However, on my i20, it is written "family funds" but the SOA is my Dads business account. My question is: do i get a cover letter from the bank stating that my Dad is the owner and the signatory to the business account? please i need your advice @slimmy05; @darklight; @stewee; @others, una too mursh! cudnt remember names again.... thanks FAM Finally someone's coming to South Florida I'm not sure if that's okay. Can't you have you dad do some transfer to his personal account from now till you're ready to hit the embassy. That's what i'll suggest though... except the company name is 'Your surname' and sons You can also with his company SOA to back it up with copies of his Cert of Incorporation as proof that its his company. Better get that damn visa, you'll Love Fort Laud/Hollywood. Goodluck! |

DARKLIGHT: Ok, boss. But Jakeharris and Stewee, when we were babies didn't our moms take us to the hospitals to those vaccines against MMR and Meningitis? Why I'm asking is because I'm planning on skipping the shots. What do you guys think? Well I can't say what your mom did or didn't do But that's usually the trend... Find out if you know anyone in your school whether they take things like that serios before you decide whether to skip or not. |

I silently prayed that she should be busy till I get interviewed someone ellse. HERE IS MY TRANSCRIPT...(not in perfect order pls, forgive me)

slimmy05: you are likely to tear positive for tuberculosis though if you go through the mouteaus. You've already had the minigities shot as kid. Get a doctor to sign those forms for you. Africans due to our skin usually test positive to tuberculosis except you do the blood test. If you're still bent on taking those shots then go to LUTH. I didn't test positive...My swelling didn't measure enough. The doctor had better stamp it too... Some school will reject it if it's not stamped. |

DARKLIGHT: Thanks, Stewee! To get you right I can do the tuberculosis test in LUTH? I can go to the airport and get the yellow card and it must not necessarily be the day I'm traveling? What about the mmr and meningitis shots, where can I get those? How much do you estimate it might cost me? To do the TB test (Mantoux skin test)in Luth, go to WARD D4(it's the last floor of the children's ward). He ask you to go buy a specific type of syringe (I don't recall the size I Woulda told you). The syringe costs N100 or less and the test costs 1 or 2k(cant remember) You'll have to come back the ffg day for the result. About your yellow card, you can go there prior to your travel date so you don't stress yourself on you departure date. They gave me 2 shots for yellow fever and chicken pox(i think). If you've taken these vaccines within the past 10years then you really don't need to take another shot. I took those vaccines and felt sick almost immediately and it lasted for a few days. That's gonna cost you N1000. (Plz go with your passport cos the clinic is at the arrival lounge and our army would wana be their usual over bearing selves. You can also do it on your travel day and they usually give preference to travellers departing that day. Save yourself the stress though. About your other shots, Go to the accident and emergency building and find the healthcare dept( it's the 2nd or 3rd) floor. The place is very confusing for ppl who ain't used to it so you gotta ask. They'll tell you how much you need to pay to buy the vaccines cos they never have it in stock. I paid over 20k for them. I didn't believe it! |

Sam, can I do everything today and still get the result today? In LUTH, NO! For the TB test you have to come back the ffg day for the result. For the others, if you have the money it can be arranged... There's a magic word ppl use in LUTH, just tell them you're a staff's son. Works like magic. #IknowSendYouThatOne oooo |

Sam, can I do everything today and still get the result today? I did some of my tests in LUTH... I remember doing the TB one there, I was asked to go a specific type of syringe for the test, I came back the ffg day for the result. All the other shots you need to take are quite expensive. Try and take it before you come, it's more expensive here in the US. I took mine at the accident and emergency building (3rd or 2nd floor) not sure. It's the primary healthcare department. Don't forget your yellow card, go to the airport to get that( also go with your passport) so they'll let you in. |

If you have any suggestion pls let me know because you have a lot of experience already as a pharmacist. Starting a business is a great idea, ambitious and often encouraged but the truth is... After grad you'll be too broke and won't have the capital needed to start the 'Chemist'(business) A more realistic approach is to find and hold a job till you save enough to start your own. Even a retarded VO will agree with you and oblige you visa. |

12inches1: Hi stewie.... U need to research schools online. Check this following criteria 1. There GRE requirements and TOEFL. Some have it on their dept website those that don't u will av to purr the internet for it. But trust me u cn get an idea online. Knowing this is so that u cn manage ur expectation and not applying to MIT wen ur scores can only get u into a far lower ranking school. 2. Ensure u meet the deadlines so u cn be considered for assistantships. For must schools it's automatic to be considered once u meet the departmental deadline which is different from the school deadline. 3. Consider costs. State schools and public schools are cheaper. 4.dream high and aim low together. Apply to schools ur scores meet are below and are above. Mostly apply to more schools that ur scores are above their requirements 4a. Research on the graduate faculty to know their research interests and align ur statement of purpose to what research is 'hot' in that school. 5.Ensure ure in close contact with admission office and your intended school dept and ask for advice thru emails anytime you're in doubt. 6. Write a solid statement of purpose. Take your time to do this. Let people proof read it for u. Don't let it be last minute. 7. Ensure you get very good letters of reference from your undergraduate lecturers. Most Nigerian lecturers are lazy. Some may allow you to write it for them. Grab this opportunity. The ones that won't, ensure you see what they are sending and you're fine with it. 8. Get ur admission or admission with grad assistantship. 9. Keep contacting the grad faculty and grad admissions till u get ur visa for other post admission and visa requirements. 10. Will be updated when I get a visa by God's grace. 11. Give all glory to God and upload your visa interview success transcript with the VO. To help other nairalanders Ermmmm, i didn't ask for that info. |

Me: reply, she asked can I see your result? I gave her my Wes evaluation result, she looked at it, she replied, can I see your result again, and I don't heard him well, and I gave her my certificate, and I have lower credit in it, and she asked, who will be sponsoring you, I said my father, she asked, what is he doing for Living ? I told him medical doctor, she asked how much does he has in his account, I told her I have the bank statement with me here, and she asked me to pass her, and I do so. My school fee is 21,870 us dollars per year, and father has 142,224 us dollars on his account, she looked the bank statement for view second and drop it, and she started filling a form on her system, she bring up my certificate and started typing, she type about for 5 min, and then she gave me letter of denied, and I asked her why she denied me, she said I w see it in the letter she gave me, and I asked again, can I know the actual point, she said I can reapply, pls can someone tell me likely stuff she may have typed @adex1lov Hi there! I would like to advise not to be in a hurry to hit the embassy. You need a lot of grooming on how to answer visa interview questions. You should be more explanatory on the questions. I'm also not sure you wrote any standardised exam(s), not good at all, especially that you have a lower credit in your National Diploma. With all due respect, I hope you don't speak the way you write. As the son of a doctor im sure the VO will expect a lot better from you. Please write some standard exams and have good scores... Do Not Go for another interview without them. Seek professional help too if you have to and read up on previous thread in this forum. I know I havnt covered everything about you, others will hopefully contribute. It's gonna be your 3rd attempt at the embassy, make it count!!! #BlessYou |
