BlueRayDick: You honestly think getting players who are surplus tí requirements at their clubs is the same thing as getting a player who is his club's best player.
In one breath u are talking about we seeing the possibility of signing Suarez and in that same breath u are convinced we deliberately added £1 to the £40m bid. Even when the person who oversaw the bid specifically said we didn't mean to disrespect them with the bid....smh You believe this? I can say you are stupid. Then come back grinning that I didn't mean it. Believe me. |

BlueRayDick: Which previous demands exactly? Arsenal was bidding piece meal by peice meal for a 26 year old striker who was arguably the best striker in Epl and amongst the top 5 strikers in the world as at that time. He scored 23 epl goals in 33 appearances in 2012/2013 season.
Arsenal in all wisdom thinks bidding £40m +1 is what will make the selling club sit with them at the negotiation table....smh.
That guy supposed ask who dey sell our team Marijuan.a wey dem dey smoke cos it's not regular. You are not getting the gist. And I am just repeating myself. The bid was not meant to sit and discuss with Liverpool but rather to legally trigger a release clause. That was why we appealled to PPA when Liverpool refused to sign. The £1 I repeat was a spite on Liverpool, a deliberate insult and not a friendly bid. I loved it then. Why? There was nothing to lose. Suarez wasn't coming. |

We paid same for Ozil didn't we? In fact we had an agreement in place to sign Higuain for just 25m. We lost the Higuain deal th moment it looked possible to get Suarez instead. We ended up with Ozil. |

BlueRayDick: Where is the talk about sentiment coming from?
You actually think it's cool for arsenal to sell her best player to a rival who is looking for an attacker to complete their team....even when we all saw how Van Persie's sale came back to haunt us.
Na wa o. That u are entertaining the thought alone sef..... After RVP didn't we sell Sanchez? For your information, more deals will still happen between both clubs. Hate it or not. If we get United to pay over 50m for Aubameyang at his presence age and contract situation, missing it would be silly from us. That's where sentiments is put aside. |

Jodera: Hmmm... Tho, I know I followed that deal well, that's why I'm angry about us not closing that deal then. Well, if I misinterpreted the situation then, good and fine. But I know every blogs, site and media castigated arsenal over that deal. I think I even read an autobiography from dick law(or pat rice), talking about that deal. And from his own perspective too, I still felt it was arsenal's fault The £1 was insulting but that was not what scuffled the deal. The clause wouldn't have led any where. The deal was never going to happen as Suarez had two years left of his contract then. Liverpool were ready to hold him down for one more season. People were against the one pound because it was spiteful. A deliberate attempt to make fool of Liverpool for foot dragging. Liverpool were always asking for more even when their previous demands were met. Hence the option to activate the clause not knowing there was really no clause. |

Jodera: it have everything to do with the 1pound. In your initial post, you said wenger used the one pound to spite dem. Why would any logical person do that? Also, why were Liverpool angry for the 1pound they received? Why did Suarez resume training immediately he found out that we offered 1 pound? This and many more questions points that the fault is from arsenal and not any agent misinformation Did you really follow the deal? I feel surprised at your questions after such lengthy and detailed explanation. With Liverpool pushing back and forth over their demands, Wenger first knowing that they aren't ready for a deal, plus having false information about triggering a clause, added the one pound. Any sane person doing such will know it would be seen as a deliberate move to spite Liverpool. Suarez resuming training is inconsequential. You shouldn't even be asking this. |

Fkhalifa: I'll blame Wenger and everyone at Arsenal for missing on Suarez, he wanted to join us, already chatting Arterta on accommodation and children school In London.
We're just lax and not proactive. Chelsea got Torres,City got Sterling from, instead Wenger wasn't serious nor desperate about him.
With £50M, he could have forced transfer, we could also have won the league with Carzola,Rosciky,Oxlade,Ramsey behind him.
Indeed, We need to ask what they were smoking at the Emirates that year. You need to understand that Liverpool NEVER wanted to sell Suarez, talk less of letting him join us. Suarez actually wanted to leave being instigated by his agent. He even had precontract agreement to join Arsenal. We bidded 25m then 30m, both were rebuffed arrogantly by Liverpool. Then the agent told us that Suarez had a release clause which when triggered would activate his exit. He said anything above 40m. Actually he didn't understand the clause, it meant discussions would be opened on the transfer not that the player would be released. We bidded 40m, Liverpool rejected. Then came the extra £1. Arsenal took the case to PPA, believing there was a genuine legal case based on information from the agent. Note that it had become obvious that Liverpool were unwilling to do business, but his agent was naive. Arsenal lost the case. Assuming the agent was correct on the details of the clause, Suarez would have played for us that season. This paragraph is very critical to this discuss. It has nothing to do with Liverpool not impressed with the £1. It's about the legalities surrounding the contract. |

Fkhalifa: Fantastic!
However, I don't support him joining utd o, They only need a CF who will bang it with little hard work, Auba surrounded with Bruno/Pogba from AM, Rashford,Martial and James will be so dangerous.
He'll give another V.persie like performance for 2 seasons before he gets wrecked. That's what was said when Sanchez joined them. So they overpaid him. I'd wish that again from Mugu United. |

Swissh: Why won't you people understand this is not a bid process or bargain example. A fixed buy out clause in a contract is not negotiable. If it was stated clearly in Suarez contract that any bid above 40million Suarez could leave the club then arsenal triggered the clause with the 40million + 1 pound simple as that. The agent gave Arsenal wrong interpretation of the contract clause. There is a lot of misinformation to this story, so that sentiment got the better of the fans. |

BlueRayDick: What are you even saying? Everybody knows it's just like a normal bid process, when the seller pegs the minimum for £40m it is only normal for you as a prospective buyer to better that minimum asking price with something reasonable.
£1 in Suarez's case is not reasonable by all standards. Adding £1,000,000.00 to that wouldn't have made Arsenal bankrupt. Whoever sanctioned that bid be it Wenger or the board is to blame for the deal going south.
A vehicle was put up for bidding at a friend's workplace recently. The asking price was 1.4m, my friend wanted to bid 1.450m but I told him to do 1.470m to show seriousness. He did and won the bid. That's how u show seriousness in the market, not giving insulting offers Bad financial advice. There was auction too last year at my office for used 2hp AC. I told a junior colleague to bid N15,000, he was like will it work? I asked, what would you lose? He did and won. He wanted to bid N75,000 |

Jodera: I don't see any misinformation here. Even if the agent says anything above the factual club could trigger it, why should a sane human being bring 1 pound. Even locally, if you want to buy something from, let's say, all these roadside aboki. And you guys have bargained up to 1000 naira. And he just said you should top something to the 1000 naira, that he can't just accept 1000naira. Would you have topped #5 to the 1000#? Inside that an insult to the aboki man as a business man? How much more a club like Liverpool? In a legal situation it is OK. The reason why the deal couldn't be triggered was because THERE WAS NO CLAUSE. The agent gave wrong information and Liverpool never wanted to sell no matter the circumstances. |

Swissh: Blame Suarez agent for the mis information not the club. His agent said anything above 40million would trigger the clause. The problem was it was not a factual clause but misinformation towards Arsenal by Suarez' agent. He specifically told them anything more than 40m would trigger the clause, even one pound, but it did not. You were current bro |

Jodera: lol, seems you've forgotten. Suarez was desperate to come to arsenal then. We needed a striker also. He even told one of our players then to find a house for him. Even tho, Liverpool didn't want to sell to us, he was so desperate that he wants to come to us, cos of that Liverpool had no choice than to give in. So they said his release clause was 40million pounds. Arsenal brought the £40m then, but they insisted arsenal "top" something to it, that they can't sell at exactly £40m to trigger it. I guess a 40.5m pounds will do or £41m. But wenger, in his infinite wisdom and stinginess just added a pound, making it 40m and 1pound. That angered everyone at Liverpool that dey have to cut off the deal. Just that singular act made us lose Suarez in the summer of 2013, which would have made him donning an arsenal shirt Liverpool were never going to sell Suarez to us in the first place, and Wenger knew that, that was why he did that to spite Liverpool. If you think Liverpool would have sold Suarez for whatever plus 40mil you are just being ignorant. |

Palehair: Seeing him with a girlfriend means nothing. They could simply be beards or a woman he arranges with who will consider being his fake girlfriend for a particular amount, Liberace had a beard which included Betty white and other hot supermodels, Olympic gold medalist Greg Louganis had a beard, Anthony Perkins had a beard etc, there are even rumors that Cheryl cole was Ashley cole's beard and when their contract ended, she filed a fake divorce. Michael Fashanu's daughter once said that there are about 12 big gay football players in the premier league and 9 in the Spanish league whom she knows of who are secretly gay with girlfriends who they pay to make them look straight and she also considered being a beard once. Or he could garnish up a lesbian who also wants to fool the world into thinking she's straight, they might end up getting married. It's called "lavender marriages", Celebs do it all the time but all in all, he could be straight. He's not the only one who's saying football isn't ready for openly gay footballers, Other prominent sportsmen and coaches who are straight and legends in their fields have all said the same thing. It's best gay men in sports keep their sexuality hidden, it's an hypermasculine environment, you don't want to loose your fans and you don't want your teammates to look at you in some way or to be scared to be in the same shower or locker room with you. I heard about one who came out in college and since he came out, most of his teammate refused to even shake his hand. As long as the women consent to the fake relationship, then it's ok because they will never ever have a home in sport. You seem obsessed about gay people. There is a thin straight line between gay people and those obsessed about them. |
