Just know that tribalism is unhealthy and backward, I have philosophized about it, it is indeed unhealthy, I just do it here for the rush but in society its a no no.

That's true..you are correct!

Education / Re: Six Reasons Why You Must Conceal Your Intentions by sunnshyn(f): 4:01pm On Dec 08, 2014
Very true OP..

Just like Yomieluv said, if I tell my intentions to ANYONE I realize they do not materialize. And truth is, it can be a bit difficult keeping some intentions, as sometimes you need guidance on the way to go...

So, its a very dicey issue..

What I do? I just come on the internet, and randomly ask google. Chances are someone somewhere have asked such questions and needs advice...or come to the best place. Nairaland. We never know how really valuable this forum is...there's hardly no type of question that hasn't be properly discussed on Nairaland, and the beautiful thing is: you get different people's ideas and opinions for free which I call reviews.. From career, to marriage, to building ur own house cheaply, to buying cars, to education, even xes related matters....everything!!!

Thanks Op for sharing...

And to think he got all this money just to be buying electronics and clothes from Next, and the wife prolly shouting down on everyone, flaunting fake weaves and walking with her shoulders and feet in the air....smh!

The love of money is truly the root of evil...that £100k this Adewale cannot account for it hence he chose to go to jail...smh!

Come see them here in SA, useless people giving us hard working people bad names world over...

There was a raid by policemen in the complex where I once stayed, the security tipped off policemen, all Nigerians in that complex were searched, small me inclusive, they said I could be an accomplice hehehehe, didn't knw we had so many Nigerians there. You people won't believe it

Of all the 81 flats in the complex, Nigerians occupied 15 and ALL of them were either dealing on drugs or yahoo yahooing and pimping South African chics...Igbo boys o, Edo o, Yoruba o, was I pained and embarrassed? Not ONE had a decent job at all but drove the "bestest" cars in that complex with very loud music...kai!

Crime has come to stay within us, I'm not sure T.B Joshua or Dr Olukoya's kind of deliverance can set us free...where will they start from?

Anyone heard of this home jobs web search evaluator by appen.com? Or crowdsourcing by appen.com? I read reviews and it wasn't really comforting..

Even I received an email personally from this company( I think I must have applied sometimes in the year as I am always looking for home jobs in SA so I can make extra money during holidays heheheh)...forwarded the website to my aunt too...

Anyone done any kind of job with appen, lionbridge or leapforce??

Family / Re: Will You Allow Your Child To Be Beaten Uncladded In School by sunnshyn(f): 6:43pm On Dec 04, 2014
bugativeron:
I worked as a father outside Lagos while my family stas permanently in Lagos. Some days back my wife called that she got a report from school that my 6yr old son tore 11 pages from his school note books.
I was really miffed. This is the 2nd time this will happen, the other time it was a classmate book that he tore with a friend.
This the mum beat him over, but for me this is 2nd time too many. So I got a message that the school proprietor will like to see me or my wife and that we will pay 3, 000 for 3 small note books that was torn. That got me mad because it doesnt make sence. So I told my wife we are going to see her but I aint paying no 3k, however I expect the school to beat him which is what I will advice.
Well we met with her (me & wify) she said the 3k is fine for the books so that parents will learn to discipline their children, I was like what nonsence I dont need you to tell me to discipline my children but I agree that he should be beaten in school to serve as deterrence.
So I gave permit for him to be beaten on assembly ground, but unfortunately I didnt bargain for the impact of this on my 8yr old daughter. My son was brought out on the assembly ground, his school short removed and given 11strokes of cane on the buttocks with frog jump to climax it. This happened in the afternoon so other parents started calling my wife to report and wondered why such. But wify told them that we gave the permit.
Now to my daughter she is an easy going 8yr old who has been in that school for 5yrs without any incident but my son has gotten into trouble some couple of times. She started weeping and left the assembly ground for her class and will not talk to either me or their mum wondering why we gave such cruel permit.
But my boy the moment he came back from school saw me and was beaming with smile. I felt like a fool for he bore me no grudge was even urging me to help with his assignment since I just came into lagos not minding that I gave permit for him to be beaten in school.
My daughter asked me condescendingly why I gave such a cruel permit and wonder why I coudnt do it my self. Wify felt bad, may be given the opportunity again what will I do? Well I will still do it but would ask that it be done in his classroom. So nairaland parents over to you. What will you do?

You gave another person the right to administer corporal punishment on your child?!? For what purpose? To serve as a deterrence u said..and u'll still do it again? Hahahah!! But this time in his classroom? Thank God you are not my husband...

Do you even know that even children have rights too as humans? Inflicting physical pains on a child serves no good purpose sir.

Did u see he ran to u and asked to be helped after the humiliation? Children will be children...there are several discipline techniques out there. Like detention (making him sit for a while on his own so he/she can think about what he/she did and apologize afterward promising never to repeat his actions), taking away privileges and all...

You'll only end up raising a hard-hearted child if you continue in this manner...IMO..

She's married with a child and stays with her hubby in South East London, according to what I found out rent isn't a problem. Please don't ask me how, 'cos I honestly do not know. What's needed is a job.

Thank you for response.

I see you've been in the UK for a while considering the fact that you worked for the said blue arrow more than 6 years ago. Is there anyway you can help my aunt get a decent job at least?

Dear UK residents,

Peace of the lord be with you all, amen!

I'm in dire need. I have an aunt who stays in South East London and needs a job urgently. She's married with a son and things are quite rough for the family, really rough for them.

I'm doing this 'cos I do not think she or anyone with her academic/professional standard deserves this, however, what must be done must be done...I heard that it's tough for people without permanent residency to get jobs, but I'm a firm believer that there are UK business owners and employers here on nairaland.

Please good-hearted people of nairaland, I ask on her behalf, if anyone can assist with any form of employment, especially one suitable for a stay-at-home mom.. please do not hesitate to contact me here..

Blessings,
