And We did not grant to any man before you eternity [on earth]; so if you die - would they be eternal? 21:34 Nethanyahu should not die. When you do die, I wonder what you will tell Jesus Akinsete19: |

Or do you think that you will enter Paradise while such [trial] has not yet come to you as came to those who passed on before you? They were touched by poverty and hardship and were shaken until [even their] messenger and those who believed with him said, "When is the help of Allāh?" Unquestionably, the help of Allāh is near. The disbelievers should not think that it is better for them that We give them more time: when We give them more time they become more sinful - a shameful torment awaits them. Do the people think that they will be left to say, 'We believe,' and they will not be tried? |
They said: "We prefer you not over what have come to us of the clear signs and to Him (Allâh) Who created us. So decree whatever you desire to decree, for you can only decree (regarding) this life of the world.- Surah Taha (Taha) vs 72 "Verily we have believed in our Lord, that He may forgive us our faults, and the magic to which you did compel us. And Allâh is better as regards reward in comparison to your [Fir‘aun’s (Pharaoh)] reward, and more lasting (as regards punishment in comparison to your punishment)."-Surah Taha (Taha) vs 73 When they are told, “Do not spread corruption in the land,” they reply, “We are only peace-makers!”- Surah Baqarah (The cow) vs 11-12 ˹Remember˺ when your Lord said to the angels, “I am going to place a successive ˹human˺ authority on earth.” They asked ˹Allah˺, “Will You place in it someone who will spread corruption there and shed blood while we glorify Your praises and proclaim Your holiness?” Allah responded, “I know what you do not know.”- Surah Baqarah (The cow) vs 30 |
Some people will lose their some family members or their whole families today in Lebanon and the father/brother will stand before their corpses and pray the funeral prayer in tears they will still wake up tomorrow and observe their 5 daily prayers tomorrow while in anguish and they will remind themselves "Indeed, we belong to God, and indeed, to Him we return." Guess how many times this verse or similar appears in the Qur'an. "The life of this world is only amusement and diversion". ![]() Enjoy the amusement. This will end one day. because "We have not granted immortality to any human before you ˹O Prophet˺: so if you die, will they live forever?" Emco1: |
Blind leading the deaf @ ShoeGetSize: Please show us where it was reported the prophet was a rich man. Don't bother replying. Quran has described you perfectly. . We know who you areIndeed, there was a group of My servants who used to pray, ‘Our Lord! We have believed, so forgive us and have mercy on us, for You are the best of those who show mercy,’ Ekrenji: |

You are telling me I shouldn't speak to God directly but to speak through a man God that was afraid of death and prayed to God to contact God. No difference with paganism really. They believe in speaking to lesser gods to reach God. Moses didn't do that, Lot didn't do that, Enoch didn't do that, David didn't do that and I am not about to do that. Thank you. malvisguy212: |
I understand but not many Muslims are familiar with these verses. A lot of Muslims don't understand the Qur'an, they defer to their Alfas and reading the Quran in Arabic without understanding what it means. Almunjid: |
The earth is the word of God. The heaven is the word of God. Everyone and everything exist because of the word of God. Quran didn't say he was the spirit of God. Jesus's birth isn't more miraculous than the creation of Earth and other miracles that other prophets performed. The word of God in the Qur'an is referred to as Kunfayakum meaning Be and it is. Either way, Jesus prayed to God in the Bible and he never unequivocally demanded people to worship him. There was no scene in the bible where people bowed to worship him or he asked them to bow to him. Every time you speak about Jesus as God, it is from inference and for a belief so fundamental to your faith, I don't need to infer about who God is. Quran clearly says nothing comes to earth except as God's servant. Jesus himself spoke as a baby in the Qur'an when he told the rabbis that: Jesus declared, “I am truly a servant of Allah. He has destined me to be given the Scripture and to be a prophet malvisguy212: |
There was no context in your initial quote, you are just providing the context. The verse you quoted earlier on was without context and does not provide enough explanation for non Muslims or other Muslims who are seeking guidance. Almunjid: |
It must have been an incredibly impressive feat. In fact, it's surprising that scholars in Rome, Jerusalem etc didn’t document him as a genius for producing the Qur'an. Just imagine the number of cities and teachers he would have needed to consult to come up with the Qur'an yet none of them recognised or recorded him as a scholar or an exceptional student. I mean his teacher would have clocked that from his writings and imaginations alone. For a man from Mecca, in an era without modern communication like the internet, that is an insane level of work and dedication. It is almost unbelievable. Feldie: |
When he seeks for forgiveness, he talks directly to God. 1. Jesus is a creation. Everything that comes to earth or heaven doesn't come except as a servant of the Almighty . None of the prophets in the bible before Jesus talked about original sin and needing God to come down to save them. They said the same thing prophet Muhammad said, ask God for forgiveness 2. Islam doesn't believe in original sin. Every child is born pure and is starting on a clean slate. I am not going to account for Adam's deeds. No one accounts for the deeds of their fathers or mothers in Islam. God can use us as trials against one another and that is where it ends. Adam's story was a highlight about the nature of men. Immediately he realised his mistake and asked for forgiveness. He was forgiven and God told him that he has created forgiveness and his messengers as mercies to us. And that is salvation according to Islam malvisguy212: |
Yes, if you truly repent and don't go back to disbelief Ekrenji: |
He forgives shirk too. Half of your religion started with pagans converting to Islam for goodness sake. That verse is for those who don't seek repentance. Shirk is a major sin. There are sins that are forgiven without seeking forgiveness because they are expiated by good deeds. For example, each of the 5 daily prayers expatiate minor sins prior to that prayer but not major sins. Shirk or disbelief do not fall under that category unless you ask for forgiveness and you stop straying. Almunjid: |

irumole1975 There several ways to seek Forgiveness 1. Asking forgiveness, there are prayers from the Qur'an you can say for example some of prophets prayers like Adam's, Musa's, Noah's etc 2. Giving charity with sincere hearts - repay your debts first 3. Kindness and patience to others and keeping family ties 4. Praying sunnah prayers 5. Praying voluntary prayers (nafl) 6. Waking up in the last third of the night and asking for forgiveness 7. Speaking good about people and minding your business 8. Patience with your parents especially your mother (doesn't matter if they are not Muslims) |
Why are you to proclaim that someone is bound for hell? This someome that is truly repentant and seeking God's mercy. If he owes millions of naira and he can't pay them back, he should still write it down and make it known to his family even after he dies. If they can pay it for him, Alhamdulilahi. If not, it doesn't mean he is bound for hell. Which is why he needs to work on being a better person to others and a better servant to God. FYI, Allah forgives all sins with true repentance. Where we can make amends, he enjoins that we make those amends. Forgiveness was created as a mercy to people. "Say, ˹O Prophet, that Allah says,˺ “O My servants who have exceeded the limits against their souls! Do not lose hope in Allah’s mercy, for Allah certainly forgives all sins.1 He is indeed the All-Forgiving, Most Merciful." Shueld06: |
Wahshi killed the prophet's favourite uncle, Hamza. Hind chewed a part of Hamza, which was the worst part for the prophet. Both of them became Muslims years later and Wahshi is known to have been one of the companions of the prophet. So yes he can still take shahada even if he killed people. However, it doesn't mean justice should not be served even if it were capital punishment unless the victim's family forgives him. Kamalex2: |
1. Won't you find it surprising to learn that historical figures like Bilal (a slave when he embraced Islam and the first man who came up with the adhan and was also the first man to call the adhan), embraced Islam before encountering the Prophet Muhammad. Common sense suggests that taking the shahada (profession of faith) extended beyond direct interaction with the prophet. Also, there are many instances where the Prophet commanded his companions to free Muslim slaves. Which is what the Hadith is most likely suggesting. Additionally, the conclusion of that hadith isn't that the prophet refused to take slaves' allegiance 2. The practice of taking captives on the battlefield as slaves was common in pre and Islamic Arabia. These practices were rooted in historical and cultural practices. Don't engage again. I won't reply to you. cue001: |
Meeting these people and asking their forgiveness isn't set in stone. Although, it is advisable to ask for their forgiveness as well. Kamalex2: |
Please take your shahada as soon as you can, seek for forgiveness from the people you have offended (where you can) and God himself. As for your debts, please write them down and try to pay them back as much as you can. Let your family know and give instructions for payment after death if you have properties left. It is advisable in Islam to pay back your debts before you are buried. |
