Its unfortunate my influence haven't reached the level of getting national attention, I would have published an article to guide Tinubu and his economic team on some of these policies and how to ensure they don't fail at the end

A good start for now.

But guess where the problem is?

CBN doesn't have enough dollar to meet Nigerians' usd demand, remember we are an import dependent country.

What it means is that Nigeria doesn't earn enough FX through export to meet up with the dollar demand of Nigerians, which means many Nigerians will be going to Aboki for dollar and Aboki will be determining the rate based on demand of dollar for the day, and this will definitely lead to uncontrolled crash of Naira value against USD.

I commend Tinubu for this good dollar floating policy, but it would have been better done after putting certain things in place to ensure CBN earns or have enough dollar to supply to all banks to sell to Nigerians.

One of those things that would earn us more FX and also reduce our FX outflow is putting our local refineries in working condition and leasing them out to private entities to run for Nigeria to reduce importation of petrol which gulps most of our FX. While fixing the national refineries, Dangote's refinery will also be ready and both combined would solve our importation of petrol which consumes majority of Nigeria's FX.
Counter argument to ' cbn do not have enough dollar's statement: I learnt we have roving btw 32Bn to 34 Bn usdin our reserved. Deduct 2Bn USD into the market to play kalo-kalo market forces and surprisingly seen how dollars and naira will find there level to the favour of Naira in 14days, with healthy outlook in all indices more FPF, FDI will flow in to the country and we experience wonder boom once again just like when obj recorded 15% GDP growth in 2002. This i can see the long term impact of Jagaban matrix in economy of prosperity galore.

PoliticsThe Human Face That Encapsulate Student Loan by starstaz(op): 1:38pm On Jun 13, 2023
Life they say is always unfair, if I lied ask the outdated whip of the NA who despite his money and fame could not enrich himself with the coveted seat in the Senate, the SP. Nevermind in using HE Mr Kalu to project my assertion that will be introduced below. Same goes for many of us, life event might be unfair in one way or the other.
Enough of digression- with few different human stories that I have personally encountered in life, not too few but stories aplenty, am particularly touched with the humaneness that comes with the student loans in our country. Nobody should expect it to take off smoothly at the first instance but with periodical modification and application of lessons learnt here and there will make it have impact down the ladder.

My personal reflection way back can remind me and plenty of our readers uncountable numbers of brilliant student that faltered along the way and become school dropout due to loss of their sponsors ( parents, breadwinner, uncle, father and sister etc etc) despite many of them have the potentials to make it through if a financial help can come through. Helplessness and hopelessness becomes their reward in our society that doesn't routinely embrace philanthropy as a society value. Some of this unfortunate friends become ready made tools for prostitution and criminal world and when you ask them the readily available excuse they give are: nobody is there to fill in the gap. Many of us can remember, plenty of our colleagues nature did not smile to during their university education ( 0.05%) who lost their sponsors to death or loss of job despite their brilliance.

Now, a ray of hope is at sight and a tablet that can cure our society malady of loss of sponsor is awoken in the student loan and my hope is that generations that will come after us will heap praises on us and at the same time eliminate the tags of wasted generation that Prof Soyinka ascribed to his peers that could not transfer a prosperous society to their immediate generations. End.

PoliticsRe: Details Of The Student Loan Bill Signed By President Tinubu by starstaz(m): 10:24pm On Jun 12, 2023
Hamachi:
Student loans are a financial burden which does not quite make sense on a pure accounting basis. So, you have signed up for a loan (a liability, surrender of your future earnings) and you have nothing to show for it. On the other hand, when you take a loan on a house (a mortgage), you have a liability (a mortgage) and an asset (a house), so when things get tough, you can sell the asset to cover that liability. And in a worst case scenario, you simply file for bankruptcy and walk away from it - with a beaten up credit score, but you recover fully in about 7 years (in US, bankruptcy is removed within 7 years from the person's credit profile). Easy. Simple. Elegant.

Now, we have a student loan. You take a loan and you spend money. You gain nothing tangible - no assets. You have an expectation of future earnings, but it's not a guarantee. However, once you are out of school, loan is due - regardless of whether or not you have means to pay for it, such as a job. Now, when things get very tough - let's say you need to pay rent and you need to eat and you would like to get a family - but the student loan is still there, and it's not going away. You can't discharge it in a simple bankruptcy. You can't make it go away in an easy way - it's a forever burden.

Summary

When we reach the point where politicians are running for office on a platform of, “free college for everyone,” you know that we have gone past the tipping point. “Free” college is just going to throw kerosene on this fire.

We are seeing some cracks around the edges, e.g. coding bootcamps and startup apprenticeships like Praxis, but what is needed is a better educated consumer.

PS

I saw a question on career section this afternoon. “Should I go to school X or school Y? (Money is an object, but I might get some financial aid at school Y.)”

School Y’s cost of attendance is more than twice that of school X. No thought of can I afford either one of these schools? No thought of preparing a financial analysis. We have a generation of irresponsible morons whose parents are mentally absent. That’s why we have a financial aid crisis.

💭Leadership is not about seeking personal glory, instead its about taking responsibility for the people you are in charge of.

🎯Some key takeaways:

✔️Responsible leaders take accountability for their actions. Instead of blaming others, they identify the problem and try to fix it.

✔️Therefore, to become responsible leaders professionals must remember to take accountability for actions and stop blaming others for their mistakes.

✔️One of the foremost qualities in a successful employee or leader is a willingness to accept Responsibility for one's actions and behavior, good or bad.

✔️Taking Responsibility means making decisions, taking action, setting high standards, learning from our mistakes and always doing what we say.

✔️Lastly, leadership is about setting an example. Let see his grandchildren, relatives & family members participate in these students loan

This is the power of ideas.

Ideas and ideology rooted in critical and meticulous planning is what usually catapult a nation from zero to hero among it's peers. With next generation looking and observing carefully with rapt attention from the footnotes of Jagaban, our future leaders that will emerge are without doubt primed to escalate our level of development with visions and better ideas that can bridge the gap between the west and Nigeria .

Our sleeping greatness is about to be unleashed, vertically and horizontally, in a geometric proportion.

Ofemmanu1:
IGBO in their confusion, infusion and frustration arising from pride and over estimation of themselves leading them to a series of saboteur maniac syndromes.
Igbos broadly divided other Nigerians into three broad categories- Those they hate, those they deride and those they fear.
Those they hate are the yorubas whom they call traitors, tribalists and cowards. Yet no race in Nigeria have been more tribal than the IGBOS.
There are historical facts to prove this. If something is ten and igbos are not allowed to take 15, so that the rest of us can share minus 5, lgbos will cry marginalisation and label the rest us tribalists.
However there is no race in this country that have been more accommodating of the lgbos than the Yorubas, there is no single igbo leader that did not grow up in the South West or is a beneficiary of Yoruba largesse.
Zik went to CMS GRAMMAR SCHOOL, Adolphus wabara went to AHMADIYA COLLEGE AGEGE, Ken Nnamani went to LOYOLA COLLEGE IBADAN, Ojukwu and Ekwueme went to KINGS COLLEGE, Okpara went to YABA TECH while Phillip Emegwali went to AQUINAS COLLEGE, AKURE. Even my brother Anadu went to IMADE COLLEGE OWO, Peter OBI made Lagos Home after 8years of Ruling Anambra etc.
All major Igbo politicians cut their political teeth in the West. Their major religious leaders cannot thrive outside the West.
Pastor Muoka, Pastor Ezekiel of Four Square and Okonkwo of TREM are examples.
I remember that after the civil WAR, Igbos who came back to ILE IFE were allowed TUITION FREE while the YORUBAS in NSUKKA were rusticated. Example is Pastor Adeboye.
Yet lgbos reserve their greatest hatred for the Yorubas for reasons being that the yorubas refused to be dominated by the yebbos to confront the North.
As to the label of cowardice, had there been any war between the yorubas and the lbos in which the lbos defeated the Yorubas? In the whole ancestral history of Ndigbo, which war has the forefathers or great forefathers fought? Any empire in their history? Yet the yorubas have worsted the lgbos FIVE times in the political history of Nigeria.

As to the label of treachery, had there been any agreement the yorubas signed with the yebbos and they reneged? The answer is no. Yet the yorubas have records of Igbo treachery on the two occasions they formed alliance with them. In 1964 to fight the federal election, the yorubas formed an Alliance called UPGA with the Ibos to be led by Okpara because major Yoruba leaders were in jail.
There was an agreement that the election must be boycotted. The Igbos sabotaged it, went and contested election while the West kept to the agreement.
In 1979 the West went into alliance with the lbos and formed PPA - PROGRESSIVE PEOPLE ALLIANCE.
Again Igbo sabotaged it so that they can produce Speaker house of Representatives. Who then is traitor?

The second category are the Eastern minorities made up of present Rivers, Akwa lbom, Cross Rivers and Bayelsa. The igbos see them as subhuman with tidal brain. Until the creation of Rivers State by Gowon, no OGONI man can sleep on the hospital bed in Bori GENERAL HOSPITAL . As at 1977 only UYO ,PHC and CALABAR had electricity light. They were so underdeveloped by their Igbo overseers that you will think that you were in the Congo jungle.
Until Diette Spiff, there was no Ikwere named Street in Port Harcourt. To show how deep the derision is, the present Biafran agitatators changed the name of RIBISI (Phc) to IGWOCHA as if the IKWERES do not exist.

The third category are the Hausa Fulani.
The igbos pretend to hate the Fulanis but the truth is that the Igbo man is subservient to them. Ignore the noise. There are historical facts to justify this. Zik served under BALEWA, EKWUEME served under SHAGARI and EKEREMANDU zoned the PDP presidency to the North because he wants to be the VICE PRESIDENT to a Northerner.
After the civil war and OJUKWU was granted amnesty for his rebellion against constituted authority, he returned to Nigeria and he joined the Hausa fulani party (NPN) of those he accused of genocide against his Igbo people. It is Igbo tragedy that they hate and deride those who grow and sustain them while they cringe to those(the hausas) who kick them like balls.

Igbos are the only race in nigeria that celebrate failure. In 1982, the igbos celebrated the defeat of biafra by welcoming ojukwu with fanfare on his return from asylum haven been granted amnesty by the igbo overlords- the hausa fulani. He revelled in the fanfare and promptly married FFK left over- forgotten the over 3million lgbos that died in the war and with many of them languishing at OJI RIVER CAMP.
The second celebration is the release of kanu with the most humiliating bail conditions ever granted an accused in the annals of Nigerian justice system. A bail conditions targeted at the entire Igbo race and granted by an Hausa Fulani judge. I could not believe that with all the noise, such bail conditions will be signed. But he signed and in his eagerness to leave kuje he abandoned his two conspirators in kuje. The bail conditions wiped out the Identity of the ibos and EKEREMANDU was made the enforcer of the conditions.
Now Kanu is back at kuje prisons eating watery beans and Ekweremadu is languishing away in UK detention
This is Compendium at a glance. Good job.

Many things we don't know can be seen and connected in this your summarization of our tribal relationship. Nice job
PoliticsRe: Before It Is Too Late, A Message For My South South Brothers. by starstaz(m): 12:06pm On Jun 11, 2023
LOVEALAIGBO:
You’re being selective in your assertion!

The Igbo have supported the so called south-south more than the reverse is the case….even to their own political loss! Of the three major ethnicities (i’m told there are three, even though we all know this is a lie two of those three like regurgitating), Ndigbo/south-east has supported the south-south politically the most, while the other two have connived and schemed against the south-south politically and economically!

The Igbo/south-east last had one of their own hold executive power in 1966! Since then it’s been largely passed between the other two, and as i implied earlier, even the little chance the south-south had to hold executive power and serve two terms was frustrated and sabotaged by the other two who, after wickedly and greedily conniving yet again to ‘grab’ power, now want everyone to believe they, more than the Igbo, have the best interests of the south-south at heart!

Given the aforementioned, why should the Igbo/south-east support Akpabio for senate president when they have two of their own in contention! Your wicked stand on the issue shows disdain and contempt for the Igbo, and it proves sceptics right that the aim of some of you from the core north and south-west is to see the total subjugation of the Igbo and reduce them to political and economic irrelevance in your Nigeria! You want to finish that thing you started in 1966 and didn’t quite finish in 1970!
Nice job sir. From your name, your Love for the interest of Igbo will not die in your Life Time, and I say amen to that . Your assertion is absolutely right about the other two Hawks in Nigeria politics, even though your "own" too is the third hawk that completed the formative years of Nigeria independence. I try to avoid naming tribe, advisory .

Back to the matter, my response is to the op who advocated for unity between the people of the East and the south south , so as to efficiently control the source of their wealth and their political directions within the ambit of law under the space of project Nigeria and in the events that such is not readily guaranteed they can harmoniously worked for a separate state under the banner of Old Eastern Nigeria. He demonstrated carefully and graphically the bond that existed between the people of south south and the core East in culture, language, folklore and ancestral lineages. If the above aforementioned points are logically true, so while should Mr Orji K, a respected stateman, will cry blue murder and exhibit intolerance to the emergence of Mr Akpabio as the 10th SP of NNAssembly . As long as the interest of the old east will be guaranteed and covered, a political leadership from south south should be supported by their so called first neighbor or first cousin, south East .

That being said, All the occupiers of the first, second and likely third position of the land are going to carry a tag of criminality or thievery as their badge. They are all bigger thieves and there is no Saint among them . So you cannot tell me Kalu is more cleaner than Akpabio or that Akpabio is more cleaner than Kalu. The bigger picture is that, undeniable, the East can sow a seed now for South south Akpabio and expect the gains in the future .

I will end it with this story, a man MKO Abiola of 1993 who won the presidential election in that same year was denied the benefit of assuming the leadership of the country due to man complex circumstances but he did not worked or campaigned for the dissolution of the country, he pursued his legitimate right through persuasive modalities and still ended up in jail and eventually paid a supreme sacrifice - died in prison .

30 years later, his spirit, and ideology still echoed through Tinubu as a renewed hope for a better Nigeria. The lesson here is sometimes you might fight for something good and you may not be the direct beneficiary of it but the good seed you sowed today will rub off good on your generation and unknown generations to come. So there should be no hard feelings if south south are shining today, after all south east have shown like a sunshine as SP under Obasanjo presidency in the past . Moreso that the east are taking the position of a presiding officer in the House of Rep . It's not so gloomy like you painted it to be now . With patience and sacrifice,16 years from now ( to some of you might see it as too far) the Next President of Nigeria is coming from the East . No two ways about that .

U guys from the Core east can start the healing process from Monday and Tuesday this week by showing love to your junior brother and partner in south south. Ordinary SP in the N.Assembly drafted by the Apc to go to south South has made ur political class to throw caution in the wind, make unnecessary tantrums and display bellicose bile,as if south south people are nonetity in the project Nigeria and Lower Niger interest. If truly, the east consider South South has their maternal blood , they should accord Mr Akpabio the respect to emerge as the SP of the 10th Assembly and in the future Assembly 11,12,13,14th, the law of reciprocity will definitely come in handy when the core East need such support .
