989900: So, if the system is rigged with saboteurs and racketeers, and the CBN whose primary assignment is to stabilize the Naira is implicated for connivance and incompetence, and the presidency too, then we either stick with perpetual pauperization, or change managers and board with our only right as it is: the vote. No. We change the system. There is round-tripping of dollar just like there was for fuel because the govt decided to subsidize the dollar (A.K.A. Defend the Naira) by flooding the market with low priced dollar. They do this via CBN and Commercial banks who just like PPPRA, NNPC, Marketers. & other officials in petrol distribution are corrupt. Change the system by stopping the subsidy. Buhari attempted to partially stop Dollar subsidy to inspire local production but was blamed by same set of people you are emphasizing here because it didn't favour them. |

As much as PDP's allegations cannot be taken seriously without evidence, the forex fraud is definitely on big time and kicking, and that is a big shame on Emefiele and Buhari . . . same guys that are quick to run their smelly mouth heaping the blame on the people's alleged thirst for foreign goods . |

If Forex turns out to be the undoing of Buhari and APC it is because of the deep ignorance about the issue of how our own Forex system works. |

scribble: News reaching 247reporters suggest that telco firm Etisalat is struggling with deep financial issues as a result of Buhari's economic policies
Some sources within the company said contract staff and vendors to the firm are being owed several months arrears with the management of the telco firm oblivious on how to pay its debts.
Several contractors to the company said anytime they demanded payment from company officials, they would be stalled with no explanation given, save for "oga its bot peculiar to only you".
Etisalat is said to be suffering seriously as one of the stakeholders in the company is a close ally of former President Goodluck Jonathan and was instrumental in his 2015 campaign.
The company is being marginalized by Buhari's government on two fronts, as the subsidiary Etisalat Nigeria has been barred from repatriating profits back to its parent company in the UAE.

OFFICIAL336: Propaganda is a political tool, an important aspect of modern warfare, there is currently no civil war between the SW and SE, but why the SW have refused to move on even after over 40 years of war is what many are still struggling to gasp.
Though Nigeria is not at war, but one might think the reason for various propagandas is to make sure the SE don't leave the Union. Keeping the Igbos in Nigeria is a struggle for average Yorubas, a war they must win. A war they have carried on their head even more than the Hausa-Fulanis, who even have more to lose in case of separations. This desperation had made them over the years to churn out various propagandas, propagandas the SE had never failed for once to burst, propagandas that had only succeeded in achieving the opposite, cementing the SE collective resolve to seek for self determination and take charge of their political future.
Now, the latest propaganda is arrogantly ascribing to themselves 70% control of the Nigerian ICT industry. A propaganda I have taken upon myself to quash while waiting for the Igbos to lend credence to this.
Below are list of major SE players in the ICT industry. Before I proceed it is worthy to point out an important observation; while the SW tends to have marginal advantage in the number of players in the industry, the SE have the largest market share (revenue). The same way Nairaland has all the traffics and LindaIkeji blog pockets the money.
While some people will question my objectivity because of my connection with the Igbos (throught my fiancee), the facts I present below are verifiable. Am not doing this for my fiancee, but for truth, for posterity and the right thing.

Johnnyessence: the economic downturn is excruciating so hard to the masses, it's not a blessing maybe it is a blessing only to the political class.lalasticlala kindly do d needful fp pls. It is a blessing. Before oil prices crumbled our govt was in the habit of taking excess dollar from oil sales and using it satisfy importer need at a low rate. This practice of flooding the FX market with low priced dollar kept the price of dollar down and made life unbearable for exporters who earned dollar b4 converting it to Naira on one hand and help keep price of goods down on the other hand. The hardship is educating folks gradually. Look at Osun state. Who would av known how bad the debt situation is? |

The blowing up of oil pipe line and installations is now helping to remove scales from their eye's to see that a mono economy is doom.I am happy for this development because it will help the neglected sectors to grow.Believe it or not, Nigeria can survive without oil,and will certainly do better without oil. They should not only blow up the pipe line's, let them blow up the oil wells it's a blessing for the growth of other sectors.we have being waiting for this paradigm shift for a better economy. Thank God indeed. |

Debonair01: THIS IS GOING TO BE THE FIRST TIME I WILL VOICE THIS OUT.
THE PROBLEM WITH OUR POWER SECTOR IS SAME AS ALL SECTORS OF THIS COUNTRY. "THE PEOPLE OF NIGERIA - YOU AND I". THINK ABOUT IT FOR A MOMENT, WHAT SECTOR HAS EVER WORKED IN NIGERIA? OTHER THAN TELCOMS (WHICH I DONT BELEVE WORKS PROPERLY SEF)
WE AS A PEOPLE HAD/HAV A FAILED NITEL, A DECAYED CIVIL SERVICE, I COMATOSE AGRIC SECTOR, A DEAD STEEL AND MINES... YOU CAN ADD YOURS.
IF WE DO NOT CHANGE AS A PEOPLE... ALL WE CAN ACHIEVE IS COSMETIC SOLUTION THAT CANNOT STAND THE TEST OF TIME. THE WAY WE DO THINGS, THE WAY WE THINK, THE WAY WE MANAGE OUR RESOURCES, I DARE SAY WE ARE DOOMED. Have you ever wondered what takes place in initiations into most group these day? It all boils down to the unseen evil seed being planted into people one way or the other. If we don't strengthen institutions beyond the grip of groups who are dominating us secretly and keep allowing secret groups dominate our system even the hitherto neutral folks will have to embrace corruption to survive. It isn't hard to see why nothing works. |

The cocoa, palm oil, groundnut, cotton exporters have been discourage by the $ subsidy over time. Get it? You will soon start hearing of them again. Just imagine neting $10,000 from cocoa at N500/$. The infrastructures to be built should have a direct impact on the industrial hubs. Example, a deep seaport in either Akwa Ibom or Calabar should be targeted at the petrochemical industrial hub of Niger delta and clothes manufacturing hub of ABA for export to central Africa.
Lets not forget giving grants and single digit loans to the manufacturers.
