martineverest: Nigerian mentality.. especially those with low self esteem.
Chinese,Indians, most Europeans don't speak English and they are highly intelligent you should say they are high achiever as intelligence is found everywhere in the world. infact an uneducated man can be more intelligent than a professor because intelligence means a test of in-born brain-power. Educationist knows this. |

intelligence is not as a result of education it is in-born. I feel this OP is talking about mental achievement. |

1StopRudeness: What are u saying exactly?? What is ur definition or standard of gratitude?? Must it be quantified in percentage of the good deed... Like if I rescue ur daughter, I mean a whole human beign from kidnappers imagine who could put value on a human life..., how should u show gratitude to me that u won't look like ungrateful according to ur own words.. Or Let's say in terms of money like 20million or certificate was returned.... I just really want to grasp how u were able to deduce and conclude from miles away the dude was ungrateful Thanks bro. I like your thinking. |

OhiOfIhima: At the bold, that is always my thought whenever I have the opportunity to render a little help... Reward don't need to be tangible but good-deed deserves appreciation. appreciation means you care. ok to see my point let us just think of a case-study the owner of 1.1million just collected the money and didn't say any thank you and just walk away from the okada with ungrateful attitude, so u want to tell me you won't react. so appreciation means you care about the good deed the rule is that you should appreciate with what you are capable of. it doesn't mean you are paying-off a good deed which is priceless in many cases. Hope it helps |

gbagyiza: I use to tell people that no matter what happen lets us do the right thing to free our conscience. He did the right thing n it is not a most that the owner should reward him, he just did the right thing n my believe is that God will bless him in a special way. reward means appreciation it doesn't mean you are rewarding his good deed because some good deeds can never be rewarded. for example if a man saves a person from a death situation, such person cannot pay off the act because life is priceless. The only thing you can do is what you are capable of (tangible and intangible). It is left for the person to say don't worry. The rule is to appreciate base on what you are capable of. |

aonag: you see the reason the minds of nigerians have been skewed beyond redemption? where did it state that you must be rewarded for doing good? i thought doing good is supposed to be the right thing to do regardless of what comes out from it? do you know if the 1.1m is the owners own? what if he was sent on errand to deposit it somewhere or pay for something so he should take a huge chunk of that money or tak something reasonable out of it just to reward the person who helped him find it? some useless folks would still come here and say "oh what if he took it and did not return it then?" well, fine if he did that then he did not do good. what he did was commit a crime and we wont hear how he did the bad and out to be badly rewarded for it anyhow.. lets change our mindset. a comon thank you should suffice rather than expecting the world just because you did good. do good because its right not because you stand to gain something from it Oga stop this ur yeye preaching. #200 for burning his fuel on two miles. Yes there is no law that states that good-deed must be rewarded but it is a bad etiquette not to do also ask yourself why do police reward people who help them with criminals informations. The owner might not be the real owner of the 1.1 million naira but he should reward the keke man from his own pocket as much as he can afford. Reward shouldn't be money, it can be Job, accommodation, connection, support and recognition etc. Had it been this man has been allowed to suffer and pass through traumatic conditions before he see the N1.1m he would become more grateful. The reward means you appreciate the effort and courage to overcome all odds and do the right thing, it doesn't mean you are rewarding his good deed. It is left for him to reject the reward meaning he doesn't need the encouragement. |

TEYA: Oga, universities run consultancy programmes, do post ume exams collecting monies for such. Are you seriously telling me the monies thus generated cannot buy microphones for lecture halls? Are TETFUND funds not mismanaged by universities? Those funds are peanut to fund school problems. I know there are fund mismanagement in school but bros university in Nigeria are seriously lacking. I say so because I am a certified Educationist and have worked side by side with lecturers. |
Education › Re: Strike: Universities' Workers Are Unfair To Nigerian Students- Hardeysolution by stanliwise(m): 5:08pm On Dec 17, 2018 |
Hardeysolution: isn't that a lie? Government pays these Universities money per year. Now I'm talking about federal Universities. I know the state Universities, many of them aren't good so to say but how about federal Universities That is a lie from the pit of hell. Do you know that laboratory equipment are to be overhaul after 5 years but some universities has not change their equipment over 10 years. laboratory are too few, classroom is too tight, lecturers are underpay, curriculum are outdated and the list goes on. In private school e. g convenant that has all this fixed their student pay minimum of #700k per year.. which the common man in federal universities would clearly not afford. |
Education › Re: Strike: Universities' Workers Are Unfair To Nigerian Students- Hardeysolution by stanliwise(m): 5:05pm On Dec 17, 2018 |
lilbest4: students pay school fees of over 100k then they are forced to sit at home and pray that what they paid for is given to them. I don't understand what you are saying honestly. If you pay for a phone on jumia and you are not giving the phone or assured when you will get it would say it's not easy to travel by land in Nigeria so I can't blame them? If they can't manage the education sector let them close the whole thing down and stop scamming people I laugh when I hear 100k school fee. My HOD carried out a research last year and he concluded that if student are to fund university each student should pay a minimum of #600k per year funny isn't it. |
