After much denial i was fed up and just didn't want to apply again, but my brother urged me. I did,and this time i was FURIOUS and determined i will not waste 64k. 2 months before interview i fasted 3 days dry... on day 2,exactly at 3pm,there i was telling myself,...egn,it's not yet time,...i broke the fast...haaa! Was this not the devil playing me? Fast-foward to 4 days to interview. I fasted the dry and i didn't break inbetween....Lol.
Na God...
I prayed and cried my heart out to God. Thus time around i researched very ,very well, knowing the number of credit hours...the schools history..my faculty's board as in you would think i had nithing else to do,but in the long run it paid off... interview day i keft from igando that morning at 4am. got to walter Carrington at 6am. Can you believe i forgot my sevis rciept huh Lwkmd....bu right now i'm glad i did, thiugh i paid a heavy amount to print it...God forgive those people...God was planning,i was stupid...if you prove to be smart then there's no space for God.i went in and out of the embassy 3 times before and after interview.
1. I didn't have sevis.
2. i had a nail-cutter as my key-holdér and they said no sharp objects.
3. To go and withdraw money for reciprocal fees (after approval).

Do you all see how God delayed mehuh but for good??

Now to the main course....

i was sent to the guy that interviewed me last time.. i was already broken when i saw his face.... i had seen my end,but i couldnot see what my God was seeing.

vo:good morning.
me:how are you today?
vo:fine and you?
me:i'm fine sir.
vo:so,why are you going to the USA?
me: To pursue my bachelor's degree in Construction management.
vo: why US?
me: The USA is a country that is well fecognized for it's academic excellence and enhanced learning experienced, also the USA has one of the best educational system in the world offering flexible educational opportunities accross 4000 institutions.
vo:tell me abut your school....
me:...I did,explicitly.
vo: why your school??
me: i chiose this school because their contruction management course is accredited by the American Council For Construction Education, which is a global advocate for construction education. Also,at this school i'd get to learn management skills which will enable me learn how to manage and coordinate policies ,equipment, budget and schedule as well as the safety of general public and employees, also i picked this school because i was given scholarship and their tuition is affordable.
vo:tell me about your school
me: this school is a public four year university, located in... they are part of the xyz state colleges and universities system, they also have over 125 student bodies and they offer 75 majors.Established in...., its is part of the tric-college university system...
vo.... i am going to approve your visa.

can you believe i didn't sign my i20 until i went back home?

[b]i was disarrayed and unprepared mentally ,but God was prepared.[\b]

Here's what was funny,it was as if this bros, didn't want to ask me questions. It was as if he had made up his mind.
He asked me about my brother,i said the same nonsense, but this same guy who denied me for that reason, approved me. Now tell me why won't God be praised. Abeg help me thank God.

For thise applying:
This is a matter that needs utter concentration. No be joke. Treat it like a joke and it'd show you it's funny.
Olease read this few advice...:
1: Pray, pray and pray more...as my pastor says,'you can never overpray you can only under pray'
2. Don't cram o... You will regret it.Understand what you are saying ,because if they ask you question, you'd feel like a faulty car with no breaks.
3. Oractice ,practice and more practice...
4. Don't read testimonies and fail to remember you haven't gotten yours.
5. Be google friendly, the people here have their lives and remember you are not thr only one trying to get yours.
6..... The God that did mine, will do yours,if you have good intentions for going. God bless you and have a wonderful year.

Cc... Walspring, brightify, texrem, lagosismyhome, now i don forget names sef.... but thank you all fam....Your help all the way through was helpful and God will repay you dearly. The fact that you all left your busy lives to help me...i'd be damned not to say thank you. God bless all your hardwork for me and all those you have helped here.

Lets face it, quite a few people here appear to be quite dumb. I have to give thumbs up to the gurus here who seem to have a great deal of patience. In my view, there are some "questions" that should not be answered. For example, someone asking others opinion about a school - what happened to doing a diligent google search about the school's program, ranking (you can find this easily on USNews), alumni etc.? Often times people ask questions about how to fill in ordinary forms, how to answer obvious visa interview questions etc. The whole point of an F1 visa is that you are a bonafide student... the huge number of obvious frauds who appear at the interview is the reason we need to fast and pray just to obtain a visa. Lets call a spade a spade and stop this sickening attitude of making excuses for adults who seem to not have the intelligence required.

I agree we are all expected to be mature here, but maturity goes both ways. We should stop rewarding mediocrity by pretending "we were all there before". There was a time NL did not exist, i wonder how people secured admission to US schools and passed F1 interviews.
I conquer to u, but the point we must understand is that people see this thread has a community were we help each other to achieve a particular goals ( secured F1 visa ) and be informed inorder not to be a candidates of fake dude call agent, how I wish it is possible to identified new members so we can know how to address them...

That's why we always encourage people to read the thread, if he/she had read the thread, he/she would have known. Secondly lagosismyhome said the school has low standard, the person/another person was still asking what are the metrics for measurement of standard of school...I don't believe you have a point. Have a good day.
you are not getting my point what am trying to say is that when the person has such questions u don't have to respond to the question like that, the person might be a guess to this thread u could have just respond positively VIU is a red flag since like 6years now here if I remember correctly, and not You have time sha. because you don't know where such person is coming from and that can caused such individuals not to ask any questions next time. OneLove I dey loyal

You have time sha..People have been saying VIU is a red flag since like 6years now here if I remember correctly, but some people still apply there, Its best to just leave such people to there faith
when someone asked sure questions he or she might not be aware, have sure info or be a fans of this threat, you don't have to condemn or make the individuals look inferior with your respond, afterall everybody was once like that. just respond to the person positively like lagosismyhome. our attitude towards responding to questions matters alot....

Good evening, i am new here and this forum was recommended by my sister and friend. I read through a little and observed that so many pple have gotten admission and even gotten their visas approved, i know i am late but i hope i am not too late.
I want to apply for Msc in Criminology or criminal justice and i know its late for fall so i intend applying for spring 2018. I want to ask, is it possible for me to get graduate assistantship without taking GRE ?
No shortcut to success, its advisable for you to take GRE test because its will haste so many opportunities...

Go to the nearest post office around you and ask them the location to collect item sent from USA by USPS if you are lucky then it might be the post office around your area or nearby

When you get there tender your tracking and sender name as evidence but those people there can bill you for Mtn or airtel or etisalat or glo card ooo gringringrin
he has done that, they told him to be patient that they will call him when the letter got to their centre

Since your item can't fetch them above 5k why would they call you from post office they know those they usually call because they will benefit from them at the end of the day.

Abeg quickly go there and on the track do you get the location in Nigeria where the item is maybe Agege/Ikeja Lagos Nigeria or Central Are Abuja and so on because that where it was delivered to for you to pick it up
the location is not specified but I think every latter coming from USA will arrived at Nipost marina branch before its been disseminated to different destination.

Slept in the office for my 7am appointment because its closer to the consulate. Got there in the rain by 5:30 or so. After all the checks, queued up and the VOs came to their desks. I wanted one other slim vo because he seemed cool and patient lol, but I was asked to meet the Chinese guy - I think he should be about 32. I wouldn't say he's strict, as the interview wasn't as scary as I feared. You just need to give him or any of them good responses..

VO: good morning
me: good morning
vo: passport, i20? so why are you going to St Cloud?
me: I'm going to st cloud state university to study for an MS degree in Applied Clinical Research.
vo: how many schools did you apply to?
me: I applied to 4 schools; the university of Rhode Island, Virginia Commonwealth university, the university of Texas medical branch and St cloud state university.
vo: why st cloud?
me: I chose to attend st cloud because the clinical research program focuses on medical device research which basically aligns with my interests and I will ( vo cuts in)
vo: did you take any tests?
me: I took the GRE and TOEFL.
vo: how was your score on the GRE?
me: it was fair enough, I got 149, 149, 3.5
vo: ooh that's impressive( inside my mind I was like that one na score, you need to come GRE thread for nairaland make you see what brothers and sisters are doing to the GRE, but I was happy to hear him exclaim that way though)
vo: you do correlation and validation studies where you work( he read it off my ds160)
what's it about?
me: I told him we do it on new medical equipments and diagnostic procedures to ensure optimal standards.
vo: what's the difference between correlation and clausation?
me; I told him I wasn't sure what the difference is ( I had not heard that word in the context he was asking so I chose to be honest instead of explaining rubbish)
vo: what will this degree do for you?
me: this program will equip me with the requisite skills to be able to perform proper and ethical biomedical research upon my return to Nigeria.
vo: what's your research topic?
me: I'll be working on biosystems neuromodulation(the guy is super fast with asking questions and typing)
vo: do you have any scholarship ( looks at i20 for less than a second)?
me: no, I do not.
vo: OK, enjoy your time at st cloud.
me: thank you.
Passed i20 back with white form and said to pick up passport in three days.
Thanks to God and everyone on here for all your help. Walspring, Mekurexx, for assisting to pay fees from WES evaluation through application circle, I remain grateful. And to a kind heart Kene for adding his money to complete my sevis and pay in less than 48 hours to my interview- after my bossom friend( not from nairaland) squandered the first money I sent to him for sevis, may God bless you.
