Another perspective is that millionaires take calculated risk.
Millionaires get into the arena early, dominate it and exit when it get crowded and then look for a less competitive but profitable market.

I am pretty sure the man with 'pure water' innovation exited when it got crowded.

My late mother ones thought about the possibility of making beans cake(akara) without the rigorous routine of socking the beans in water but as dry powder.

She experimented it at home, milled the beans into powder, mixed with water and prepared the beans cake, which came out perfectly well.

Though this isn't very much popular at the moment, but she saw someone doing same thing after some months and if someone could perfect it well coupled with good marketing system, I see no reason why it wont sell.

Another example of the early bird strategy is the stock market. I read that Warren Buffet was shinning his shoe and the shoe shinner showed him 'hot' stocks to invest in. After he left, he knew the market was already over saturated(considering the fact that it's a highly speculative venture) which may eventually result in a crash. He sold all his stocks and exited the market and it crashed few weeks later.

This was a couple of decades ago before the last recession.

I smiled when I saw an 'okada' rider wanting to buy stocks through a stock broker. It only reminded me of the Warren's story. As usual, history repeated it self and we experienced another recession.

Tell yourself that it’s okay to enter new territories! Travel. Take chances. Do something that you’re scared of. Set up a job interview with a prestigious company. Put yourself out there without fear.

5. Pick one present you want to reward yourself with when you reach a milestone

The road to your future doesn’t have to be strictly stiff business. Giving yourself leeway for pleasure will help you stay on track. Set smaller goals on the road to your large goal. When you land an internship, treat yourself to a nice pair of shoes. When you get a raise, reward yourself with that watch you’ve always wanted. Praising yourself for your accomplishments will help you stay focused to keep working as hard as you can. Remember that you are a human and humans need self-fulfillment to progress.

4. Support System

If you’re lucky enough to have a single person that believes in all that you are, you’re lucky enough. Not every successful person was fortunate enough to have a handful of people that supported them along every failure and triumph. If you have a close knit group of people you can rely on to boost you up when you’ve reached your lowest, you should thank them often. Gusau  -  Gov. Abdulazez Yari of Zamfara on Monday said gunmen had killed 160 people and abducted 10 married women in different villages of the state in the last three months.

Yari made the disclosure when he addressed members of the House Assembly on security situation in the state in Gusau.

He said the situation had caused disaffection between residents of the affected villages and the state government.

The governor said the hoodlums, who continued to terrorise villages in parts of the state, stole no fewer than 6,000 cows and 4,000 sheep within the period.

Yari said the state government was handicapped, and urged the Federal Government to deploy more security personnel to the state to protect lives and property of the people.

The governor said the state government had committed a lot of its scarce resources on security issues, and called on the Federal Government to stand up to its responsibilities.

The Speaker of the house, Alhaji Sanusi Rikijin, assured the governor of the assembly’s support,

We also need a striker, we are just managing Giroud, his control is poor, passing poor, his speed low, and he is also indecisive at times, although he seems to be winning long balls for us, he has a kindda connection with the keeper and most importantly he needs competition to step up, i expect him to be scoring more goals from open play and a better positioning too.

Good game for gnabry, wilshere taking too much risks, solid performance from flamini, ramsey still surprising me, just hope it is not a fluke, gibbs our best defender for now, not really a top performance from koscielny, but he performed well, metassacer,(not sure i got the spelling), performed well so does sagna with both capping it off wit goals, the g.keeper, had a great game.

President Goodluck Jonathan has terminated the appointment of two of his Special Advisers.

This was disclosed in a statement by the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Reuben Abati.

The statement said the appointment of Joy Emordi, who was Special Adviser to the President on National Assembly Matters, and that of Tunji Olagunju, his Special Adviser on the New Partnership for Africa's Development (NEPAD), had been terminated with immediate effect.

"President Jonathan thanks Mrs. Emordi and Dr. Olagunju for their services and wishes them success in their future endeavours".

Mr. Olagunju had served as Special Adviser to the President on NEPAD since June 2007 while Mrs. Emordi was appointed in 2011.

The President had also last week fired nine of his ministers.

MAIDUGURI (AFP) – Suspected Islamist insurgents dressed in military uniforms set up checkpoints in an attack in Nigeria’s northeast, killing an unclear number of people and burning dozens of buildings, residents and authorities said Wednesday.

The attack on Tuesday evening in the Benishiek community in Borno state saw suspected members of Islamist extremist group Boko Haram invade the area, attacking residents and motorists.

A Borno state government official said at least five local residents were killed in addition to an unclear number of motorists travelling through the area, while about 50 buildings housing shops and homes were burnt.

“Based on the information at hand, only five residents of the area were killed,” said Garba Ngamdu, an adviser to the state governor.

“A large chunk of the victims were motorists travelling on the highway, although we do not have a tentative figure yet.”

An army spokesman confirmed the attack and said a number of residents and tanker drivers had been killed, but declined to provide further details.

Residents recounted seeing bodies along the roadside and said the attackers were singling out those from Borno state.

The reason why was not immediately clear, but Boko Haram members have repeatedly carried out revenge attacks against residents over the emergence of vigilante groups that have formed to assist the military.

“The militants arrived in military vans and uniforms around 6:00 pm (1700 GMT),” Mallam Isa Manu, a motorist who escaped unhurt, told journalists in the Borno state capital Maiduguri.

“They set up checkpoints on the Damaturu-Maiduguri highway and ordered motorists to park and identify themselves.”

Benishiek was also the scene of clashes on September 8 between suspected Boko Haram gunmen and vigilantes.

Five Islamists and 13 vigilantes were reported to have been killed.

A military offensive launched in May aiming to end Boko Haram’s four-year insurgency appears to have pushed the extremists outside of major cities and into more remote areas, where attacks have been occurring.

Separately on Wednesday, the military claimed a strike on a Boko Haram camp in the northeast last week left about 150 Islamists and 16 soldiers dead, amid reports of dozens of troops killed.

It sounds like the stuff of nightmares - but Guy Whittall will certainly be checking for 'monsters' underneath his bed, after waking up to find an eight foot crocodile hiding just inches from where he slept.

The 330lbs giant had sneaked into the Humani lodge, Zimbabwe and spent the entire night lying quietly, just fractions beneath an oblivious Mr Whittall.

The beast - a Nile crocodile - had managed to stay hidden for more than eight hours overnight.

The following morning Mr Whittall - a former Zimbabwean cricketer -  had even perched on the edge of his bed, with his feet dangling over the edge, just inches from the crocodile's face, as he organised his day.

Mr Whittall, who is a director at Humani, ran back to his room and was horrified to discover the enormous crocodile nestled under his bed.

He said: 'The really disconcerting thing about the whole episode is the fact that I was sitting on the edge of the bed that morning, bare foot and just centimetres away from the croc.

'Crocodiles are experts at hiding, that's why they have survived on Earth for so long and why they are the ultimate killers in water.
They know how to keep quiet and go unnoticed, it's in their nature.

'The crocodile came from the Turgwe River which is a couple of kilometres from the house.

'They often wander about the bush especially when it's cold and raining. I think he liked it under the bed because it was warm.'

He was forced to call in some of his co-workers who helped remove the crocodile from its new lair and release him back into Humani's Chigwidi dam.

Mr Whittall said: 'Of course he resisted being roped and hauled out from under the bed, that's only natural.

'Catching and securing a croc of any size on land though is a fairly straight forward affair and we are experienced in that.
