fidelism: Provide second eye pls Age 30 Single Education Msc Experience 1 year Ielts LRWS 6.5/7.5/7/7 I calculated 66/100 based on these details, meaning you are not yet eligible. You can increase this if your Listening score increases and your work experience moves to 2 years. You can also add 5 points with your spouse's language scores or by studying or having relatives in Canada. |

Saintp: Please check this profile
Man: Age 34, Certificate Bsc, years of experience 5yrs, spouse certificate Bsc
Is it possible to get up to 400 in CRS? I have tried to use the highest IELTS scores possible to make calculations but can't get beyond 350.
Secondly can teaching qualify as work experience? @yimiton has answered the first question. Use this to calculate CRS and do permutations when your situation changes: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/crs-tool.aspTeaching qualifies. Saintp: Thanks On a second thought, is there anything wrong if the man applies and go alone without the family? Will it affect the chances since the man will fill married in his profile? I'm looking at it because the cost and POF is easier for one person than when you add wife and 2 young kids. If the man succeed then he can bring his family to Canada through other means like family sponsorship. Does it make sense? Is there any chance of success.

Saintp: Please, I need to understand something. At what point will they require passport during the application process. I want to start the process but my family does not have thier passport. Will I have to get all passports ready before starting the process or can I start while I apply for thier passports?
At what point will the POF come in? Will I have to get the funds ready before applying initially or later during the process? Thanks 1. It depends. That of the spouse is required now if she will be writing IELTS - if not, then post-ITA. For your kid(s), their passports will be required post ITA, so you can start without it but ensure you obtain them ASAP. It is just GOOD PRACTICE for you and every family member to have valid passports at all times. Don't wait for this or that time! 2. IRCC requires evidence you have had the funds for about 6 months, except you have other valid reasons such as gift deed, sale of assets, etc. So you can get the funds in the approved form (liquid) anytime, but ensure your explanation is straight and will be accepted! Please for iqas eca application, do I also need to send checklist to school in addition to the academic record request form? No, only the request form should be sent. Also after filling my portion on the academic record request form, hope I can scan the form for them to print and complete their part. Yes, that's what i did and there were no issues. I honestly tot these thing were easy oo but now fear of mistake is causing all des too many questions. |

Cecegal: Update people, Further update on this:
EOR for my April 8the IELTS got ready last week my contact was only able to pick up today Writing got moved from 6.5 to 8....This is way beyond what I hoped for now my April 8th scores are as follows;LRWS:8.5,7.5,8,8.I feel kind of bad because I would have gotten a direct ITA in May due to the low scores currently on 415 now till September.
Please, please and please if you ever doubt that you should have gotten more always apply for an EOR. Congrats. That's a massive change. We really should petition BC on these our examiners. Still waiting for my spouse's EOR for 8th April Speaking. Really frustrating as its the 11th week now. Our CRS is currently 430 and we have missed 2 draws in July already. God's time anyway Hope you have submitted eAPR. |

ltee: Hello to my seniors and everyone on the group.
I am currently awaiting Copr and I need advise on landing especially getting a job.
I am a quantity surveyor usually known as construction estimator in Canada, about 8years work experience on various projects and PMP certified.
Please what are my chances of getting a job? Where do you propose I can get good construction jobs? I would also like to network with people in this field and perhaps join a whatsapp group for people landing.
Secondly, my wife is a dentist she also needs a mentor in her field too.
Thank you as you drop in you precious advise. Not sure where the jobs are but I understand there are jobs. Consider joining Canadian Institute of Quantity Surveyors ( www.ciqs.org). You can start an application now while still in Nigeria. They will assess you and determine which level you are on route to their professional certifications - this should come in handy in Canada. Your PMP is also very good for project management jobs. Join job boards and make contacts on linkedin too. Its surely easier to get a job while in Canada. |

40manlappy: Not surprised by the draw; the system maintenance notice gave me an hint but didn't expect the cutoff to jump to 449 so quickly.
Applicants with siblings (PR/Citizens) have flooded the pool! Not surprised too. This is perhaps the highest extent people with siblings and French can push cut off mark. The main issue for me now is how soon further draws will come. Going by some analysis, CIC is short of about 25k invitations from FSW for 2017 target, and they only need 7 or 8 draws of about 3500 to fill it up; this may mean only 1 draw per month till the end of the year. Monthly draws means the pool is filled up with more people, so CRS cut off in the lower 400s may not happen. What do I know anyway. I just hope there is a draw next week at low 400s. Let's stay positive people! |

EJIZY: Hi, I just submitted my EOR yesterday LRWS 9,7,6.5,7.5.Please what are my chances for the writing to go up and I was contemplating on doing the exam again but the morale is not just there, this was my second attempt. Hi, I think you tried to PM me. We can address any issues here so others can contribute and/or benefit. Good luck with the EOR. You have better chances with writing and speaking. I know how it feels after hours of studying and preparing. My first IELTS is awaiting EOR. I paid for a second but could not write as my employer fixed an important event on the eve of the exam. I wrote the third and now in the pool with CRS 430 and should increase if spouse's EOR comes in. Before the result came in, I had planned to book another, just in case. Please get your morale back up and take action if you want to go to canny. You can do it! So its either you wait for up to 8 - 10 weeks for EOR feedback or re-write. |

April 8th:Me:8.5,7.5,6.5,8.LRWS (Remarking writing although I rushed my writing task one as i spent so much time on the task 2,and didnt have any time left to proofread noticed some spelling errors would have loved to correct but pens were already up trying for that 0.5 is very important though. Hubby:8,6.5,7.5,8:LRWS (Remarking for reading and included writing as well he since its same money and he felt he should have gotten more.Staying really hopeful for the reading though that 0.5 is very much needed. I have no idea if writing will help. I sent someone to the Abuja office last week. He was told an email on the result will be sent to me from BC in UK by the 8th week, then I should allow 1 extra week for the hard copy to be delivered to me. However, I have read of shorter and longer times for EOR. |

amoese: Good morning house,I want to specially thank Zandora for creating this thread God bless you and for everyone that have selflessly contributed. I am writing my IELTS next month and I pray I excel I have started practicing. I am a banker by profession with 4 years plus experience and in total I have 7 years working experience having worked in two other places. I have a diploma and Bsc cert both in accounting. My questions are if am to put the 3 places I have worked as part of my working experience do I need to get references from them?, also do I need to get a transcript for both my diploma and bsc certificate?. secondly I am a single mom and I am applying for myself and son he is 13years, apart from his birth certificate am I presenting anything of his?. Thirdly my POF might not show funds being there for 6 months as I intend selling a landed property and my car will that be an issue? especially since I will show documents to prove source of funds. Please I will appreciate experts in the house to assist. Thank you. In addition to what Dammiehar has said: If the diploma was obtained after your BSc and study time was 1 year or more, you should consider evaluating it to get points for '2 or more degrees' For the POF, you should include a LOE and attach evidence of purchase and then sale of the land and car, payment receipts, etc. I also have to sell a land for funds, but I have read somewhere that landed property may be accepted....probably for some provinces though. Not certain so I intend to ask CIC for clarification soon. |

alt3r3g0: His own case was two different companies. Just an upload error.
So it was not caught until the fourth month when the detailed screening started.
I believe you are fine with one letter that indicates all positions.
For wifey, when creating her profile, we filled her current job position. After ITA, she had been promoted to another role (same NOC), and thats what the reference letter carried.
After uploading all docs, the place holder showed reference letter for the former role. We just raised a CSE with an LOE that the company only lists current role. Thanks a lot for the clarification. and congtrats too. |

Ehrnie: Hi - I think the example is for a different scenario. Perhaps the applicant had worked for two different companies (under the same NOC) and was going to claim points for both...& then mistakenly uploaded one reference instead of two.
You are right - one letter will suffice for your own circumstance. Thanks for the clarification. |

alt3r3g0: PCC for Ghana. On cic website, it was stated that they would first request for it (although i was only aware of this after they asked for it...either that or i completely forgot that i should be expecting a request because i started the process, but later stopped midway).
Advice to others post ITA, tripple check all your uploads are complete and correct. Thats the number one reason for rejection. There was a case recently of someone rejected that uploaded the same reference letter from one company twice rather than two different reference letters. Really? I worked in a company and was promoted to a different job title (fairly higher position), but with same NOC. EE profile requires that I separate the jobs. My plan was to get 1 letter stating the different positions and timelines. With the above case, does that mean I have to get separate reference letters for each period? I have read on canadavisa forum that you can get one letter for all the periods you worked in a company. I also read on CIC that your reference letter should include all positions held in the company and dates. www cic.gc.ca/english/resources/tools/perm/express/intake-complete.asp#document_checklist".......The following documents are mandatory for each work experience declared: a reference or experience letter from the employer, which - should be an official document printed on company letterhead (must include the applicant’s name, the company’s contact information [address, telephone number and email address], and the name, title and signature of the immediate supervisor or personnel officer at the company), - should indicate all positions held while employed at the company and must include the following details: job title, duties and responsibilities, job status (if current job), dates worked for the company, number of work hours per week and annual salary plus benefits; and Seniors, please advise on the this issue. |

Writing is one of the components with a higher probability of getting an increased band if remarked. Whats you CRS score with these results? Algbenguze: Hi guys, thanks for the loads of info here. I did my IELTS last November and scored LRWS 8.5,6.5,7.5,8.5 and was devastated because of the Reading score. I didn't apply for a remark because someone advised I shouldn't bother because scores never change for Reading or Listening. I have booked for another test for 8th July but want to know if anyone has successfully contested a Reading or Listening score with a positive outcome. I'm currently awaiting my ECA but just want to know my options in case a similar thing happens (I pray it doesn't) with my next test. Thanks I understand how you feel. The probability of scores increasing for Listening and Reading is very low as the answers are objective. I have read of exceptional cases though. I did EOR for my reading and currently awaiting the result by end of this month or early next, but I am not really expecting a miracle. I just wrote another exam thought. So just study hard for your exam in July. |

Epudome: Good morning everyone, please I understand that the occupation on my marriage certificate as the principal applicant has to be the same with the occupation I'm claiming points for. This is absolutely correct for me.
But the occupation on the certificate for my accompanying spouse is nt the same as what we av filled in the EE profile.
He was abroad (canada) doing a menial job which we were ashamed of putting in our marriage certificate so we put the occupation of what he studied in school in the certificate. However for EE we have to put the correct occupation he was doing that period since it was in the same canada nd they may do background check on him (this occupation gives no point at all that's why I'm the principal applicant).
Can we write a LOE to say the occupation on the certificate was a mistake. Do we need to do any legal stuff on the LOE like notarizing it? Hi, generally I think its preferable that the occupation on your marriage certificate should be in sync with your occupation / job at the time of marriage or at the time the certificate is dated; the job itself will appear in your work / personal history). I am not too sure, but maybe the LOE may work, if in your case you explain that it was a temporary job while he was looking for a permanent role in his preferred occupation. Others knowledgeable should please advise. |

This should give you a general understanding. Visit canada immigration's website to understand the procedures and any changes ( CIC.GC.ca). Also visit canadavisa.com. Check the Sticky Threads on the 'Express Entry / Expression of Interest' Forum. Then you can come back here and jump to every say 50 pages and read a few pages up or down it. That should give you more knowledge in a Nigerian context and with Nigerian experiences. You may have to fly to other referred pages or follow a conversation. You can also use the search engine for specific info. The pages from Jan 2017 to date should interest you too. There will be other websites to visit, but you will know through links from the above as you get along. Make sure you open a file on your PC or get a notebook to put down key info. Also write a personalised to do list. It's a long process and you must take personal responsibility! You can then ask specific questions. Don't thank me, just pray for me that God should answer my prayers and put me in the right direction. |

percee17: hmmm thanks for this but it sounds complex though. We both work and this is our side business. We really dont have any structure of financial statement. company policy etc. We just do plus and minus ourselves basically. The main challenge is all our monies is in this account. We did not use it for ITA as we use our individual work place. Our plan is to use the statement and include the letter from the bank showing us as signatories and the Registration of Business name. Just confused as to if this is sufficient proof. Take note of what boss13 and missShakara said. Your business is not just an investment, its also a going concern. CIC wants you to have unencumbered funds to be able to relocate. A business account makes that complicated. My opinion is that you are better off transferring the required funds to your account(s). The issue is which narration can you justify. One other option is to say it is EQUITY REFUND or RETURN - if you can show your initial investments into the business with bank statements, etc. You MAY also need a board resolution. These things are not complex, its just the way businesses should operate and keep records. I am also thinking that you NEED to include this business as part of your employment or personal history; because you are a co-owner /founder and carry out some activities for the coy. Can the gurus confirm this? |
