What did Northeastern do to you? Lol
I’ve taken a few courses there and it’s a pretty decent school IMO among all the other too tier schools in my current state.

I honestly don’t see anything wrong with a change of career. It’s something I did years ago.
However, you have to be able to explain to a VO why the career change and what it’ll do for you.

Goodluck!!

Started following this thread a while back, i thank and appreciate everyone who contributes immensely to keep the thread alive, My Visa was approved this morning at the Lagos Consulate. I am going for a masters program at Franklin Uni. Industrial and Organizational Psychology. The Interview lasted for about 2mins and the following conversation ensued

VO: *smiles* Good morning

Me: Good morning

VO: So tell me about this Program at Franklin University

Me: It's a masters program in I/O Psychology. Industrial Psychology is the scientific study of human behavior in the work place and it also applies psychological theories and principles to Organizations. (VO was nodding and smiling)

VO: why this program

Me: The world of business is at its fastest pace in the history of mankind, hence organizations are having to deal with a lot of problems which are mostly "people problem" and when it comes to dealing with people, Psychologists are best positioned to offer help.

VO: what do you plan to do after the program and what will you do with this degree in Nigeria

Me: I plan to come back to Nigeria and change the business game, the discipline is behind in Nigeria because most employers believes Human Resource Practitioners are suited to solve human problems at the workplace but they don't understand human behaviour can only be efficiently dealt with by Psychologists, so i have a Job to do to make them understand this. (VO was nodding and smiling again)

VO: Are you working currently

Me: I completed my National Youth Service 2 months ago and i continued working voluntarily at the Local government where i served.

VO: What school did you graduate from

Me: University of Lagos

VO: And what did you study

Me: Psychology

VO: who is your sponsor

Me: My Elder brother

VO: what does he do

Me: He's an IT consultant and he co owns a firm that sells computers and does installation

VO: When does this program start

Me: Feb 1 2016

VO: Congratulations because your Visa has been approved. Pick it up at the circled location in 3 days.

Based on the advice and comments i saw on this thread, i wrote TOEFL even though it wasn't required by my school. After evaluating my Transcript GRE was waived. Basically the process wasn't as tough as people made it seem or the VO probably made it seem easy because she kept smiling all through, and yes i saw the popular chinko guy everyone here talks about. Lol He denied like first 3 people he interviewed i wasn't scared to face him though. In the end it was GOD. once again, i thank everyone on here you guys are the best!

Congratulations
So How did you deal with Akintayo and kemmer and fagbohungbe and all those wonderful guys In psycho dept?

Is this a condition with which you can pay your tuition? Seems the cash you want to pay is only obtainable in U.S.

Anyways, you don't have to pay before you get your visa. That's applicable to all schools.

Lmao!

Hello everyone, I really must commend you all for your very informative and insightful posts here. This is the Nigeria Nigerians crave, but the media won't capture.

Anyway, I'll like to know what the Job prospect is like for Environmental Engineers in the U.S. I've read online reviews, and most seem to be dissuading. I have a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Civil Engineering, but would like to major in Environmental Engineering; it's where my strength lies. However, I'm ready to give it some thought if it turns out seemingly an unpropitious choice.

Also, I'll be writing the GRE in three weeks, and saying I'm still very much unprepared would be an understatement. I've got the following schools in mind:

University of Cincinnati
New Mexico Institute of Mining and Tech.
University of Wyoming
Texas A & M, Kingsville

Given I'm not as rich as most of you lol, I'll be needing some sort of funding. I do not have stellar grades, but I hope to do pretty okay in the GRE. I have a CGPA of 3.83/5. Do you think these schools are relatively safe, and should fund? I've made my enquiries but would still need firsthand information, pardon me.

Special shout out to Slimmy05, Imperiouxx, Sirriddy, Bigfrancis21, Walspring, Ebdib, MsNas, Profojah, Dicapino, and in fact, everyone lol! You lots don't know how much I know about you. cheesy

We also know a lot about you! cool

School zones are equipped with cameras here. Your speed readings at the time, plate and car photos, a short video clip along with your ticket will be sent to you in an envelop few days after been caught speeding.

Hahahaahahahahaha grin
New York means business. Lmao!

Toll and traffic bills in FL takes a month and a half to arrive... You woulda forgotten you committed the offense.

NY road test is very hard. Many NY drivers got it after more than 1 trial. I don't have to retake any road test when I was giving up my NM for NY license. However driving on NY roads is crazzzzy... top speed if you can handle it. I do 80/90 mph on highways depending on how spirit moves me and 10 above speed limit in streets. All my road violations were from few mph above speed limit in school zones.

School zones? Ahhhh that's a NO NO!!!
School zones and Airports are easy places to get tickets...My uncle screamed it into my ears, luckily no traffic tickets yet. I was pulled over once, the officer said I was "changing lanes too frequently". My pilot uniform saved me that day.

A lesson to all, U don't need to own Ur car b4 U learn hw to drive. My first driving was when I was in Junior Class.

Exactly what I told someone here...he wants to wait till he buys his own car before he learns. That's like saying you'll wait till you build your own swimming pool before you learn to swim.
