Anything you do will have to be thought through a million times because it will be misconstrued as sexual interest by males and antagonistic behavior by fellow women. No matter how accomplished you are,you will always be judged on the basis of your appearance which is probably the worst part of being beautiful.

Life is indeed difficult for extremely beautiful women and more difficult if you are academically sound(she use wetin she get collect wetin she no get).

While I understand what you're saying, you were able to notice it and make a big issue of it because you're too self-conscious — I may even say, self-absorbed!

There's this desire to be admired, complimented, and treated specially. You get disappointed when you don't get that. But you have to understand that everyone has his/her problem and is focused on solving that — beauty, or rather complimenting beautiful people, is not what an average Nigerian is concerned about.

The solution is to focus on things that matter — putting the effort to succeed in whatever you are doing — and forget about self. If your business interest lies in how you look, then, I suggest modeling!

One more thing though, don't take what people say or do around you too seriously. Be less self-conscious!

Funny enough, I see myself in this category — though I didn't do 3rd class as the course I studied don't do that ranking.

@ NSEC regulatory duties: nobody is stopping NSEC from regulating the Nigerian equity market, but they cannot tell the citizens how to invest their money. Americans invest in European and Asian markets via international brokers like Interactive Brokers, TradeStation, Charles Schwab, etc. Even Chinese do invest in the U.S. and European markets. Why can't Nigerians have access to the same markets? Unfortunately, those International brokers don't see us big enough to warrant their presence, but these platforms — Trove, Bamboo, Chaka, etc. — try to bridge that gap by acting as proxies for these big brokers. NSEC should allow Nigerians to enjoy the good work these platforms are doing. NSEC's job is to regulate.

My brother, being a Nigerian feels like a curse sometimes, which is why I have promised my unborn child that he will never be condemned to the green passport alone.

For an investor I think the first thing is to discuss with the management of the platform you are investing with to find out how the statement will affect them.

The second thing might be to communicate directly with the US/UK broker that you are registered with — the platforms (Trove, Bamboo, and co) are proxies for foreign brokers. Hopefully, there will be a solution.

The attention of the Securities and Exchange Commission (the Commission) has been drawn to the existence of several providers of online investment and trading platforms which purportedly facilitate direct access of the investing public in the Federal Republic of Nigeria to securities of foreign Companies listed on Securities Exchanges registered in other jurisdictions.

These platforms also claim to be operating in partnership with Capital Market operators (CMOs) registered with the Commission. The Commission categorically states that by the provisions of Sections 67-70 of the Investments and Securities Act (ISA), 2007 and Rules 414 & 415 of the SEC Rules and Regulations, only foreign securities listed on any Exchange registered in Nigeria may be issued, sold or offered for sale or subscription to the Nigerian public.

Accordingly, CMOs who work in concert with the referenced online platforms are hereby notified of the Commission's position and advised to desist henceforth. The Commission enjoins the investing public to seek clarification as may be required via its established channels of communication on investment products advertised through conventional or online mediums.

It's a pity that some people think that the NSEC is addressing Ponzi scheme platforms with this statement.

Actually, in this statement, NSEC is attacking the likes of Trove, Bamboo, and Chaka, which are platforms one can use to invest in foreign stocks from Nigeria.

It seems these big boys that have rendered the NSE a pump and dump exchange are pressuring NSEC to prevent Nigerians from investing in foreign stocks so that they will have no option than to bring their money to the NSE, offering them more money for their schemes. What I said is that one other guy was using the same trick last year, he was posting the results of another trader and at the same time using a demo account while pretending to be a guru in forex trading.

He used it to deceive people into following his trades and paying him for mentorship, he also used it to get referrals for people to register with a broker while using his link.

All this continued until another knowledgeable and experienced forex trader discovered what he was doing and called him out.

That's the same thing this guy is doing here!

Yeah, affiliates work directly with the broker. In fact, most brokers in Nigeria, if not all of them, are affiliate offices of the real broker.

But then, an affiliate need no manage other people's account or even blow it. The longer the account survives, the more the commissions keep coming!

Back to my question, what exactly were you saying? Where do you stand — that the trading was fake to lure investors and run with their money or that the trading is high-risk and would blow his investors' accounts? If you agree to the latter, then what's the point of the former, and if you agree to the former, what's the point of the latter?
