Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike has revealed that he survived an assassination attempt on his life on Thursday night after soldiers sent by the General Officer Commanding 6 Division of the Nigerian Army, Major General Jamil Sarham confronted his security details.

Governor Wike also alerted Nigerians that the military is supplying fake uniforms to militants hired by the APC for the purpose of disrupting the elections and unleashing mayhem.

Speaking after a meeting with officials of the British High Commission at the Government House, Port Harcourt on Friday , Governor Wike said the General Officer Commanding 6 Division of the Nigerian Army has been taking very unprofessional measures to silence PDP members .

He said that he has informed the British High Commission and other foreign missions of the anti-democratic actions of the security forces, especially the Nigerian Army.

He said: "Last night; the General Officer Commanding 6 Division of the Nigerian Army plotted an assassination on my life. Thank God, that was not successful.

"On Friday, 15th of January, a day to the 16th of February , the first date for the elections before it was rescheduled, the GOC sent soldiers to cordone off my private residence.

"Yesterday, I was shocked that when I left Government House to see some political leaders, soldiers were trailing me. Anyone who knows me, knows that I don't have military security details.

"Along Abacha road where you have Algate Hotel, to my surprise I heard my security men shouting that the soldiers are behind us. I have said this severally about the GOC of the 6 Division that nobody should kill because he was promised the position of Chief of Army Staff ".

The governor said that the General Officer Commanding the Division can be promoted a Chief of Army Staff without killing anyone. He said that there is no need to kill innocent people for a personal ambition.

He said that Rivers State is strategically positioned in Nigeria and should not be destabilised for political goals.

"Rivers State is so important to this country. The economy of Nigeria cannot survive without Rivers State. By what they are doing, they are scaring investors away", Governor Wike said.

He urged the President to talk to the Army to reduce their level of partisanship and illegal activities ahead of the elections.

"The GOC held a meeting with the soldiers yesterday and said they must do everything they can to ensure that the President wins. That is not good. Allow Nigerians to support whoever they want to support", he said.

He said there is no reason for any fight in the state because the APC is not running the Governorship, National Assembly and State Assembly Elections in Rivers State.

He regretted that the Nigeria Army has started arresting PDP in Eleme and other Local Government Areas. He said that 182 persons have been pencilled down for arrest by the Army.

Governor Wike decried the supply of military uniforms to APC militants because it would have post elections negative consequences.

Earlier, the Political Officer of the British High Commission in Nigeria, Louis Edwards said that they were in the state to observe the Elections.

She said that the Resident Electoral Commissioner of Rivers State assured her that things would work well. She said that she is looking forward to a peaceful Elections.

'THE NIGERIAN ARMY ABANDONS ARMY CAPTAIN ATTACKED BY ARMED BANDITS WITH GRENADE IN ZAMFARA. BATTLES FOR LIFE IN PRIVATE HOSPITAL IN ABUJA

A Captain in the Nigerian Army has been abandoned by the Army and left to die after being attacked with a Grenade by Armed Bandits in Zamfara on the 29th December 2018.

The captain who served in various parts of Borno state including Chibok,when Boko Haram was at it's peak,fought many battles some side by side with the Late Col.Abu Ali, engaged Boko Haram terrorists for 6 whole years,after which the Army posted him to Zamfara(giving him no rest whatsoever ever in 7years from the battle field) when the issue of Armed Bandits started getting out of hand.

On the 29th December 2018, while out on a clearance operation in the forests of Zurmi Local Government of Zamfara state, the officers and soldiers were attacked in ambush by Armed Bandits, many soldiers lost their lives..The Grenade that the Armed Bandits threw at the officers shattered the Captains legs,and several particules of the explosive entered and spread into several parts of his body. This on it's own, is also some sort of poisoning to his body.

The soldiers were immediately taken to FMC Gusau,few days after,Governor Yari and the Zamfara state Government officials visited him in FMC Gusau and offered to pay
his medical bills and so he was transferred to a private hospital in Abuja..

We deeply and sincerely want to thank the Zamfara State Governor and the Zamfara State Government for coming in when the Army proved inefficient and neglective.But is it the Zamfara State Government's duty to take care of Military personnel injured in battle?

The Young Captain has undergone over 10 surgeries with very little progress.
The injured officer has asked several times that his legs be amputated because of severe and unbearable pains..

We are left to wonder why the Defence Headquarters hasn't even sent a single representative to check on him,up till the time i write this,neither has any attempt been made to pay his bills or even fly him abroad for proper treatment by the Nigerian Army. We know very well this is something the Army can afford comfortably and effortlessly.

He needs urgent help, We call on the leadership of the Army to intervene at this point. After 2 months in the hospital and having undergone several surgeries,his legs are rottening,his entire body is depreciating, he is dying slowly, why will the Army turns a blind eye?
How can this be done to an officer who left everything he loved,his comfort,his family to serve his country? How does this motivate anyone to join the Nigerian Military?

What is the officer's crime other than he fought terrorists so that we live? He stood in between us and the terrorists, He got this injury trying to protect us all. This is a man who will take a bullet for any of us. Is this how the Government and Army should pay him back? are they not aware,he has parents,siblings,relatives, friends,family and loved ones too? Don't they know,we feel pain too?

If our military officers are treated this way by the Army,upon getting injury from battle,how do we ever win the war against terrorism in this country?

He spent 10years serving in the Army and 7years in operation theatre,he should at least be appreciated by getting the best medical attention the Army can afford.

General Buratai I hope this gets to you and the President. Let Your conscience guide you to do the right thing for this young,brave, gallant officer.

Do not let his sacrifice for this country amount to nothing, he doesn't deserve this cruel treatment from the Army Leadership.

Finally,I make this passionate appeal to everyone who reads this,help us get this to Buratai by sharing and to the Commander in chief,let them intervene please'

Reverend Jonathan Auta, a minister with Anglican Communion, Sokoto Diocese was kidnapped alongside his family by gunmen.

The family, who were on transfer from Sokoto were travelling through Zamfara State to their new station under Katsina Diocese when they met with their kidnappers around Talatan-Faru, in Kauran Namoda.

According to report, the kidnappers who demanded a ransom of 10 million naira, killed the reverend within 24hours of negotiations with his church. Currently, the deceased family is still in captivity.

Rev. Jonathan is an indigene of Adamawa State. He left behind a wife, three children and two dependants.

Political thugs,said to be loyal to PDP senatorial candidate in Kwara South, Sen. Rafiu ibrahim attacked APC senatorial candidate, Lola Ashiru's convoy and shot two persons dead.Many others sustained varying degrees of injures from gunshots while others are still missing.

They attacked his entourage at the entrance of Ojoku town, the hometown of Sen. Rafiu ibrahim in Oyun local government of Kwara state.

Fulani herdsmen in the early hours of today, Wednesday 20th February 2019 killed sixteen persons in Ebete in Usha ward in Agatu Local Government Area of Benue State.According to report,the attack on Agatu people started at exactly 1am when people were deeply asleep.

According to an eyewitness, Daddy Seni whose father was also killed alongside his siblings, he left his father at Ebete while heading to Aloko for fishing when he received a call from his father asking him to turn back that he has been shot by Fulani herdsmen. On reaching where his father was lying down in a pool of blood about giving up, he sighted his father and was going to take him to the hospital when he heard a voice from his father saying, "my son, don't bother about me and your siblings again, ours have finished, we can't survive this gunshots, run for your dear life to tell others about this", then he gave up.

The deceased son who narrated the incidence to Agatu Council Chairman Hon Alhaji Oyigocho who rushed to Ebete with some Council members alongside security men, said he heard the killers speaking Fulani language while trying to run from the scene as he (Seni the deceased son) hid himself in the bush.He said, among the sixteen persons that were murdered by herdsmen, three were Jukum hunters who were hunting animal before they met their untimely death while two of the Jukum hunters who couldn't die immediately but sustained bullet wounds were rushed to nearby hospital.

Hon Alhaji Oyigocho urged Agatu sons and daughters to remain calm to allow the law enforcement agencies to  carry out their duties effectively.
He was accompanied to the scene by the council Secretary Hon Abdul Abdullahi, His Special Adviser on Security and political matters, Hon Edwin Eheda among other Council members alongside the security men in the area.

Unrepentant thief and father of three,Joseph Augustine was caught with locally made gun by members of Agbor Gha Ihun security outfit.He had before now raided the DLA yard in Ime-Obi, Agbor where alongside members of his gang vandalized and carted away spare parts of heavy duty trucks in the yard.He was handed over to the police after the raid but was later released.He continued in the business of stealing until he was smoked out again by Agbor Gha Ihun members.He has been handed over to the police a second time

Contrary to report that no Fulani was killed in Fulani community in parts of Kajuru Local Government Area, Kaduna State,photos have emerged of Fulani men burying their 66 members mostly women and children killed in the attack

According to reports what remained of the Rugar Fulani community were burnt houses, animals, motorcycles, kitchen utensils, as well as bodies of women and children buried in a ditch.

A Nigerian soldier and medical doctor identified as Akewukereke Babatunde has been killed by Boko Haram.According to his friend identified as Davidson who shared the news,the deceased was killed on Feb 16 by the insurgents. Here is what he wrote.....
