U were paying for an item to a seller yes? Because i think it's only when u are sending money funded by a card (Not paypal balance) they charge. I'm tired of trying to figure out paypal. Ur bank rates should just sha be low. Afterall if dollar was 100 naira suddenly, who will worry about Bank rates?

Honestly, i don't think it's the banks staff. I think this ur action of letting ur email address out could have started it. But maybe the hacker has access to the list of emails associated with the bank, not the members of staff working with the hackers, I'll like to think that they are better than that. More like scammers than hackers tho. Because most of these are just 'tricks' really, no real hacking going on.

Yet to receive my account number though.

Will update on first post, I got my account number after about 30 - 36 hrs. Tweeting at them on twitter is a quick way to get a response. works very well. Dats where they replied that their rate was 199.5 two days ago.

Can Zenith Debit card works in any site? I want to apply for one but I don't know which one to go for. Please I need your advice.

I believe @sinebaba would be able to help you with this. He is our Zenith Bank expert/ Consultant. Lol. But from his info on page 3, he uses Zenith Bank mastercard. And I'm guessing he would advice the same.

I always check the actual email address that sends it, not just the sender label or name per say. Sometimes i even track the ip address where the email originated from using the email header. Dats how i received an email from GTBANK a few days ago telling me to confirm my login or something like that.
This is called Phishing. The hacker will design a webpage that looks EXACTLY like the GT Bank own and send it to ur email address, once u click it and put ur login details there, ur login details is saved to a notepad in his database, all he just has to do is take those details and login to the real GTB Internet banking platform and use ur money to play nairabet
I'm not a hacker, i have a degree in Information Technology

UBA are bloody criminals!

Ordered from amazon about 3 weeks back. Amazon automatically detects the currency your card is in and instead of charging in dollars, they offer the option of billing you in naira to cut out exchange rate fluctuations.

Amazon gave me a rate of 209 but since i have had better rates from UBA in the past, I chose dollars and UBA charged me about 230. About 4 items had shipped before i realized this, so I quickly cancelled the remaining items (amazon only charge your account when the items ship but they place a hold on your account for the required amount immediately you place the order), waited for about 2 days for the hold to clear and then ordered again using amazon's currency converter in naira. Result: UBA still charged 230+.

For a total order of about $1000, i paid about 20k extra for no reason.

Really pissed off, but I just don't have time for them right now. When i'm a lil' bit more settled, I'll face them

Would have switched back to GTB but i have 2 issues with them:

1. It's a current account, COT ruins it .

2. They are fond of double charging or whatever and then returning it after a while (usually at the end of the month). EFF that!

Access bank is looking sexy though.

Access bank are messing refunds up, and rates are bleeped up! You better Stanbic up! Lol.

Yes, exact same thing they requested from me. Didn't even need utility bill. Anyways, it's always better to go prepared. it's only 1 piece of paper, it's not dat heavy. Anyone dat wants to open should just go with it, just incase.

By the way, i just left Stanbic and i created a new account. Mhen, the form filling process is a long one oh! Like 4 pages.

Anyways, i can't get my own card till next week Tuesday or Even Wednesday as Friday and Monday are public holidays, i think. Good Friday, Easter Monday. They give only MasterCard. No Verve, and no VISA. Their VISA is Credit card and of course current account only.

Btw, are u sure it's a Master or VISA Card?

Their requirements on their website are:

Filled in account opening form.
Two reference forms.
Two sample signature cards properly signed by each signatory to the account.
Two recent clear passport photographs of each signatory to the account with their names written on the back.
Each signatory's current international passport or driver's license.
Proof of residential address such as electricity, water or waste bills (original must be shown to your account manager) or we will send someone to visit to your address

Did they ask for all these? Two Reference forms?

Who has used UBA Africard to purchase recently? How much did they charge you. Which bank has the lowest exchange rate? I want to swap from UBA to the cheapest one.

Latest UBA rate we have is 224. And i think dats from the 18th of March. And regarding lowest, many of us are going Stanbic. Lol.

Pls does anyone know how long it take do refund back money to diamond bank with paypal.. Cos i paid for something online yesterday with PayPal.. Only for the seller to contact me telling me.. My order was cancelled and a refund issued cos my billing address shows nigeria buh then it show that i placed d order from USA on their system.. Which made me confused bout how thats possible .. Buh am yet to get an allert in my bank account.. N thou on paypal is says refund complete...

PayPal into my Diamond Bank account took 3 business days. Refund done on Saturday, got it on Wednesday. So expect it anytime from Wednesday.
So I'll say 3 to 5 business days. But don't be surprised if it takes up to 10 business days (2 weeks). Maximum I've waited is 17 actual days lol. Not paypal tho.
Anyways, if you don't get it by Friday morning contact Diamond Care.

PS: Brace yourself to lose money, Diamond Bank charged me 204.08 on Paypal and refunded me at the rate of 194.02. Sad really.
