Only in Naija, you arrest, charge to court and then plead for time to investigate....If you have not concluded your investigation, why arrest the man. When will these guys learn, is it until IPOB turns into a full arms struggle

I do not support the use of extreme force by the NA on the group, but they were not unarmed. Have you stopped to think what would have happened if it were a group of civilians that ran into the group instead of the COAS.

Not entirely enclosed by land, but mostly enclosed by land.

However, I did check but the dictionary definition itself seems to me to be only literal and not the modern or colloquial day-to-day use of the word. Example; with technology landlocked nations can dredge rivers to create their own seaport. Should they still be called landlocked after dredging their own seaport?.

But, I see nothing to debate here, really.
Azerbaijan, Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan are regarded as landlocked countries despite sharing boarders with the land enclosed caspian sea. Switzerland has an inland port like you described above but it is still a landlocked nation, why? Cos the river runs through another sovereign nation who may or may not grant access to their ships
PoliticsRe: Landlocked Countries With High Success Rates In The World by subnormal: 11:23pm On Dec 09, 2015

Mali is not a landlocked nation. Mali enjoys the biggest access to the river Niger. Niger republic too, cause the river Niger pass through the southern part of the country.

Uganda, Rwanda, Burundi, Malawi, also enjoy access to rift lakes. Landlocked would mean they have no access to a river or sea/ocean.
A landlocked state or country is a sovereign state entirely enclosed by land, or whose only coastlines lie on closed seas. Landlocked countries can have rivers, research before posting. Ever heard of landlocked salmon?

Even "oloshos" can be raped. Even "oloshos" are human being and have the right to say no. I usually believe in hearing both sides but I don't know how you want to rationalize a woman being raped by a man and his 5 or 6 sons.
Well said, there is no justification for rape. Even if the victim was a prostitute, even if she agreed to a foursome(with 3 guys) the moment the fourth man shows up, it is no longer consensual and should be condemned by all.

Guy, I did not pro-rate the fee, so I don't know where your 0.1% is coming from. Go through all the posts on this thread.

I had earlier said the company would get 0.5%, if the 1% fee was split between the firm and the commercial banks equally. Another poster had corrected this, and said the amount that was actually due to the firm would be 0.05% as other entities were still involved in the sharing formula. This is not a maths class.
You need to go through your posts again. You mentioned 0.05% twice, first as the amount due for system spec and as the bank's share in the other instance. I mentioned 0.1% as what I believe is a fair charge and as the value the total deduction will have to be to get your 0.05%, and yes, this is a maths class, grab a pen mate

How did 1% ÷ 26 give you 0.05...smh

You really need to educate yourself. Refunding a fee is NOT equivalent to admission that there is a scam. Ask a lawyer to educate you on what constitutes an admission of guilt. Only a company that values its name & reputation, would remit such funds immediately without any long stories, because it knows its hands and its operations are clean. Are you aware that CBN asked for a refund, in order to present its defence to the Senate and that it would ultimately offset those fees directly? undecided

If CBN does not refund the company, then who loses?? CBN does not get a platform to process its transactions, the banks do not earn their 0.05% share of the transaction fees, while the company also does not earn its fees. What happens at the end of the day? shocked
You are getting uour maths all wrong, 1% ÷ 2 is 0.5% each and not 0.05%, you only get that if the processing fee was 0.1% of the transaction which is what I believe should be a fair charge considering the large amounts involved. If the sum is shared by 26 entities as you posted elsewhere, the percentage becomes 0.038% per entity....where did your 0.05% come from sir

She was just too fantastic. I am sure half of the senators could not understand or cope with her level of intelligence. I hope she gets the national planning role

This is an attitude we should be careful not to inculcate, we think too little of ourselves. Cameroon is a big side in Africa beating them 3 nil shouldn't be belittled
Cameroon was a big side in african football, that is no longer the case. The fact is that this SE team still needs a lot of work, our defence is still suspect and decision making in the final third of the pitch needs to be improved. Fantastic victory but we are not world beaters yet
SportsRe: Int'l Friendly: Nigeria Vs Cameroon 3.0 (Live) by subnormal: 9:12pm On Oct 11, 2015
Fantastic victory, but lets not get carried away, that Cameroun team was really poor. A top side will easily score 6 or 7 goals against them

Helicopter will do far longer than 40 mins to fly from offshore around Ondo to Lagos.
The usual practice by most of the offshore installations in that environs is to do a 30 mins flight to Osubi airport in Warri/Aero airport or 1 hour flight to NAF Base in Port Harcourt. Bristow does not have an heliport in Ondo State(Onshore).
This case is just a sad one because I know Bristow has about the safest standards amongst other helicopter companies.
Bro, the flight time i quoted was for that particular installation. I know cos I work there. I just lost 4 friends /colleagues and it has nothing to do with the flight time

This is one of the disadvantages of Flying away from your Operational zone, why fly to Lagos when you can have a short fly to Ondo,....why must it be Lagos..... when I was in offshore, PPl do fly 2 hours to Lagos instead of 45 mins to Portharcourt. Most of these Choppers are refurbished, painted and sent down to the Zoo, Thank God for those Journey mercies back then
Bro it takes only 40 mins to get to lagos from their offshore base, I dont know how close it has tobe before you deem it safe.

Helicopter crashing inside the lagoon is not really a high risk, I still dont understand why people died, perhaps they were neither HUET nor BOSIET trained.
Could you guys just back off? I know these guys, the least among them had 10 yrs offshore experience and they are up to date with their BOSIET. Besides, the company they work for would not even let you step foot offshore if you have not been trained or if your cert is expired.

uanda:
Rip to the dead.

Those oil workers must have undergone survival at sea and also helicopter under water excape training (SAS and HUET). The oil company should be held responsible for not giving their workers the minimum required training before sending the offshore.

Also the helicopter company RT brisco will also pay for not checking for the HUET passes of all passengers and also not providing them with life jackets.
I beg to differ sir, medical certificates as well as BOSIET ones which includes the HUET are checked before any trip offshore at the bristow terminal. I will advise you refrain from what you know nothing about. The victims are my colleagues and even now i still pray and hope the news is not true

Rubber products generally have a shelf life of 5 - 10 years from their date of manufacture. The actual time it will fail will depend on a number of factors... Temperature, road condition, working pressure and quality of the rubber and storage.

ocelot2006:
Fashola is truly a joker for trying to pass the buck to the President. The president advance security detail already has MOPOL cops drawn from the Squadron detailed to the Presidency, DSS agents, and soldiers from the Guards Brigade. That's more than enough to protect the President and his entourage. Deploying that large amount of cops just doesn't make sense at all.

Do note that the president has equally visited other, and I've never seen or heard of them deploy such large numbers of cops.
The fact remains that police formations were greatly depleted during GEJ's visit, but i wldnt blame him for the robbery. The CP should have found a way to adequately protect the president while still maintaining at least minimum manning requirements for the different formations in the state. The CP could have asked for help if he needed more personnel for the visit.
Let me state this clearly, the president can visit anywhere in the country at any time he wishes but sucj visits have to be properly planned to prevent a repeat of the lekki incident.
