The bolded is my fear, we were excited with Emery, we felt Emery won 3europas with no huge financial backing (something we can't find on poch's CV) Trophies and big club experience at PSG, and how he made us believe he is bringing the high pressing quality football..

Its the reason why I'm not quick to suggesting names again, make we no fall into another scam..
But las las we go still take risk, its better we go an established one than all this youth corper coach like Freddie,Lana,Arterta et al cheesy

Personally, I don't trust Allegri.
Allegri is proven in Italy.

A great achievement, but that is not the only point to consider.
1 good season can’t replace years of good seasons.

What is Wenger’s record in Europe? How many continental titles does he have?

What is their head to head record?
Which of them flogged the other scoring 6 goals, 8 goals etc while fielding cheaply bought defenders in midfield?

Which of them delivered the TREBLE?
Which of them won a European title with a small club like Aberdeen, beating Madrid and Bayern along the way?
Fergie had unlimited resources compared to Arsene. Don't make me start hating Wenger. We all know Fergie was better, why bring comparison? angry

They were the major buys and most expensive in his first 2yrs, the Karius and Solankes were either free transfer or <£10M..

Before the UCL trophy, they were already at the top level and the positive signs were there already.

Freddie will be another time wasting, the guy will just be attacked for nothing, let's get a good manager who understands the modern style of football, clear 3/4 deadwoods and celebrities, bring in 2/3 quality buys next summer, and implement the high intensive quality football..
The manager doesn't need to spend huge like klopp in his first years, he'll inherite better players than what klopp inherited.
Just 2/3 signings within the £35M range.
As good as your suggestion is, it's still looks like what we have done already with Emery. Like I pointed out, it is not a 1+1=2 matter. If not United would be top of the league by now after they got LvG, then Mourinho. We too got Emery but here we are still whining.

We are still in our trial process and any managerial change should not come as a surprise. We keep trying until we land the desired manager.

Meanwhile, Allegri is out of job.

Klopp's first 2 years were just normal business
Mohamed Salah (£34m - 2017)
Sadio Mane (£30m - 2016)
Andrew Robertson (£8m - 2017)
Georginio Wijnaldum (£25m - 2016)
Fabinho (£39m - 2018)
Oxlade Chamberlain (£35m - 2017)
Xherdan Shaqiri (£13m - 2018)

The above were decent business, they sold Coutinho and Suarez and some other low key players .

Only Van dijk,Alison and Naby Keita are above £40M and they were after his 3rd year.

After his first 2years he already to the top and was generating revenue for them..

So we can sell Kolasinac,Xhaka,Mustafi,Ozil,Mhicky,Elneny Sokratis and Nelson..
Introduce Mavro, bring in Saliba and pair Chambers/Luiz and Holding

Look for a talented LB of little cost like Robertson to understudy KieranT, Guendozi&Willock will have matured and replace Elneny easily, bring in Ndidi or partey..

Use Martinali,Saka,Niles and pepe as wingers fo r now then go all out for another LW and AM next summer the following summer. smiley
You singled out the good buys and avoided the bad ones. Klopp spent a lot of money to get here. It was money well spent though because of their last season's achievement. But it's also because they fortunate to have a very good manager overseeing it. A bad manager would make the club go into admin. Is this a risk Arsenal is willing to take? I guess not.

We are still in our trial process for a new manager. Even if we want to use Ljunberg or any manager, it will be for max two years until we are sure to hand him the club for long term.

Your first paragraph justifies your point. The second especially the emboldened justifies mine and is a big reason why he is the wrong choice for Spurs. They won't be able to afford his extravagance.

Mourinho will priotise Fa cup and Carabao the moment he sees UCL and Bpl is far from his reach, he did this alot at Chelsea even at utd.
He doesn't rest players for cup games from experience..

For now, I know he'll try and get top4, and go hard for the fa cup..
And his chances of winning it are high for the f.f reasons:

Arsenal are after Top4 and Europa and will rest players for Fa cup.

Liverpool's ambition this year is premier league title, they've got busy schedule and will rest players for Fa Cup.

Utd, wants UCL football before any Fa cup

Chelsea do not want to drop from table and want to go far in UCL..

Pep and Man city wants to win everything but will priorities UCL, failure to get UCL may get pep sacked..
And this spurs side have shown they can knock city out talk more of a rested squad.

Mou knows how to win trophies, for spurs standard, they'll consider Fa cup and no UCL football as success.
I will be a little bit surprised if Mou manages to win anything with the squad Pochentino had. Unless he buys this January, how he will make use of those players will interest me. We all know he has zero tolerance for average Joe's. He wouldn't mind castigating them publicly like he did at United.

Mourinho to Spurs: My thoughts

Mourinho hasn't won a trophy since his second stint at Chelsea. After being spoilt in his first stint, he has been known to play with big money signings, something he doesn't seem to do without. Mourinho will guarantee you trophies but that is if you have money. This credit itself is becoming questionable after spending heavily at Man Utd his previous club with nothing to show for it. His joining Tottenham will either be the last nail that will seal his managerial coffin, or the one to start the rebuild of his managerial tower. This means he needs to have enough funds available to achieve it, and also satisfy the trophy desire of Spurs fans. Enough money to dough out and capture big players. Enough money, enough to break transfer records if that is what it takes. Something I am sure Daniel Levy, will not be willing to afford.

I don't want Pochentino bros. As good a tactician as he is, he does not have a cv. For me Emery even has something to show. He plays exciting football and knows how to neutralize tactics of good managers and teams. But the fact that he cannot guide a team to complete a trophy run is a huge draw back. Even your Wengay won two FA cups in his unfruitful years before bowing out.

Nuno strikes me as a good manager, it isn't fluke he is taking points from the top6, the big latest was that of Etihad, he spots talent and instills fearlessness into his boys, now they're in Europa..

Its risky though, but for me, there's chance he'll do well in a financially backed top side.
Let's get Arteta before someone else does and we come here to winge about how close we were. He has under studied the best.

Of course. Wenger was way in the league before pochettino. Wenger was on a decline and pochetinno was on a rise. Logically, it's Wenger that suppose to be castigated, not poch
Though I am a bit shocked Pochentino got the boot, but during the years he spent with Wenger, Wenger actually did better ibvthe sense that he won FA cups which Pochentino couldn't achieve even after Wenger left.

Honestly, I had the belief that with the way he was progressing Pochentino would definitely win a trophy within the season, but here we are...

Now to the logic you spoke of, obviously both declined, howbeit that Pochentino's was just this/one season and wasn't really given the chance to redeem himself. Wenger had that chance and didn't take it so fans were right to castigate him.

My point here is Wenger won trophies both in his early and late years. Pochentino didn't win anything. While it's justifiable castigating Wenger for his decline, the fact remains that he was more achieving than Pochentino irrespective of how much the later is adored.

Klopp not special? If klopp isn't special, then I don't know who is tbh. Var have been inconsistent this season in EPL. Yes there are some games var favored dem, but also against Aston Villa, var was against them... yet dey still won.
And if it's about winning the ucl, you can't write him off cos it's a cup.. That's a special type of cup, and that's why nobody have won it back to back aside Zidane.
Now let's see how special klopp is..
1..Liverpool were so down finishing 7th or 8th wen he met dem. Their title winning run the previous year was an anomaly just like Leicester of 2015 (abi 2016), he turned average joes to great Stars.
2...in this crazy world of spending, he just spent highly on 2 people (gk and df) who not only improve d team, but massively improved the team. That tells you d kind of special coach he is.
3.. You talk of him bottling the league with 96points. I wouldn't tag that as bottling of league but of how good man city were. And I mean, very good. And that's why he's going for it again. Only special coaches do such. Most coach would have fizzled off after the height of last season, but he's even going a step further by doing a 100% winning streak.
4..Injuries are part of game and maintaining and guiding a player against injury is not all what most clubs have. If you notice, most of their players hardly go to injury... That tells you the kind of strong medical system they have, which is very needed in football. I mean, since d introduction of their front 3, how many times have dey not played together.
5...talk about the work ethic and d team spirit of Liverpool and his Dortmund days, and you'll see how great d manager was. Both teams was also ran b4 his arrival, now, both teams are/were conquerors.

Mehn, no talk this thing about klopp not been special outside o...even rival fans go beat you sef angry angry

Fkhalifa:
We have some really skillful players but pace is a non negotiable trait in EPL. If what we see in matches is something to go by, Emery is clearly not making players work on their athleticism in the training. Because why run when we can just pass sideways and backwards. And Emery has said it many times, team is playing tactically how he wants and that is what he wants, to pass sideways and backwards.

Apart from Auba and Laca, every other player has absolutely abysmal shooting power and accuracy. Especially the midfield players, their shooting is Ugh. We see many teams in EPL frequently scoring goals from distance. At least we see some attempts that provide some momentary morale boost, but at Arsenal, we hardly see anyone even attempt a shot from distance. We need to take more chances like that. We can’t walk the ball to the goal every time. That makes us too predictable.

Once in a while, have Luiz, or Sokratis, or Holding take the ball to the final third providing one additional player for the opposition to deal with and smack a shot from distance. We need that kind of mentality, to mix it up, and not play like we are following a recipebook. Have Tierney or Bellerin, cut inside, instead of taking the wide wing, and mix up opposition markers. But I don’t think this sort of play falls under Goodebeningball. I haven’t seen so imaginatively dead as Emery to be honest.

Auba and Laca should work on ball playing skills and passing. Their shooting department is good, but they severely lack ball playing skills. Working on first touches, hold up play, headers, crosses, etc.

Copied#

This is another pressing issue that's getting me disturbed, Football is about goals and a good team should have several means of achieving that.
At Arsenal the culture from pa Wenger days till Mr good ebening's time is that we like always want to walk the ball in the net, score sexy neat passes goals that'll trend on social media.

it's like they don't train shooting.Iwobi was axed for his bad shootings, now pepe doesn't seem to have power to his shots

Kolasinac can be too predictable, he waits to be fed on the run so he can square play a tap in for Auba, he does that again and again, what happens to pulling the trigger atimes?

Belllerin did so at Leicester, his run paved way for laca, but he choose to fire it at goal and that's nice.

Ozil always want to pass the ball to net, Mesut should be bending the R2goals, Bernardo Silva's goal at Liverpool, I trust mesut to try and be looking for a final pass, or Madison's goal, Ozil will soft the ball and begin another cycle of pass me I pass you.

As much as Ramsey isn't the fans favorite, he was very good at this, Even Sanchez tries his luck from anywhere on the pitch

Could this be the reason why we have few shots on goal?

This team needs thorough and proper coaching, the training ground in london Colney looks like a play ground.

Please, I'm not saying we don't shoot nor score goals aside from passing it to the net, but the way we approach goals most times is so same and predictable.. Also, there's no where in my post I imply Ozil or other big names loved by fans I mentioned should be blamed.
My own is that I don tire. smiley
