FoodRe: Nigeria Spent N660bn On Imported Chicken In 2014 by sunsewa: 10:46pm On Jun 24, 2015
Stolen:
We spent even more on imported furnitures and textiles, did that stop Buhari from removing ban yesterday?

The truth is competition is good for this country and makes lower prices.

This policy is about maintaining the status quo and enriching Dangote, Buhari did not consider local industry wen he lifted the ban on Furniture and Textile just yesterday but here he is placing ban on the commodities of the common man, so Dangote can fix the price and enrich himself without us having any cheaper alternative.

Nigeria is doomed with this kind of economy management.
yeah ur right,Nigerian needs competition for things to be better, even with poultry farms increasing rampantly in Nigeria, to buy a life chicken is still expensive to the masses, while even the fresh egg that is been technologically produced daily is still,#750 per crate no reductions in price, for long.

The writer above me is an hediot, who thinks that life is all about eating without knowing that a single policy change from that House can change his bank account. Igbos no longer think that way. e.g a simple law from that house banning the importation of stockfish or secondhand spareparts will put a lot of families in the SE in problem just to educate you. ''Ha si kanyi hasaa, anyi ahasaa''

It was Tinubus APC (ACN part) plan ab initio to exclude the South East from all positions at the National Assembly until God intervened and created confusion in their midst on the day of the elections which led to the emergence of Ekweremadu as Deputy SP whom they are asking to resign (e no go happen); now they have started again without considering the South East Zone for any leadership position at the House while giving the South South the least position in the hierarchy, it will not work. All positions must be zoned in line with Federal Character.
Does it mean that the two APC rep from IMO state, is no more APC members that made the party leaders to marginalise them in sharing of zonal allocated position in the house, infact i smell foul play, okorocha should rise and intervene, ball in is court.

One thing i've learnt from Nigerian politics is never to rule anything out, in 2019 the 'Sophisticated' brothers might clamour for him as the one true saviour the country needs........they'll tell you how much of a great nationalist he is and how he only has 5 cows and has only 10k in his account and thus he is over qualified for the presidency.
God willing, we are waiting for him to declare interest in presidency 2019,my strongest belief is that he won't be APC flag bearer,he can never, with tinubu, atiku and co,still there, then PDP,trust fayose, wike, enweremadu,he will not make it there,it is reserved for his brother shekarau and lamido, and peter obi,so the best for him is labour party, and only almajaris in kano will vote for him,he is a mentally deranged bigot.
Christianity EtcRe: I Had This Very Fearful Dream! by sunsewa: 1:41pm On Jun 21, 2015
yommyphresh:
Hello people. I had this dream that got me really terrified when I woke up...

*************************************************************************************************************************

I was in a room upstairs in a house (more like a hotel). From there, I could catch the view of almost everywhere. I looked down from d balcony and I saw 2 of my roomates back in school and also 2 of my female friends back in school. From what I saw, it looked like they were having an affair. (one of the girls is married in real life)

They went inside. So I picked up my phone, called the married one and jokingly said "I can see you ooo" She asked "where?" And she laughed too.

All of a sudden, I started hearing deafening noises like bombings. I looked afar off, there was a big place like a refinery, a bomb went off there again. Before I knew it, everywhere started getting dark. I mean real dark! Buildings looked like they were dissapearing.

Amidst the confusion, I saw something like a group of so many castles descending from heaven (those guys from downstairs too were already upstairs). When I saw the building, I just started pointing to it and shouting "Rapture! Rapture!"

We were all looking in that direction but they didn't see the castles that were descending. They were saying there was no castle descending from anywhere and they said the darkness was as a result of d bombings that happened at d building i said looked like a refinery.

We all went downstairs. Everywhere looked scanty (really scanty- streets looked deserted and we looked like we were the only ones in the whole of that area). From nowhere, some policemen came and they told us to go back inside and that everything was fine.

***********************************************************************************************************************

I opened my eyes at 2:45 a.m and my heart was beating at a very faster pace! The only thing that came to my head was Rapture and the antichrist! I WAS TERRIFIED!

People, I'm not here to bore you with any preaching. This was what I saw and i decided to share.

LET US LIVE OUR LIVES LIKE GOD WILL COME THE NEXT MINUTE! God bless

Big Nigerian stars Psquare and Flavour are currently enjoying what the best of Cape Town has to offer. Both music acts are in South Africa, and it is more likely that they are in the country for work and not pleasure. But that does not mean that the hit makers are not cruising in the city. Peter Okoye posted pictures of him, Paul and Flavour together. A point to ponder, Psquare and Flavour have not collaborated before….hmmm

that particular area is not really bad,am talking abt park to osisioma, the main problem is the other end which is port Harcourt road to flyover, ariaria, and numerous others.

HealthRe: 19th June - World Sickle Cell Anaemia Day. My Story As A Warrior by sunsewa: 3:18pm On Jun 19, 2015
treasuremabel:

Following a mysterious bone pains at age 8, I found out I had sickle cell anaemia,
It wasn't easy to mange it then.
To start with,

Sickle cell is a blood disorder that is hereditary n starts from when one is born,
So what happened? Why did mine wait till I was 8 before it started?

Funny enough, my mum said I was never sick as a baby n the only problem I had was measles,
I grew curious n asked my doctor,
After a number of 'no idea' replies he came up with an hypoyhesis where he claimed that my healthy look n lack of crisis or sickle cell symptoms till age 8 was as a result of extensive breast feeding.
Still don't know if his hypothesis is wrong or right.

Life as a warrior wasn't easy but what helped me was the refusal to accept self pity in my life,
Crazy enough, I happen to belong to a class of people who are intelligent,
After coming first in exams, I kept telling myself on n on that I was better than those with normal RBCs
I believed it too n that worked for me!
I had a dream n I wanted to accomplish it irrespective of my health difference n the set backs I suffered as a sickler
I refused to receive pitied love, in fact I got disgusted when people became nicer to me just cos they found out I have sickle cell anaemia.
I refused to compromise, I dreamed like every normal person.

How did I do it all??
1. I just believed in myself
2. I took care of my health, you know, eat at the right time, avoided stuff that contained iron, avoided extremely bitter things, made sure the weather was conducive for me, drank lots of water n took fruits.
3. I never depended on the drugs
4. I set goals for myself
5. I discovered who I am n who I wanted to be
6. I gave no room to self pity or pity from others
7. I saw sickle cell anaemia as a challenge not a disease
8. I never allowed myself to get intimidated by those with normal RBCs
9. I just kept FIGHTING n NEVER GAVE UP.

Tell you what, I don't take folic acid everyday, I don't take any drugs at all currently but my lifestyle has kept me away from hospital for 1year n 8months now,

If I can do it....you can do better cos we all are warriors.

To those who have loved ones who are warriors, keep encouraging,
Its not easy but its POSSIBLE!

Let's spread the awareness n keep FIGHTING!
good one,but if the profile picture attached to ur moniker is you, then u don't look like one.ride on God should be or strength.

FamilyRe: Nigerian Men & 'Come To My House' Syndrome by sunsewa: 11:43pm On Jun 18, 2015
swagloverss:
It was intended to be a simple PM on my BBM but the number of furious replies I got indicated that I had to expand my reach. The said PM was – “Naija men with come to my house, come to my house.” Is there seriously no young man who can advise his fellow men on dating etiquettes? Help us plssssss”

I sincerely felt that I was alone in this predicament till I started getting pings from people who were even more angry about it than I was. And then I realized that this is a general epidemic.

Now, I had different responses from people and I will attempt to put those responses into consideration and not be too streamlined with my views.

Most of the males who responded to my PM agreed with the fact that their brothers are not representing the male folks as well as they should in this area but one of the men made a case for our culture being the reason for this predicament.

According to him, Nigerians do not see the home as a private place and can invite just about anyone into their home. He also talked about the mentality that has been deeply ingrained in us – some men just don’t think that going on dates is necessary, or rather, “we can meet up at my house, there’s no need to go through all that white culture ish” (paraphrased)

As much as I understand where he was coming from and I agree with him that the Nigerian mentality has a lot to bear with this situation. I also think that there are two reasons why the “come to my house issue” is so rampant today.

(1) Some men just don’t think that it’s necessary to go through all that stress in wooing a lady anymore.

A friend of mine actually said that chivalry is dead in response to my PM but I am a positive person, so I refuse to believe that there is no single man on this earth who knows how to take a woman on a date and win her heart slowly – no, there must surely be such men left on earth. (yes, I am rooting for the male folks)

Some Nigerian men just believe that all that “taking a woman to a lovely restaurant and stuff” is for “oyibo people“. I mean, you will be surprised at the number of educated men who would invite you to their house at first meeting.

The man who inspired my PM is a lecturer. Another man who contributed to my cry for help studied law as a first degree. He is involved in media and publicity for a while, and is a called pastor… so you can go figure out the thing about education being a way to raise up people with a modern outlook on things.

(2) 80 % of the men who invite ladies to come to their house at first meeting have no good intentions at heart.

Now, I have to be very careful with how I say this, because I understand like my male friend stated above: that for some men, inviting a lady to their house at first meeting just doesn’t mean anything to them.

They weren’t raised with the mentality that the home is a private place. So even if they just met a lady they are interested in, they can hang out at their house as a first date – with no ulterior motive involved on their part. So yes, I agree that those kind of men exist.

We don’t need to go deep down into stories do we? Or maybe we do. Listen carefully and you will hear stories from the lady who has true stories to tell on how she had to fend off SERIOUS sexual advances just because she believed a man who said he had no ulterior motive for inviting her to his house.

Some of our female friends won’t open up to us but some ladies have been raped because of the “come to my house syndrome”. They cower in shame and guilt, berating their selves that they should have known better than to go to his house. And the society doesn’t make it easy on them too.

Most people would say things like – “Why did you go to his house? That’s a sign that you wanted the sexual act to happen” So the victims keep quiet and bottle up the hurt and shame inside.

What about the guy that tells you to just come into his house while he dresses up so you both can go out and then, under the guise of that excuse starts drawing close for a kiss?

So the “come to my house syndrome” is a serious one. Aside from the serious underlying issues of ladies who have had sad stories of sexual assault and rape to tell, it also begs for a total overhauling of the way some Nigerian men view wooing a lady – an overhauling of faulty dating mentalities.

If the woman was to be a street lady, we might pardon you, but no, you see a decent lady with her worth shining through and you just don’t want to put in an effort into treating her like the jewel that she is.

What would it take for you to take the natural order of the way things should be in cultivating a relationship with her?
Would a time out at a restaurant be too much to ask? It doesn’t even have to be a classy restaurant – just a neutral place where you both can talk that’s not your house.

So I plead again, don’t we have young mighty men of valor who can advise their fellow men on dating etiquettes? Men who can organize classes and teach their fellow men these things – if it comes to that.

Or maybe I should be pleading with our churches too. Almost every church organizes programmes for ladies on how to be virtuous women, how to behave themselves while on a date, etc. Can’t such programmes be held for men too? Women aren’t the only ones who need to be groomed, men need to be groomed too.

So gentlemen, I sincerely still believe that there are a lot of you who are getting it right in the area of what I just talked about.
Please teach your fellow men about these things, we will be absolutely grateful to you all.

Signed,
The community of ladies who are tired of the “come to my house syndrome”
