All wrecked by the losses made from subsidising petrol.

You have to.make a.profit selling refined products

Oga, i am.no apc or pdp fan. And as far as i know apc should have been voted out this time.
who owns the profit making organisation (NNPCL) in this case? The generality of the people or those in power? So you support increase in price against yourself.

Redoil:
Same way when the past regime of President Goodluck Jonathan wanted to remove and rid Nigeria of this economic monster 13 years ago, but all you demons in the APC vehemently opposed him only to perpetuate the same fraudulent fuel subsidy then lied of removing it again and again. Bunch of fucktards and retards.
Truth is that, subsidy deserves to stay but the successive govt have been fiscally reckless and when pressed financially, prefer petrol subsidy removal over many options that can conserve money and help deliver the much talked about infrastructure. Education subsidy is there. Forex subsidy is alive too. While these subsidies are selective in terms of beneficiaries, petrol subsidy is far more evenly spread and effective.
PoliticsRe: Two Step Quick Explanation On Fuel Subsidy by Standing5(m):
Weak and senseless propaganda.

NigerianAngelo:
1. Govt imports fuel at N600/L.

2. Pays about N400/L out of it to sell it to Nigerians at N200/L.

Foolishness?
Yes . Acute foolishness.
No need for many senseless debate but one question please.
Who is the owner of the N400 being used to subsidize the fuel? The few people in govt or generality of people using the cheap petrol?

What have you produce?
You should start by example or you think BMC posts can earn forex? It cannot so start.

The Federal government should go and be inventive about generating forex through exports and stop this shamelessly dubious attempt at dictating to people and corporations. It's not the job of the government to lecture folks on how to manage their resources, especially when the said feds have failed woefully and repeatedly on issues like making good fiscal and monetary policies. The solid mineral sector alone is capable of shoring up the forex problems of the country but crooks, herdsmen and Jihadists are allowed to solidly control this sector while ripping off the country... It's insane...
Exactly. They think economics is all about chesslike movement of money or some game of monopoly. It is about production and the moment they impeded production of crop for cattle's to blossom, the problem worsened. If I have cotton buds and nice chocolates locally produced will I ever need forex to import one? Same thing for other items like milk, palm oil, and poultry.

It seems stupidity runs in the Obanikoro family. This fool studied Political science and ended up as a fish farmer breeding Tilapia and catfish before becoming an House of Reps Member.

Because he has spent 2 years feeding on government money just like his failure of a father, he thinks he's in a position to give stupid advice on currency and the economy. I don't blame him. It is that bald failure in the CBN who has given nonentities like this Obanikoro mouth to talk. If Emefiele did his job well, fish farmers won't be passing bills on Bank accounts.
please, what was emefiele suppose to do to arrest the forex situation?

The vast majority of the folks who fervently defend online Buhari are Yorubas. The vast majority of southerners who populate BMC are Yorubas. Enoch Adeboye, William Kumuyi and Iyin Aboyeji - all of whom are rich and influential Christians - are at the forefront in defending Buhari and El-Rufai. The vast majority of southerners who campaigned (some sponsored jingles on radio) and voted for Buhari in 2015 were Yorubas, most of whom are Christians. Same Yoruba Christians parried the accusations that Buhari will work towards the Islamisation of Nigeria because a pastor from the RCCG (a Yoruba majority church) was his vice. Same Yoruba Christians have been mysteriously silent regarding the ongoing slaughtering and extermination of Christians in Northern Nigeria. Heck, Iyin Aboyeji - son of the GO of Foursquare Gospel Church - categorised these killings of women, men and children (and even foetuses) as "little genocides"

These are facts and they don't care about your feelings. I was brought up and trained to state things the way they are regardless of anyone's feelings.

So cry today, cry tomorrow and next millennium, Yoruba Christians contributed immensely to the ongoing Islamisation of Nigeria.
All what you wrote applied to Johnathan in 2011. Same too for helping GEJ take charge after his oga became vegetative.

We are here to remind them. Just as we did when they campaigned and voted Buhari in 2015, we would repeat ourselves by saying we "warned you". Shame on Yoruba Christians who joined with jihadists in removing Jonathan (I don't care what anyone says about me based on that sentence).
If at this stage in life, you are still stereotyping people forcefully and erroneously just to try and see if the will deliver some phantom block votes, then you're irredeemable.

If the so called thieves made money, will they ever rob? Truth is they aren't thieves but ritualists and probably worked for big men. Robbery is just a convenient cover to kill two birds with a stone.

finnacle2020:
With each passing day the cost of items in the market are going up and many mothers are finding it difficult to buy items from the market. Here are some few tips to assist mothers :

1. Have a budget and list of items needed in the house
2. Buy items in bulk like buying beans, rice and tomato that will last 3-6months.
3. Look for alternatives to expensive items like buying potato instead of yam, Napkin instead of pampers
4. look for other sources of income
5. Stop looking at your neighbors food

please nairalanders you can add your own
You forgot to add that when bought in bulk, items that can be easily consumed should be kept away from naked eye to avoid consumption out of boredom.

The other day, it was a Sokoto lawmaker complaining that Bokoharam have taken over his constituency, today it's Niger governor. Still yet, no State of Emergency declared by the govt. Terr0rists have infiltrated the security agencies... it's a pity cause, they will soon start controlling and hosting their flags in Abuja.
What is Boko Haram? It is just a northern ploy to consolidate grip on the south by giving amnesty to religious fanatics.

Why should middlemen beat the govt to get to the farmers first? That tells us the govt isn't up and doing. Govt normally buys and keep in national food reserve.
