Mostly culture and law enforcement. India appears to be more dangerous sexist beliefs and attitudes than China. pocohantas: Why won't they be? After encouraging gendercide for years because they prefer male kids to females. They now have an unbalanced gender ratio and are taking it out on the few available women. Same gendercide was encouraged in China. I would have to find out why Chinese men are not as illbehaved. Maybe stricter laws. |

Actually, the Muslims that choose to believe that protests are not right aren't new, but this time around Tinubu has conveniently managed to project that belief for the first time in Nigeria mobileboy: All I see is pure hypocrisy During Jonathan era no single prominent islamic voice is against the protest
Up till now so many protests are happening in uk, us and Europe in solidarity with Iran none of you ever called them out that it's not the way to go
Top Muslims like Buhari, Tinubu and Atiku even led protest in 2012 yet they were called sai Baba rather than haram Baba
If what we have as president is a Southern Christian trust the protest to be worse, if it's southern Muslims the protest will be moderate and if its northern Muslims it will be no protest
Is that what your quran thought you

Jews pray with their heads to the floor, three times a day according to the position of the sun. Like Muslims by the way.
An older Christian sect like the orthodox Christians have a ritual prayer where they touch their heads to the floor till date.
Modern Christianity is inconsistent with how God prescribed prayers to the followers of Moses. In fact it is inconsistent with a lot of things God prescribed to Moses. Moses was the first messenger to be given a complete system, a total way of worship of how religion should guide almost all matters of one's life. |

Of course, nothing you quoted say anything about Satan ruling over unrighteousness. shortgun: Just as God is the father to some people, Satan is also father to some people. John 8 v 42 Jesus said to them, “If God were your Father, you would love me, for I have come here from God. I have not come on my own; God sent me. and John 8 v 44
You belong to your father, the devil, and you want to carry out your father’s desires. He was a murderer from the beginning, not holding to the truth, for there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks his native language, for he is a liar and the father of lies. |

Western ideologies come with the pretext that absolute monarchy is bad etc. Governance is perfect if you enshrined their principles. Which is exactly what you are also doing. You want God to be in a certain way and if he isn't, you have problem with it. You are the one guilty of regurgitating same arguments that judge God through human lens. God must adhere to your description of what love is and should not roast people for eternity. johnog4sure: I wish you take your time to research these things yourself, instead of regurgitating religious doctrines, I dont know why u are attributing it to western culture, I dont see any relationship here, to end this argument let me believe we are not referring to the same God(god).
My God will pay everyone according to his actions (Gal 6:7 He has already set the governing laws), the reason I am placed on earth is NOT to follow any man-made religion with their genocidal doctrines (Islam vs christian both calling themselves infidels and wishing eachother to roast in hell for eternity), I know my purpose on earth, Gen 1:28, My God is not tyrannical, he says: let us reason together (Isa 1:18) He loves us (Rom 8:35-39). |

Does Judaism have hellfire? I am curious on the theological context. But you need to be careful about interpretations from other people. The lack of hell makes no sense whatsoever. Pimples: If I were to go theological, do you know that in the original Bible texts the word hell fire does not exist?
You will see 'HELL' or 'FIRE' separately not as one one or phrase.
Hell is actually an ancient word which meant the grave
I'll give you references when I get home.....
The Bibles teaching is clear. Hellfire originated from a mixture of pagan or satanic religion and the fake Christianity being practiced these days.
It was originally formulated as a means to control people and increase the power of the churches.... |
Christianity Etc › Re: Are There Degrees Of Punishment In Hell? by Sterope(f): 11:02am On Apr 07, 2024 |
God isn't a romantic love. God isn't our parents. You can love to not displease him or you can love him because of the day of account. God is absolute and there is hellfire and he wants you to fear the day It comes and you will account for your actions. You won't have hellfire if he doesn't want morbid fear. In the Qur'an there are many warnings. Most times when he mentions a prophet or you hear a prophet's prayer - it is about praying for belief and steadfastness in his absolute, prayers, charity, and righteousness. He tells you not to be arrogant and look into the world and see for yourself what he has created. You need to stop interpreting the essence of God from your human lens. He is not human and he could care less about fitting into our human principles. He wants obedience and that is all. Have they not travelled throughout the land so their hearts may reason, and their ears may listen? Indeed, it is not the eyes that are blind, but it is the hearts in the chests that grow blind. Qur'an 22:46 Pimples: Of course we should fear God. Our fear should be that of displeasing him because we love him so much.
Not because of punishment of being used as human suya.... That's called morbid fear.
If you were a parent, would you like your children to obey you because they respect and appreciate you or because you will leave them with koboko marks all over their body
Always remember that God is love Ask yourself, will a God of love do this? |

They are dead. They are not missing anything. Have you seen anything dead person wishing for food. They are not missing out on anything because they have cease to exist. Your biblical interpretation is faulty. If the Bible says death is the punishment of sins. It could be in literal sense that death gives no room for salvation because it is too late to correct their mistakes. Dead unrighteous people are stuck but for dead righteous people, they don't need to seek salvation. That interpretation seems plausible which is why you have hell in the Bible as well. Pimples: But the Bible teaches that death is the punishment of sin.
When Adam and eve were being warned about disobedience, death was the punishment and not torment.
Genesis 3:3 But God has said about the fruit of the tree that is in the middle of the garden: ‘You must not eat from it, no, you must not touch it; otherwise you will die.’”
All along death has been the punishment and not burning in fire
Futhermore, at death, a person loses all consciousness and can't feel anything including pain.
Ecclesiaties 9:10 Whatever your hand finds to do, do with all your might, for there is no work nor planning nor knowledge nor wisdom in the Grave, where you are going.
Ecclesiates 9:5 For the living know that they will die, but the dead know nothing at all, nor do they have any more reward, because all memory of them is forgotten.
So how can the clear Bible teaching that we can't feel anything at death compare with burning sensation in hell....? It defies logic.
As for death being a simple punishment, when you consider that we were originally designed to live forever and Jesus death gives us the opportunity to live forever, a person who dies without the prospect of living forever has lost everything..... That's the ultimate punishment. |

No one is begging you to stop. It is a warning for what it is to come. It is interesting how you view hell as bad. That sounds like the hypocritical western principles westeners rant about when they chant about democracy and human rights. There is nothing evil about consequences. This is how God sees and how God says it : You were placed on earth for a reason and you chose not to listen. The consequences of that arrogance is on you. It shouldn't matter what punishment it is. You disobeyed and there are promises to be be kept. johnog4sure: You getting me wrong sweetheart, on the contrary I strongly believe on the law of cause and effect(Gal 6:7), telling people they will burn in hell for eternity has not in any way stop anybody from committing hideous crimes. The facts are there for me and you to point to. I believe everybody will get result of their actions, but religious people should stop making it look as if our loving heavenly father enjoys roasting his creature in hell for eternity! |

Quran 39:6 says: He created you from one person, then made from it its mate, and brought down cattle for you. Eight pairs He creates you in the wombs of your mothers, in successive formations, in a triple darkness. Such is Allah, your Lord. His is the kingdom. There is no god but He. So what made you deviate? “And certainly did We create man from an extract of clay. Then We placed him as a drop of sperm, firmly fixed. Then We made the sperm into a clot of congealed blood, and of that clot We made an embryo; then We made out of that lump, bones, and clothed the bones with flesh. Then We developed another creation out of it. So blessed is God, the best of Creators” Qur'an 23: 12-14 I don't know if you remembered cell theory but God clearly says you are a design. Have you actually considered how complicated the world is? Do you take time to understand what the world is truly like, the human body for example? You think it just happened like on its own without a plan just like that?

|

What is Satan's punishment? Your interpretation has made a second god. shortgun: Biblically, anyone not saved by Jesus Christ will not go to paradise with Christ when rapture takes place and the people left behind including the ones who didn't have the opportunity to be saved in their life time will be given a second chance to redeem themselves through unimaginable torture and persecution in a world ruled by Satan. |

You understand absolute power and all that comes with it but it is spirituality and you find it hard to understand that it is a possibility of a being possessing that much absolute power that can create and destroy. You can't understand that how it is impossible for this world to exist without a designer given the extreme complexity of the world. |
Christianity Etc › Re: Are There Degrees Of Punishment In Hell? by Sterope(f): 10:05am On Apr 07, 2024 |
What happens in death? According to this logic, what is the point of being righteous when you can just die as in cease to exit, no consciousness? Nothing is nothing. No consequence. You are not dad, you are just no more. How is that a punishment? Pimples: Jeremiah 7:31 They have built the high places of Toʹpheth, which is in the Valley of the Son of Hinʹnom, in order to burn their sons and their daughters in the fire, something that I had not commanded and that had never even come into my heart.’
God has not changed..... He condemned the burning of people in the past. What makes you think he has changed?
1 John 4:8 Whoever does not love has not come to know God, because God is love.
How can a God of Love burn people in fire? It defies logic. If we cringe as humans when people (criminals) are tortured or burnt in fire, how much more God in whose image we are made.
Romans 6:23 For the wages sin pays is death, but the gift God gives is everlasting life by Christ Jesus our Lord.
As clearly explained above the punishment for sin is death.... Not eternal torment in a fire.
At death we have paid the ultimate prize of our sins. Romans 6:7 For the one who has died has been acquitted from his sin. |
