Sheriff, then known as SAS (Senator Ali-Modu Sheriff) was an APP (ANPP) Senator from 1999 to 2003. He had control of the party structures of ANPP in Borno state and made sure he upstaged old Gov Mala Kachalla of his same political party, by winning the primaries.

Mala Kachalla then decamped to AD to have a party on whose platform to seek re-election. SAS won the election defeating all parties candidates, including the current governor who had just decamped from ANPP to AD about a month to the polls, and SAS became governor.

The political calculation in the state had long been determined as old Mala Kachalla having support of the old and elderly population, while SAS had the support of the youths and youth groups (Yusuf and his boko haram).

With his money and Islamic radicalized youths and thugs, SAS held the ANPP party structure and was able to unseat the governor from his own party at the primaries. So ANPP won re-election, except that there was a change in the flagbearer.

Borno and Yobe have always been ANPP states. No PDP government ever.

Within 2yrs of joining PDP, he was rigorously pursued by the PDP rank and file, to accept to become the party chairman.

All of a sudden, the smart PDP politicians who wanted to use and dump Sheriff, have now found out that he has become a rogue operative of theirs.

Can this Bourne legacy be contained any longer when he has now assumed the role of director?

I would always find it hard to blame the present administration for our current economic reality.
However, I do blame them for the social consciousness that has hardly changed. You do not need funds to change such things, all you need is the political will.

The police is still corrupt.
The military is still overbearing in a civil democratic society.
The civil service is still corrupt.
The health and education sectors are still awash with a disenchanted labour force that have no regard for their jobs and the customer.
Public executions of accused robbers and accident causing drivers are still tolerated without any concern by the government. Not even the minister of information, talkless the presidency has saw need to make a categorical statement on the matter.
The life of a Nigerian can be taken at will by whomever extrajudicially, yet no condemnation from the right corridor of power.

No policy is even being planned to address these issues.

Lastly, who was relieved of corruption and still became a senatorial candidate of the party of the same ruling government and regime that "terminated" their appointment due to corruption? Who was relieved of corruption and never had a criminal prosecution against him/her on that matter?

Answer is Stella Oduah, because she was never relieved of office owing to corruption.
