Nigerian Breweries which is one of the biggest companies in Africa, Guiness, International Beverages and Brewery etc pay millions to FG in taxes. Why FG not seperate it before sharing it ?

Until Babangida, Nigeria doesn't have a presidential jet either, as they travel with one of Nigerian Airways aircrafts when they needed to travel only.
Eziachi it is either you came here to lie or you lack the knowledge. All the above listed Nations have Aircraft designated for use of their heads of states whether they are listed under their presidential fleet, Airforce or National carrier.

But opposition parties have rejected the result, calling for the declaration of a state of emergency in the state. In a combined press briefing, the candidate of the Peoples Redemption Party (PRP), Balarabe Musa; Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN), Sani Sha’aban; Congress for Progressive Change (CPC), Haruna Sae’ed, and Muktar Aruwa of the All Nigeria Peoples Party (ANPP), alleged massive irregularities by the PDP. According to them, the party acted in collaboration with INEC and security agencies to rig the election.

“In line with the character of the PDP which is willing to perpetuate themselves in power by all means and at all costs, they found it very convenient to carry out their rigging. Reports from southern Kaduna indicate more than 90 percent voter turnout in the area, with the dead and displaced victims of the recent violence all voting, and they voted PDP,” the statement read
OH!! That why they killed them huh huh, so they would not vote huh.
But on a serious note how was the opposition able to get such demographic information about the election just released a few hours ago? huh huh

Those who voted GEJ whether in the North or South did it because they think he's the right man for the job. It's got nothing to do with his state of origin or religion. You people need to stop with your ethnic politics.
That not true for most southerners too. Is someone like Pat Utomi not better for the Job than Jonathan? Most southerners voted Goodluck because he is from the south. IMHO if he wins, it is another blown 4  years for Nigeria as a Nation. I hope I am wrong sha!!

Now Troubles Brews in The UN as the lead General Resigns after he felt his mission has been subverted,

Gen. Abdul Hafiz to Choi: "We Are Not Here to Kill Ivorians! "

Mar 19, 2011 - 9:44:01 AM

"We're not in Cote d'Ivoire to kill Ivorians and I, I stop because I do not want to remain in the wrong," said Major General Abdul Hafiz, outgoing commander of the troops of the United Nations Operation in Cote d'Ivoire (UNOCI). According to our sources close to UNOCI, he made that statement a few hours after the presentation of his resignation. Hafiz, whose country is one of the poorest in the world knows that by doing such an act, he loses a lot of money, but he did it, for his dignity and respect for human life.
But officially, UN authorities accuse him of having provided ''top secret'' information to the author of the documentary film entitled ''Laurent Gbagbo in the the Gulf of Guinea whirlwind.'' This documentary film highlights the neo-colonialist appetite of France facing its African ''territory'' and the huge interests for which France is engaged in a war for the control of the Ivorian State. General Abdul Hafiz, whose functions come to an end, next Tuesday, March 22nd, was replaced by Maj. Gen. Gnakoudè Berens, a citizen from Togo. In reality, the senior officer of the Bangladeshi army, making his resignation, refused to endorse and participate in the genocide that France, the United States of America and the United Nations are scheming.

Who is General Abdul Hafiz ?

After a Master of Defence Studies, National University of Bangladesh, that Abdul Hafiz joined the infantry corps as an officer, May 8th, 1977. After a long journey, he was promoted Major General of the Bangladesh Army, December 31st, 2005.

General Hafiz replaced General Fernand Marcel Amoussou of Benin, who served the Mission for more than four years. Prior to assuming his new role, he Headed the military component of UNOCI (United Nations Mission in Côte d'Ivoire) from 2003 to 2004 and Deputy Commander of the United Nations Operation in Côte d'Ivoire ( UNOCI) from 2004 to 2005.

His experience within the UN peacekeeping operations began with his participation in the reconnaissance mission preparing for deployment of Bangladesh in November 1993 in Rwanda and Bosnia in August 1994.

General Hafiz also took part in the planning and coordination for the deployment of troops from Bangladesh to Somalia, Mozambique, Rwanda, Bosnia and Haiti from 1993 to 1994. From January to March 1992 he was appointed Chief Military Liaison Office in Zagreb. Previously, he was part of the Observation Mission of the United Nations in Iraq and Kuwait from 1991 to 1992.

In October 1994 he participated in a mapping exercise of Operations Peacekeeping at the seminar on the Operations of Peacekeeping Nations held at the United Kingdom School of Staff , Camberley , and in October 2006, the 11th Committee on Defence Forum held in Tokyo, Japan. He also attended the first national seminar on sustainable development.

General Hafiz holds several degrees and certificates. He attended various courses and training in both his country and abroad.

General Hafiz is a graduate from the School of National Defense, School of Staff and Defense Services (DCES).
General Hafiz took a course on small and heavy arms of infantry in China and Advanced Infantry Officer's course in the United States of America. He is also a graduate from the Defense Intelligence College of France. He speaks fluent English and French

when civilians are being slaughtered on the streets?[/quote]
This was the same reason Hitler gave for invading poland in 1939 saying the ethnic poles were killing Polish Germans.
My Question to Sagamite earlier way this, at what point do you intervene? and who verifies that the reason given for intervention is actually taking place?
If not tomorrow foreign powers can distort information and enter one country for bombing armed civilians(Libya), while if Isreal bombs Gaza they just cry out,
Foreign AffairsRe: Breaking News: Gbagbo Arrested. by superboi(m): 11:29am On Apr 12, 2011
Sagamite:
you will be one of the first to scream why is UN, American and Britain not doing anything to save your life or stop the suffering. I would hear you say: "no external state/institution should intervene, it is an internal matter".
I for one have always critizied people that critizied the UN for not using force in Rwanda, That is not their Job and should never be their Job because it always ends them supporting one side  of the conflict which in my view further complicates things other contries or neighbour can covetly or directl intervene or mediate. I may have different views from you bro but am using my brain,Lol you sounding like a Dictator now wanting me to think like you grin grin.
Sagamite:
Your point is what?

That justifies him not accepting he lost?
Nope suituation was not ripe enough for elections as whoever lost would resort to using arms(as a form of protest, as predicted by Thabo Mbeki). So in essence the election was just done to Justify the UN and "international community" to justify who to suuport and who to kill (north/south),

Sagamite:
Problems might be hard to solve but I don't see how you can solve such a problem in a short time and wait till it is resolved before you can have an election. You will probably have to wait 15 years or so discussing.

The rebels should disarm? Are you joking? So that Gbagbo would completely terrorise them? You did not see the way he was an openly, unashamed tyrant despite rebels with weapons, so what do you think he would do with a helpless opposition?
Sincere question,
Did you think if Gbagbo had been declared winner fairly that the rebels would accept the result also?

Just saw this don't know if it has been posted before.
Wahala dey ooooo,
Can de holy Quattara control this him boys
The seem overcomed with argo of holding big guns for too long,
And I think the Irony of this is that If they is peace in CIV eventually this boys are going to liberate their homeland from their main arms supplier Campore(Burkina Faso). So it seem to me Campore would be intrested to seeing this war continue or he may try something similar in Ghana, cause once a rebel always a rebel,

Sarahluv:
My Ivorian friend is so glad that Gbagbo is gone. Now how will Ouattara absolve his troops of the war crimes accusation?
This Issue is not about Gbagbo(at least to me) it is about soverignty and independence of a State.
Gradually we are losing this values and we are getting closer with each of this incidents to another imprelistic era.
When does the UN intervene? after the election is said to be rigged? proven to be rigged? when protest start? when 10/20/30/300/3000/30,000 unarmed people get killed?, when 10/100/1,000/10,000 armed "civilians" get killed?, When is the intervention point?
We should remember that most of the people that started colonialism actually did it from the view that they making the world a better place, but in my view it is wrong for another institution/state to intervene in the matter of an Independent institution/state, or outside the mandate of intervention that is agreed as this will lead to the further disintegratation of that state, eventually.
Leave your friend celebration, Not that Gbagbo is a hero or I regard him as much, but even Congolese celebrated the capture of Patrice Lumumba in the 60's. They should focus on the root cause of the Problem and that not Gbagbo,
Foreign AffairsRe: Breaking News: Gbagbo Arrested. by superboi(m): 10:26am On Apr 12, 2011
Sagamite:
So what do you prefer if not elections?

A dictatorship or a tyrant?
My Brother Saga, Former South African president Thabo Mbeki Advised the then warring groups and mediators huh like the UN and the French Govt that it was better that the problems that was causing the war in CIV should be trashed out and settled before any elections are held. He also adviced that the rebels should be disarmed before elections. (In essence he was advocating for a sort of peace and reconcilation/nationality talk kind of body.).

The truth my Brother it is not only elections that can solve problems(infact it would not solve any problem) where you have ethnic nationality issues, Look at the former Yugoslavia(Serbia, Bosnia, Montenegro, Kasovo et al) would any election as a unified state after Slobodan Milosovic brougth peace and progress to that land? As much as I believe in "Rainbow Nations" alot of issue we have in African is because some groups in one country is more closely aligned to another bodering nations.
Fact is even the real Northern Ivorian feels closer and cares more about the Southern Burkinabe than the southern Ivorian, Just as the Hausa man in Nigeria cares more about the Hausa man in Niger than the Igbo/Yoruba/Idoma man, and you can't blame or call him evil for that.

A country conducted elections finally in 2010, an election that was CRUCIAL to return stability and end a war.
How can election bring peace to an etnically(religious) divided country that was in a civil war and population split about 50/50 among the two groups??
Not my prayer but we are going to see a lot more conflicts like this in West Africa because countries just exist because their resources are valuable for elite(both local and foreign) and not because people share any nationalistic bond or history,
