Victoryokondu: Hi all,
Please what documents do i need to travel? I saw something like electronic travel authorization; what does that mean please? Do I need it and if yes how do I get it?
Can someone who has travelled be kind enough to tell me all the documents I need. Thank you in anticipation! If I get you right, Am guessing you on a study permit - then go with your passport your visitor visa is already appended on it - you don't need an electronic travel authorization that's for visa exempt foreign nationals travelling to Canada by air , you get your study permit at the point of entry..some forms would be given to you to fill on the airline do those also - point of entry letter -letter of enrollment from the school . - pof - remember to fill in all the info on arrivecan also - letter of acceptance from school Idk about the vaccines and covid test ish - read up on ircc website about those |

Claire18: You can use your Naija bank card if it has mastercard. Or get a domiciliary usd acc opened and use either cards during your quarantine. Or if you have a support, you can get a prepaid credit card and buy dollars with your Naija card. Many options. Avoid going out as best as possible. You can be fined for breaking health order Just an addition to this - there's a limit on how much you can use with your MasterCard out here - last I contacted my bank they told me it was reduced again' hey I don't mean you're not correct about the details you gave out - but just be careful while trying to get something with your Nigerian card. Cheers |

Lovethchisom: Hello Happy new year all.
I have been trying to submit my application but i cant make payments with my card. i have used First bank (master card), GT Bank (master card) and UBA (Visa card). i still get same response from these cards. Not approved, Transaction declined. Please what other step do i take. have been trying for the past two week one. Please help a sister. This has been answered a few times though - you can keep trying different cards ( try cards connected with dom accounts and all) or have someone a relative or anyone you know outside the country send them the equivalent and let them do it for you. Cheers. |

hope4brym: Hint: you don't need to take up bag space with things like indomie or milo, you can easily get those at your local grocery store. Nigerian food stuffs are more expensive here so pack more of that. Well yeah, but 14days quarantine wasn't able to come out then, I needed something fast to prepare ... And tbh just packed 14days worth and it's finished already so yeah it served it's purpose. Cheers |

Ayobami2001: Hello house
Please did anyone who already travelled or planing to travel open a Canadian account from here in Nigeria. From the rules of quarantine, I can see one is supposed to remain indoors for the entire 14 days, unless there is a medical emergency. So how does someone get food and groceries for the duration of quarantine? Apparently, it is advised one make orders with online transfers or make payments with cards instead of leaving your accommodation to a store to spend cash. That can attract a fine. I got cash with me but I just wanna have options.
Will appreciate it especially if folks under quarantine tell of their experience What I did was carry my most essential stuffs from Nigeria so I didn't need to come out at all, firstly I did try to open an account at the airport but couldn't spot one on time and if you have a connecting flight, you might not have the time to get your SIN and open an account, I was told Nigerian cards work but didn't get to use it either.. if you can come with essential foodstuffs that can last you 14days or if you have any dependable family/friend around here - they can help you do grocery shopping and drop them off for you. L Cheers |

Dameelee: Please what did you use to show evidence of POF? I really wasn't asked anything much related to POF I was just that lucky I guess, POE was Toronto, after a long flight we were asked to wait a bit before we started seeing customs bits by bits ... When it was my turn I typically just gave the man attending to me all my documents which includes enrollment letter, admission letter, my passport, letter of introduction, covid test report ( I did covid test not because it was compulsory but I didn't want to have any issues at all) think that was about all then my arrivecan receipt .. he asked me my start date, name and how long was my course' that was all (very short) and I was given my study permit.. then I waited for my connecting flight. |

Japh11: Information!!! Those that are coming to Canada. Endeavour to come with your school enrollment verification and school fee payment print out/receipt. This is very very much important. Without the enrollment verification from your school to show you enrolled for the program, they might refuse your travel. And they also ask for the school fee receipt when before issuing you your study permit. Quite true , I wasn't allow to board until I got my enrollment letter , about the receipt I didn't need to show that! |

jpepper: Hello people,
@justmellow @frankbonn @lekkiboboe For those that have made travel plans, Is it true that IRCC now requires that we show proof of funds at the point of entry? Please see the information in the screenshot below from UBC, looks like we have to provide the banks statement that we used to apply and a new one, how true is this? I also saw similar information on IRCC(second snapshot) but IRCC just says “you must show proof of funds” they did not request for 30days statement or any specifics. My question is : will it be sufficient to show them the same bank stmt that i submitted when i applied? Indeed, I wasn't asked for proof of funds but I was asked if I have already paid my tuition at Toronto Poe, that's was typically the only question asked that tilted towards financial capability, the rest was just general questions but still I really don't know if others would be asked for pof. |

It will end in praise. Well , already got my visa before the pandemic .. I was only answering to queries of the other guy who asked ! Thanks for the tip anyway |
