Politics / The 62nd Independence Anniversary by Sunnyflex(m): 8:23pm On Oct 01, 2022 |
Oh we are not matured enough to use Diaspora votes but we are called "Giant of Africa"! However, small country like kenya is matured enough to it, even used it in her just concluded election. Now, you see how corruption has exposed our dirty linen to the world. To some logical minds, it's a calculated political permutation, to give certain region some edge against others, therefore, Diaspora votes should not be allowed. You see this country, it needs to be re-colonized because it's like we have learned nothing in the post colonial era. Today marks our 62nd independence anniversary of the post colonial era. It's a time of reflecting and accounting for the political, aesthetic, economic, historical and social impacts of our collective lives as Nigerians, after the reigned of the British colonial rules that stretched from the 18th century through to 20th century. It's a time when we must give ourselves honest assessment on how we have adequately and judiciously harnessed our resources in all sectors of the economy, comparatively to other countries who perhaps were not meeting up in the 60s, 70s, 80s and 90s. In vice versa, it's a time when we as Nigerians and our leaders in affairs of governance, will also pause and perhaps, ask some critical and germane questions: 1.How come the Chinese economy that was not meeting up in the 80s has far superseded ours in all angle of macroeconomics so much that we now borrow money from them? 2.How come that we left our agricultural generating revenues in a parlous state so much that Malaysia who took our psalm seedlings in the 60s, has carve an inche for itself so much that palm oil production in Malaysia has become the vital source of revenue to the Malaysian economy which made her to become the second largest palm oil producer after Indonesia? 3.How come that Nigeria inherited poverty capital from India in this very administration and has remained glued to that status quo till date, marks the 62nd independence anniversary? And lot more pertinent questions that directly and indirectly affect our existence as humans living in the geographical entity of Nigeria. Nigeria@her 62nd independence anniversary is like a 62 year old man that has been endowed with so much resources to build wealth only for him to be so wasteful with the abundance of such resources given to him, like the biblical prodigal son. It's time to Pause, Reflect and Account for our independence era and anniversaries so far! #Nigeria62ndIndependence #october1st

Politics / Obicracy A New Form Of Government by Sunnyflex(m): 2:42pm On Sep 25, 2022 |
It should be launched into the encyclopedia Wikipedia in the 21th century version for Students to get acquainted with the latest terminology of the new government system--OBICRACY. Afterall, a system of government like Plutocracy, Aristocracy, Democracy, Dictatorship, Monarchy, Theocracy, Gerontocracy, Oligarchy, Anocracy, and many others, are all existing and also in the Wikipedia. 2023 election is a battle between OBICRATIC and GERONTOCRATIC form of government. The former is competent and it's fully backed by the masses as its structure, particularly the youths. Whereas, the latter is incompetent and is backed by councils of corrupt elders known as the ruling class as its structure. Beautiful coinage and usage abi?

Politics / Key Points To Know About The Water Resource Bill by Sunnyflex(m): 5:00pm On Aug 18, 2022 |
The water resource bill which was first introduced in 2018 but was rejected by the 8th assembly, has faced a barrage of criticism following its reintroduction in the 9th assembly. The water resource bill seeks to bring all water resources (surface and underground) and the banks of the water sources under the control of the Federal Government. Critics of the bill say if the bill is passed into law it may endanger national unity of the country. Nigerian playwright Wole Soyinka has also condemned the bill saying that the bill would give the president “absolute control over the nation’s entire water resources, both over and underground”. espite the widespread controversies, the bill has passed its second reading in the House of Representatives. Here are some key points about the national resource bill discrepancies The bill proposed that water usage be subjected to licensing provisions and that the licence may be cancelled if the licensee “fails to make beneficial use of the water.” The bill states that all landlords must obtain a driller permit before sinking a borehole in their homes. It directs persons who have excess supply of water to cater for their domestic needs to reduce the quantity to what they can consume. Only authorised personnel may carry out routine checks to inspect water usage or water disposal on properties with the production of their identity card or other instrument or certificate of designation if so required. Only those permitted under the Act are permitted to consume water. However, the proposed bill is a national issue, but that of the gold deposits in Zamfara are meant for the people of Zamfara state and top northern elites. Una weldone.

Politics / The Gold Deposits In Zamfara State by Sunnyflex(m): 4:52pm On Aug 18, 2022 |
Zamfara state is said to have large deposits of gold. A report once allegedly said the gold deposits belongs to Zamfara and meant only for the people of Zamfara, but the oil from Niger Delta belongs to Nigeria including Zamfara state, right? When we talk about injustice, we x-ray it, putting sentiments apart for the benefits of the economy. Do you know the staggering revenue the gold deposits would be generating annually to the economy if fully harnessed and sold to the international market and its positive effects to the GDP? Come on Nigerians! This is a germane economic issues, not a trivial one!!!Why borrowing externally, when will have a Revenue Generating SUBSTITUTE like Gold in Zamfara state, since the oil has been the figurative "Mother Cow" other states have been milking from, for more than four decades and now, the "Mother Cow" is no longer producing and generating revenue like before in the international market. Amaechi, Oshiomole, Keyamo, Asari Dokunbo and many other South South political elites would never see anything wrong in this blatant injustice meted out on a broad day robbery like this.Only Wike and very few stakeholders from SS can question this blatant injustice meted to Nigeria, in a broad daylight. The key northern political elites are the sole beneficiaries of the revenue accrued in that gold mine. If we want a New Nigeria, all the Revenue Generating Resources in Nigeria must be harnessed fully and allocated without injustice, for economic growth and development. The gold deposits remain the preserved of the Nigerian economy in the same way the "Mother Cow" Oil is, to the Nigerian economy. No more, no less.

Politics / The Personified Anger Of The Naira Currency by Sunnyflex(m): 6:42am On Aug 15, 2022 |
Today, currency like N5, N10 and N20 has completely gone into extinction as regards its purchasing power. You cannot buy even children candy and common biscuits with such amount any more! N50 is the only surviving currency in that parenthesis(bracket) slightly higher in the purchasing power, though wobbling but still gives some glimmer of hope for the lovers of candy and biscuits in the meantime. However, in the next couple of years to come, N50 will eventually fizzle out for N100 for the same candy and biscuits and the cycle of Naira depreciation continues. You don't spend dollars in an economy that depends solely on external sources for its livelihood, via, recurrent expenditures without equating it with productive means. Doing that is tantamount to weakening your home grown currency as seen in the Nigerian currency, Naira today, venting its frustrations and anger for the bad state of the economy! Ok, even our so called mono economy (crude oil) is nothing to write home about today; as external debts from China, IMF...have exceeded the revenue accrued from oil revenue. What a mess to the economy; masterminded by selfish and greedy leadership in governance! Like the biblical Paul said to the Galatians! "Oh foolish, heartless and selfish public office holders in affairs of nation building, who has bewitched you"...(Gal3:1) that you are now singing the biblical Lord's songs "in a strange land"...(Psalm137:4) When the self aggrandized Politicians are sick and also want the best education for their children, they take our oil money oversea for medical and sound educational attentions. However, the same oil revenue money cannot be given proper attention with such infrastructural development at home like the ones the selfish politicians enjoy in the developed countries of the world. Can you tell me any of the US governors or officials whose child is schooling in any of the Nigerian universities? But our foolish and selfish politicians love to sing that biblical song "in the strange land" so that their children would feel they have arrived, psychologically and socially. Obi is the only passionate politician that will bring succour to the already dilapidated economy, via, productive means by giving the Naira its necessary strength to regain its confidence in the international currencies. Enough of all these political jamborees that the Nation keep recycling every 8yrs. What I termed "the old cargoes political shenanigans" who see the seat of ASO ROCK as a retired benefits including the "shaky shaky daddy" of that glorious era of anti Malaria Advert in the late 90s. Do you still remember that Anti Malaria Advert in the 90s, where a little child seated close to his Dad, and suddenly screamed to call for the attention of her MUM: "screaming Mum, Daddy is shaking"!!! I still remember that advert even as a smart teenage boy with a prehensile memory. That Advert is typically exemplifying our "Emi lo kan" of our "shaky shaky Daddy", who wants to contest for the office of the president. A man that should be resting with his grandchildren wants to rule almost 200M Nigerians! Obi is the only passionate politician who has millions of Nigerians at heart and over the time, Altruistically, examines the problem of our comatose economy and is willing to proffer a classical solutions to the economy. A vote for Obi is a win for Nigeria as a geographical entity to place our economy where it should belong; and also a win for Nigerians as a people who, over the years have endured bad governance. Lastly, Obi's victory will also be a win for the Naira currency who has over the past 7 years figuratively, vented its anger and frustrations on its market value, will now be strengthened and regains its position in the international currencies, via, productive means and Diversification of our economy. Thank you. ALOYSIUS SUNNY CHIBUIKE Economic Analyst. |

Nairaland / General / Magu And Effc by Sunnyflex(m): 6:21am On Jul 08, 2020 |
MAGU & EFCC We seem to be rigmaroling round the circle in this country. A country of such shortcomings or besets will never attend any macroeconomic goals set before her. A delicate Job like EFCC should not be found wanted because its core objective is to fight economic crimes geared by money laundering holistically, to the barest minimum; which has rather hindered our national development and consigned us to the status of the "Third world country" and "Poverty capital of the world" caused mainly by bad governance, found among the public office holders, bereft of accountability and transparency. It was in this light, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission(EFCC) was established in 2003. The EFFC is empowered to prevent, investigate, prosecute and penalise economic and financial crimes and is charged with the responsibility of enforcing the provisions of other laws and regulations relating to economic and financial crimes, including: Economic and Financial Crimes commision Establishment act (2004) The Money Laundering Act 1995 The Money Laundering (Prohibition) act 2004 The Advance Fee Fraud and Other Fraud Related Offences Act 1995 The Failed Banks (Recovery of Debts) and Financial Malpractices in Banks Act 1994 The Banks and other Financial Institutions Act 1991; and Miscellaneous Offences Act. If it happens that the EFCC boss, Ibrahim Magu, is involved in economic crimes of any magnitude, he has simply passed a proverbial message to millions of Nigerians that, "it's big name ascribed to a small dog, that kills the dog before its time" The big name here, implies, the position or office of the EFFC, and the small dog here implies, the public office holder of such office. I really don't want to believe Ibrahim Magu is involved in any economic related crime offences, if not, it would have spelt a doom for him and also in fulfillment of that prophesy sang by a popular Nigerian Artist, 2face: "One day bush meat go catch the hunter". Politics / Wike Is Biting More Than He Can Chew by Sunnyflex(m): 8:46am On May 11, 2020 |
Power intoxicate too much. What Wike's did was absolutely out of place. Wike have done obnoxious act that may dent his reputation and undermine his great work, from hero to zero for such callous and dastardly act meted on a legitimate property owner, via, demolition. I think he has gone beyond the constitution and he's not above the constitution in a typical Democratic setting. The United State of American which is the custodian of Democracy wouldn't do that and have never done that because of a certain restriction or impromptu rules of a certain pandemic, which therefore, cannot supersede a constitution of a country What Wike's did was a show of power, and he's accountable to FG despite claims, he's running a so-called autonomous economy or rather he does not collect Federal Allocation to run Rivers state economy. Sincerely speaking, Wike has gone from sublime to ridiculous for such belligerent act of show of power. However, lets wait and see the court decision on this. Thank u. |

Nairaland / General / The New Cbn Cashless Strategy by Sunnyflex(m): 9:55pm On Sep 19, 2019 |
The new CBN strategy does not conform with the Less developed countries, like ours. The cashless policy is good and has been working for developed countries of the world... However, more people especially those without bank account mostly the small & Medium scale businesses found nationwide, will be forced to open account like: #individual_account(savings) and #corporate_account. In this case, the #demand for #Android_phones used for internet transfer and the use of #POS for business will also increase, thereby automatically reducing #Liquid_cash flow, in circulation.. Also the demand for business registration, via, #CAC, will also increase..Reason for that is that, a cash deposit of 3M is required for corporate account, unlike 500k for individual accounts. In this case, Business folks, would definitely consider the corporate account... In our just concluded conference, Nigerian Economic Society, NES, I heard the CBN governor, clearly emphasizing that, the banking industry must be "thinking outside the box".What he, Godwin Emefiele called the #unconventional_approach. From my own perspective or rather, intuition, I think that is the new cashless policy that has been adopted... The Question now is, is the cashless policy adopted to curb arm robbery attacks by the reduction of #liquid_cash in circulation or help checkmate inflation? Even if it does, 3% charges is very much.. The strategy is good, but there are certain parameters the CBN would have considered; the #chain_distribution of goods and services in a long run. Those involved in a chain of distribution will find a loophole to hike the prices of goods and services, blaming the increase to the new cashless policy. The final consumers will have no choice than to bear the burden of the price increased. I think in this scenario, the minimum wage, which has been approved by law, should be implemented come 2020, since the CBN cashless policy will kick start fully come March 2020. That is my own honest assessment of the New Cashless Policy.

Politics / The Economic Danger Of S/africa Vs Nigeria by Sunnyflex(m): 10:09pm On Sep 03, 2019 |
As an Economic Analyst I grossly condemn the Xenophobic act, being meted out against *Nigeria* in South Africa. It will not only result into hate speech but a *full blown political instability* which will, in turn affect *both countries Foreign Direct Investment(FDI)*.Nobody would like to invest in a country infested or characterized with political instability, *talk more of engaging in a bilateral trade agreement.* For years South Africa and Nigeria have enjoyed healthy socioeconomic growth.Infact, *Nigeria played a major role, as the appellate, "the Giant of Africa"* in fostering Peace and Unity in that region when *Apartheid regime* was the order of the day in South Africa, during the *Era of Nelson Mandela of Blessed memory*. Alas South Africans have forgotten the great role of Peace and Tranquility its enjoyed as a result of the immense effort by the Nigerian government!!!♂♂♂ *How come, that the racist abuse the south Africans suffered among themselves is ironically proportional to Nigerians?* Xenophobic act, as the name implies is grossly condemned!! This is a great cause for concerned as *reprisal or revenge is now the case, here in Nigeria*.Information reaching me, from *Shoprite, Lekki,* has it that, Shoprite has been thrown into full mayhem, chaos!!! *Is that not a sudden or unexpected unemployment*, some Nigerians working in *Shoprite* want to subject themselves? *What about other Direct Investment of South Africa, here in Nigeria like Dstv, and Mtn notably?* Won't that result into mass unemployment here in Nigeria, should the *Foreign Direct Investors,* choose to call it a day here in Nigeria and vice-versa? This is a grave questions that needed serious economic address! The government of both countries should seat and dialogue the economic implications ahead..... An apple a day keeps the doctor at bay" is an old Welsh_proverb that most of us are familiar with, but what makes this fruit, called #Apple so special? What health benefits are associated with eating apples? 1. #Prevention_of_dementia_diseases #A_study published in the #Journal_of_Food Science in 2008 suggested that eating apples may have benefit for your neurological health. The researchers found that including apples in your daily diet may protect neuron cells against oxidative stress-induced neurotoxicity and may play an important role in reducing the risk of neurodegenerative disorders such as Alzheimer's disease. 2. #Reducing_a_risk_of_stroke: A study involving 9,208 men and women showed that those who ate the most apples over a long period, had the lowest risk of stroke. The researchers concluded that the intake of apples is related to a decreased risk of thrombotic stroke. 3.#Lowering_levels_of_bad_cholesterol: A group of researchers at The Florida State University stated that apples are a "miracle fruit".They found that older women who ate apples everyday had 23% less bad cholesterol (LDL) and 4% more good cholesterol (HDL) after just six months. 4.#Reducing_the_risk_of_diabetes Apples could also help lower your risk of diabetes. A study involving 187,382 people found that people who ate three servings per week of apples, grapes, raisins, blueberries or pears had a 7% lower risk of developing type 2 diabetes compared to those who did not.Granny smith apples are highly recommended. 5.#Warding_off_breast_cancer There is growing evidence suggesting that an apple a day may help prevent breast cancer, according to a series of studies conducted by prominent #Cornell_researcher Rui Hai Liu. Liu said her research adds to "the growing evidence that increased consumption of fruits and vegetables, including apples, would provide consumers with more phenolics, which are proving to have important health benefits. I would encourage consumers to eat more and a wide variety of fruits and vegetables daily. For more info, click on the link below: https://www./2435370746744259/

Events / My Greatest Ordeal In Life by Sunnyflex(m): 11:51pm On Jul 03, 2019 |
I experience the worst day of my life in shoprite this night, just few hours ago. An ordeal I will never forget in a hurry! I was pressed and decided to obey the call of nature, by making used of one of there restrooms. I went inside the restroom, unknown to me there was no tissue inside. I never imagine such! Chai!!! I realised lately when I have finished using it, only for me to apply the tissue on my bum bum, it dawned on me, there was no tissue paper. behold I was shocked to my marrow. Was left stranded, almost 40mins, waiting for whom to beckon on. There restroom is made in such a way that, there is no running tap attached to it. Eventually I saw a man who just finished with his, beckoned on him & explained to him. He quickly gave me the remnant of one of the tissue paper remaining in one of the restrooms. This is purely a dereliction of duty from the cleaning dept. A very big shame to the image of Shoprite; a reputable and famous mall, not only in Nigeria, but Africa at large. I wish I saw their manager, I would have given him the piece of my mind vehemently! Such oversight should not be happening in a reputable mall like Shoprite |
