In a market, in order to determine prices, buyers and sellers haggle (forex market inclusive)
Since banks' rates are scary, the thread is in 100% order. Everybody can decipher exchange rates from the hourly offers and acceptance here on this thread and such window as this should be encouraged in order to bypass the grievous Central Bank monopoly on Forex and attendant harsh effect on entrepreneurs.
What we do here is valid in principle and law, so whether banks or forexlanders here, let's continue. Thanks

Ok. Thanks. One more thing, I tried download using IDM with Airtel unlimited 1hr browsing and it refused downloading. I used Airtel's IP address and port number but yet it refused downloading via IDM only via the download option in browsers. Do you know what I do to make IDM start working with Airtel like other people's own?

Remove all I.P address settings from IDM. It should work without proxy. Cheers!

Well, i have a high end computer.
6th Generation Intel Core i5-6300HQ CPU (Skylake),
4GB Dedicated NVIDIA GTX 960M GPU,
1TB HDD with 8GB SSD Cache memory,
8GB DDR3L 1600MHz RAM,
3 USB 3.0 Ports,
Backlit Keyboard,
Webcam, Bluetooth and all that good stuff yh.

Mine is a Dell Inspiron 15 7000 Series (7559).

You should be able to get it around 250K. But considering it's around $800 in the US. Then just budget around 300K thereabout.

If your only concern is just 1TB HDD. Then get an external around 25K i guess.
If you just need a 1TB laptop regardless of the other specs, Just north of 100K should be enough. I guess...

I've been like that for years and I don't think I'll stop being like that. I have always been a heavy data user. I don't have dstv instead I have apple TV with Hulu, Netflix and other channels subscription. So I have to rely on Internet to stream videos and movies smoothly. And I've been doing that for years now. Also for a very long time I've always watched every football match online in my sitting room. And if I'm not home I easily watch live matches on my mobile phone. So for me unlimited Internet is not just for movies alone. It's like basically my life.

Ahhh!!! The good life!

According to what i read on their site, and what they told me on Twitter. After the first 3 months, you can only use 3GB sometimes between 7am and 8pm. I don't know the exact time. During that time when u pass 3GB the speed is reduced drastically so u can't download no more but between 8pm and 7am u can download unlimited without trottling.

Just because you have access to 100 pieces of meat don't mean u MUST eat it all. Download what u want to download, what you need to download. Nobody said it's a do or die affair. It's possible, don't mean it's probable. It's better to have it there when u don't need it than to not have it when you need it.

I just said like 2 seconds ago. NO THROTTLING for the first 3 months of usage. (See pic below)

And u know it's only on Peak periods yes? Which means sometime between 7pm and 9am daily u can download as much as u want.

Bruv, they haven't started operation in Lagos yet. I wrote it in the post. They are only selling in Abuja at the moment. They will start in Lagos in a few days according to a mail their customer care sent me. Then PHC follows soon after.

I've heard of the data zapping thing but never believed it. Every time i pay for Airtel plan, i always monitor it ising the huawei router app, and it always gets to the exact data. Like currently i have a 4.5GB plan running and I've used around 3.5GB and it's still working. I'm into the last 1GB

And IPNX fiber in my office, at speed no 4GLTE can never March.

Lol. Don't compare fibre optics and this one. I was also paying 4K for 40GB on Spectranet as at February. Byt that was night and weekends 10pm to 8am. Spectranet got really slow also. Here in Lagos anyways. Then they decided it was a good idea to double the price. Kmt.

Something that would not last. Imagine someone wickedly downloading 22gb of illegal data... nigerians have the skills to misuse every good thing given to them.. an average whiteman cannot use 27gb a month and they have internet unlimited for years now. Look at this Nigerian, he was given it for just a few days and he is already thinking of downloading the world.. very unfair!

We saying the exact same thing with different worlds. Because it's not common here that's why the 'opportunity' should be taken with both arms. Even both feet! Because this is Nigeria, we know it can go away as easily as it came.
If we are used to unlimited internet, if it wasn't so much of a luxury... Then maybe we won't think of taking it 'personal' while using it.

On a final note, I'm friends with so many white tech guys. I know people that use tens of GBs daily. Hundreds on some days.

3K for 1 week. 10K for 1 month. Even compared to what Swift, Smile and Spectranet are doing at a slower rate. I think it's the best option. If you can get good reception and whatnot.
