Giving to the poor is very important and the scriptures encourage us to give to the needy. You however can not give your tithe to the poor. The tithe is for the church, it says to bring all our tithes into the store house of God so that there will be meat in the house of God. It was re- emphasised in the law so that the priests can be taken care of, and for the daily running of the temple. |
Indescribable...she is simply beyond words |
They both look good in the dress..but how come they are both wearing the same dress, na asoebi? Anyway sha, Omotola almost spoilt hers with her choice of shoes. |
Thanks for your contribution.Yes some private schools are really good, most are not what they seem to be. |
But are the standards in the fed colls still good, as regards academics, morality etc. |
Are there parents who have kids in federal government colleges or others who may know on nairaland? .From those who know better, I need advice or whether to let the federal colleges are still good, and if a child would fare well there and why? |
The project that really made sense and impact is WOTCLEF, I think the national agency for prohibition of trafficking of persons was borne out it. However, better life for rural women and family support also made some impact ,at least we still see some of the structures built for women in PH. All of the others are just 'follow follow' Turai raised 6billion to build cancer centre, we don't know what has become of it. As for Patience, I really don't understand her own, first it was women for change, now its first ladies whatever. Confusion. |
I want to know if any one has information about the results of the 2012 National entrance exams and how one can check them. |
But come to think of it, most people complain about PDP governors without knowing that it is actually in the power of the people to determine their leader. For example, when Imo people decided they did'nt want Ikedim back, they came all out to vote and defended their votes, same for Oyo state. If every state will do just that, we will gadually get credible leaders. |
I can imagine why they are disappointed, with all that went on during the campaigns they were really desperate and ready to do anything to take back Edo. I guess all their efforts to rig was thwarted, they just found out it would be difficult to rig with the massive support Oshiomole has from Edo people. |
Kids have to learn discipline from home, they need to know that if they break the laws and are disobedient they get punished. There are different ways they can be punished, flogging is certainly one of it. Though it should not be overdone or done out of anger. I rarely flog my kids, but I have cains and I flog them once in a while to really drive my point home. At other times I tell them to kneel down , but most times I talk to them. I tell you, most times they don't repeat what you've flogged them about. I don't think there is anything wrong with floging, as long as it is done gently and out of love, and does not injure the child. Withdrawing a child or going to harass a teacher who flogged your child in school, it's way out of it.What did the child do that he was flogged? If any of my children comes back home to say they were flogged, I ask what they did wrong and I rebuke them again myself, warning them not to repeat.I hope we don't turn out adults tomorrow who are wayward, unruly and irresponsible. Proverbs says foolishness is bound in a child, but the rod of correction will drive it far from him. |
I know someone whose laptop was removed from her checked-in luggage, on Arik flight from Lagos to London. When she complained, Arik said she was not supposed to put valuables in check-in luggage. |
All those who are just waiting for a pastor to make a mistake so they can critise. Dr Dollar is first of all a father, and its his responsibility to discipline his daughter. If she had gone out and anything had happened to her, you will say he can't take care of his household. We were not there, but if she was choked or punched like we are made to believe, she would have been hospitalised. There is a story of 15yr old in the UK, who went to a party, fell sick and died a few hours later. The police suspect a new drug called pink esctasy that teenagers lace with their drinks at parties. Just yesterday, another teenager died at a music festival, and the police suspect drug use. Common, all you accusing the pastor, the man did right to protect his kid. Whatever he did was out of love and responsibility. |
She's been married before, divorced...struggled with self-acceptance. This may still be self acceptance issues...for goodness sake, does it make sense to marry one's self? She still needs therapy... |
Let these northern leaders and former northern leaders who are sponsoring boko haram, and the illiterates they are using know that blood speaks. Every innocent blood they have shed will continue to speak against them, their land, families, children, generations unborn. |
Funny thing is, these people who say there is no God when in trouble try to look for supernatural powers by going to a witch doctor, herbalist, crystal ball reader, mediums and the likes. They believe in supernatural powers or forces but don't believe in God. Your unbelief does not change the fact that there is a God who created the universe, He holds the world by the power of His word. |
Kay 17: I'm an atheist because the God concept is a badly defined one, one constructed not exist. Abrahamic religions don't make any sense. They all preach fantasy. And miracles?! C'mon! Miracles are impossibleHahahaha.. at least you believe there was an Apostle Paul. The foolishness of God is wiser than the wisdom of men |
Kay 17: If there is a perfect god, why is there an imperfect world?Because of sin and satan. |
emisun: damn....i don't just know where to start this argument with these theists here.they seem to be way below average theists you meet in the academic world.first as an atheist,i hold the view that god does not exist and that the universe came into existence about 13.7billion years ago.the only argument theists are holding onto these days is that of 'why is there something rather than nothing' and it has been proven that this question is a fallacy of stolen concept.nothing has no meaning, nothing is unstable, nothing is just a misfiring concept. if you would like to know more, just ask google and stop reducing this kind of argument to unintelligent discourse.most theists here make use of scientifically invented gadgets i.e phones, cars, plane, electricity,tv,radio etc...am off,am kinda busy......Mr intelligent academic,if I may ask how did the universe come into existence being 13.7billion years ago? |
Its only a fool that says in his heart that there is no God. God created the heavens and the earth, and we are created in His image and likeness. The evil in the world or hypocrisy amongst so-called Christians does not change the fact. The Spirit of God bears witness in the heart of the believer that he is a child of God. God is real, He can speak to you, direct you and guide you through life by His word and Spirit. I have been a born-again christian for 20years, in Him I have lived, moved and have my being. Don't let the devil deceive with philosophy, God is real and exists and Jesus is the Way, the Truth and the Light " for since the creation of the world God's invisible qualities-His erternal power and divine nature-have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that men are without excuse" Roms 1:20. |
Whether the figure is true or not, their coming home is not going to transform the health sector. Most of those doctors were trained here, they relocated for greener pastures. The lack of cutting edge medical facilities is the difference between the Nigerian health sector and that of other countries. |
@Iyaski, NDDC does not give undergraduate scholarships. All 9 Niger delta states have their quota. |
I think the whole shoddiness in the process just creates room for corruption. |
NDDC scholarship is not really a scam, its just NOT being properly organised. Most of the recipients last year are yet to resume because the award letters for 2011/2012 came out in September. The award amount is fixed, $30,000, you have to arrange for visa yourself and find your way to the school. They are supposed to pay your fees directly to your school and give you the balance of the money(if any). For most of 2010/2011 scholars, and a few of the 2011/2012 scholars who had the financial means to start off on their own this session, NDDC just paid their fees January this year. This is over 4months after they resumed, and the balance of the $30,000 have been paid into the accounts of some recipients while some have still NOT received. So if you must have your own financial means to start off while you wait patiently and pray for NDDC to fulfill their promise. There is no form of communication between NDDC and the scholars, when you even get the number of any staff in that department to ask for information, you are mostly likely going to be a rude reply. |
"He has come again, He has come again, Ibori he has come again, James he has come again. This was the same way a judge once told us that this was not the James Ibori he convicted. I'd expected Eluemunor to tell us that the ibori that pleaded guilty, was not the one that ruled Delta State for 8 years". Opera mini. lol, Nothing is impossible. Ibori can come back tomorrow to contest and a judge would say he is not the same Ibori that pleaded quilty. Afterall, a judge has given a permanent injunction to EFFC not to prosecute Odili. |
The problem of over-admission. Despite all the warnings from the accrediting body. The bottom line is corruption. They just do not know when to say no, any body that brings a note or recommendation letter from highly placed persons is accepted whether they qualify or not. Ofcourse, these favours will be repayed in other ways. Besides that every lecturer and every doctor 's child wants to be a doctor so they give special preference and try to admit as many of them as possible. |
Special adviser? The tattoo is not the issue, the woman is improperly dressed. I'm sure GEJ would have been embarassed by her dressing. All these numerous SAs and PAs to settle people, waste of taxpayers money. |
It is either this story is fabricated, or it actually happened but its being covered up. How come most of the Nigerian newspapers did not report it? The lady was said to have confessed to FCTA minister, the minister and other workers in FCTA should be able confirm to refute the story. |
No value for our national awards, just anybody can get it. |
I just installed Microsoft office and student 2010, its fully installed but would not open. The message says the side-by-side configuration is wrong. I had same problem trying to install yahoo messenger. What do I do? I just bought this MS edition with online download. |
@gbaby87, congrats, lol , ( sorry madam for the delay). Which school are you going to? |
