elklehamite: FANI-KAYODE SHOULD THEN BE READY TO BECOME THE FIRST PRESIDENT OF ODUA REPUBLIC SINCE HE IS SO SURE THAT MR PRESIDENT IS GOING TO LOSE ELECTION TO HIS ALL POVERTY CONGRESS PARTY.

Yorubas prefer Nigeria over Odudua. They are confused people. Before Yorubas will talk about their own independence...they will prefer to worry about the future of the SS and SE.

ijaw citizen: When I read posts like this, I see a desperate people who are about to allow fantasies overtake their ability to stick to reality-in fact, I see a people drowning in their obsession.

I urge the poster Stay real deluded to proove that he is not daydreaming like most of his people by enumerating the "heavy cultural ties" with "all Niger Deltans".

The Igbos I know marry to/marry from all tribes in Nigeria including the Hausa/ Fulanis. So because of some marriage, are you all going to drag them by deluded imagination into your Igbo country just like you're retro-fantasizing with Niger Delta?

We all know why Igbos are breathing on our necks- ACCESS TO THE SEA. But the earlier they realize that it would be easier for them to get access to the sea thru' North Africa rather than thru' Ijawland, the better for them.

There you people go again taken words out of context. I am talking about the SE. I have relatives that are married to peoople from cross rivers, efik, annang, ibibio, etc. I have cousins from those areas. All prefer Biafra over the hell hole called Nigeria. We are not concerned about what the Ijaw want in their future. It is up to them. Whatever they decide...you are in full support of their decision. We know that they do not want yorubas AT ALL. Your division tactics will not work. Not by force will you continue have people stay in a delusional One Nigeria. You should go and worry about whether the Aworis will allow the loud yorubas to remain in Lagos when the split comes...I am sure they want their land back. smiley

Ola Johnson: The confidence of the Igbo will be deflated when they realize that the South South won't be carved together with them should Nigeria break. Even if this happens, only parts of Cross River and Akwa Ibom states that will be part of them.

Spoken like a a true yoruba. Always worried about other people's business rather than their own. SS can go their own way if they choose. The SE has heavy ties culturally and through marriage even til today within all of their tribes. You want to create division because you people are scared of the future without the SS and SE. The Southwest and North can remain as Nigeria after the SS and SE leave this nightmare of a country. We will let you keep the flag, country name and national anthem. grin When Nigeria splits we see if the SW will rather remain with their northern masters.

Politics / Re: The Crime Wave Impacting British Of Nigerian Descent by stayreal: 6:00pm On Apr 22, 2012
The United States is different because many Nigerians are only able to go there through student visas. This creates a culture of responsibility and an education centered culture. Although most Nigerians in the states are igbo and most in the uk are yoruba, I don't think it has anything to do with the topic. I think that the US is very selective, especially when it comes to Africans and immigration.

@ OP

Having an Igbo president is not needed. Haven't you seen the state of this hell hole of a Country? Obama could not turn this country around. If Nigeria stays together, Ndibgo has much to gain, if we split even more to gain. You see in America, the Jew does not care about running for president. He cares about taking care of business, helping his people and being an advocate for his homeland, Israel.

Since Obama has been elected. The rise of hate against black people has risen in America. Many companies let go of black people at a high rate after he won the election. This was what I expected and predicted would happen and people did not believe me. It allowed people that harbored hate against the black man in America to be more vocal and to act out even more against him. They now had a black man in power that they can blame for America's problems, even though George W. Bush caused it. If GEJ was Igbo the rhetoric would be even worse and would allow the common Igbo haters in Nigeria to band together against Ndigbo because they have a figure head to blame. As of now, the SS and SE have been closer then ever. The MB is beginning to see what the SE knew all along about the North. This is a relationship that I prefer to keep intact and build upon as we move towards disintegration of this cesspool called Nigeria.

olayinka1987: An Igbo president is out of the question. These idiots have threatened violence if 2015 doesn't go their way. They must've forgotten what happened the last time they started a war. They wil get the same treatment if they start nonsense again.

Do you think the British and Russia will help you next time? Don't come to the boxing ring with your friends next time and see what happens? Only cowards need help in one on one fight. Everybody knows you people are cowards, which is why the Fulani are taking over your land as we speak. They will turn the rest of your people into Muslim slaves before this century is over. You should be worried about them before you worry about Ndigbo.

. . . hey guy, Hausa/Fulani and Yoruba history go far back even before Dan Fodio was born.  That's centuries of collaboration and cohabitation and inter-marriage,  . .  .never once has Hausa/Fulani waged a military war against Yoruba and never has Yoruba waged a military war against Hausa/Fulani.  It is not going to start now or in future because Ibo need a war of retribution against Yoruba.  If you want Yoruba bloodshed I suggest Ibos start it themselves and see between us and you who truly is the coward.   I promise you we will install a new landowner in Alaigbo.

. . . . . despised bastards!  angry

What are you saying, fool? Fulani enslaved you people and gave you islam. They  waged war on hausa and not yoruba? So your people submitted to islam without force? They warred against you people and they have taken over kwara state. You people are not fooling anybody. Yorubas have no allies, they are the despised people, they are considered treacherous and untrustworthy. Ijaw and igbo have formed an alliance. The past 50 years has revealed the truth about the yoruba. You have said that you are allies with the backwards hausa-fulani. There is a saying that you will know a man by the friends he keeps. How can you brag of such an alliance, you people have no shame.
Politics / Re: Asaba Massacre 1967 -- Newest Article by stayreal: 4:21pm On Feb 29, 2012
Ndigbo, you see here that non-igbo delta people do not justify the asaba massacre. The yoruba are the only people that are happy about it. These people are heartless. Only a guy like wole soyinka among their people will condemn it. The day is coming when fulani will massacre hundreds of yoruba, we will up this thread and highlight their words. That day they will cry and we won't hear them.
Politics / Re: Proactive Measure To Fulani Menace In Yorubaland by stayreal: 3:08am On Feb 29, 2012
The fulani have restarted their jihad on yorubaland. This must be stopped. They have been doing this in the middle belt and have brought violence to berom and tivi. If yorubas attack fulani herders, there will be serious retaliation and yorubaland will turn into Jos with constant clashes with fulani. Which one of the yoruba leaders will speak out against this madness?
Politics / Re: Ojukwu Was Forced To Defend His People, Says Tinubu by stayreal: 4:58pm On Feb 24, 2012
In kindness, I asked yoruba brethren. Which one of your people was killed by biafran troops led by banjo towards lagos that stopped at ore? My uncle was still in lagos at that time working for the newspaper and knows many events that occurred at that time. I know some elder igbo men that were part of that invasion. Their purpose was to catch the nigerian military off guard by seizing the capital and military munitions that were held in lagos. Most of the nigerian military was mobilized in the north. Ask delta people if  their people were killed in the midwest when the biafra army went through their land. Remember that biafra declared independence and nigeria declared  war before these events occurred.

Onlytruth:

Frankly the bolded is why I stopped believing in the idea of a common nation between Igbo and Yoruba. I know for sure (at least judging by opinions here) that they would NEVER condemn the killing of 30,000 innocent Igbo and Eastern Nigerians in 1966. I have seen here on this site that even some Northern minorities have condemned that action; but not Yoruba. Now, I also know that they would not wish same on themselves for any reason, so I've concluded that only the purest form of wickedness and hate can produce such convictions. BTW Hausa did not program them to hate us like this. lol This is ingrained and even inbred.
That is why I laugh at those thinking that Nigeria will survive. Like I keep saying, Nigeria cannot survive and we Ndigbo don't have to push it over the edge. It was programmed to fail. cool

That is the level of hatred they have for us. They justify the pogroms against innocent men, women, and children. They justify abandoned property and Awo's 20 pounds. Where are those among their people that condemn this?

poster

since you're igbo and biafran, i think you should just ask questions which are relevant to you personally.

eg what makes you igbo, and what makes you a biafran.

leave nigeria matter since you say you dont identify with it.

just my opinion.

That is a good question. I am sure he can answer it.

An American knows why he sees himself as an American. He believes in American ideals based on the Consititution. He believes in Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness.

So what makes you a Nigerian?
Politics / Re: Ojukwu To Get Full Nigerian Military Burial, Oya Massob Give Way! by stayreal: 10:40am On Feb 20, 2012
This man's burial does not need the Nigerian gov't involvement. Let Gowon and co first apologize for what they did to Biafrans before they come with this crap. I do not want to hear of no Nigeria's useless national anthem being played and no Nigerian flag made by the white man. These people come with their boko haram military to kill MASSOB members, innocent people and destroy property. A military burial is slap in the face for all the atrocities that they have committed against our people. MASSOB should rush and bury the man before these people come and do this evil deed.

BTW, Olajuwon is not one of the top 10 best players of all time. Top 100? Maybe! But top 10/50? Hellz no.

Lin would most likely make NBA history in ways Olajuwon could never have dreamt of.

Most basketball experts put Hakeem in the top 10. In fact, last week some experts on ESPN put together their top 10 players all time list and most had Hakeem on their list. I think only one did not have him in the top 10.

Another thing is Jeremy Lin has not even played enough games, so slow down with comparing to a legend like Hakeem. That is insulting.

@Afam4eva, so after listening to the balderdash spewing out of Femi-Fani Kayode's mouth on Channels TV you suddenly realized that the name Nigeria means Darkness. Black and Darkness are not the same nor synonyms. Tell your mentor to get back to class and relearn his "history". Our name relates to the beautiful river Niger that flows through our nation and should NEVER be changed. If he's tired of being a Nigerian, he should dust up his British passport and leave us to be Nigerians

You still do not understand. What does niger mean? That is a latin word that means black. Who named the niger river? what did tribes connected to the river call it? It was not called niger until the white man came. Please do not be ignorant!

I have known this for a very long time. That nigeria means black area. The white man created nigeria, what do you expect? Nigeria is one the biggest shames of the black race. Any person that is well traveled and is honest with what he sees knows this.
Politics / Re: Us Regrets Past Actions Against Biafra, As Boko Haram Threatens To Assasinate: by stayreal: 11:46pm On Feb 12, 2012
During the war, many Americans that were aware of the war were disgusted with the West involvement with the Soviet Union in the war. It is the only conflict during the Cold War era in which the US, UK and Soviet Union were on the same side. The rise of Biafra would have changed Africa for the better in the long run, because many of these colonial nations would have been balkinized, creating better stability and better governance in Africa. Citizens will be able to hold their own people accountable much easier. It would make it harder for outsiders (West, Russia, China) to exploit Africa and use division against us. Look at Europe, every country is divided into its tribe and language unlike Africa. That is how real national building works, but many ignorant Nigerians dont care to see this. Instead they want to keep an artificial British creation together.
