Politics / Re: What Is The Deal With PHCN by superboi(m): 3:02pm On Nov 22, 2013
ruffhandu: Eagle eye,
Different coys offer different electric power services; some generate, some distribute etc. The old PHCN staff were disengaged but the new companies have to absord the old staff for smoother transition, I believe most of them may be dropped with time. But for now, they work for the new companies. But they are all on the edge, they know that the slightest mess-up from them will attract severe sanctions from their new employers.

I was even wondering:
The advent of mobile comm coys sent NITEL to the backyard and the coys made access to comm affordable.
How does this privatisation of PCHN forster competition that'll break the monopoly of PHCN?

Lol you people don't really think things through do you?
Power sector and Telecoms and both very different in today's World and unless there is a radical shift in Technology (Like the advent of GSM in telephony). This method of privatization that have been followed means that it is the Power producers that have the bargaining power and not the consumers unlike telecoms sector.

This is because the is more Money chasing the little available power available and the fact as an end consumer you cannot change your power supplier unless you pack to a different town or region. So now it is the power companies that would chose who the would rather give power to unlike telecom where you could easily change sim.

Car Talk / Re: Why Do German And American Cars Have Low Resale Values? by superboi(m): 2:40pm On Sep 13, 2013
Simple Logic Why all Luxury Item Depreciate Faster than normal Item is their Initial cost:

For example you can't expect to find it easy to sell a N15 Million vehicle for more than 1/2 it value after 2 year because that would be about the cost of a decent Mid priced range SUV and most people with that kind of Cash would prefer something New.

Politics / Re: Why Are Workers Of Government Corporations So Rude? by superboi(m): 2:21pm On Sep 13, 2013
Judas2013:

One thing Nigerians ( i mean all Nigerians) need to learn is customer Service. Go to the bank too, even on telephone they are the worst things you could ever speak to . Even on Nairaland angry

I Agree with you, It is not only Government Agencies that you get poor personal relation skill by staff (notice I did not use customer) it is a national syndrome. A lot of Nigerian have poor Human skills and that is why we have a lot of issue that we have in the country. Drive on the road, stay on a queue and in other similar situations, you would see people blatantly disregarding their fellow country men for no reason.
Why do you expect this people to all of a sudden give you a proper respect because you are their customers? Also because of the confrontational nature of a lot of people who demand for Service front desk person in the country they naturally develop defensive attitude especially when the person manner of approach is also combative.

European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) / Re: What Is Your Take On The 2012 Fifpro World XI? by superboi(m): 3:45pm On Jan 08, 2013
People should note that this awards like most awards nowadays is just a popularity contest and not based on performance of the individuals.....No doubt some of the guys deserve to be on the list but most..(Ok about five) are not there on merit of performance but on popularity of performance...maybe based on performance of certain big games that everybody get to watch ( see "El-hypico" grin)...Men I watched mainly five leagues this past year and i could tell you the most exciting in football term was the Bundesliga followed by Seria A/Premership, teams in these leagues are more evenly matched and make for more exciting matches. Some dissed Pirlo....Clearly the best Mid fielder by miles both for club and National team and won the league back to back with two different teams...Borussia Dortmund's Lukasz Piszczek was one of the favorite in that position along with Lichtsteiner of Juve..... Even Shame go dey catch Pique as im dey collect the Award as he knows he was no way close to the top five central defenders last year, he was as go as Nesta in his last five month in Italy and Nesta is not even in the top 15 and am a Milan fan. Unless Hummels and TS (Thiago Silva) were not playing football then the people that voted defiantly do not watch football (Come to think of it how many of you here would watch a series based on your line of work as entertainment? unless you are forced to watch it as training you only watch the highlights...it only medical student that watch house and not real doctors grin)....

samguru: Type Price Owner

1. Falcons 7X. $51m(N8.2billion) Mike Adenuga
2. Bombardier Global 6000 $45.5m(N7.3billion) Unknown
3. Bombardier Global Express 5000 $45m(N7.2billion) Aliko Dangote
4. Gulfstream G550 $40m(N6.4billion) Bishop Oyedepo
5. Gulfstream V $30m(N4.8billion) Bishop Oyedepo & Pastor Adeboye
6. Bombardier Challenger 604 $30m(N4.8b) Mike Adenuga
7. Embracer Legacy 650 $30m (N4.8b) Ifeanyi Uba
8. Hawker 900XP $20m(N3.2b) Dr Kashim and Sir Aremu Johnson
9. Gulfstream G450 $15m(N2.4b) Bishop oyedepo
10. LearJet $13.3m (N2.1b) Bishop Oyedepo and Dr Kashim

The growing penchant for private jets acquisition has cost wealthy Nigerians a sum of $6.5bn (N1.02tn) in the last five years.

Aviation sources reveal that the luxury trend, which rose by 650 per cent between 2007 and 2012, is encouraged among the rich by the need for privacy, fear of insecurity and the urgency required by modern business

Encomium magazine
Una why you dey quote Encomium nah!!! Junk Magazine?? Mike Adenuga doesn't have a Falcon 7x he flys a Bombadier Challenger 604 and Global XRS/5000 too like Dangote, Aruremi-johnson(Arik Air) and the Alakija Family ( Famfa Oil Tycoons). That the top 4.....The Pastors fly Variants of Gulfstream IV&V, and a lot of other guys fly The hawkers 800xp. But the truth is most of the other chaps are flying on leased jets, but junk mags like Encomium would even bother to investigate.
