PoliticsRe: Bandits Block Highway In Zamfara, Kidnap Passengers In Two Loaded Buses by Standing5(m):
There was a report about a soldier who disguised as a passenger to catch kidnapping terrorists unaware sometimes ago under Buhari. I think in 2022. I wonder what has happened to that very effective tactic of giving terrorists a bloody nose.

Victor had reasonable offers but wanted a killer wage. The type that made lukaku not want to run at chelsea. He should go and do drugs if he wants €11m

PoliticsRe: Lagos Coastal Road:Tinubu Supporter Makes U-turn, Calls Funsho Doherty "Chinedu" by Standing5(m): 9:37pm On Aug 31, 2024
Zico5:
Tinubu is just an insensitive president. You are building roads when your people are hungry. Isn't that strange on it's own. Even Buhari is not this bad. For how many years will people continue to wait for this fool to make things right. This man will surely pay for the suffering he is making masses to pass through.
Emefiele didn't do a quarter of this before we hated him from all angles. Convenient amnesia.
Jobs/VacanciesRe: Do You Think Nigerian Workers Deserve This Kind Of Treatment? (photo) by Standing5(m): 1:04am On Aug 30, 2024
What is our per capita GDP compared to theirs?
You want to reward idle hands with sleeping breaks when there is nothing to buy with money again?
PoliticsRe: Does Government Have Any Right To Force Marketers To Sell At Regulated Prices? by Standing5(m): 12:58am On Aug 30, 2024
iwaeda:
Does Government have any right to force marketers to sell at regulated prices?
No. Same man who takes a fixed cut of Lagos revenue thinks it is cool to force others to sell at ridiculous rates what they are buying or producing so expensively.
FoodRe: FG Gives Traders One Month To Crash Prices (picture) by Standing5(m): 12:52am On Aug 30, 2024
Mariangeles:
Or what? Should they sell at losses?
The only way to crash prices is to flood the market with excess produce/supplies.
Tanzania and other wise nations are doing that in reality to crash prices while Tinubu thinks he can blame the system for everything. Where is the audio dry season harvest they shouted about late 2023? Nowhere to be found.

TemplarLandry:
grin
Disappointed the yearly crash of price was defied under your content creating masters? Demand and supply moves prices freely and not useless ultimatums.
FoodRe: FG Gives Traders One Month To Crash Prices (picture) by Standing5(m): 12:48am On Aug 30, 2024
The expected drop in prices that comes yearly as a result of harvest is simply not good enough and these people think issuing bold ultimatum is the way out.
I pity Nigerians under this Tinubu admin.
Serious nations are increasing production while ours is all about threatening bad results with power.

Bello described the commission’s finding that a fruit blender known as Ninja was being sold at a popular supermarket in Texas for 89 dollars (N140,000.00) but the same product was displayed for N944,999.00 in a supermarket in Victoria Island, Lagos.
That's cos fruit blending is a luxury in a poverty capital. They are using isolated cases of luxury goods to justify their cataclysmic performance in agriculture. Spits!

PoliticsRe: Benin Republic, Niger Enjoy Smuggled Fuel As Nigerians Keep Vigil For Petrol by Standing5(m): 7:29am On Aug 24, 2024
If they remove subsidy and sell for 1800 it is going for around us, they will use the funds to do a dormant highway at interest rates we will have to pay.
PoliticsRe: Man Goes Off On A Rant After Discovering That Son Of New CJN Is An Obidient by Standing5(m):
Useless rant. The son exercised his right and not the loyalty syndrome common among the poor. If LP had been given the mandate, that APC mother will be covered by now, that's how the rich roll. Independently and not poverty-inspired loyalty.
EducationRe: 22,500 Nigerians Have Fake Certificates From Benin, Togo — Education Minister by Standing5(m): 7:16am On Aug 24, 2024
nairalanda1:
Basically, we don't have enough universities for those who want a uni education. Which is why JAMB brought in UTME...it was their subtle way of telling NIgerians that 1) not everyone is cut out for university education 2) there aren't enough spaces anyway in university 3) why not try a polytechnic or college of education ? It is also why we have had private universites for the past two decades.

Also, the only way to get a job in NIgeria that pays well....have a university degree. Hence the issue.
always forming analyst. Phone repair technicians who make close a million abound.

Demand of degree certificates is not a strong justification for compromising standard by the way.
EducationRe: 22,500 Nigerians Have Fake Certificates From Benin, Togo — Education Minister by Standing5(m):
What about local certificates? How can we know so much about foreign schools yet have nothing to say about local schools? I wont accept the figures until I see how they arrived at it.

PoliticsRe: With Under-recovery Of 50%, Why Do Marketers Want Dangote To Sell At N600? by Standing5(op): 4:16pm On Aug 22, 2024
trutharena:
They want to make Dangote sell at a loss.
Knowing that petrol cost more from refineries around the globe, they want to secure it cheap irrespective of whether NNPCL is the importer so turned to arguably the next major source and resort to rough tactics of poisoning the minds of Nigerians.
PoliticsRe: Bandits Kill 13 Farmers In Niger State by Standing5(m):
Yet these so called bandits remain elusive to law enforcement agents. Nigeria is a crime in motion. Not even the recent hunger protest could turn the heart of the govt guys to go after these monsters.
Someone was saying the protests have inspired leaders to start listening to the people. That was a big fat lie.

PoliticsRe: Dangote Refinery Taking Less American Crude by Standing5(m): 9:17am On Aug 22, 2024
Better for all. Imagine situation where we farm yam, take it to Cyprus in Europe to process and pound it, go to England to buy microwave oven and then to Malta to package before bring them all back to eat hot pounded yam.
Now someone decides to start pounding yam in huge volume locally to save forex and employ local hands, but the pounded yam importers are angry. They mismanaged the govt pounding machines and tell us they cannot be fixed forever but are always eager for govt to do TurnAroundMaintainance so they can further eat fat from lack of processed yams or pounded yam.

God bless Dangote.

PoliticsSuggestion: Referendum Should Be Held For Projects And Debts In Africa by Standing5(op):
Seem the masses have no control over how debt that affects them are incurred and the kind of projects executed with the debts in Africa.
I suggest there be Referendum to determine if debt be incurred and for the projects.
Looking around africa, we see projects with little impact being executed with huge debts that becomes huge repayment burden to all.

Before any major debt is incurred and major project embarked upon, the wider populace be allowed to vote whether the project is worth it and should be done or not.

some are. Egypt used to.
That still doesn't change the idea of false giants we have conferred on ourselves.
