Randerl:Lol. Voodoo network. Wats ur own Location? They are only in Abuja now. But Lagos is next and PH shortly after. Then I'm guessing places like Ibadan, Onitsha and Calabar won't be far behind. Pangea:Lol ok. U not in naija i guess.. Well, hopefully it hasn't gone to shxt by then. This is Nigeria afterall. |
slightlyMad:Exactly! The whole thread has gone to shxt! |
Pangea:Lol. I'm telling you. The calculation ehn! Do u use Ntel yet? |
phizz:It worked? Well. That's nice to know. ![]() |
TDonald:Okay.
|
jheed:For now, no. But who knows. There might be in the future. |
@TDonald Ntel download speeds. And i can assure you 100% it wasn't tested on Mars.

For those who don't know Ntel, it's a telecommunications company that provides 4G LTE-A Internet at 'arguably' affordable rates. I guess the idea of this thread is to focus on the 'arguably'. -They are currently only active in Abuja but Lagos and PH are very close, according to their customer care, lagos is only a few days away- I did some simulations and calculations of how much you how much data you can pull using Ntel. Realistically and Mathematically. Keeping in mind that you'll use Ntel for purely downloading purposes. I really don't think you need to consider Ntel if you don't do alot of downloading or huge data demanding activities online anyways. As the Reception can't backshift to 3G or 2G. U are also going to need a 4G capable device be it a phone or 4G USB/MiFi modem. Let me also add by saying, i am in NO WAY affiliated to Ntel. I'm neither a staff nor any marketer of any form, I'm just an I.T Guy and a 'Concerned Citizen' lol. Read below and tell me what you think. Realistically: Let's say the reception where u stay and/or work isn't so good, you still get around 5MB/s give or take. At the rate, u are doing 300MB/min and then 18GB/hr. Since we are being realistic, considering network fluctuations and what not. Realistically, we'll say you are doing 15GB/hr. And Realistically, you get to download 12 hrs in a day. Let's take work days for example when u go to work and u leave ur downloads to run in the background of ur computer while u work, even when u go for lunch break, it's still on ur table, in the office downloading. So 8am to 5pm. 9hrs. U get home at 7pm and continue. 3 more hours. 10pm u are tired u want to turn off ur computer and sleep (Realistically). That's our 12hr mark. 15GB x 12 = 180GB (1 day) In 3 days = 180 x 3 = 540GB. In 7 days = 180 x 7 = 1260GB. In 1 month = 180 x 30 = 5400GB. Let's just approximate it and chalk it down to uncertainty or other factors Realistically... 500GB for 3 days. 1.2TB in 1 week. 5TB in 1 month. Mathematically: You download for 24hrs a day and your network is perfect so steady 10MB/s. Let's assume it's a weekend or u on leave or you are jobless (lol). There's sha nothing stopping you from taking it personal because you want to must use it to the maximum. That and we being mathematical You leave ur downloads to run even while you asleep lol (i know I've done it many times - IDM scheduler FTW!)Which means u get 600MB/min and 36GB/hr For a day, mathematically and without factors 36GB x 24 = 864GB/day In 3 days = 864GB x 3 = 2.6 TB In 7 days = 864GB x 7 = 6.05TB In 1 month = 864GB x 30 = 25.9TB So... Even taking the mathematical scenario and mixing some real life factors like nepa and i don't know.. Anything else... I'll approximate also just less aggressively. Mathematically... 2.5TB in 3 days. 6TB in 1 week. 25TB in 1 month. So at least for the first 3 months when u get TRULY UNLIMITED and no fair usage to hold you back. 1K2 for 3 days 3K for 1 week 10K for 1 month Considering what you can 'possibly' gain... Is it expensive? - Share if you think my calculations and simulations are Genius. ![]() - Like if you think I'm Crazy! ![]() If you feel it's both, i think we are on the same side anyways. Loool. ![]() cc: honsule, toluxa1 |
Folakeme:What you call assumptions, i call factors. Which actually makes it more accurate. Insane, yh. Definitely. Delusional, what now?! |

Even taking the mathematical scenario and mixing some little real life factors like nepa and i don't know.. Anything else. It falls somewhere just above 2TB. So yes. You can achieve 2TB in 3 days. - Like if you think my calculations and simulations are Genius. - Share if you think I'm Crazy! If you feel I'm both, i think we are on the same side. Loool. |
A place where Virgins meet. LMFAO! |
repogirl:Lol. Snitches get Stitches. |
oluwafreshkid: Youngpo413:LMFAO! Please oh! What does Spectranet or Oasis Feng the dev of Greenify have to do with any of this? Nigerians funny oh! Loool. OP @CaptainEColeJnr that number 1 ehn! The way i hate that bullshxt! |
bizgenius1:Wat of daily limit? |
chinli:From what they told me on Twitter For the first 3 months, it's TRULY UNLIMITED. No Fair Usage. From what i read on their website While using after the 3 months period, fair usage of 3GB daily applies which means speed will be throttled after 3GB is used during 'ON PEAK' periods. On peak periods is like work hrs or the time when people communicate the most, hence network is more crowded, traffic is higher. So my guess is say 7 or 8am to 6pm or 7pm. So sometime around 6pm/7pm to 7am/8am. No fair usage. This is my own understanding of what i read, i don't know what the actual details are. |
Agbgift:She no even reach market. Na online she buy the trouble. |
Well, in the end... He'll get like 5 or 10M. End of case. |
Who UNION Bank epp? 20th Century Bank. Make ur card rates 199.5 then we will be happy for you. |
openmine:Lol. I was using Spectranet for about 6 months. I endured the bad speeds until they thought it was a good idea to double the price. I could get up to 3MB/s around 2am to say 5am. But during the day, at times it was even lower than 100KB/s. It was unbearable. Hopefully, Ntel stands the test of time. beautycrush24:I guess only time will tell. Lol. |
openmine:Lol i heard spectranet is really fast in PH. If you in a good location. |
donhils:HSPA is the + Cat 6 is the + 3G < HSPA (3G+) LTE < LTE Cat6. (LTE-A) Cat 4 is 150/50 Cat 6 is 300/150 Google 'LTE Cat6'. That is what shows up. Below.
|
AzontoGhost:They haven't gone live. MTN NG is going 4G Live soon. They must have also 'deployed' infrastructure. Don't mean it's working yet tho. Smile is working, Swift is working, Spectranet is working, Ntel is working and readily available for a specific region now. U dig? |
OlujobaSamuel:Lol. Cntrl+ P. It's the same thing we have been saying since, if it's not suitable for you. Leave it and use a better option. Personally, i do Airtel 9GB for 3K5 like 2 and half times a month. Dats 7K+1,750 and it's not enough because i have high data demands. I use alot of traffic so i need unlimited. You do not need unlimited so wats the point of saying u think Ntel needs to reduce price etc. When u can pay only 2K on MTN and get 3.5GB that u won't even be able to finish. Ntel is targeted at specific users. High data usage users. Low data usage users should not bother about how much Ntel data costs. A student should use Etisalat 1K for 1.5GB and not complain that Ntel it's expensive. "Nothing concern pomo with person wey no get teeth". In a nutshell, use the plan that suits you, leave the rest alone. Simple. |
Baddestguyp: Dymaco:Firstly, i said twice. The screenshot ain't mine but @honsule 's And knowing the type of person he is, i don't think he has the time to post fake screens. If you use IDM, then u know that the timer is not exactly accurate. It's not real time. It has a few milliseconds delay. Finally, i know someone else that told me he gets 10MB/s. So yh nworanco:True tho, standard of living is different. And other factors. But saying 10 to 20 pounds didn't exactly make the point because by direct calculation it still shows that it's about the same. |
charloski:Lol. Spectranet was good before. The price was doubled and the speed was halved. At least here in Lagos, i heard it's faster in Abuja. I dumped their router, until when they are ready to at give me better speed. Also have a smile MiFi. Their plans are ridiculous, even their 19,800 (corpers allowy lol) unlimited plan is only 60GB. After 60GB it starts crawling like snail. I will lean towards anyone dat is offering the best at the time, for now i feel it's Ntel. I just hope their network withstands the test of time. One thing is for sure, Lagos will be more demanding than Abuja. |
donhils:I don't really understand what you mean mate. However, from the picture u posted... I can see Theoretical speeds for 3G+ (HSPA) and 4G+ (LTE-A). Tho theoretical upload speed for LTE-A is 150 and LTE is 50 |
I am not an Ntel marketer. I'm a 'concerned citizen', I'm an I.T guy who says what he thinks. Who wants to get the best bang for buck. If MTN offers better speeds and prices tomorrow, I'll say MTN is the best. This thing is pretty straightforward. |
OlujobaSamuel:"Never expect a narrow mind to grasp a broad concept" |
Jerryolumide:Him no epp anybody oh! But OP, the thunder that will fire u ehn... Chai! |
Icecomrade:Mate, Drama queen is not an insult. You are CLEARLY being a drama queen. So i stated it. For example: Writing all in bold to get attention, DRAMA! Same as writing all in caps. Those are Drama queen moves. By the way, if Ntel don't suit you... Just leave it you hear? Just leave it ![]() Jennifer89:Exactly oh! Just stay where suits u, simple. |
