Politics / Re: Reason We Attacked Militants Hideout In Calabar - Ohwo by Stoical: 11:31am On Jun 21, 2015
Reference:

The government continues to make the same mistakes over and over and over again. What should ordinarily be a criminal incident has been turned to a military operation. What should ordinarily require investigations and arrests is being turned to 'war'. This is how Boko Haram turned from a local activism to political criminality to full blown insurgency.

The state out of its sheer ignorance and incompetence is want to escalating incidents the same way a baby violently destroys a toy it cannot handle. People might point to the terrible violence perpetuated and the competencies in equipment and tactics display as justification for military action 'to match' them but this was the very reason the Mobile Police force was created. If their competencies have diminished over time or those of criminals have improved then they should be re-trained and re-tooled to handle matters of criminality.

Preceeding the North Hollywood shoot-out the military didn't take over California and bomb downtown Hollywood or even set up road blocks. They simply changed their weapons and tactics. Those criminals were 'taken out' by SWAT. Our equivalent here is MOPOL. What are they doing. Escorting politicians and guarding eateries. Very soon the military will follow suit. Eroded and corroded by watching its core purpose shift.

Those criminals that attacked the station were not warring against the state, their ideology is theft for monetary gain. If we prove to them that it requires the state to contend with them, they will take on the state as well.

Nigeria must get it right.

Yes Bro...Nigeria or Nigerians must get it right.
Sometimes it is so funny when our youths and some elders can't use their brain and reason. Oh! I pity our tomorrow... I refuse to blame this on computer and time wasting on watching Telemundo, Zee world, Wrestling and Premier leagues... Instead of tasking our brains on intellectual reasoning and solution profering.
Yesterday, it was Otuele Drunk, today it is Daura President...name callings, coinage and smearing...as if it does ever help to solve anything... We rather chose to embolden hatred and curses at every slightest provocation and most often when the perception of criticism is that of "because he's not from your side or not your brother, etc"
This often make me avoid such arenas... YES, I might be quickly reminded that it is a faceless public social media but NO, it should rather be a platform for learning and contributing to each other's personal and general growth...

Well, no need to pour out my feelings, rather still continue to be hopeful that one person, probably after reading such 'pains' as mine, will change or try to adjust for good...

Cheers!

Romance / Re: My Boyfriend Introduced Me As A 'friend' To His Dad. Should I Be Worried? by Stoical: 7:54am On Jun 18, 2015
Hi, when I came across this thread, I had to open to be sure it ain't my gal wink.
Well, early this month, I introduced my babe to my parent as my "friend". Even though, my parent later were teasing me to explain better...my response was thus "Have I ever bring a gal to the house?, they said NO...I now asked them to deduce from there". See, they understood because I have never done that and I needed their on-the-surface assessment of her, as I am planning engagement next...
So dear, don't be worried, esp if you are sure he LOVES you. Best of luck!

Sports / I Am Ready To Buy ARSENAL At Any Cost - Dangote by Stoical: 7:32am On Jun 18, 2015
Billionaire businessman, Alhaji Aliko Dangote, has insisted that he will soon have ‘enough time and enough resources’ to buy Arsenal football club, whatever the price.
Dangote, 58, is Africa’s richest man having amassed a fortune in the region of $18.4 billion (£12.2 billion). He is currently the 67th richest man in the world.
He first spoke of his interest in purchasing the Gunners last month when he admitted that ‘one day’ he hoped to buy the club, adding that he ‘already knew’ his strategy to take them forward.
That day may arrive sooner than first expected, with Dangote saying that completion of his proposed oil refinery in Nigeria will provide the funds necessary to launch a takeover of the club.
“When we get this refinery on track, I will have enough time and enough resources to pay what they are asking for,” he said.
“There were a couple of us who were rushing to buy, and we thought with the prices then, the people who were interested in selling were trying to go for a kill,” Dangote continued.
“We backtracked, because we were very busy doing other things, especially our industrialisation. They are doing well, but they need another strategic direction,” he added. “They need more direction than the current situation, where they just develop players and sell them.”
Stan Kroenke is Arsenal’s majority shareholder, with the American owning 66.64% of the club’s parent company, Arsenal Holdings Plc.

Yeah! Seriously, I woke up to read that in the media. And it goes to explain what I earlier tried to reason. Now, Buhari isn't even regretting the actions of Saraki, for having to do such wonders when he had "distracted" other senators... Well, whatever anyone says, the facts are getting clearer.

We re saying the same thing, I am not in anyway concerned weda PMB likes or dislikes saraki emerging as d SP, noooooo, don't get me wrong.

Ofcoz saraki was elected constitutionally.

My only concern is how myopic those dat went for the meeting could be, they refused to see the hand writing on the wall. How could u explain the fact that u re scheduled for an exam that will determine ur next step in life(assume) and u left the exam to go and watch barca vs madrid match, of course the people u will be writing the exams with will commence with or without you, and that Is wat jut happened

I only pray, that lawan and co should not discharge their duties in a myopic and reckless manner as they have already shown.

My 2cents.
Yeah, u got me cracking on the exam vs match illustration. Meanwhile, the issue now is for APC to find a way, reconcile their members and not look at it from an insubordinate eye and move on to assist PMB as this is the major needs of Nigerians ATM. They should learn from PDP handling of Tambuwal case... Remember, this is Senate, which is the upper chamber of the House.

Let's take a closer look at these events and probably answer these pertinent questions...
Qtn 1: Who's choice was Lawan?(Tinubu or ...)
Qtn 2: Does Buhari feel very comfortable with those backing Lawan?
Qtn 3: Between the NE and NC, who has more political weight and backers? Note: Atiku factor has not yet been discussed...
Qtn 4: Does The former political godfathers still have a say in our politics? (OBJ, Atiku, Babangida...and the likes)
Lastly: How sure are we that "the meeting called by PMB at the time the National Assembly was supposed to be inaugurated was not planned? And how do we explain the fact that, PMB had earlier sent a letter, authorising the Inauguration of the 8th Assembly by the Clerk of the house?

Really, to clear the air... The house does elects its leader by simple majority (108 - 51 = 57)... So, they acted under the law.
To unseat the SP, they need 2/3 majority...

Wow! Buhari said, "I'll work with anybody, setting a precedence that he ain't supporting anyone, yet a "meeting" was called at the exact time where the house was to be inaugurated...(please, decipher this, my good friends)

I guess cluelesnes still runs in the bloods of our senators, how could they have gone for that meeting, knowing fully well that for a senate to convene, that all they need is just 1/3 of the house? Don't they know that dey will be outsmarted?

He, whose house is on fire does not go rat hunting.

This has showed us how our senate is being and will be ran by clueless MOFOS, all those that went for the meeting with PMB miscalculated, and I pray that they will not mis-calculate when discharging their constitutional duties as low makers. Otherwise, na we, wey be d common man go hear am on the long run.

Naaa, the US has not got them just yet. They are arrested in Switzerland, where Fifa presidential election is to take place. And this is solely by Swiss intelligence officers, even as they await extradition of some of them to US for law proceedings...NOTE: things were done properly here, unlike una "unlawful" officers who couldn't wait to collect a warrant before evading someone's house... If they actually did get that, they wouldn't have stayed outside, they would have forcefully entered and fish him out... It pays to know facts...

It's funny how people just know that he is not innocent just by reading "piecemeal" of news here and there. I personally will not crucify him yet, as I ain't got hard facts about his perceived drug deals that may have took place in Chicago. However, if he is guilty, he should go face the law (but, I equally hope this bilateral agreement will be reciprocated someday if an American is involved in a shady deals - drug-related, oil bunkery, etc in Nigeria).

Meanwhile, let's wait and hear the rule of a competent court on the matter...25-5-2015 is just tomorrow.

I pray for a firm decision making Nigeria, especially as she relates with her international partners...this and only this will bring back then respect we long deserved in international affairs. Amen.

No One should ever be above the Law, I mean, NO ONE, (not even my father)... I so submit.
