Politics / Re: Kogi Poll: Resign Now, PDP Tells AGF, INEC Chair by Stoical: 8:54am On Nov 25, 2015 |
This is my humble reasoning on this issue and please do not attempt to insult me, as I have a right to reason and I ain't quoting you. The AGF might say what he said because he has to be in the good book of his masters...however, in doing this, he may have misled INEC who is supposed to be independent both in its decision making and actions. What I see here is that after this unfortunate event, INEC should have made a pronouncement but they remained silence until the AGF spoke. Meaning, they were not sure of what to do, as such need the guidance of AGF and not necessarily their legal team(I might be wrong). As such, they are now seen to be partisan. I felt they should have gone to the court for immediate interpretation cum judicial pronouncement on a matter as this'd which the 2 constitution they are guided with had not envisaged and as such never spoke on. This case should not be compared with Amaechi's even though it looks so close. The 2 events here are very different. What might make them seem close is the fact that the party is often accepted to be the one that wins and not the individual. But, I'll say that different strokes shouldn't be use for different folks on similar/almost similar scenarios; a case at hand is Gombe election petition tribunal which gave PDP victory to APC on account that PDP primary was not witness by INEC, rather than give PDP a chance to conduct a fresh primary, just as the are giving APC now in Kogi. Smh for Nigeria shaa. I will want to ask some of us, if they would have voted for APC if Tinubu was its flagbearer (no pun intended). I believe party is a platform, but it is the individual that we all voted for, as such I believe also we will never vote for a party who doesn't present a candidate, even if INEC allows them to stand in for election, reason being that we may not like who they will bring up later... As for Kogi, with the inconclusive result thus announced, APC/late Audu led and it is understandable when APC insist on substituting its dead candidate. But, would that person be who the Kogians actually would have voted for? A question that begs an answer from Kogians. Well, however it turns out, I feel APC will still win even with a re-run, because the citizens are tired of Wada's method of governance I just feel that the supreme court may overturn this case or probably uphold it, as they are judges that know better than I do, especially if they are nonpartisan. Sorry for the long writeup, but I couldn't have summari summarized my point earlier...comprehend and give me your own view... 1 Like |
Education / Re: Riemann Hypothesis Solved By Dr Opeyemi-facts From Clay Foundation by Stoical: 3:39pm On Nov 18, 2015 |
Karmanaut: I appreciate your take. I must say that I haven't come across the "solution" by the Opeyemi. If he didn't propose a solution by himself, of course, he deserves what he is called. I was only trying to advise our people not to always call people names, when they seem to achieve any feat, perharps with naivity on my side too, as I haven't come across the proposed solution myself... |

Education / Riemann Hypothesis Solved By Dr Opeyemi-facts From Clay Foundation by Stoical: 7:16pm On Nov 17, 2015 |
We will keep arguing back and forth art the proposed solution of this millennium problem. However, the Clay Foundation has spelt out what must be done for the question to be considered as solved. If you understand the response of the Clay's representative, she only refers us back to their site...when you go through the page, you will see the question tagged UNSOLVED... The page was updated on 17/11/2015 by 14:27 or there about. One thing is sure, when you go through their rules, which I will paraphrase these two that might make sense for us; 1) That the proposed solution must be published in a reputed mathematical journal; may not necessarily be sent to the Clays directly. 2) That the proposed solution would be verified by selected member and non-member of the Institute after 2 years; meaning a person may have solve the problem, but needs to wait for 2 years for verification before it can be considered solved. However, if the man claim to have solved this Millennial question, we shouldn't take it to be a fraud, rather applaud him and wish him well. Thanks http://www.claymath.org/millennium-problems/rules-millennium-prizes |

When I hear peole say the fine is too much for MTN, I wonder if we do reason in this country. You register a company, u are given terms and conditions. You have lawyers to read and interprete them for you. Yet, you go against the rules. Time to pay came, you call it names...abeg, does MTN or any other network for that matter gives us chance to understand their own terms and condition? Won't they send us annoying messages and then say T & C applies...Yet what the T/C are, we don't know. Abeg, make them pay up and rest jareh 2 Likes 1 Share |

Immortals Weep on the Mortals Look! The cloud is running away with its tears And it carries with it an ocean of tears from the immortals. Today, we are spared of its wailing. Yesterday, the mortals where bathed with their tears. What can we do when they decide to weep? We can only hope tomorrow is a better day. 2 Likes |

HungerBAD: Which people of Rivers state r u referring to? Do u reside in Rivers state? If yes, have u really sampled the opinion of Rivers people? Except you are thinking of rigging, which would be so hard... Wike will win a rerun. Look, I love Dakuku and I feel in a country like US or UK, Wike would not stand him...but sorry, this is Nigeria where sentiment is d yardstick for supporting a candidate... Let me leave the wider scope of my last statement for next time...Just know that Peterside is suffering due to the myopic reasoning of most Riverians (that he is backed by a "traitor" and as such, he won't be massively supported). So, think again or rather, study the political scenarios of d state again before u conclude...meanwhile, Wike is making most region of the state smile, as regards road construction or repairs. I might say, he foresaw this happening and he used that to be endeared to 'on-the-fence' voters. Well...my opinion as a Rivers resident though... 1 Like |
Politics / Re: Ministerial Screening: Amaechi Fights Back by Stoical: 9:47am On Oct 17, 2015 |
The day we all call a spade, "a spade", certainly Nigeria will be great. For now, we all must continue suffering for our lack of patriotism. I am of the opinion that PMB is aware of all these issues but refuses to dabble into them...for him, he has done is part...nominating the person who joined to bankroll his campaigns. However, he has equally exposed the person to the litmus test of Nigerians and its laws... I say this because under PDP, the event may have played out differently... But, why should we always fight for those who have moral burdens?...then again, Politics will be used as a reason. Why don't we make politicians scared of milking us dry?... Political reasons again. I am afraid that it'll take Armageddon of a kind for Nigeria of our dream to become a reality. For whether, Amaechi becomes a minister or not, most of us will prolly still remain in our "state"... APC is not so different from PDP wrt its content, only that its leader has decided to do things differently and we should be praying he continue in that way. Attacking each other without reasonable but emotional arguments only makes us what we are up till now...Losers. Because, at the end, what tangible thing that is not our right have we gained from these people 2 Likes |

I really wanna deviate a bit to congratulate the people discussing this event here, for the decorum, mature responses and insightful comments/analysis on the issues on ground. This is one of the reasons I often log into nairaland. However, I must beg some of us, who may not be willing to see others have different opinions from theirs, to read the message and move on, rather than accuse/insult the OP. See, there are many ways we learn in this world, let's make use of such opportunities when they present themselves. As for the topic on ground, we will always see the end of it and we should remember that morality most often doesn't play a role in law courts... I seek not to discuss on the issue, so as not to be seen as taking sjdes and in the process... Once again, more grease, blaksmith, seunmsg, Fulanimafia, etc... |

Politics / Student Rejected By UPTH Died;student Pro Test by Stoical: 9:51am On Aug 31, 2015 |
I almost got beaten by trying to get this across. Students of Uniport riots and block the entrance of UPTH as a result of one of them dying after being refuse treatment from UPTH staff. Happening now... Sorry couldn't take more picture due to threat to my life... Well, I learnt that a female student had collapsed yesterday and on heading to the hospital, they were told that there was no bed and as such, the patient can't be accepted. She was taken out to a private clinic who later refer her back to UPTH. When they returned, the same info was given them again. Due to the up and down movement, the girl died. So, the students started rioting since that yesterday up till today. Vehicles where not allowed inside. When 5 police patrol vans where later called to disperse the students, they came outside the hospital where we were waiting and started blocking East-West road...the funny part... After succeeding to take this picture with my blackberry phone, I decided to use my tablet....whoollaaa, I heard "this one is snapping us''. Before he could go back to call other co-rioters, omo, I scamp... Everyone had to run because of me...lol Well, there is your half-witnessed story. Police men are still in the premises as I write... I guess I deserve front page naa with this my nairaland I-report...

Excuzeme: Thanks for the decorum...by the way, my "some people said" statement was a reaction leading to my explanation why politcal fights should not be taken personal. So, you assume my position wrongly there. I'll also wanna agree with you that she will face more embarrassment for daring to support or fight for her husband, which I believe most wome(with her background) in her shoe will do. I never supported her actions then and will not do it now, rather, I just felt the action against her was harsh. Probably, with your explanation on VIP lounge at the airport, she isn't a dignitary in Nigeria to assess such. Thanks for your insight.... And again, I can't force peeps from disrespectng her anyway. Cheers! |

Excuzeme: Hello, I am few things but not a hypocrite. Please, don't call me names. Make your points and move on please. But note that people are different and as such, their attitudes are not meant to be the same. I never said that she didn't call PMB those names, rather I pointed that in politjcs people throw tantrums and name callings exist but they end with elections, except for bitter rivals. I commend PMB and the wife for decorum expressions but I pity for some of we supporters. Also, you are a VIP according to your status or height you attend in your environment and not necessarily as per your behaviour. You may do well to check the meaning of the acronym VIP. Please, quote with clear and insult free argument... Thanks. |

Going through most comment here, I see why we can't employ most social media users. This must be the most potent platform to assess one's applicant... For those that celebrate former President's wife, I say "he who has never sin should cast the first stone". If actually she doesn't merit the VIP status, she should be communicated to. Some comments said she used vulger words against PMB and as such she should face the music. Well, I have played politics while in school and I know we castigate our opponent as we like in other to win votes. I know it often ends after the elections. Anyway, let proper things be done as we are clamouring for strong institutions... 2 Likes |

I wish to call this 'conspiracy', 'trick', face-saving', and equally some of the info there maybe...I mean, maybe true. ARD is now trying to exert their power as the majority force in NMA. Especially, when the MDCAN, few of them though, are frustrating them. Well, the management of all Government hospitals should seriously be in the hands of Administrators and the medical services only managed by the professionals in the field. I remember when JOHESU went on strike; one of their grouses where as it concerns management of govt hospitals... then, they were seen as being selfish...well, I must concede that most of their demands where...don't they all. God, protect our patients... Last 2 weeks or so, most govt teaching hospitals and FMCs were on strike for this non-payment of their money, which I believe govt did release such monies...where they are, I can't say. Rumour has it that they (ARD) have listen to voice of reasoning, as the timing was so wrong...this one that it is alleged that CMDs and MDs of hospitals are instigating them into striking...that I feel is a conspiracy. However PMB must as a matter of urgency turns his eyes and redeem our health sector, which has been ran down into the deepest rot that could ever be; firstly by the MANAGEMENT (CMDs, MDs, Management boards) and secondly, Majority of the hospital staff ( JOHESU, ARD, MDCAN, etc)... Please PMB, I wish you can do this sooner than later... Smh...what a decadence of an institution...*a patient's cry!!! |

Fighting is never the best way to resolve issues and I believe this large number of HOR members is one of the reason for this, as you rarely see this de-speakable actions. If you support this, wow, I wonder what legacy this could really leave for our children, especially with the reasons for their action, not warranting it at all...
