PoliticsRe: Major Causes And Proffered Solutions To The Skyrocketing Inflation by starstaz(m): 4:03pm On Aug 12, 2023
Moneyfem:
MAJOR CAUSES AND PROFFERED SOLUTIONS TO THE SKYROCKETING INFLATION.

6. Not refining our God-given crude oil. Our budget is benchmarked on the price of crude oil that is taken out just to return it at very high prices in final petroleum products. Coupled with this are the swap system and subsidy regime that didn't speak well for the economy for years.

d. Privatization of the moribund petroleum refineries to engender efficient local production of petroleum products such PMS, diesel, kerosene, gas, etc. If this can be achieved, then outflow of dollars from the country will reduce significantly while inflow will increase and this will improve our exchange rate and external reserves.

e. We should be patriotic to encourage our local industries by patronizing them till they become good as we did for China in the days of "Chinco gadgets."

All hands must be on deck to tackle this menace.
Local refinery will remain the only key to extricate our economy from the hell-hole trap we found ourselves in. And the quickest way out is Legalization of illegal refinery. No two ways about it

PoliticsRe: IPMAN Confirms Another Fuel Pump Price Hike by starstaz(m): 3:36pm On Aug 10, 2023
Look at the excuses:::

• fuel would continue to increase as long as the US Dollar rose in the foreign exchange market.

• Market forces as the primary determinant of prices

There are problems with the middle classes of this country for the following reasons

>> The numerous expert on petroleum economics and engineers are not with their thinking cap for various obvious reasons and suffice to says what is the value of our higher education if we can't solve common life problem issues threatening our existence

>> The few specialize university based petroleum too have not covered themselves in glory rather advocacy should go into de-funding them if they cannot be scrapped for peculiar reasons

>> The crude is here in abundance, so also the vast gas resources yet laziness as allowed us to sleep it off and consign it to Dollar forces and international forces. No local value thinking process again. Suffering and smiling in the midst of plenty. Selling ram to the world and eating bone at home

>> This brings the thought process that goes into destruction of local refinery to question ( are we daft). Nobody is thinking of value addition. Nobody is thinking of capacity building for local refinery or Legalization of illegal refinery.

>> The middle class will have to decide whether to live an honorable Life or die a miserable death in the hands of the Holocaust leadership that is headed by Tinubu, NNPC and the National assembly. Giving another 100yrs, this set of political leadership will not resuscitate our moribund refinery and evidence are abounds to this claim and neither should we be surprised if dollar exchange to naira by 2000 or 10000 anymore with consequential adjustment in the price of petrol.

The biggest solution now is to organize ourselves as expert and technicians and demands for ownership of these illegal refineries and upscaling it to it's full Legalization that can receive crude from NNPC and process it for local consumption without interference from Dollars scrimmages. Make we just avoid Dangote, Tinubu or NNPC and carry our future on our heads. Not doing this now as an urgent intervention, this house we neglected may crash unabashedly on our heads .

Mr. President, raising tax is a little part of the problem. The major problem is lack of profitable, taxable industries.

Why is the Nigerian government destroying refineries in the swamps of the Nigeria Delta? Why not mandate the so called illegal refineries to buy crude legitimately and refine? Then tax them!!

Was there any problem with crypto currency? No. But the Nigerian government instead of keying into crypto like the US, Canada, Japan, Germany and other enlightened nations but the government banned it instead.

Why is the Nigerian government bent on destroying businesses that could generate tax money, then you turn around and cry low tax? Where do you want to get the tax from??
U see am too.

Always destroying and turn around like TAM to cry about low tax, low revenue conundrum.

I have seriously advocated for Legalization of illegal refinery but nobody is seeing wealth in this transformational idea.

As a general always remember your reputation is on the line, even if the political class are playing a chess game to undermine the polity for pecuniary gains-the general should stay above board and do the right thing by flushing out the terrorist in our midst and at the end of the day they will earn our respect.

Senegal ( 11 )

Nigeria ( 6 )

We need to close the gap by winning 5 different editions in this decade. It's a task we must set as a priority moving forward and eschew the spirit of unnecessary rancour among the NBBF officials in order to get it right. This is the new targets.

Giving the facts that this Nation of ours, Nigeria, is heavily blessed with talents left , right and center is a mystery in itself.

Another lesson learnt in life, never over-exagerate your emotions.

Apologies to my egbon who have suffered from vitriolic vituperation on account of errors : Misjudgment, Misinterpretation of processes, Miscalculation of the larger picture and above all commission of hasty generalization fallacy by myself. Apologies. It's a reflection of investing too much expectations in the success of our national teams.

Finally Kudos to the wonderful coach , the MVP of the tournament and the entire team for locking down a 4th consecutive wins in a row and believing they can earn more accolades for the fatherland by winning the next two edition for a bragging right.

Promise is the one I most look forward too. She handles the ball really well

Macaulay is also preparing for her last stint with the team. She's 32/33yrs already.

Potentially, we have Michaela Onyewere and maybe Queen Egbo in the WNBA.

Nneka Ogwumike may also join the team, as the 3 year hiatus that FIBA have has since elapsed.

Arike Ogunbowale is still hoping to join team USA and has since attended 2 camps in the last 1 year. Fingers crossed on her.

Too many talents that will potentially make this team 100 times better. It's left to coach Wakama to determine how that will work, but this team definitely can't compete at the world stage or get am Olympic ticket.
correct submission. experimenting with this group on the world stage will be callousness and committing apoptosis on the world stage and it will eventually killed their self esteem for life.

I agree with you. I can support your post with evidence and one of such is the progressive development exhibited by both Okonkwo and Musa , who are hitherto role players in the last edition. Am surprised how much Musa has learnt and imbibed and as for Okonkwo a mercurial rise and dramatic transformation and excellent development.

All being said, we erred by commiting the greatest error of dislocating the fulcrum and framework of our team ,leaving them out, that could have impacted basketball wisdom into one or two rookies in this team .

Nevertheless win or lose will not afford us an insight into the strength of this woman Coach in charge of the Tigress.

only a black man in a black world will copy or buy a western technology and degrade it to an eyesore level. he cannot think and developed his own but his biggest strength lies in devaluation of the said technology that he acquires or possesses. he doesn't sees danger in using water as a fuel to fly an aircraft so also he ignore dangers that is associated with a faulty lift or elevator. just yesterday a copter crashed down in Lagos, who knows if the aviation fuel used has been mixed with water.

now, we have snuffed out life from this young doctor and extinguish her future from black man usual dereliction of duty and lack of high pristine value system.

BREAKING AND URGENT ::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::

the president of the republic of nigeria has announced to engaged the state in a national broadcast at 7PM today. this is a welcome development by the way.

And we do hope mr president will deliver far reaching reforms to the excruciating pains we are all currently observing now like hunger, pains, economic and financial dislocation and not limited to impending strike anticipated by the leadership of the NLC.

Things I personally want Mr president to touch are listed below:

>> CNG activation across the country within two weeks

>> provision of food stamps across major cities and allowing philanthropic organization to participate

>> immediate policy guidelines to encourage local refinery such as LEGALIZATION of illegal refineries

>> suspension of all major anti people policies for now

God bless a listening president and the FRN.
PoliticsThe Energy Misunderstood: Tinubu, Dangote Refinery 2025, Legalization Of Illegal by starstaz(op): 8:51pm On Jul 30, 2023
THE ENERGY MISUNDERSTOOD: TINUBU, DANGOTE REFINERY 2025, LEGALIZATION OF ILLEGAL REFINERY, HUNGER AND IMMINENT CIVIL REVOLUTION CUM INDUSTRIAL STRIKE. PLUS CNG.

PART 1

[s]The energy misunderstood: tinubu, dangote refinery 2025, legalization of illegal refinery[/s]

The honey moon is over for the commander in chief , President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and his policy master strokes has plunged the entire country into desolation and moribund crises of massive proportion. As a stakeholder of this country, silence has unfolded to become a crime and never golden again.
This is why I took my pen to assist the government of the day to have arrays of ideas to work with, if there indigenous work plan is failing and adding to our woes collectively. Its designed to be a ten in a series papers to poker the nose of the technocrats in government that whenever there is crises of ideas or ideas blockage , sources like this can fill the lacuna by providing them with raw alternatives. Consultancy fees not attached. One wonders surfeit of ideas that were sold to the FG in the past with extortionate burdens what is the outcome ( kini abo-jade)

This part I will focus on the legalization of illegal refineries strewn across the country specifically the Niger Delta region. Wisdom and argument have been postulated on demerit of illegal refinery and one consensus opinion hinges on attendant pollution that arises from such ventures and the strength of this paper is to handle and proffer answer to it. Ideologues across the economic circle believes one way of reducing poverty is creating …..

The solution to our problems over many decades that has eluded us is however in the crevices of our palms and pocket trouser and one sane thinker wonder how and where we missed it all this while. Modern enterprise, today, enriched themselves on the plethora of ideas and technology that they created and they protect it as a brand and financial securities for sole purpose of monetization, income generation , wealth addition and job creation for the benefit of their people. It should be abundantly clear to us that no Nations of the world is going to assist us in restoration of our refineries. It is to their eternal achievements that we remained backward (our loss is their gain, as simple as ABC) in our energy sufficiency particularly in PMS and its derivatives production and depend solely on them, meanwhile ours economy is solely driven by two hydra devils namely PMS and dollar. This two are capable to either send the people to guillotine if not properly managed or create abundance and prosperity for all if the reverse approach is taken. It’s a carbuncle that this basics is not well understood by the people and above all the economic adviser to the Govt of the day at any particular point in our history. The elites , who are suppose to be the drivers , torchlight and catalyst, have commited a massive economic crime against the people in the context of the Nigerian state. Why did we drop the ball. Its preposterous that the state funded refinery is moribund and distasteful to the reasonable minds that the engineers and other ancillary workers working there are still collecting bogus salary. What a gross inefficiency! Whereas, rag tag army of unemployed youth can be so organized under the banner of status called "illegallity" to refine petrol for people consumption. Wise people will have embrace this technology and create a massive industry around these little piece by providing platforms, operational frame work and set up indigenous seed of industrialization from here.

Timeline:
= 1965, Nigeria developed and launched her first refinery in port harcourt with a capacity to refine 60,000 barrels per day, in same port harcourt anothrt one was built to refine 150,000 barrel in 1989. Alltogeter portharcourt refineries have the capacities of combined 200,000 barrels per day.
= the other two refineries are located in warri and kaduna respectively

Summary:

>> The leader of this country should do quick to avert civil revolution reason being that their are huge hunger in the land and business are dieing

>> now that subsidy is gone, why is Govt is very slow in providing sustainable alternative

>> CNG is the way to go. Govt should embark on this now to provide succour to the populace

>> while waiting for the rapid deployment of CNG , the Govt should convert illegal refinery to legal one
