Southern Kaduna indigenes staged a protest against the genocides in Kajuru, Sanga and other areas in the region at Unity Fountain, Abuja.

The protesters demanded for the release of 9 Adara leaders and elders who were arrested and detained in prison by the Elrufai led state government.They are also called for an end to the lingering genocides.

Both foreign and local media were on ground to cover the protest.

KILLING CONTINUES IN KADUNA STATE

Reports reaching us today, 16/3/19 reveals that in the early morning of today,residents of Angbok Nandu, in Sanga Local Government Area of Kaduna State were heavily attacked.

The attack which took place around 2:30am was said to have been carried out by people suspected to be Fulani militia. 8 people were killed including a baby, many wounded,several houses and properties destroyed. This situation has now left the village completely razed.

Heavy gunfire was said to have been heard which threw the whole community into pandemonium.

Southern Kaduna have in the past weeks come under series of attack since the last announcement of Governor El'rufai of Kaduna State on a purported attack on Fulanis in Kajuru.

The face of dedication

The words ‘diligence’ and ‘dedication’ come to life in the personality of an outstanding traffic warden who is the cynosure of all eyes in Lokoja Metropolis - Mrs. Onoja Joy. Her excitement seemed palpable when she explained:

“I started working with the Nigerian police force in April 2003 and in those years I was privileged to serve in the Traffic unit of the Force. I count it a privilege because it has been a lifelong dream of mine to be a traffic warden, as a young lady, I will get really thrilled when I travel across highways and see traffic controllers gyrate in tune with the movement of vehicles. I would say to myself “I must surely become one of them someday”. I have made lots of friends since I started this job and I am loved by old and young, rich and poor. What makes me stand out is the apparent energy and zest with which I discharge my duties. Most people have described me as having no shame and relying on some narcotic drug or the other to be able to do what I do, I simply ignore such comments because I am a proud born-again Christian belonging to the Deeper Life denomination up until I joined my husband’s Mountain of Fire Church. I have been given a couple of awards locally and I get financial gifts from people who appreciate what I do especially when they find out I am not just a wife but a mother of five.”

A keke driver has been arrested by police for impregnating a 14yr old girl in Warri,Delta.According to human rights activist,he received a distress call from a nurse (name withheld) who told him about a 14yr old girl led into a private hospital for abortion.He quickly traveled to Warri, arrived at the hospital and took the girl away and reported to the police.

The girl told hin how Samuel (keke rider) forcefully had intercourse with her.She also showed him the injury she sustained in her right hand when she tried to run away from the room.

Investigations revealed that Samuel's brother also had sexual intercourse with the victim. At about 6:15am,he got Samuel arrested and handed him over to the police for further investigations and prosecution.

Born Oluwaseyi Abiodun Makinde on December 25, 1967 into the family of late Pa.Olatunbosun Makinde(a teacher turned an accountant) and Mrs Abigail Makinde of Aigbofa Compound, Oj'aba, Ibadan.

He had his Primary education at St.Paul Primary School and St.Micheal Primary School both in Yemetu, Ibadan.

His secondary education at Bishop Philips Academy, Monatan, Ibadan.

1985, he gained admission to read Electrical Engineering at University of Lagos.

Had his mandatory National Service(NYSC) at Shell Petroleum Development Company(SPDC). Pupil Engineer from 1990-1992.

1992-1997, he was a Field Engineer(Eket Operation) for Rebold International Limited. He was later appointed a field manager in the company.

After a meritorious work from the cradle to the top in various departments, Engr.Oluwaseyi Makinde established Makon Engineering Limited and Technical Services(METS) in 1997.

He had various training and education within and outside the shore of Nigeria. Among but not limited to; Industrial Control Services in Houston, Texas. University of Kent, Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Lagos Business School.

Politically, as ANPP candidate, he lost 2007 Oyo South Senatorial District seat to Sen.Kamoru Adedibu of PDP. However, he was denied the ticket in 2011 but was given chance to contest again in 2015 OYO Guber race under the SDP which he lost to the incumbent Governor(Sen.Abiola Ajimobi).
Nevertheless, because of his unrelenting efforts and glaring humanitarian gestures, as a PDP candidate, he contested and won the 2019 Oyo Guber race.

He is married(wife - Tamunominini) with three children.

The March 9th governorship and state House of Assembly elections in Ideato South, the local government of the incumbent governor, Rochas Okorocha was marred by irregularities.

According to report,Rochas and his AA candidates imported thugs to impersonate police officers and military personnels.The thugs were fully armed with uniforms of the Nigeria Police Force and army.

The were moving round Ideato South, moving from polling unit to polling unit, harassing and intimidating voters, causing tension, shooting sporadically to disrupt elections in polling units where the PDP candidate, Comrade Dike Stanley, Ikukuoma was allegedly leading with wide margin.Ballot boxes were snatched and thumb printing done in the bush said to be done aiding in a bid to rig the election in favour of Action Alliance AA(Uche Nwosu who's Gov Okorocha's son inlaw).
