As for Ukraine not joining NATO, it will surely happen, they've been pushed to the wall
No sensible country will allow Ukraine membership. With Russia war and Russia control over crimea and their comedian president. Any little thing can spark conflict. Wholl allow such conflict prone country
At least this war should be over before any of such discussion, but what can Putin do if Ukraine joins NATO now? Nothing
I salute the unwavering support of the Biden administration for Ukraine, the invaders should pull out and go back home.
Putin should be more concerned about the cracks in his government, he won't survive another mutiny.
The invasion of Ukraine has further enlarged NATO with Finland membership and Sweden very soon, so what's the point of this senseless war? it has turned counterproductive.
Them you find thousands of Russian soldiers on polish birder
Now that Nigerians do not need paper visa to travel to Rwanda. I think this would be an opportunity for those who would like to seek a better environment while our country grows for better
DaChosenOne: The vast majority of Yorubas are Christians. My maternal family included. Muslim Yorubas are a minority. I grew up in Lagos. Churches everywhere. Literally the biggest African pastors are Yoruba and the big international churches are ran by Yorubas. In South Africa, UK, US and Asia, My mum spent time in the North, she's seen the fistulas abokis give young girls. Yoruba people don't do child marriage like abokis, Thank God. My mum was safe and protected by her parents while in the North.
So number of churches depict population of christians abi. Mumu
Even oyedepo and fatoyinbo are born in Ilorin, does that make Ilorin christian majority.
Have you been to Oyo state, osun, Ogun to say christians are majority
See this bastards called otunba Gbenga Daniel that turned Ogun state to den of robbery, kidnapping and insecurity. I remember those days, where every street is filled with posters of missing people. Before amosun did the magic. This bastard is now having a mouth to talk. Werey.
Ezeama400: Unity of yorubas in religion remains a figment of imagination of clowns on Nairaland from SW extraction..
I have personally and stylishly asked some Christian Yoruba single ladies I have worked with before..
I asked them, ..
If Igbo Christian man come for your hand in marriage and a Yoruba man who's a Muslim come the same time and you have only those two options ,...who would you marry ?... They all told me Igbo, except one whose father is a Muslim that told me he doesn't have issue with religion... In fact, one of them told me "Olorunmaje" for her to marry a Muslim Yoruba Now I keep asking myself if Yoruba on nairaland are different from yorubas offline or do the ones on nairaland love deceiving themselves ?
Can somone like Prof Akitola give out his daughter for a Christian to marry ? Average Christian in South West can't give out his daughter to a Yoruba Muslim to marry as well . Let somebody like Osibanjo try it let me see.
80 percent of yorubas both Christians and Muslims are conscious of their religion.
If you want to know if what I am saying true, make the inquries yourself if you are very close to yorubas (Female ones)
Some SW Nairaland rodent just love deceiving themselves with "Religion doesn't matter in Yoruba land".
Your goal is to divide the Yoruba with Yoruba Muslim nonsense. Thousands of not millions of Yoruba married interreligiously. Okay ? Go to Yoruba land to see for yourself.
Abemy: A scholar once write that Allah's other name is Nanisin, or yayin, meaning "God of the moon. That Allah is the moon god, a deity, and this since occupies my medula oblongata.
Not true, Muslims do not worshíp the moon.
" Do not prostrate to the sun or to the moon, but prostate to Allah , who created them, if it should be Him that you worship" Quran 41vs37
Almost everyone has stories of someone who has made or lost tons of money from sports betting. A simple internet search will throw up tons of examples. There is the story of a popular Senior GP in the UK who was jailed three years for stealing £1.1m within a space of 3 weeks due to online gambling addiction. There is a block of four flats, off Ikotun Igando Road, that the rumours indicate was built from the proceed of sports betting success. The stories, whether of gain or pain, are endless.
Experts point to the increase in penetration of mobile telephony, widespread availability of broadband internet and growing global attraction of football leagues in Europe as the principal drivers of the ubiquity and adoption of sports betting across Nigeria. The engagement of popular influencers in sports betting marketing is also a factor here. Despite the deeply religious orientation of the citizens, sports betting has continued to gain ground across the length and breadth of the country. One of the main dangers of sports betting in Nigeria is the potential for financial losses. Betting in sports involves risking money on the outcome of a game or event, and it is not uncommon for people to lose more money than they can afford. Families have starved, children have had to stop schooling with many homes broken apart because of the financial losses occasioned by sports betting.
Another risk is the potential for addiction. Some people may become so engrossed in sports betting that they neglect their personal and professional responsibilities. It can lead to problems such as neglect of family and work and even criminal activity in some cases. Experts concede that gambling is addictive. Sports betting, in all its forms, is gambling. It follows that sports betting is addictive, contrary to what operators may try to portray.
In addition, the issue of underage gambling through sports betting deserves special attention due to the potential harm it can cause to minors, including addiction. Sadly, today minors can access sports betting facilities without any encumbrance.
It is clear that to truly minimize the risks associated with sports betting in Nigeria, it is important to adopt a holistic approach. Yes, individuals engaging in sports betting must take responsibility for themselves and their families and know to proceed with caution and set limits for themselves. People must set a budget for how much money they are willing to risk, only betting with money that they can afford to lose, and be willing to seek help if they feel that their betting habits are becoming a problem.
But the government must also take a more hands-on role in regulation, granting permits and protecting the citizens from unscrupulous sports betting operators.
Operators, naturally, are quick to point out that sports betting creates jobs. They point to the myriad of betting shop outlets across the country in addition to in-house staff members to prove that they are a viable economic activity. In addition, they pay taxes. Their operations in many instances however may leave much to be desired.
At over $2 billion, the nation’s sports betting industry is today a behemoth. It must however be tamed if the country wishes to harness the benefits. Again, the onus is on the government and the regulator to rein it in before it wrecks the future of the youth.
Consider this, while sports betting is getting more and more popular, the impact on sports development is still largely negligible. We must ask questions. Over the last decade of tremendous growth, how many new sports grounds have been built with funds from sports betting?
This comes at a time when some set of people said, FG Is planning to tax. Market women.
Anyway, I advice every citizen of this beautiful country, Nigeria. To embrace peace, love and patience with togetherness. With time we will get to where we want.
Nigeria has the highest GDP in Africa, richest country in Africa. That opens ground for further growth. Let's embrace each other. What united us is more than what separates us. We've married interethnically. I can't count number of my Yoruba people that married Igbo including Governor of my state. Nothing can separate us as neighbors, at least. I pray we find lasting peace and progress.

In the state of Akwa Ibom in southeastern Nigeria, it is common for children to be branded witches and face neglect and physical harm. Some Christian churches even perpetuate these superstitious beliefs, and self-proclaimed healers make good money performing strange exorcism rituals.
