CultureRe: Help With Edo Language by StarFlux: 1:26am On Feb 25, 2012
Could anyone help me clarify something. I see there's a wide range of Edoid languages, are some of these similar to Edo (bini), would a person speaking bini (I know the language is called Edo, but so it appears in a clearer context) be able to understand some of them? And are there dialects within bini?

I have also seen eh/éh for he/she instead of o. Are these simply co-existing words or used in a different context? Understand my confusion, I have not come very far in learning the language. I am currently working on getting books.

PoliticsRe: Why Do I Hate Nigeria So Much? by StarFlux: 1:28am On Feb 16, 2012
you should be ashamed. i love Nigeria and would not trade it for anything. yes, situation is bad, but there are many good things as well.

sloppy attitudes changes nothing. when people wan change, they will.
FashionRe: Nigerian Girls And Cycling Shorts. by StarFlux: 1:21am On Feb 16, 2012
You would rather they wore nothing so your eyes can feast when they are on those okada right?   I reckon you would argue about how hygienic it is for them to wear nothing so it can air out right?     It's a free world, abeg, my sisters what you want.  If you want to wear cycling shorts under your wrap na your own prerogative be that!
i dey laugh for dis matter oo.

i guess the hate towards cycling shorts is a direct result of not enough "eye feast" available today.

@StarFlux,

We may never know. Let's hope it is a wake up call to the Police force to have an inward assessment of how they have conducted their affairs in Nigeria. If this brings about a change in the way the NPF is run, then he would not have died in vain.
Would be nice for a change. however, it would not surprise me to hear "chey, he dey die 4 good cause. life no be small thin oo"

next thing you know it happens again. i will keep my hopes up though.

CultureRe: Igbos, Will You Marry An Osu? by StarFlux: 12:28am On Feb 16, 2012
people no get brain these days. problem occurs when people dey think packs.

while most people personally may not have anything against Osu, they will practice am because the unwritten rule no be gone from the past. it is also the case of parents/elders hammer their kids with propaganda against Osu people.

all in all, as people start marry Osu, people will start to accept, but it takes a strong individual to go against society. i feel sad oo, for people who still practice this. i hope someday stupid thinking like this will go away. and yes, if the opportunity was there, i would not hesitate to marry an Osu or any other person for dat matter.

PoliticsRe: Igboman, Did You Come To Bauchi With Any Land? by StarFlux: 10:58am On Jan 31, 2012
I think  you don't live in Nigeria, so, you won't understand the way things are done in Nigeria.
ok, this be your last resort insult? HOW THINGS ARE DONE IN NIGERIA. if he wan go build house in Bauchi, it is his problem, and if no1 come run for buy house, it is also his problem, no be so?

SOO, if i no choose buy am, it means this is how things are done? he has every right to build a house wherever he wants. wheta some1 go buy or not, is a different matter. it is attitudes like yours that created teh problem in the first place.
PoliticsRe: Fulani Nomads, Soldiers Kill Four In N’delta by StarFlux: 10:25am On Jan 31, 2012
If hausa/fulani can't live peacefully with other Nigerians, they should leave Nigeria b4 someone go massacre them. It is limits as to how much beating people will take before they react. I do not hold hatred towars them, but obviously they have issues adjusting themselves to society. They can go back to Somalia anytime they want, no one will bother them there.

So this is the best solution, abi? they wan come make wahala, go back to your fellow muslims. these people sef.
