MetalJigsaw: How us Iheanacho faring..? Don't tell me he caused that goal.
He's not doing badly. I've seen more work from him than from Vardy. That pass was awful though, the one thing he's done wrong, but I think Mahrez should have done better.
Humility017: don't tell me you mean the bolded.... I seriously fear for kayode and ideye though...
Heard a news report yesterday that Kayode himself was quoted as saying he couldn't cope with the level of play in la Liga or something of the sort. Can't confirm though.
He dropped quotes from the movie u're here crying "spoilers".
Life is simple. If u never watch the movie then dont enter the thread to avoid potential spoilers.
Personally i think the concept of spoilers and complaining about it is just stupîd. U cant expect people to put on hold discussions about the movie just coz u haven't watched it.
Seriously, opening weekend isn't even over yet. Everybody will not watch it on opening night. The least is to give a warning. Plus that bit of info is something some people might be surprised and excited about during the movie. Quotes can be spoulers too.
Kingrapha: Guys, I know Wb messed up, but which studio hasn't. 20th century fox. did with xmen origins and apocalypse, paramount did with the transformers franchise. and i can never forgive them for the last airbender.... Disney did with John Carter (whose budget is almost that of JL).
let's not forget the amazing dc films that wb actually brought our way.... The dark knight trilogy, watchmen, superman 1 & 2, v for vendetta, Constantine, Bvs, MoS, WW, tim Burton batman and batman returns etc. not to mention other great franchises under the Wb umbrella.....
let's let bygones be bygones. constantly discussing the woes of the Dceu is tiring.
100naira: Black panther!!!! dope as f'ck, great visuals, technology, fights and acting. I really didn't want it to end. Mehn Marvel has stepped up their villians recently, kilmonger was op, "is this your king?"
Also okoye, BP's sister, his ex and the man himself.
"delete that footage"
Also sambisa forest and boko haram got a shout out in the movie
"walahi I will kill her now"
You people cannot just review a movie without spoiling it. Must you mention details?
Jarus: Thanks guys. This thread is my NL Discovery of the Year 2017. Not aware of it before.
Happy to see that you guys successfully activated my failed attempts to have active discussions on Nigerian players since 2007/2008 when I gave up after many failed threads.
One guy, his username I can't recall, also did well by doing a thread on weekly performance of Nigerian players abroad some 4-5 years ago. He held on for 2 or 3 years before the thread also died.
European club football the culprit again.
You guys are too much. I salute your depth of knowledge of Nigerian footballer. I'm a learner here, especially on these Nigerian young foogballers in Engkand and Germany, some of whom I heard about for the first time on this thread.
I'm more of an established player person. Don't monitor upcoming so much.
I'm also as enthusiastic of African football as I am of Nigerian, hence my broader outlook here. I follow players from other African countries too. That is why my arguments are more pan-African than pan-Nigeria.
I know objectivity itself is subjective but I try to be objective in my analysis, one of the few Nigerians who don't believe Moses deserved a Top 3 spot in APOTY 2017.
We have a lot to discuss in 2018 - World Cup, AFCON qualifiers, CHAN etc.
I will try and keep up the Player Rating after SE matches which I have been doing since 2012.
Good job. I always look forward to your player ratings.
Fuckusernamesjor: Although my intention wasn't for it to be click bait-y it's just honest,I feel it's a disappointment but since you're offended,I'll take it down
It's fine to have your reviews and opinions. The movie has a few things that could have been done better, but i think it's far from being a disappointment.
TonySpike: Which format are you referring to, dude? I am referring to the tone of the Shazam DC short video I posted. That doesn't look absurdly comedic to me. Light humour is fine with me but not making it excessive is also okay
Format, tone...all join. We're talking about the lightheadedness. Let's not run in circles around saying the same thing. The bold is just saying the same thing i stated.
TonySpike: This is your typical Shazam origin story as a DC animated short. I don't see any absurd comedy here, rather, I see a story with the right blend of seriousness and light humour. There might be other portrayals of Shazam but this is the most appropriate for an origin story.
Modified: Why must the origin story follow this format? This doesn't mean a very light or lightly comedic theme won't work. It's not every story or character that has to be brooding or serious. This is one case where comedy will work. Nothing wrong in exploring it.
TonySpike: Oh well, WB is desperately trying hard to get as many billion dollar entries as Disney does yearly. But I don't think they are making the right decisions at the moment. As contentious as those previous DCEU movies were, it still had lot of admirers globally. But this new direction being proposed by Geoff John will be the death of DCEU and the downward spiralling of Comic Book Movies. I read that a comedy writer is being proposed to write Shazam, when exactly did Shazam become comedy? I just don't understand these guys again.
On the contrary, when I heard a Shazam movie was in the works, I instantly thought of maybe not fully comedic but very very lighthearted movie. I think it will be very fitting. When Zachary Levi was cast, I thought "perfect". I see no wrong in that.
Joebie: He will have a hard time at the bigger stage.. As his philosophy can only work with youth teams or teams with younger players. Not taking anything away from him.
Only reason you feel that way is probably because he's not a big name coach yet. Someone who's an established and proven coach will get away with worse.
Kingrapha: The family is corned by Parademons and won’t make it. Superman and Flash go to save them. It becomes a race. Flash saves the family by dragging their car, then looks over to see Superman carrying an entire apartment building full of people.
I imagined this scene and laughed. Probably one of the lighthearted scenes from joss whedon's reshoots.
Danycrusoe: let's give it to the only Nigerian Referee that has been involved in International matches in recent times, Anietie Ferdinand udoh, he was the referee in the South Africa vs Cape Verde game that just ended. his AR1 is also Nigerian but can't recall his name. sincerely I v not really heard of any other Nigerian referee on the African scene, he was involved in some Caf champions league and Caf confederation cup matches last season. I hope we produce more of him.
The name sounded familiar so I looked him up. He used to play back then in unilorin. Very fit guy. In this period where Nigerian referees are either below par or unrecognized, he has done well for himself. Kudos to him.
"..they ask me why I brought a baby to battle...give me a break, I didn't learn parenting, my daddy was a planet". At first I was like but after a while I was like
This kind of journalism leaves me scratching my head. The heading says National Assembly forced the acting president to visit Buhari, but in the same story, the authority who was asked to confirm the story said it is a lie. Yet the paper decides to create a narrative.
Wonder Woman has done 100million domestic and over 200 million world wide so far. Still expecting final opening weekend numbers. As is, it's already the biggest opening weekend number for a female director.
moneyallowed: Marvel’s New Warriors is a new comedic live-action adaptation of the popular Marvel comic featuring young adult heroes.
The following characters will be featured in the series:
Doreen Green (Squirrel Girl) Superpower: “The powers of a squirrel, the powers of a girl” (is acrobatic, strong, can fight, can talk to squirrels) Doreen is a totally empowered fangirl. She is a natural leader—confident and tough, but not innocent. Doreen is bouncy and energetic and her greatest quality is her optimism… She has faith in others and inspires people to believe in themselves. She also takes her pet squirrel, Tippy Toe, everywhere.
Craig Hollis (Mister Immortal) Superpower: Cannot die. Ever. Maybe. So he says. The team troublemaker and lothario… Craig is kind of like “The Most Interesting Man Alive,” except he’s more cocky than confident and at times, charmingly grumpy. Although Craig’s superpower seems amazing, he hasn’t made use of it at all—he’s lazy and figures if he has all the time in the world to learn how to fight, what’s the rush?
Dwayne Taylor (Night Thrasher) Superpower: None Dwayne is a local celebrity “hero” with his very own YouTube channel. Brilliant, strong, noble, and maybe a bit full of himself, Dwayne is a shameless self-promoter and entrepreneur. But he also deeply believes in justice — at least his version of it. Dwayne hides the fact that he comes from a really rich family because he’s afraid he’ll lose his street cred.
Robbie Baldwin (Speedball) Superpower: Can launch kinetic balls of energy Robbie grew up watching Quinjets take off from Avengers Tower and loves the idea of being a hero. He’s an impulsive and immature people-pleaser with a misplaced sense of confidence. Although you would think throwing kinetic balls of energy would be awesome and effective – his are completely out of control.
Zack Smith (Microbe) Superpower: Can talk to germs Zack is a shy hypochondriac whose ability nearly makes him a telepath — the germs tell him where you’ve been, what you ate and who you hung out with. It’s impossible to keep secrets around him. He’s a big sweet guy the team takes under their wing, and they help him find and grow his own confidence.
Deborah Fields (Debrii) Superpower: Low level telekinetic; trickster Deborah is proud, funny and quick witted. Confidently out as a lesbian, Deborah has experienced deep loss in her personal life as a direct result of super “heroics.” She can take care of herself, or at least says she can. She’s the one who calls people on their BS and has no fear of putting her opinions out there.
Aren't these the guys that caused civil war? I wouldn't have imagined they would do New warriors. Would have love to see the original members that included Nova and namorita (I think). Been a long time.
PS: you missed one power for squirrel girl...she always wins. At least that's how it's portrayed.
TonySpike: UPDATE: Patrick Wilson has been cast as Orm (Ocean Master), Aquaman's half-brother in Aquaman movie to be directed by James Wan. By the way, Patrick Wilson appeared in Zack Snyder's Watchmen as Nite Owl, a role he performed so well. Congrats, Patrick!
Minemrys: Suicide squad has one of the best soundtracks/theme in the DCEU. Can't stop listening to Purple Lamborghini, heathens, You don't own me and Bohemian rhapsody. So, what does any0ne think about the rumour of General Swanwick being the Martian Manhunter/ j'onn j'onnzz?
I thought it was an interesting twist when I heard it. Wished it would have stated a Secret till we see it revealed in the justice league end credits scene.
The group said it is not in support of corruption, but...
It's funny, those who defend these corrupt people often start their defence with the phrase in quote and end up giving no valid reason she should not be arrested other than the fact that she's the wife of the former president.
