The same unheralded team fought for title last season while defeating you in the process. In case you don't know, Poch has always been a problem for Pep right from their La Liga days
What of Wenger? He has beaten Guardiola na. Mourinho nko. Klopp? Whether there will be more only time will tell.

That is because the teams in the EPL are of lower quality just like the Nigerian league. When the teams are quality we would see them in Europe doing their stuff
Quality is irrelevant to the argument. Competitiveness is.

The unpredictability (oyibo cheesy) of the EPL makes it standout really. Burnley beat Liverpool. Liverpool beat Arsenal. Watford beat United. Ttoenham beat City.

Who can beat Bayern. Abeg who?

Pep doesn't have anything to prove and EPL isn't yardstick. He is only there for the money. We see how EPL teams play in Europe. If indeed it's competitive, the teams representing them should prove it to the world but alas, they are always disgraced.
Pep's team got beaten by an unheralded Poch's team. That's one point already.

Pep never won a treble while in Germany

EPL is very weak thats why coach after coach come in and win it in their debut season
No team is able to dominate because they are all equal in mediocrity, tell me if Leicester would make top 4 in any serious league. That is why in the CL we can see the same team making semi finals almost every season and we barely see EPL teams there.

When Man Utd was strong they were dominating the league. Man Utd won 5 out of 7 leagues between 2007 and 2013

Its like telling us Nigerian league is competitive because most teams win at home, and different mediocre teams win every yr, Kano Pillars, Rangers, Enyimba Dolphins, Bayelsa United does not make it anywhere close to the Egyptian league that Al Ahly wins regularly
You that is the point you are not getting.

Nigerian league is more competitive than Egyptian league, that is why Enyimba and Pillars could only enjoy SPELLS. Al Ahly and Zamalek are dominating the Egyptian league. Just as Celtic is dominating the Scottish league. Who is dominating the EPL? Tell us and we will accept.

EVen if you take out Mancini I have given you 3 coaches who won the EPL the first attempt, Mourinho broke the point record at first attempt, Pellegrini won his first title in Europe at first attempt, even Ranieiri who has failed for 30yrs won his first league title ever in the EPL

That alone shows how useless the EPL is
Pep dominated La liga in every season he spent there, including his first season as a manager.

Enrique took over and is doing exactly the same thing.

Pep dominated Bundesliga in every season he spent there too, winning trebles upon trebles.

Before him was Henckles who also dominated with the same team.

Dayo, which club has dominated EPL in every single season with different managers?

EPL is more competitive. Give up!

Meanwhile...

I really enjoyed our win yesterday more than the rest this season. I love winning controversially. Kai!

My dream win is...

With the scores at 0-0 vs Manure at Old Trafford, deep into stoppage time just a second left, with Manure pressing, suddenly...

Xhaka snatches the ball off Pogba with studs raised high- the ref not calling the foul, he squares to Ozil who finds Sanchez,
he is offside but the lines man's flag stays down,
Sanchez tries to beat De Gea, he couldn't, De Gea pushes the ball but Sanchez dives, a penalty! Sanchez picks himself up to take it,
oops! De Gea parries it only for Walcott to knock in the rebound. Goooooaaaaaaal! Then...

Pheeeewwww! Ref blows the final whistle, 1-0 to The Arsenal.

Dominance is not one season wonder. Dominance is winning all available trophies for 3 seasons rolling.

Or that Mourinho dominated the EPL breaking the points record in his first season
The actual argument has always been that Pep's dominance was as a result of him being in a monopolistic league, with all the best players and that by coming to the EPL he would be found out.

I am not saying he is not good, no. What I am saying is that he cannot dominate the EPL the way he did Bundesliga.

Here are predictions about who could have won the league last season by all BBC pundits...

http://m.bbc.com/sport/football/33764700

Here is their predictions for this season...

http://m.bbc.com/sport/football/37040156

Summary:
about 80% thought Chelsea would win the league in 2016, due to their strong squad.

That pecentage droped to less than 10% for 2017 after the mishap of the previous season.

Conclusion:
based on squad depth, Chelsea had a better squad last season. This season, many still believe they can pose a challenge despite little changes.

Chelsea never had the best squad!!! Man city has always had the best and balanced squad in england for the last 5 years.. What they lacked was the mental strength.
That was the basic difference between chelsea and man city in chelseas title winning season and that is credit to mourinho. Jose in his first season said we were little horses who he was grooming. He then built the mental strength in the team hence the consistency in the team and eventual cup wins.

It is both. Willan shouldn't be in chelsea! His stats suggest that. Ivanovich. If you look at it the current chelsea team is average at best and there is no adequate replacement.

That statement there contradicts your entire post. You are correct. As you said a club should have a system of play which runs across all level. Are you suggesting mou is responsible for that?? That happens ONLY in barca. There is no other club that can say the same. Chelsea's under 21 have been successful for a lot of years under a guy named adi vivesh ( not sure of correct spelling) who has used the 352 formation at the youth level for many years. This was very different from mou.

Conte can adapt to any formation. He is still looking for the best for this team and that requires patience. He is not a magician that would change things over night. And it is a disadvantage, that he has the likes of willan, Oscar, Ivanovich, matic Mikel, etc to work with.
As a Chelsea fan you surely do have more insight about the club than myself. But from my own perspective, the frequent changing of tacticians must have affected the way systems operate from the youth team to the senior team. Changing managers leads to technical deficiencies in areas where adequate beefing is not made, and lack of transition from lower grades. All these are results of the 'win now' mentality.

Take Arsenal for example, the cohesion, blend, and timely upgrades enables the club to consistently finish above board despite the lack of quality.

The likes of Iwobi, are simple rewards for maintaining tactical consistency at all levels.

I still do believe that Chelsea has the best all round squad after Man City. The quality the club has at youth level is enough to sustain a title challenge,- when things are done right.

He did well to get into position, just as Koscielny, but his childish mind wouldn't let him calmly send the ball home. Besides this, I think it was Kos' boot that got the ball, Ox was just interfering. WE WERE LUCKY.

Spur's win over City is a proof of the point some of us have been trying to make as regards Pep's supposed 'master manager' stints at both Barca and Bayern.

He must have learnt a good lesson today, that EPL is not La Liga or Bundesliga. That here any team can be beaten by any team. That tiki taka 'nor be for England'. That for the fact that you won 'trebles' in a monopolised league, doesn't mean it will work everywhere else. That there are still top managers (Poch, Wenger, Koeman, etc) who don't make too much noise.

Oops! Jose?

@donjazet
For the past 3 seasons, Chelsea has had the best squad in the EPL. This time it is City.

Infact, most pundits thought Chelsea would win the league back to back after their triumph 2 years ago.

The problem (I think) with the Chelsea squad now is a matter of adequate rather than quality replacements.

Obviously you are a Jose fanboy, but actually Jose spoiled Chelsea fans with his 'buy-buy win now' mentality thus failing to integrate young players. A club should have their system of play which runs accross all levels.

So, yes there is an imbalance, but that is as a result of changing managers cum changing systems and not the team per se. Conte tried to continue the Jose way, but has discovered it is not working for him.

That is, in the Jose way there is balance but in the Conte way there is no balance caused by lack of wingbacks.

Against Hull Conte went for his own system 3-5-2. This system requires the use of wingbacks which Chelsea lack.

Therefore, Conte's failure to acquire wingbacks (off course Alonso) is what is creating your 'percieved' imbalance.
