Truly, I must confess that the breed of mothers we have nowadays are a rare breed indeed. In those days, a child dare not fall from anywhere else the husband sends her packing. It used to be a mark of incompetence. However, what I find more appalling is the fact that she doesn't know to seek medical assistance IMMEDIATELY. Sad.

For someone with your competence...here's you asking questions too.

How Do I Deal With This? by coldgate(f): 6:36pm

House,
Pls. assist me. My son is 2 and a half years old. For
two weeks now, whenever he is angry
which is almost every hour, he turns on himself and
bites his left wrist. The bite marks are clearly visible.
His wrist has turned black, and I am getting scared
that one day the bite would become an injury? what
do I do? What kind of doctor does he need? Every
little altercation with his sister, or even asking for
something and he doesn't get it, makes him mad."

You had to wait 2 WHOLE WEEKS! Like you also didn't know that you had to go seek medical help immediately for that child before he starts eating all of you alive, but you chose to first run to Nairaland....Hypocrite! That's who you are!

Some people ehn! May God have mercy on us all, amen!

This lady(wife) wasn't ready to be married. Period!!

Thing is - even if she meets another guy, she'll do same. Until, she's psychologically ready to settle-down and be a married woman.

But till then - she's still" man-shopping" and enjoying her life so to say.

I wish your friend great luck.

All of you calling OP careless are insensitive...

I don't have a child just yet, soon sha, but I'v been privileged to help nurse a friend's new born...that experience still remains with me..

If any of you have truly nursed a new baby, you'll know its no child's play especially with no help...maybe OP just got the opportunity and doozed off for a few minutes, (body no be wood na) and this happened....

Like other sensible and sensitive people have advised OP, please check baby with a doctor just to be certain all is well.

Jisike nwanne madu! God is your strength o.

Otherwise, you are just casting aspersions and insulting the participants of the competition. Do you think anything posted so far is too difficult for a university student or graduate to write? If so, Nigeria is in worse shape than I thought.

Insulting? Really? Hmmm ok. I do not think that anything that has been posted so far "is too difficult for a varsity student or graduate". But given the time frame, then it is possible some of these essays were lifted... And really, I haven't insulted anyone.

Let's not derail, I have really enjoyed reading most of the essays so far. Keep the good work going...

Some of the essays were pulled off from written/published works, which to me, defeats the purpose of writing the essays from the top of one's head.

These essays I thought, were meant to be written off the rigorous thinking of the participants' heads. It makes no sense since anyone can pull off works from the internet without engaging his or her brain. Those that wrote from their brain without the 'refrencing' or pulling off of infos from the net, are the deserving winners. Anyway, I'm not the judges, so I have no say.

Let's be truthful...those who have written and published journals knows writing articles isn't a 2 weeks thing. It takes extensive research and in-depth thinking, analysis and sweat.

Don't mind me going off about references here just 'cos I know most of these works here were lifted. And I don't blame them - "when the going gets tough, the tough gets going" (go figure, lol), so it's almost expected that contestants will just go looking for 'ready-made' work. And again, this is just a casual essay like MissMeiya said...

But if I find my article here without credit, I'll be suing the organiser-Babyosisi...no time!! ---*tongue-in-cheek.

Limiting the total words was too much of a restriction. I for one had to shorten and reshorten my phrases to make the whole work fit just under 700 words. References alone can account for over 300 words in a comprehensive essay or article so u see the limitation? Had to exclude references for the above reason and since I made no direct quotes. Its available on request tho.

It doesn't matter bro...whenever you write and cite other people's work, you should ALWAYS reference it..ALWAYS!! It's non-negotiable in the academic world.

I'm just saying for future purposes...

Too many people wanting the rules to change or be bent for them.....not cool.

It's simple - If I were applying for a scholarship and say Hilary clinton was sponsoring, will I start asking that rules be bent to accommodate my excuses? No ways!!

Judges and organisers should have from the beginning deliberated and foreseen some of these issues contestants are bringing forward now and at the same time stood by their rules without faltering and what have you...

Rules shouldn't be changed or adjusted as soon as the contest started.

If prospective contestants do not meet a certain criteria, tough luck. Try again next time abeg and stop dragging everyone backwards...

Nice essays in all....despite the short notice..

I was expecting to see references in-text and at the bottom of the essay....using someone else's words or ideas and twisting them as your own without proper referencing is a punishable offence...

Looking forward to more essays...

Well done everyone, and good luck to the contestants..

Please no hard feelings but your analyses are a bit moronic. Are you saying a presidient that says stealing is not corruption is actually fighting corruption? Or that Buhari's zeal to curb corruption creates a blind spot for him because he has not been in the shoes before??

You guys are giving that guy more attention than he deserves...someone that sees light but chooses to walk in darkness because he was given a stick of lit candle to find his way around does not sound to me like someone who truly has brains..
