ALLEGED INVASION OF THE RESIDENCE OF RIVERS STATE COMMISSIONER OF EDUCATION BY SECURITY AGENTS

The Nigerian Army (NA) has observed some CCTV footages in circulation on social media and other online platforms, allegedly showing soldiers of the NA and other security agents invading the residence of the Rivers State Commissioner of Education, Hon. Dr. Tamunosisi Gogo-Jaja.

The NA has started conducting a comprehensive forensic investigation of the footages to authenticate the validity or otherwise of the claims to guide its further actions.

In the view of these allegations, the NA, for the umpteenth time, categorically reiterate its position in the entire conduct of the 2019 General elections as severally and consistently espoused and
directed by the Chief of Army Staff Lt Gen TY Buratai which is - "NA is apolitical, neutral, impartial and will not compromise its constitutional roles under any guise".

For RE-emphasis, NA's responsibility in the entire electioneering process is only to assist civil authority, Nigeria Police and other relevant security agencies to - “provide a secure, peaceful and enabling environment for the successful and transparent conduct of the election”. Anything beyond this is not authorized and therefore totally unacceptable by the leadership of the NA.

Any military personnel comfirm to be involved in any professional misconduct, such a person/s would be dealt with decisively in accordance with the law.

To this end, the NA wishes to request well-meaning Nigerians to always forward genuine complaints and evidences of professional misconduct against any of its personnel for investigation and necessary action.

Sporadic shooting around Federal Polytechnic Oko Campus led to the death of one and another injured made students run helter skelter for safety as the shooting continued unabated.

The incidence which happened around FCMB Bank, close to the popular Tipper Road, witnessed some gun wielding men, who alighted from a motor  bike shooting all round, sending students crowded along the bank's ATM running for safety, including those walking along the ever busy road which traverses the two major gates of the institution.

A tricycle rider popularly called keke was shot dead at close range as the bullet tore through his forehead while another male was shot in the neck and rushed to an unknown hospital by students.

The real reason behind the shooting was not known but many students attributed it to be cult related while others said it was a robbery attack.

H.E Atiku Abubakar today paid a visit to Kabiru Tanimu Turaki, SAN at his Asokoro residence after he was released by the anti-graft agency.

Atiku described the arrest of his Deputy Director General by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission at this time as a well orchestrated plan to ensure that they scuttle the plan to challenge the alleged rigging that happened on February 23 in court by making sure that the suit is not filed within the timeframe allowed by law.

'God's Miracles never end and they are marvellous in our eyes. God saved me from a dangerous horrible looking cobra yesterday night in my toilet Seat(WC) here in Abraka delta state. It was around 7.34pm when wanted to use the toilet (pee) I decided to use my touch light to view the sink before action,i saw a black stuff below the water in the toilet seat and I was trying to identify what it could be because I used the toilet some hours ago. Lo and behold it was a horrible looking cobra. I called the care taker of the hostel where I live, he came and confirmed it.The snake is so big that we couldn't devised another good means to kill it than the use of Gun .For more than 2hrs the snake was there until we called the attention of the vigilante group and finally it was killed with the aid of a gun. Please always make sure you look very well before using your toilet.
