RuuDie: Damn!

Really had mad, deep feelings for a certain dame and she knew it. . . . .I am fairly certain she is attracted me too but for some reason, she just never seemed to be revealing much of herself to me as I was to her. I thought maybe it was a thing time and a bit of patience would overcome but I guess I was reading it all wrong.
Folks who knew her a great deal better than I cautioned that she was (as with most women of a certain age) on the look-out for settling into marriage and I probably didn't fit the bill. I didn't see it that way or she didn't give any such impressions - I guess I was giving her a great deal more regard than she deserved because a couple weeks back, I got word she'd be tying the knot. knocked the wind right out of my sail.
Its just crazy 'cuz I am in a position where I can do or say little - afterall, she never made any concrete promises. . . . .but damn it hurts!

I don't want to believe that in the bid to acquire that status of being a 'married woman', she's shunned true love and settled for the 'next best thing'. On the surface, thats what it appears. . .but I will never know for sure. I can only pray it isn't so, not because it hurts to be rejected this way but because that's how much I truly love her - I always wish and want the best for her; anywhere, anytime!

I could have sworn we had something good going and with a bit more time and room to grow, she would be my wife - maybe she didn't have that luxury! After the previous paragraph, I shed a few tears for the love I never had but that is always in my heart!
Awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww

*offers hug*

maclatunji: LOL, I am sure deep down within your being you actually think you are making sense there. I am laughing my freaking self out. LMFSO(It is a new one I created) grin.

What is next? Somebody has already wished we Muslims death so there is hardly anything any other person can say that will be worse.

You see this is the basic mentality of most Nigerian Christians, so afraid of death. Even in churches, all pastors preach is prosperity. Someone even went into the studio to record a gospel song titled: "I shall not die" shocked. No problem, you can remain 'Forever Young,' so that you can 'Live Forever'.

Guys don't you want to go to heaven? Most Christians say they want to go to heaven but they don't want to die- how ironic?

Duh! You have to die to get to heaven even if it is the 'Christian One'. tongue

Cowards! Death is coming for all of us, so your fear of it is futile. Even Death will Die tongue
Laughing my brains out, I dint see this comment initially.

CGKing: My ignorance? Any way that's what your prophets always say ...right before they tell their disciples to go and commit suicide missions. So what is wrong if one likes prosperity? Is prosperity not good? I would rather listen to a pastor who preaches prosperity that to an alufa who preaches death.

Now it is clear you are confused. You really dont know what you want. The guy who died on the mat, who inspired you all didnt die old, he died now and am sure you know that was not his plan. But he died now. Now some here are praying they want to die like him and u speaking for them? Y dont u speak for ur self? THEY WANT TO DIE NOW. AND I THINK THEIR WISHES SHOULD BE GRANTED!!! They want to die like the guy and he died now so... guy pls let them die. I know u want to die but not right now.. right? So no quams. you may die later but pls those who want to die like the guy, DIEEEEE like the guy.

Besides, whats honourable about his death? Any way i know its their wish and i dont question them. Am glad they see things my way. What concerns me is their annoying ideology and the innocent people living around them.
Whoever said prosperity is badhuh My point is living in this world is just a means to an end (I'd be surprised if you understand this sha, lol).

Just one question Mr, what do you think is your purpose of being in this world?

Abeg no stories o cheesy

CGKing: Now i understand the physique of the muslim. and i thank the Lord i wasn't born into that confusion.

They think the ultimate goal in life is to die. They think God;s purpose for man is to come into being only to die. That is y
they love to die. They can die for anything and produce reasons to die. What hurts most is that they love to take others with
them. Am sure if that guy knew he was going to die while on the mat he probly would have gone to weaponize himself and kill others...to the glory of Allah.

But there is a funny twist to this. THEY ARE NOT SURE THEY REALLY WANT TO DIE. Earlier in the thread someone said he wanted them to just die, just die and they all pounced on him with fiery responses. U say you want to die, someone else says he also wants you to die and be get offended. Please you all that live and love to live can you see whats going on here?
I am not surprised at your ignorance at all because all your religion preaches is prosperity and all sorts of wordly things. It seems lot of people actually don't know their purpose in life. Smh

And also, the fact that people have said they want to die like him doesn't mean they want to die now. Is that to hard to comprehend? At least they wish to want to die a peaceful and honourable death(even though no one has control over that), its their wish, why question them. It all boils down to hatred for islam.

oradee: ...and whats wrong with a dwarf?
If women go a long way in maintaining a physic that makes them both proud, why do men now allow their ego come in the way of maintaining their weight.
(then they wld start quoting,'love me,love my dog')...
Thank you o bro saga! What is love without physical attraction? I agree it may not be the primary reason for being in a relationship, but then, it cannot be overlooked abeg.

Personally, I don't see myself being in a relationship with someone I'm not attrcted to. If I try to keep myself fit, why shouldn't my partner endeavour to do so?? I dint bargain for an obese man, so why should I put up with one? Apparently, his weight gain is due to excessive consumption of food and alcohol, not due to illness, nor child birth, so I understand why the Op wouldn't want to put up with such.

Having said that, it is NOT enough to call the engagement off, except he's not willing to improve. Tell him how you feel about it( remember its not just about how he appeals to you, his health matters too), if he's willing to burn dose excess calories, help him through it by exercising with him, monitoring his diet, and so on.

If he feels its a sign of good living, or his ego won't allow him to heed, then I think you need to retrace your steps, it shows he's lazy, not so concerned about his looks, his health and YOU! I don't think you would want to put up with a man with these attitude,.

Btw,I'm not sure an average naija man who has always wanted a lepa wife will go ahead to marry his once size 8,now size 16 chic.

Exactly the same problem I have. I downloaded operamini to get access to the full version because I never liked the former mobile version, but right now, both the mobile version n the opera mini version can't give me my smileys.

Btw, oga seun, I use glasses and I'm on medication (eye drop). Don't make my sight worse; do something about the colours n the brightness.

What exactly is this poster going on about?

No be you wan 'punish' your wife sometime ago.

@Op, Right now, you are the one playing the victim and you sound soo much like a woman (a petty one).

Now to the title of the post, when you become irresponsible, who's loss? your wife? Your kid? Your family? Your life?

Notice they all have the word 'your'- meaning your irresponsiblity is your loss.

You don't sound like a patient man. Learn to take things easy abeg. So many decisions still have to be taken for this small noy, you don't want to keep on arguing and fighting over his discipline. She's your wife, he's your (both of u) son, you don't stay with them. why don't you trust and appreciate your wife's efforts in keepin the home instead og nagging the hell outta the woman. Urrrggggh!
Romance › Re: What Does She Mean? by StateOfMind: 10:46pm On Mar 02, 2012
@pendo, I'm so impressed with ALL your replies to this guy--so on point.

@Op, I honestly don't understand the purpose of this thread. Almost everyone on this thread has cautioned you about your attitude, but you just don't seem to be bothered, Re-read pendo's 1st post, I am 98%sure that is the story and then, the fate of your relationship.

If one could easily figure how egoistic you are with these few posts, then I honestly wonder what that chic is doing with you. You think you're the best thing to ever happen to this girl, but you are not! You think for her, you're interested in what you want for her and not what she wants?? What kinda man are you?

IMO, your girl will be better off without you. And I guess she's gradually realising that too. Being her first doesn't automatically make you her her best; you're probably an eye-opener to help her discover herself.

Also, you seem so confident that there is no other man catching her fancy( even though many posters have warned you about his too) and that you wouldn't be bothered if she decides to leave u. I ask again, why are you here?

Tbh, I feel so cold reading your posts. No breathing space for posters at all - huge turn-off!

N.B- I noticed this attitude of yours on a thread in d family section too 'how do career mums cope with marriage' or sth by hbabe.

I hate it soo much that it's offensive odour make me vomit. I dont eat okra soup too. On the other hand my wife relish the locust bean. Infact when we were abt to marry I told her point-blank that I dont want it in my house. It resembles goat excreta (no offence o!! wink wink)
Lmao @ goat excreta, this same reason was my my siblings and I disliked it wen we were young.we used to tell our mum dat it was well-washed goat excreta. I can't say I really dig iru now oo, but at least, I can eat any stew made with iru.

Some actually eat it raw , urrrggghhh, lol
