Bro, just try and get pre-paid meter, I think that's just the best!
They intentionally hoard the prepaid meter to allow them do estimate billing that's outrageous. People may start lynching NEPA officials as from now on. Tempers are high all over the nation. The DISCOs are trying to negotiate outrageous rate that's choking customers.

Under the constitution, the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) must hand over its oil revenue – which makes up about 70 percent of total income – and money is then paid back based on a budget approved by parliament.
But the act establishing the state oil company allows it to cover costs before remitting funds to the government.

That's like fetching water into a basket. Our govt leaks fund more than a basket leaks water. Block the leakages first before putting money into the leaders' hands.
Politics › Re: Opinion: Estimated Billing Is The Bane Of Electricity Supply In Nigeria. by Standing5(m):
You 've spoken well OP. With estimated billing the DISCOs will simple be happy to, incur the lowest possible running cost, by cutting off power supply for as long as possible, and then show up with the usual estimated bill. The first task of Fashola is to bring sanity by seeing to the adaption of prepaid meter which puts a stop to estimated billing. Increasing tarrif blindly the way they attempted it shows he is taking power plant logic to be Lagos flower planting adventure.
Next is putting it straight to the power generation units and DISCOs that Nigerians cannot be subsidizing their ineffeciency. In India they were able to get solar power to their DISCOs at less than N20/kwh (@N320/$ rate). Let them seat up or forfeit the assets.
Politics › Re: Why Shouldn't The Christian Chibok Girls Be Searched For In Palaces Of Emirs? by Standing5(m): 10:44pm On Mar 16, 2016
I agree with OP. They should also check GEJ howetown. With the money he was supervising the disappearance of, he would av favoured the girls going missing forever.
Politics › Re: How True Is This Caption? by Standing5(m): 10:38pm On Mar 16, 2016
Imagine GEJ running Nigeria with oil at $35pb. No more amnesty,NNPC sold, taxes triple, cassava bread being imposed and BH in over 150 LGAs. Who wants an IB like that. Cassava bread and Otuoke fish would av made him feel like it was biblical thing he was fulfilling.

How will agriculture generate forex for you?
Same way it did for Brazil and Nigeria in the past. When you have enuf food on your table you can sell the excess to nations who don't farm either as raw material or as finished product like the tomatoes we import from China. If things gets rough you starve your customers to feed yourself first. It is called food security.

Sharap and never quote my comment if you are not here to learn from people with facts and information privy to only the ruling caucus who knows no political divide.

Do you know what it cost to build a global transmission infrastructure Nigeria operate instead of the new generation captive system as recommended by experts for a country like Nigeria?
Oh so because of cost implication the IB choose to secretly expand generation capacity. Where did you get this electric brain from?
That is like a farmer saying because the capacity to transfer his harvest onwards to his customer is limited, he chose to increase planting and cultivation with guaranteed increased wastage in view. PDP killer Logic Obiagelli and co pls come see sumtin oh.
Politics › Re: Breakimg News-bokoharm Landmines Kill 15 In Borno by Standing5(m): 4:30pm On Mar 16, 2016
They could plant landmines because we had a loot sharing and ineffectual admin who allowed them all the time and comfort to do that and even to the extent that soldies ran away from confronting BH. Thank God the IB is gone. I trust Buhari admin to supervise the 'acquisition' of up-to-date equipments that will detect and disarm most of those landmines.
Politics › Re: Power Distribution Firms Reject Supply From Generating Plants by Standing5(m): 4:23pm On Mar 16, 2016
LadyExcellency:
The capacity to generate is different from the actual power generated.

The handover document to APC by GEJ's administration contains a paragraph stipulating that we have the capacity to generate 12000Mw already but the gas infrastructure and transmission networks are still inadequate hence the new government should work on them as to deliver the output to the final consumers.
Stop distorting public perception of situation with lies. You mean Gej admin built up generating capacity up to 5,000MW, 6,000MW, 7,000MW, 8,000MW, 9,000MW, 10,000MW, . . . . . 12,000MW without increasing transmission capacity and your are the only privy to this information? Chai . . . . There is God oh!

I want to believe that the message by the OP is not written in French or Arabic.

The issue is no longer about power generation , we are talking about discos rejecting light that are supposed to be distributed to the customers.

I think their plan is that; they would accept small power ( to reduce their payment to the Gencos) and rationalise it among their numerous customers and at the end of the month, they would share bill as usual demanding for payment of full month power supply.

The sabotage is everywhere in this country and instead of Nigerians to wake-up to fight our common enemies, they would be shouting, Buhari, APC, PDP ..........
The availability of prepaid meter would av greatly reduced this pattern of rip-off. Couldn't agree less with your submission. 100% accurate.

I just learnt something new!

The Discos and the Gecos are two different key players in the electricity value Chain!
And much more

I believe the government should look into overhauling the transmission companies they have a reason why the reject allocations, it's either they aren't making much revenue from their consumer hence they fall below target or other issues arising from Epileptic maintenance of their plants..
Why did they suddenly stop making so much money from their customer? What exactly has changed? May be the few imported component and parts they import with dnllar is suddenly eating up all their profits? May be . . .

sweetgala:
Hypocrisy at it's best, you obviously do not comprehend the issue well.

The evil of rape which is endemic in the South East and somewhat is the SS and SW is far greater than an elopement.

We are yet to receive any qualitative information of systematic mass abductions of minors beyond the activities of BH.

We have many young ladies being killed, and murdered South of the Niger in their hundreds daily by their fellow clans people. A total betrayal of trust and allegiance.

People like you pay it no mind, it's not your family member of friend that has been raped after all and their is no tribal gain or an opportunity to insult those northerners.

God is watching you all in 3D
There is no profit in feigning stùpidity. Ese mother was against the union why did the Islamic cult not seek approval? Her mother was hounded and threatened in kano while Ese too confessed to being unable speak when she saw her mother in Kano. You call all that elopement. Even if she truly eloped she is still a minor.

If corruption is our greatest challenge then Buhari is the best option. GEJ is good as system man chicken doctor.

axfix:
Buhari is better of as EFCC chairman than the President of Nigeria. His passion is more on fighting corruption than offering quality leadership.
