clinicality doesn't have anything to do with position on the pitch. Even when we had more traditional forward in Nketiah and a more proven striker in Jesus, Odegaard and Trossard were and is better finishers than them. Auba was good but he also misses chances like 2 or 3 and still scores 2 or 1 because the creativity was there. Ozil knew where to place the ball in front of goal when he needs to score than Auba, one is a AM while the other is a S. If we score 3 to 4 goals per match without a pure 9, why would I need one when we can use that resources to chanel in other areas? (This is my main argument).
You done finish talk. Nothing else to say. Pure common sense

Didn't want to talk about this initially but you brought it up.

Getting a striker (esp like Osimhen or Gyokeres) is the differences between us not getting all 15points.

Someone like Gyokeres/Osimhen would have converted that Havertz chance against Brighton and against Man City ystdy, we would have been more deadly winning aerial balls during the 2nd half something Havertz was really dominated on. Osimhen especially would have been a menace against those defenders ystdy with his endless running through channels and aerial duels. I'm even certain there would have been a Torres against Barca deja Vu s
But yeah, Arteta deserves he flowers the way he set us up both times when we were a man down. All credits to him and the players
This is speculation at best. I have watched Osimhen several times and in recent times at Galatasaray and for Nigeria and seen enough to know that he misses chances too. Forget

When you see a well drilled team it's the manager.

Can we all now accept that Arteta was right about not needing a striker?

Three tough away games and we almost came out with 9points.

Without our best player Odegaard for two of those games.

Arteta deserves his flowers

As much as we all believe Martinelli didn’t play well in the game , it is funny that he owned the assist for that Calafiori goal.

I strongly believe if that red card card incident didn’t happen , he(Martinelli ) would’ve caught Walker off guard more than once in the game like he did for the assist .
Spot on. The boys tried abeg. The only culprit was Jesus. He started well owning Silva but that.mistake of giving City a corner when he could have cleared the ball messed his efforts

I don’t care who he fields but please, for the sake of whatever Arteta believes in, Thomas Partey shouldn’t be in the squad facing Bolton. We are playing with serious fire at this point with Partey.
The problem is that if you give Partey break with his legs he will break his waist. Lol 🤣

I agree with you, he needs a break. Having to play four games as the main midfielder will take a lot from him

Yesterday’s match got a lot of fans emotional (maybe because of the taunt of rival fans sha ) , but like u rightly said ; It will irresponsible for Arteta to throw the young boy into a match of such nature .

I believe the boy’s time will come and he will do well in view of his talent.

That being said , it is important to state that Arteta goofed allowing Martinelli playing 90 minutes with nothing to show for it attack-wise . Arteta should also have realized by now that Havertz is ineffective as a midfielder , he just keeps ghosting on that left side of midfield . These are the issues .
Martinelli was ineffective but I assume that Arteta was willing to sacrifice that match as a warm up to the Man City match.

By removing Partey and Saka, and giving time to Sterling has had Man City in mind. Taking Martinelli out was of no value to him.

Also, Martinelli is off form scoring wise and may need more minutes to reset his brain.

I still remember your quote clearly earlier this preseason. You said something in the line of

"if ever you're looking for a reason why Esr is sold, look at Nwaneri" ...

I mean, we all watch this guy ball in preseason. We all watched how only him was the shining light when he came as sub against Spurs even when his fellow Sub veterans (Jesus and Sterling) where just looking overwhelmed.

You made that statement with the belief that he'll take Esr place(cos to you, he's potentially better than ESR), so how come is he now a player that can no longer play such a game yesterday night. It's not as if we're playing Madrid or prime Bayern in a UCL match, it's freaking Atalanta in a first match. If there's any match to play him, that's the match even if it's to come on as a sub in the 60 something minutes.

Tbh, if he can't get minutes and starts now, then, I'm sorry, he's not even ready at all.

Ask yourself, If Esr is here, would you have made this excuse?
To your last line my answer is no. However it does not change the fact.

We let ESR go because Nwaneri is good. Being good doesn't mean ready. Like I said, we need to ease him in. This is very critical to how a young player should start. Have you seen a primary school child who is very eloquent in debates fail when stood before a crowd of elders? It happens because their tutors didn't ease them in. It's like having sex, you do pre-intimacy first if you want to really impress

You're spot on with this.

Like to be honest, I don't know why he's not using Nwaneri presently. The guy played many preseason games and he's the reason you sold Esr and loaned Viera. I don't get why he's treating him like someone that's a greenhorn. If he doesn't have the trust, then I don't get why he sanctioned those decisions

It's very very painful
Calm down. No sane manager will throw Nwaneri into a tough schedule in three tough teams away outside his plan. Do you want to destroy the boy's mentality? Assuming that one of those games was at home then he can try but these are away games where your fans voices won't be the loudest.

You saw how an experienced Jorginho or Sterling struggled how much more Nwaneri. He may be at the same talent level with them Jamal and Musiala but he is not there yet mentally and that will take a proper planned process.

Arteta himself admitted that all his plans for this week were scattered with those series of injuries during the international break

I also believe that Odegaard injury must be enough for Arteta to hasten that process.

The renaming took effect from 2 September 2024 and a certificate signed by Hussaini Magaji, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) and the Registrar General of the Corporate Affairs Commission has been issued to that effect.
I thought the criminal defamers and unpatriotic elements were lying before that Wale Tinubu has bought over NNPC Retail? Smh.

Finally, the truth is now being forced out by force after Oando Plc threatened to compile the list of alleged criminal defamers/media platforms and commence litigation against all those peddling criminal defamation against their organization for political mischief and because President Bola Tinubu defeated their mediocre principals during the last Presidential election.

This is why it's good to set the records straight. Oando Plc is not even owned by Wale Tinubu but by every Dick, Tom and Harry Nigerian and foreigner owning its shares traded on both Nigerian Stock Exchange and the Johannesburg Stock Exchange.

NNPC merged all the companies into OVH and now renamed it as NNPC Retail Limited. This business decision has nothing to do with Oando Plc that had since divested from OVH since 2019 and all the information were in the public domain. Premium Times fall our hand too.

May God bless Nigeria for ever! Check my signature for free stuffs!
Now that you lots have said Tinubu doesn't own OVH, stick to your words. All these abracadabra merger and renaming upandan let it not be that tomorrow Tinubu will appear from no where to claim ownership of NNPC.

Rice is a professional footballer, the rules are the rules.

If u obstruct a free kick it is a yellow card; this is not about sentiments.

You can fault the ref for not penalizing a Brighton player for similar offence but it doesn't take away the fact that Rice committed a bookable of fence.

Rice did absolute nonsense with that singular act. It's not like Veltman will score directly into our goal post if Rice had allowed him play the free kick.

The crazy thing in all of this is that Rice was even attempting a useless dribble before Veltman gained the ball which led to Rice fouling him resulting in the controversial free kick.
I am not arguing this. But Rice was not the only person that committed that kind of foul in that game. If Rice was punished, shouldn't the ref be punished for lack of consistency?

We shouldn't be only looking at Rice but also the ref

You have been watching the wrong video, Rice did kick the ball; and that was why Veltman's kick hit him hard.

Rice messed up, I believe his adrenaline got the best of him because I can't really see to understand what point he was trying to make preventing Brighton from restarting play that high up the field . It's not like Veltman will kick the ball into our goal post from that spot without our defenders doing anything.

Ideally Rice should be apologizing to his fellow players and teammates for that nonsense he did; If that was Xhaka in his dark days we will be calling for his head.
You're ignoring the fact that Veltman threw the ball into Rice's path from behind him. You are also not accepting that the ref overreacted. And then that the ref wasn't consistent because twice in the same game Brighton players did similar things and were not cautioned.

I will not like you to be my brother. You will blame me for every fight I get into.
