Ta nehisi? why?he's one of the most acclaimed guys around. The way this run is going it might be 2nd only to Priest
He's a black guy. Can't remember his name. I think the first 2 issues weren't that we'll received.

Yes the the anad run. I think you meant JL not JL rebirth, that's the best selling comic of last month, Civil War 11 is still the best selling of the year. JL can surpass Civil Was if it tops the list for August, we'll see. DC's killing it currently with their comics: Wonder Woman, Dark Knight 111 and The Sheriff of Babylon are all great. For Marvel, Vision, Silver Surfer and Black Panther are probably the best this year
To think that some people doubted black panther initially when they brought in the new writer.

Anyone complaining about the Hydra reveal concerning Captain America is obviously not reading the comics but following internet gist. That was revealed in the first issue and everyone was making noise about it,why you haven't heard anyone talk about it anymore is cos they'll look stupid now. When Cap got his youth restored,he also got false memories implanted by Red Skull's agent Kobik, he was playing the long con

Like I said anyone who regularly reads comics wouldn't have freaked out by the whole thing, usually they have a heel turn or twist in the first issue in order to increase sales for the rest of the run. That first issue is still the best selling comic of the year thanks to the controversy, cos people fell for it

Anyway I'll highly recommend the series,a lot of stuff is going down that I won't spoil here, just know if you don't catch up on it ,you might be lost when the whole thing is over. There's a whole changing of the guard thing going on now, really exciting
The whole ANAD marvel thing, yea?

By the way, I think JL rebirth is actually the best selling comic of the year. Can't remember where I read that though.

True, but it is the essence of the character. Steve Rogers is the Boy Scout of Marvel, and the era which the character was made in - just like Superman - during WW IIholds strong for the roots if the character, it turns a whole lot history on its head. If they had made it as one of the other AUs (eg Ultimate) then no wahala, but they changed it in the main universe. It's gone from fighting for truth, justice & the American way into a lie. It's like finding out that Kal-El was sent as a spy as a baby to make Earth New Kypton, while destroying humanity & that he knew all along, with the Kryptonians hiding out in the Phantom Zone and then they launch a full-on invasion. We're not talking about months or a few years, it's decades of history. Imagine the uproar folks would make if the Superman story I just proposed was real.

Imagine if DC decided to make Batman the creator of all his greatest rogues, because Bruce was suffering from PTSD from his parents' death & decided that since he's now a worldclass fighter, he might as well fight worldclass villains. Imagine the real reason why he didn't kill Joker & co was just for the thrill of the inevitable chase & fight and the fact that he could always do it all over again. Now, I won't mind reading those stories, but that would be 50+ years of character development down the toilet, since everything was essentially a lie.
couldn't have explained better.

Why? Why do you hate it?? Because captain america stands for righteousness??
Because to me, it doesn't make sense. If he's been a hydra agent all along, how come he's spent his life crumbling hydra plans and defeating them rather than sabotaging the US government? He can if he wants to. The only explanation that would make sense is if he was brainwashed and he was recently triggered...more like the winter soldier.

Of course, that's my opinion.

By the way, a new DC series on Superman's planetary history is about to get started on Syfy. It will be called KRYPTON, might be launched before the year ends.
It'll feature Jor-El's father as the main character. The only thing that will make it even close to successful is a very very good storyline.

In other news, rumour has it that the green lantern Corp movie will feature three human lanterns...an older Hal Jordan (in his forties) an younger John Stewart and Kyle Rayner. Looks like we won't be seeing Guy Gardner anytime in the near future.

X-men Apocalypse is next, then Suicide Squad in August , then Doctor Strange

There are still many movies coming this year that are anticipated. When you add Star Wars :Rogue One, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, Jason Bourne, Independence Day 2, Teenage Ninja Mutant Turtles 2, Now You See Me 2, Warcraft, Finding Dory, The Purge 3, The Legend of Tarzan, Star Trek Beyond, The Magnificent Seven, Underworld 5, Jack Reacher 2, The Girl on the Train, Assassin's Creed.... we can get ourselves a new thread and rank them
*looking at you Eapps* do your work
For some reason, I'm not so eager for X-men. I hope I'm wrong.

Well that makes sense, Alfred warned him but he didn't listen either. Maybe what he was feeling at the graveside was guilt because he knew it was partly his fault superman died.
Hopefully now that they've done most of their world building Justice League will be a far better movie

Do you think Superman will join them at the beginning of that film or at the end? From Snyder's comments I fear he may not even be in the movie at all, maybe in part 2. He mentioned how powerful superman is and the JL member s having to make do without him
Too soon to tell. I'm guessing it will be somewhere in the middle, when all hope seems lost.
I'm curious to see how they explain the resurrection...not superman's resurrection, he's a god after all. They can cook up anything easily and it would make sense. I mean Clark's resurrection. Let's see how that happens.

SPOILERS!!!! SPOILERS!!!!! SPOILERS!!!!

Things I loved

-Ben Affleck killed it. Admit it, we were all wrong. The chemistry he had with Alfred was on point. Wish Alfred got more scenes. Also wth happened to Lucius Fox? He just disappeared from the planet, they didn't even mention him in the movie. Weird. Morgan Freeman must be pissed. This ninja Punisher style Batman has the best action scenes hands down of any onscreen bat, Bale included. The best was the Martha Kent rescue. My favourite scene in the entire movie was the final fight with Doomsday when Superman & Wonder Woman are giving it to the ugly mofo then Batman looks at the level of these guys and decides they're out of his league. My guy just shifted back and tried not to die. Then when it was looking like Supes/WW were wondering where is this useless Batman sef?, he tosses a grenade and gives them that look like, omo I try abi? Hilarious

-Wonder Woman. She should have gotten more screen time. Everyone is raving about her performance but she was barely there. The little we got was cool tho. I love her accent.

-Batman v Superman fight: I don't like it took so long or that it was so short but boy was this awesome. This is what I paid money for

What I Hated

-What does Lex really want? They never explained his reasoning. The characterisation made him look like a madman, but he's not like Joker/madman, he's Lex, with a plan. Seriously disappointed. At times it felt like I was watching a poor imitation of a hybrid Riddler/Joker. I don't understand how Lex got this alien ship technology info on meta humans and suddenly has the landline of Darkseid. His plan makes no sense because we don't understand his motivations - blow up the Senate building and kill his assistant? Why? Kill superman? Why? Why did he even use his DNA when it could be tracked back to him. Also how on earth will the Capitol of all places get blown up and the only consequence is "Superman is sad"? This is something that should have more impact than 9/11

-So Superman had to die, because of course it's Doomsday and he always kills Superman, so he can rise like Jesus Christ. Did you notice how the movie was just forcing the whole Jesus thingy? The statues, the blood, the worship, the followers, the betrayal....... It's not by force Hollywood, it's not by force

-The Spear, the bloody Spear. How did Lois know the importance of the Spear? It was so funny, she needs it, then she doesn't need it again and throws it away, then she needs it again? And Supes and Batman just left it lying around conveniently? Hmm
Also why didn't Superman give Wonder Woman the Spear to kill Doomsday with when she had showed she was as strong as him and could do the job, when he knew it would kill him, abi he just wanted to die by force?

-Batman kills without mercy, Punisher style, he even wanted to kill Superman , nawa oo. What's the purpose of the branding of criminals, don't understand it. Then Bats changes his entire mind cos he finds out Supes has a mother and his own mother was killed in slow motion when he was little so he knows what it feels like to lose your mother and the mother's name is even Martha sef wow his own mother's name was Martha too wow this must be a sign from God they're meant to be best friendshuh Argggh. His graveside sadness was just fake as well, I mean you wanted to kill this guy 30 minutes ago
The way Batman was brutal they'd better show he's killed all his villains including Joker, that's why he has no one left to fight except Supes or else...

-The dream. That came out of nowhere, and went nowhere. It served no function. Did I miss the part where Flash has a new superpower. So speed force can let you enter people's dreams now. I think I was the only one in my theatre that knew it was Flash, everyone else was like who is that, where did he go?

-Justice League was founded by email while Bats and WW were suited up waiting to bring down Doomsday. Ok . There was no need for that, they should have put it as a post credits scene
Funny, I agree with almost everything you typed, except the batman part. I think he was to clouded by his own rage and fear, he didn't realise he was being played by lex. Supes could have explained that to him in less than 5 mins, but of course he wouldn't have listened considering their previous encounter.
For the post credit scene, I think they didn't want to go that route coz it's more of marvel's signature. The flash appearance would be confusing to non-comic book fans, plus it didn't add anything to the plot.
For everything else, I mostly agree with you. I think they put so much of their world building into this one movie because justice league is close and they'll need to explain a whole lot.

BvS
Was I entertained by the film? Yes.
Did the film annoy me? Yes.
Could the Batman vs Suprman fight have been avoided? Yes. I kept saying if they were played by women, they would have had the conversation during the first 5 minutes.
Was Wonder Woman awesome? Yes.
Was she wasted? Yes.
Did I genuinely laugh during this film? Yes.
Did I want to slap the World's Greatest Detective being easily played by Alexander Luthor? Yes.
Did I just watch a film partially based on the Injustice: Gods Among Us game, the Justice Lords episode of the JL/JLU cartoon series & DCAOM JL: The Flaspoint Paradox? Yes.
Will folks who don't know the mythos of the comics or the aforementioned media be confused by the dream sequence? Yes...unless they're used to watching sci-fi with alternative universes and/or inter-dimensional travel.

This film will make tons of money - it is 12A after all, but I bet some folks will not admit that they had issues with it. I now understand why critics have issues with this & why one internet reviewer called Alexander, Lex Jr. In fact, I've taken to calling him Alexander, as you may have noticed.
Your review makes sense. But I disagree with lex playing Bruce. Bruce has the same fears as lex does about superman. With all the set up against supes, you really can't blame him.
I do understand some of the criticisms. The part where flash appeared in the dream was unnecessary in my opinion. It didn't add anything to the plot, and I thought those who didn't know about the comic stories would be confused by it. Obviously, the movie was made for comic book fans mostly as Amy Adams said.
One thing I don't also like is how they didn't explain how everyone got to know everyone else's identity.
Overall, I still enjoyed the movie. The critics were obviously too harsh, like they were already waiting for it to fail. I give it an 8/10.

Isn't that superman statue the one they showed in the trailers? I saw a full blow-by-blow BvS narration in the spoiler website I gave the link up there. I was almost tempted to read the whole thing but one line I saw was the death of Supes and Martha kent. I closed my browser immediately though make dem no spoil the surprise for me. Some peeps are already saying that Superman was treated badly in the movie due to his death. I guess this is the part of the movie is what leaves people with divided opinion. Why the hell should he die and batman lives to lead Justice league...lol? I like the outline of the movie already, this movie will change the Superhero genre forever! Unfortunately, I won't be watching it until next week Tuesday at my local cinema here. The full movie story would have circulated by then.

So I finally finished DD season 2. What I can say is its definitely better than season 1. More character development, more action, tighter story, less backstory. Foggy and Karen are much better here than in season 1 too which helped

Standout performances for me, The Punisher, Elektra, Stick and Karen. Best episode for me was episode 9,best fight scenes were in episode 3 and the Punisher had the best lines

My major disappointment was the season finale. It was easily the weakest episode. It's something I've noticed about the Marvel Netflix series, they all have weak endings. The same thing happened in DD season 1 and Jessica Jones too, I hope they fix this.

Overall though, excellent series. Everything is perfectly setup for season 3 and from the villains they setup it will be so much better than this. The only thing that's holding them back now is The Defenders. The way it's looking now the schedule is

September 2016 - Luke Cage

Early 2017 - Iron Fist

Late 2017 - The Defenders

No one knows when they'll have time to make Jessica Jones season 2 or Daredevil season 3 or even The Punisher series.

Last word, DD is the best superhero series currently on air, hands down better than Agents of shield, better than Agent Carter, better than Arrow better than Flash, better than Supergirl, better than Legends of tomorrow, better Jessica Jones....... It's the best period. That's why we need a third season. The Defenders can wait imo
Where can I download please? I really enjoyed season 1. I think I'll love this one even more, with what you've written up there.

What do you think of the long review I posted up there?
All the reviews I've read so far are positive. Some are even saying it's the best comic book movie ever (pinch of salt though). That tells you something about those who have actually seen the movie as against speculators. I usually don't mind spoilers, but I'm glad this review was spoiler free. I don't think you read my posts well enough. I never said that the likes of flash will fail because there is also a Tv flash already running, I said that the disadvantages of a multi verse in my opinion is that there is a competition between two characters, the one on TV and the other on the big screen. The TV flash is currently the best DC TV show airing and that brings up competition for the big screen flash and like I previously said, whether that's successful is entirely up to DC. The fact that the likes of the flash, aquaman and cyborg are given to little known actors puts pressure on them and not their acting skills, heck was it not here that you guys were arguing about how ezra miller was a relatively unknown and how so many people know very little about him so what is wrong about my assertion? Look at the new guy who is going to play spiderman in civil war, the guy is relatively unknown and that makes it hard for him to nail down the role which will be judged after his appearance in CW, let's say Andrew Garfield returned to play the iconic character, you have already seen him play the character before and so it won't be a problem judging him by that but by the story he has in the movie. Nobody is judging their acting skills but their ability to perform on the big screen coupled with the fact that they are playing popular characters. By the end of the second justice League movie, we will find out how successful it is.
What disadvantage? Before marvel did a shared TV and big screen universe, who talked about disadvantage, even though it had never been done before? Don't be quick to pick holes where there's none. I really don't want to enter a debate. All you're saying don't hold water. I don't know what pressure you're talking about. These are actors that have played different roles to audience acclaim, and it's not like they have big shoes to fill, except say jared leto who has to play joker after heath ledger's performance.
Let them flop first before you start listing why they did.

That's the thing, the guy is letting his fanboy love impair his judgement. He assumes that every Marvel fan is raging fanboy, forgetting that some of us just watch every single comic based movie. He will blindly spew without actually taking in valid points. FOX mishandled the hell out of fant4stic, I'm still surprised the film even got released after all the behind the scenes drama. The film really goes downhill after the 1 year flash forward. Sue's ever changing hair was a terrible distraction, that thing even changed between shots in the same freaking scene! Why? Fox demanded reshoots & the actress had cut her hair by then & they thought we wouldn't notice. Sometimes, you feel like you're watching 2/3 different films in 1 film. These executives actually thought they would make money to do a sequel, see how they just cancelled that after all the criticism. Funny how they made the previous F4 films look like Citizen Kane.

Wolverine Origins is a story of Fox's hubris after the stunt they pulled with The Last Stand, which actually made money inspite of its epic fails (I knew it would be crap, when they said Phoenix was a split personality, I honestly said bulls**t rather loudly at the cinema & folks actually turned to look at me & I honestly replied "what? It's bulls***t." I actually own the comics this story was based on written by Joss Whedon, this arc actually resurrected the dead Collosus & also had my favourite Collosus/Shadowcat cover. Then they tried to handle the Phoenix saga in a very very short time).

Anywho WO, the one were the fictional Wakandas were speaking Igbo & they mistranslated (Yes, I noticed), with some rubbish CGI claws, weird ass decisions (Silver Fox being Emma Frost's sister...say what? Frost's early manifestation of her diamond form. Deadpool being a pre-plastic surgery candidate), don't get me wrong I'm game for change, I've enjoyed most of the X-Men films despite the big changes (seriously Angel Salvatore came out in the 2000s, her ass did not exist during the actual 1st class, Havok is actually younger than Cyclops - characters' ages have been changed a lot to fit the mythos they've made in the films, I'll not bore you with my knowledge, I've done that already at every social gathering during the time those films were released).
Putting the bias aside, you'll agree that parrotibaba's posts were mostly untrue clouded by fanboy bias. How can he say flash may fail just because there's a TV show running? Does that make sense? Do you expect ezra miller not to do as well or better than grant gustling? How can he call Ben affleck, ezra miller, Jason mamoa, jared leto, gal gadot unknown actors? Even if they were, does that take away their talent and ability to play their given roles? I read your own posts and even though I know you're a marvel fan, I know you know what you're talking about. But what that guy said? E no gel at all.

That's unfair. It hasn't done anything to deserve my hostility yet. There's a big difference between outright hostility and healthy skepticism. If a concern about the R rating qualifies as hostility then it's really sad

When all you hear about a movie fills you with dread, when it leaves a bad taste in your mouth, that's hostility. The only cbm that has managed to elicit that reaction from me has been F4. Gambit is the heading in that direction too.

The only thing more stupid than bashing a movie before it's been released is defending a movie from imaginary haters. Totally pointless
Gambit has been cancelled. Till a new date is announced.
