What are u saying? before the election, most people agreed that Nigeria was experiencing difficulties, we did not beg buhari to contest for election buhari came forward and said 'am the change u want* and he promised to repair Nigeria. So why blamed everything on GEJ era, we all know the country was going bad, he promised to repaired, instead of repairing the country,he is busy making noise ,if e cannot do anything meaningful instead of blaming GEJ administration, he should simply resign

Just like this scenario

Politics › Re: Why The South Is Afraid Of Oil Discovery In The North by Standing5(m): 7:29pm On Aug 12, 2016
Victorvexz:
The greatest fear of the south is the discovery of oil in the north. The discovery of oil in commercial quantity, will change Nigeria forever. Just like how the Arab world is preventing Shia majority Iran from developing nuclear weapons, that they will use to blackmail neighboring Arab countries, that is how the south is praying day and night for oil not to be discovered in the north, because they know that if oil is found in the north, all their insults against northerners will stop immediately, all their black mail, and threats, will stop immediately, because they know they can't do any thing any longer. Oil in the north will stop them from holding Nigeria to ransom. Oil in the north will stop Niger delta militancy forever, even without negotiation or war with the militants, because the militants know they can't blackmail the government anymore because the government will already have an alternative.
They will come here and be boasting, but deep down they are so afraid and angry of the prospect of discovering in the north, because it will make us all equal, nobody will have an advantage against the other, and that is what the southerners fear.
How old are you?

Those points are a cause for retardation....moreso the discovery of oil in Chad basin will not impact on the developmental aspirations of Nigeria... Buhari needs to be disciplined for us to get to our destination. All I see him doing is a change of the looters from the south with those from the north.... That's all!
Well that's what you see but I know it doesn't exist. The people you call looters aren't.

And while you are here defending Buhari...need I remind you that he has ordered that oil exploration begin in the North-East?

Just when we are supposed to seriously be talking about diversification, our President is looking for oil in the NE...the same oil that has lost value oh...the same one that has landed us in trouble oh...the same resources that we do not have is what they are using to explore for oil oh....

Got any defense for this too? Just admit it, this administration lacks focus, for reasons unknown to us!
While I share your sentiments, let me point out to you that there are positives in the decision to explore oil further. One major problem we av today is vandalism. Why build thousands of miles of pipeline or transmission lines when we can explore oil up north and sell or use a the need arises? The ND needs this move too, because when next the issue of oil derivation fund struggle is raised they will naturally have more states(Lagos, Borno) and regions(NE) on their side.

How is the government being prudent financially?
A government that is committing $40 billion dollars to oil exploration in the Chad basin instead of diversifying the economy from oil?
A government that still subsidizes pilgrimages at the expense of taxpayers?

A government that only got an economic adviser in it's second year in office?
Maybe am missing something....
I agree with the bold points but that doesn't change the fact that he has stopped many similar mismanagement pattern inherited. Buhari has improved the system drastically with limited resource. It may take time but the change in direction is undeniable.

Nigeria is doing pretty well if we consider the fact that over 90% of our foreign exchange is dependent on oil sales. The financial prudence of this administration is commendable.
They almost berbeque me on the other thread for pointing out how buhari postponed and reducing the doomsday effect dwindling oil prices. Same derailmemt of public opinion that couldn't return them to power with all oil windfall at their disposal is what they are banking on to kickstart their next campaign. Pathetic lot.

I have followed the 'he has scored 120%' drama very closely and discovered that its beginning to become another 'I Stand with Buhari' crusade.

But, someone asked a vital question yesterday from those of you who are mouth-running about his 120% performance: If Nigeria is broke because of oil selling at $45/barrel, why is Saudi Arabia not in recession?

I'll leave you to answer that while I attend to more pressing matters.
I already answered that n have many mentions for that correct three-point answer. Read page 1 & 2 on the thread about why Nigerians are suffering very well and get my message clear please. My points were;
1) They saved and invest diversely during their days of excess.
2) They are far less corrupt.
3) Their average cost of producing oil is less than $10pb while ours is $28.99pb. That tell you that they make ~$20 more per barrel and even oil sold for as low as $25pb they can make profit we currently making(USD45PB) while we can't even make a cent of profit on the average. Point 3 is easily verifiable from Wall Street Journal (WSJ). Google it out.
Nigeria on the other hand can't process crude efficiently or refine same.
Politics › Re: God Bless Buhari! by Standing5(m): 2:56am On Aug 12, 2016
Buhari has postponed the hardship as well as drastically reduce its magnitude. He has scored 120% already. At $100pb+ we were borrowing to pay salary but at less than $45pb- , the FG is paying salary with ease. If imported or import dependent commodity are expensive then it is because Nigerians aren't producing and exporting goods and not directly a result of crude price crash. Sai Buhari.

After election in saner countries inhabited by saner peoples, no sane person talks about losers and winners of the election again.

But ignoramuses of Nigeria continue to talk about losers in an election conducted about 17 months ago in Nigeria.

As you still talk about losers, you heighten the suspicion that APC is an alliance of groups to win presidential election in order to hold down other groups that do not sing from the same hymn book with APC leadership.
Just tell PDP to return the billions they are using to confuse your likes. It isn't their money but Nigeria's. Saudi Arabia saved $500B and it helped them, where is Nigeria's.

So how much did the FG under GEJ end up saving?

SuperPanther:
FFK is so on point.

We all know that the only reason why the northerners are always quick to shout "One Naijeriya" is because of crude oil in the South.

I dare say that if the oil had been in the north all this while as it has been in the south, the north would have asked for Arewanistan Republic and asked the infidel south to get lost.

I pray they find more than enough oil in their region to be honest.

Even the Civil war was fought because of crude oil as confirmed by Benjamin Adekunle before he died and regretted being used to fight just to keep crude oil for the hausa/fulani to drink.

There's so much injustice in this country.
If you know your history you will know that Adekunle's people n region were ready to break off as far back as 1957 but some persons decided it would be better they stay behind and help the hausa/fulani drink oil.

That assertion by the baker was made under during buhari's era with a significance that improver was no longer provided to sustain the production of bread with cassava. this indicates that buhari's govt breached on their agreement with the association to provide improver. Now the bakers are have resorted to using expensive flours for baking of bread.
I see your point now. But why subsidize improver?
