are u a civil servant, a teacher or are u responsible for paying them? How much are teachers being paid? My sister hasn't been given an account number yet, not to talk of payment and shes a teacher. Why did u skip the corpers and road part. Amechi is a thief and so is his opposition. My friend, quit being a politician and face facts squarely.

Your sister has not been given account number yet? Is it the government that gives account number? Are you sure your sister was employed as a teacher. Yes, I am a civil servant, and I know quite a number of people who were employed as teachers, both family members and friends, so I know what I am talking about. Your sister is supposed to submit her account number when she is doing biometrics. Ask your sister well, she is either lying to you or she was not employed at all. As for the corpers, I don't know anything about that. Don't go making allegations online you can not prove.

U Guys are here praising amechi. Teachers haven't been paid for 7 months, even civil Servants and corpers. All being owed. Road projects on stand still. The mono rail is a waste. My neighbor was recently evicted by my landlord because he couldn't meet up with the rent (as a civil servant). Amechi has been diverting state funds for his political agenda. Can't Bahari, the incorruptible judge, call him to order. Is this how apc want to transform nigerian? By bribing over 20k ppl to sing their praises in a stadium?? Tufiakwa... May God help Nigeria
Do you have to lie to show your hatred for Amaechi? Civil servants are not being owed, except for october. The september salaries were delayed and that was because allocations were delayed, even GEJ confirmed that allocations for september were paid a little over a week ago. All newly employed teachers are presently being paid, except for arrears being owed them. The government has started paying the arrears in bits for 2 months to most of the teachers. Please, don't spread falsehoods, or atleast confirm from civil servants or teachers before you start peddling rumours.

Stop commenting if you don't have full details. People from 5 villages wrote the exams in that centre because it was considered safer than the other villages, so not only girls from Chibok were there.
Gej acknowledges that girls were abducted and he is doing everything possible to release them. The committee he set up agreed after their investigations that some girls were abducted. All all these conspiracy theories, you are only painting Gej as a fool who does not know what he is doing.

So Amaechi and APC now control ASUU, nlc and maybe NARD? Then GEJ must be a very bad leader.

Politics / Re: Wike, Others Threaten To Physically Destroy Rivers State Plantation by ssii: 11:15am On Oct 14, 2013
maimalari:
Opposition politicians opposed to the Rivers State Governor, Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi have threatened to launch a destructive attack on the state government owned Banana plantation in Tia Local Government council.

The politicians issued the threat at the ward and council inauguration of members of Grassroot Development Initiative in Tai Local Government Area of the state.

Supervising minister of education, Nyesom Wike had mocked the state’s agricultural project calling on the people of Ogoni to reject such projects.

According to him, “there is nothing called new PDP. They have been defeated in court. They have been defeated in INEC. Nobody will challenge Mr. President. For all those intimidations, be rest assured you will get all the necessary protections within the ambits of the Law. Nobody will intimidate you.

“You must know people who mean well for you. You all have to know that the Ogonis are not monkeys. When I hear people say they have something for Ogoni, the only industry they have for you is a banana industry. Holy Ghost fire for all the people, for all those that conspired that there is nothing that is good for the Ogoni people except to make them have bananas. Ogoni people have paid their dues. They are not meant to be eating bananas”.

Also, a former Senator from the state, Lee Maeba said he would personally take the lead to ravage the plantation.

“We are not monkeys and we are not growing bananas at all. They have been talking on the radio that they uncovered a plot. There is no need to uncover anything, I said I will lead a well-meaning protest of all the Ogonis and by the time we return there will be no more bananas”, he threatened.

Maeba also alleged that the banana plantation was one of the factors undermining the implementation of the United Nations Environmental Programme, UNEP, report:
“I said it in Bori that after listening to the cries of the Ogonis, they agreed that the soil of Ogoni is contaminated and there must be clean-up and compensation. When the compensation team arrived from New York, Pharo led a group of agriculturist and went to establish banana farm and told them that the soil is good that they should not pay compensation; they should not clean up the land.

“But with those bananas, they are using to deceive our people, to deceive the United Nations, to deceive the Federal Government that the soil is clean. We shall clean up the bananas and clean up the soil”, he added.

In a related development, a former Deputy Speaker of the Federal House of Representatives, Chibudum Nwuche has said Governor Amaechi would be made to account for all the allocations he had received.

Nwuche accused Governor Amaechi of playing politics with fund meant for the state.

“What pains me most is that somebody we freely gave a mandate to and placed in Government House has forsaken the state and going on adventures.

“He has bought a plane. He will carry journalists and they will go to a place called Songhai Farms, they will go to one medical centre, they will go to one school. They go to one school all the time as if we have no schools before.

“How can you spend over N3 trillion only on schools and medical centres. I challenge our Governor to a debate. He should come out and account to the people what he has been doing with our money for the past 6years”, he said.

Nwuche who is also the immediate past acting National Deputy Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, tasked the people of the state to support President Goodluck Jonathan in the 2015 general election.

The banana plantation is one of the major agricultural projects of the Rivers State government, which is jointly owned by Union De Initiative SA DE CV of Mexico and has taken about the sum of N10 billion.

What a shame!
Is this what politics is all about?
These people go about threatening the peace of the state, the police does nothing about it. The same police is quick to clamp down on other gatherings whether political or not.
The more reason why GEJ will never be re-elected come 2015.
Ogoni people over to you, are you going to allow a 2 time senator who has nothing to show for it and a power drunken minister deceive you. We sure do know who means well for the Ogonis.

Considering Wike's growing influence in Rivers State, Amaechi made a big mistake of nominating him as a minister thinking that would weaken his structure within Rivers State. Amaechi is interested in the Senatorial seat in 2015 and Wike is also interested in the same seat hence the unending battles.

The First Lady wants one of the Sekibos

NB: These are my thoughts and are in no way
statements of fact.

Wike intends to be governor not a senator. The fight has not yet started, yes Pej wants any of the sekibo's. But Wike is so fixated on becoming governor. After they have used Wike , will he give up his ambitions for sekibo's?

Jonathan not in New York with 600-man delegation – Abati
on september 22, 2013 at 10:29 pm in news
Reuben Abati Special Adviser to the President (Media & Publicity) has denied reports that the President is leading a 600-man delegation to the 68th Session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York.
Abati made this known in a statement which reads thus
‘We have noted with regret the continuation today by Saharareporters.com of its usual scurrilous and baseless attacks on the Jonathan Administration with publication of a false claim that the President is leading a 600-man delegation to the 68th Session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York.
While we trust that discerning members of the public who are already very familiar with Sahara Reporters’ usual fare of mischief, outright falsehood and erroneous speculation will rightly dismiss this latest claim as a fresh manifestation of the online medium’s ill-will towards President Jonathan and his administration, we wish to affirm for the benefit of the unwary that there is absolutely no truth in the allegation that the President took a 600-man delegation to New York.
There is also no substance to the rehashed charge of profligacy which Sahara reporters annually makes against the President when he leads Nigeria’s delegation to the UN General Assembly.
The truth is that less than 30 persons arrived in New York with the President this morning as members of his entourage. Other than them, the only other persons who are in New York for the UN General Assembly with the President’s knowledge and approval are relevant ministers and few essential aides.
President Jonathan’s official delegation is definitely not out of proportion with Nigeria’s size, role and relevance in Africa and the global community.
Sahara Reporters’ claim that the President’s delegation is the largest at this year’s General Assembly is an unjustifiable fabrication which can never stand any rigorous test of truthfulness.
We are certainly aware that many Nigerian citizens are currently on visits to New York. These persons are here for their own purposes and neither President Jonathan nor his administration has any responsibility for the presence of these persons in New York.
We will not be surprised if it is such persons who include Nigerian businessmen who are here for an African Business Roundtable event, members of non-governmental organizations and tourists that Sahara Reporters has been counting, for the sole purpose of mischief-making, as “members of the Nigerian delegation”.

Abati has indirectly confirmed SR story.
What i understand from the denial:
GEJ's official delegation is 30
There are other ministers and essential aides who are there on GEJ's approval. (maybe about 200)
"There are other businessmen, Ngo members and tourists.
Certainly every other person who travelled with them will be lumped under the last group because they actually have no business in the UNGA but sight seeing.
