Edenoscar2: he should have gone for short service with his cerificate, as long as he gets a minimum second lower. This is just an 8-9 month training Short service officers usually experience discrimination and most aren't allowed in the service beyond rank of colonel (given limited years in service) and can't head most military formations. With NDA, he has got 35 years in service; he can rise to Brig and major general; This is the hope of every military officer and that gives him lots of connections in Nigeria beyond military. |

OriOko88: Why is he not d chief imam, why among the three. D guy is still right I wrote, "Chief Imams": meaning all the three are chief Imams, all the three Imams have equal responsibilities and prayers including Friday prayers are led by them turn by turn! This is not a situation peculiar to Nigeria alone, even in Saudi Arabia --Makka they don't have single imam, but many...who lead prayers turn by turn. A reminder, this thread is about Germans discriminating against a Nigerian priest --Priest Patrick Asomugha-- so let's stick to its purpose and not digress. |

tbaba1234: Death rate is much higher than that.
Global death rate is 6.2%. In Lagos, death rate is 3.2% at the moment
Even if asymptomatic are added, it does not drop down to 0.3%.
The death rate for CoronaVirus is at least 10 times larger than Flu and Malaria. death rate varies alot. A research conducted in Germany in an area completely affected arrived at 0.37%. Quite understood that in Italy, the USA and the UK, the death rate is higher, but that's due to overwhelmness of their health facilities. Even WHO suggest 3.4% and Dr Anthony Fauci, put it at 1%. https://www.theblaze.com/news/german-study-shows-coronavirus-mortality-rate-five-times-lower-than-widely-reported-numbers |

tjfulloption: If definitely the 63 years old man died of corona virus without any history of travel or contact, then the person who gave it to him must have died of the virus now before him, think.... Not necessary! 90% of people who contracted coronavirus do recover from it without any medication and its death rate is btw 0.37 to 1%. So, maybe the person who might have transmitted it to him never knew that he/she was having Covid-19. |

grandstar: Is this right or wrong? I can't yet say but my instinct says it's wrong. The Japanese government should not give handouts for companies to leave China.
China would appreciate any country that stands with it in this time of calamity. Japan seems to have blatantly done the opposite as though taking the gloves off when there was no need to wear them in the first place.
Yes, China's land grabs has soured relations with Japan but that's another issue altogether. The true belligerent is China's head of state who has a conservative no nensense alienate-your-neighbours attitude to things.
I suspect once he's gone, China will return to its peaceful-rise policy which the present head has thrown out through the window. It's dangerous for the world for China to be the only major manufacturer. People are trying to spread their manufacturing across different countries, so that when there is problem in one country, the supply chain will continue without much disruption. Just imagine, someone losing 10 billion dollars within two new months! |

Health › Condom Shortage Looms As Coronavirus Pandemic Persists by Sufisunni(op): 2:20am On Apr 09, 2020 |
Even as factory shutdowns and border closures throw the condom industry into chaos, demand appears to be increasing. A global condom shortage is looming as the coronavirus pandemic shutters factories and disrupts supply chains, the world’s top maker of the contraceptives said, with the United Nations warning of “devastating” consequences. Over half of humanity has been confined to their homes as the highly contagious virus marches round the planet, while governments worldwide have ordered the closure of businesses deemed non-essential. Malaysia — one of the world’s top rubber producers and a major source of condoms — imposed a nationwide lockdown last month as infections surged to the highest level in Southeast Asia. But restrictions on the operations of Malaysian contraceptive giant Karex, which makes one in every five condoms globally, mean the firm expects to produce 200 million fewer condoms than usual from mid-March to mid-April.
