Politics / Amotekun: The Federal Government And 'Exclusivity' Rascality. by superpundit: 12:00pm On Jan 20, 2020
In the last few weeks, the nation's public space has been awashed with shades of opinion on whether WNSN (AMOTEKUN) is legal or not. This came in response to a statement credited to the Attorney-General of the Federation, Shehu Malami in which he said that the establishment of AMOTEKUN was illegal.
I write to mention just a few issues that bothers on the exclusivity of the constitutional role of Federal Government on security.
Even though the Nigerian constitution may have conferred on the FG the exclusive right of control on security throughout the nation, we are also aware that the same constitution vest exclusivity of the control of security in every state of the federation in the Executive Governor of the state. Since the inception of the current democracy, the FG cannot averse to the truth that it has effectively played the exclusivity card in its handling of internal security in Nigeria at anytime. In fact, it is on record that states contribute a larger percentage of funding outside of personnel cost, to the Nigerian Police than the Federal Government. I stand to be corrected, but I make bold to say, that most vehicles on the inventory of the Nigerian Police since 1999 and till date were purchased by states and Local government and by private sector. we remember the ALGON Prado SUVs and motorbikes. purchases by states have remained endless. Also, states provide funds for fuelling of the vehicles on monthly Bases. The irony is that these Governors each of whom the Constitution describes as the " Chief Security Officer' in their respective states cannot give any order to a Police Commissioner, DSS State Director or Army Commander without them making a confirmation from Abuja whether to obey of not. I remembered the Fulani massacre in Enugu States about two or three years back. Despite every effort by the governor in providing required logistics against a known and impending massacre and all assurances by the police, army and other sister organisations, the massacre still took place early morning.
So, the questions that readily comes to mind to which the FG should be made to provide answer are, (1) Does the Constitution confer exclusivity without financial responsibility? (2) where is the fund voted yearly in federal budgets for the Nigerian police? (3) why has the federal government not refused states financial contributions to the police in the spirit of exclusivity of control over internal security?
In fact, in my own view, the states have carried the burdens of the police such that it allowed the federal government to delve into "exclusive rascality" in the management of internal security. you may ask me, how? The states haven picked up substantial part in Nigerian police bills have allowed the federal government to shift that role on the states, turning the State Governor into 'Chief Financier of State Security' while top police management and federal officials are neck deep in pilferage of security funds at federal level. We remember Tafa Balogun and many more. Not only that. As if that is not enough, the same Nigerian Police has muzzled the general public by turning itself into established bribery syndicate from top down, milking Nigerians on daily basis under pretences of not being well paid, and having to run the system's logistics on their own. So the observation is that even the FG (that is claiming exclusivity) still cannot take care of police personnel needs. so, where is the claim to 'exclusivity of role' by the FG.
Now I come to the deliverables. the FG should be reminded that a claim to exclusivity in role comes with exclusivity of responsibility and accountability. Despite being funded by states and local governments, and by funds pilfered from the general public over the years, the FG and the police have had nothing to show the Nigerian nation other than tales of incompetence, failure and dereliction of duty across the country.
The police over the years have pursued this same 'exclusivity rascality' against the establishment of the FRSC, NSCDC and of late, against the proposed PEACE CORP. This is utter shamelessness.
Where did the FG get it wrong. There is nothing new about the WNSN other than complementary security arrangements that have been in existence over the years at neighbourhood, Local government and State levels. I am aware for a long time, many local governments in Nigeria have engaged and paid vigilante groups to beef up security in complementary capacities and under the supervision of the Nigerian Police. AMOTEKUN is just an upscale version for better performance and increased output via inter-state cooperation. Perhaps, the question every Nigerian should ask PMB and his government is, What is the Government afraid of, or does the government have anything to hide?
We are all aware that at the inception of the AMOTEKUN initiative, the IGP was consulted and was physically present at the meeting of the state Governors of western Nigeria. why did the IGP not raise alarm at that time? Waiting till the time of launch shows that certain fifth columnists in the PMB government are at work and are up to something sinister. It is a pity that Nigeria's leaders are always good at shooting down good ideas for personal and primordial gains. So shameless is it that PMB is always found to lead such unpatriotic ventures.
My take is simple, the Governors of South West should endeavour to press forward with AMOTEKUN. They should understand that the people of South West elected them to serve them and to protect their lives and property. Failure to pursue that goal will make them accountable before men and God. To the FG, PMB should also note that he was also elected to protect the same lives and properties and he was given enough time to prove himself until he failed. he failed because he was busy being sectional and nepotistic. Nigerians know and are not in doubt where PMB's interest lies. Where his interest lies is where the interest of the police and the army lies. No wonder the captured BOKOHARAM insurgents are always rehabilitated and sent back home to reintegrates into the society despite drenching their hands in blood of innocent Nigerians. No Fulani has ever been prosecuted under PMB despite their heinous crime across the length and breath of middle Belt and Southern Nigeria, what a leader?
Yes, the President and his government could go ahead and call AMOTEKUN any name. He could even ban it like he has done to other bodies, but he should also note that he will not be able, never be able, to suppress the will of people of Southern Nigeria. At best, he will only succeed In making the clock to tick faster towards self determination.

The only thing is that the search is needless because anything incriminating would have been long evacuated by him. for those who care to know, Biodun thinks and lives as a Don. when he was in Ilorin, he was into forex and was using his church members big time to fund his forex trading, infact many of the young boys went bankrupt borrowing pastor morning. infact It will be a big surprise if Biodun is not found to be involved in laundering money for the big corrupt federal bureaucrats and politicians in his Church.

you are right. The initial rule was that civil and public servants are not allowed to do any business. But later an amendment was made that they can engage in subsistence (not commercial) agriculture. They can also buy shares. but then the understanding is that the value of shares would be commensurate to his earnings. even where there is gain/bonus on the shares, they are easily explainable. In the case of Momonu, the EFCC apparently gave him opportunity to explain how he came about the wealth, but he chose not to toe that line probably to avoid creating for the EFCC another insight into other properties
Business / Re: Man Gets A Car For Returning N53m Mistakenly Paid Into His Account By The Govt by superpundit: 5:52pm On May 03, 2019
I dey laugh o. Nigerians are gullible. each time an account is mistakenly credited with huge amount, they praise the account owner for returning it. of course he will eventually be notified of the error and the money recovered. if he fails to return it early enough, then he might be suspected to be an accomplice in a corrupt act if especially it turns out that whoever that posted the money had a corrupt intention.
How one can know whether he is truly a honest man is if his account is mistakenly credited with 2k by the Delta State Government and he does everything possible to quickly return that money. then it will be worthy to reward him.
infact I suspect fowl play in the reward. I feel someone inside government actually had a plan to dash this guy a car and wanted to find justification for it. For God's sake, this is not a case of whistle blowing against a corrupt act. The government and the bank knows which account was credited in error. it is well o Nigeria

This Saraki's matter will Make many develop sudden HBP walahi. He's got nothing to lose. The otoge revolutionists would soon know what's up. My friend's dad was a beneficiary of Saraki's scholarship schemes which gave my friend the opportunity of enjoying quality western education. In my undergraduate years in ilorin, I remember when many poor people would go to his dad's ( turaki ilorin) house to collect money every Friday to sort out their pressing needs. Some should get house rent etc. I was surprised how all these were forgotten in a hurry by the revolutionists who were hell bent on sending Saraki off power. Their case would soon be like that of anti ghadafi protesters in Libya who later realised they were deceived by the west to oust ghadafi. 2 years is too much to begin feeling the pain. Unfortunately those who sponsored otoge including Tinubu would have reaped the benefits alone and abandon the kwarans.

U are a total ignoramus. was Olusola Saraki spending his grandfather's money for the people he was helping?

Hmmm...

This is obviously in reaction to UNICEF's recent report on the statistics/rate of malnutrition amongst kids.

The honest truth is, if unicef cooperated and kept mum, this wouldn't have happened and they in cohort with the military hierarchy will continue in their un-ending projects of helping the at-risk kids while the military is busy funding a pseudo-war they really do not wish to end.

The military have got a point on this and it is nothing but the truth.

To understand this, ask yourself...why would these so-called humanitarian/intervention agencies come into a war-ravaged zone and proceed to continuously settle fo long-term plans. You'd see them renting a place for 10 years and expect them to pray for an end to such crisis which keeps them perpetually engaged, employed with huge allowances and unregulated funding?

****. do u think UNICEF is a war time interventionist organization? UNICEF has been here when there was no bokoharam and will be here when bokoharam is no more. I am too sure that some of the vaccines you this 'mumu' was given at birth were from UNICEF intervention fund.
its even a shame on nigeria and the UN that restriction on UNICEF is announced by a mere Nigeria Army, not foreign affairs ministry. with this shame ,the government is now ready to cause chaos in idp camps in the north east and make a mess of the life of the nation's children and the fight against polio.

This man is NOT an example of a true father... Why? Because he exchanged his son's loyalty, confidence and trust with betrayal..
Its clear that the son is a terrible cheat and thief.. But for this man to report his child to the authorities and still collect ''cash reward'' for exposing his offspring, then it makes it clear that the father didn't report his son out of goodwill but because they were not able to settle amiciably.. It's clear that the percentage he wanted was not accepted by the son.
MODIFIED: It's crazy that a lot of people do not get me.. I am NOT supporting the son.. I am just condemning the step the father took.. You cannot report your child who ''willing" told you he bought a house and still be receiving cash gift for that.. it's terrible. Report but don't receive alert.. Receive only accolades.. That boy would definitely go to prison because nigeria does not really recognise his age as a "juvenile".. And the father would end up buying suya and gin with the money while his son rots in jail

Did you go to school at? where in the body of the write up did you read that the father was rewarded. That father is a good father and should be celebrated. The sun's motive for telling his father was not out of loyalty. He knew his father's stance on such issue but tried to deceive the father into believing that his source of money was legitimate, as he was only to have bought a a 'golden line' that receives golden alert. probably the father is not educated and he thought he will be lost in his explanation.

Politics / Lagos Apc Primaries: The Way Nigeria Rewards Pragmatic Leadership by superpundit: 3:05pm On Oct 02, 2018
Recent events unfolding within the Lagos state APC makes my heart to bleed for Nigeria. it beats my imagination how a people chose allegiance to leadership over a workable functional system. I pondered, so it is only one man who has power to define what is good and what is bad. if something is bad and the man says it is good, everyone turns around and say it is good. if something is good in the eye of everyone, and the man says it is bad, they all turn around and say it is bad. That is the best description one can give to the situation in Lagos.
The party leadership and structure in Lagos APC has indeed betrayed the people of Lagos. it is left to Lagosians to determine whether they love to keep APC trusted with their destiny.
I assume the message Lagos APC is sending to Nigerians and to anyone who is interested in leadership is that on the hierarchy of priority of a Governor, the interest of the citizens should come last, after that of the God father and his political hanger-on's.
Governor Akinwunmi Ambode has been butted out of his seat for placing the interest of the citizens side-a-side that of the Godfather. i wonder what would have happened to him had he out rightly jettisoned the interest of the Godfather.
Left to me, i don't know what lessons we are teaching the young generations coming behind out of what is currently happening in Lagos.
I am not supporting Akinwunmi Ambode, but the point i stand to make in this matter is about the interest of Lagos. So it is beyond Tinubu, and the onus falls on the Lagos people to show Tinubu in this 2019 general election that this is about a people and not a Godfather.
Failure of the citizens and residents of Lagos to wave red flag to Tinubu, the APC and their political cohorts, will definitely spell doom for the state in the near future.

Bukola Saraki has again made a mess of internal party democracy by imposing a returnee taxi driver on members of the PDP in kwara state as the party's guber candidate for forth coming 2019 election. He inadvertently selected a candidate without a political base and structure, and very low acceptance and followership among the political class in the state and the electorates. Rasak Atunwa if elected as a governor would by implication be subservient to Bukola forever.
But Thank God, Bukola is on his way out of the political spectrum of kwara politics by all indications on ground, so Kwarans need not lose their sleep this time around over whoever Saraki chooses this time around. Bukola has committed political harakiri would soon become part of history as the delinquent and arrogant son of 'Baba Oloye' who failed to learn from his father.

Tambuwal admitted this while addressing different associations of students and youths, as well as resident communities, who paid him a solidarity visit on Wednesday.

“I have been receiving advices and encouragement from our leaders, peoples across the country and even from abroad to contest for presidency and this pressure is being mounting.

“It Is not my making but the quantum of pressure from every where because of leadership gap in the country,” he said.

Tambuwal also said he would make his position public on the matter “in days to come”.

The Governor recently defected from the All Progressives Congress (APC) to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Politics / Re: Ademola Adeleke: Certificate Not Compulsory For Governorship Candidates – Court by superpundit: 8:18pm On Aug 09, 2018
Gucciblog:
An Osun State High Court presided over by Justice David Oladimeji yesterday dismissed a suit challenging the eligibility of Senator Ademola Adeleke as the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the September 22, 2018 governorship election in the state, saying that the constitution does not state that a candidate for the office of the governor must possess a certificate.

The plaintiffs, Rasheed Olabayo and Oluwaseun Idowu who are members of PDP in Osun had dragged Adeleke to court claiming that he did not possess the required certificate that qualifies him to contest governorship election in the state and urged the court to restrain the party from presenting him to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) as candidate of the party.

They also urged the court to restrain INEC from accepting Adeleke from PDP as its candidate on the basis that the Senator was not qualified, quoting Section 177 (d) of the 1999 Constitution.
In his judgement, Justice Oladimeji said the claims of the plaintiffs that Adeleke does not possess school certificate cannot disqualify him from contesting the election because the constitution does not state that a candidate for the office of the governor must possess a certificate.

Justice Oladimeji said the constitution only stipulated that the candidate must be educated up to secondary school level and that the plaintiff also admitted that the Senator attended Ede Grammar School.
The judge struck out the case saying that whether Adeleke obtained a certificate or not cannot be used to disqualify him and that the fact that he attended the school is enough for him to contest.

From Zenithnaija.com

More below:

https://zenithnaija.com/ademola-adeleke-certificate-not-compulsory-for-governorship-candidates-court/

To me the judgement is a sound one. A judgement is expected to be based on prayers of a litigant as presented before a court. The arguments of the litigants was that even though Adeleke went to Ede Grammar School, he did not finish. So the litigant needs to provide evidence that Adeleke did not finish to certificate level, which they failed to proof. Adeleke had approached the school and the school provided the certificate and Testimonial which shows that he had education to certificate level. That puts to rest that contention that Adeleke did not finish the school. The question that in contentious is what is a certificate level? by my understanding, I assume a certificate level should be final year. So if Adeleke carries a testimonial that says he finished in that school, then he has satisfied the constitutional provision. What we call certificate in todays world is actually the result of your academic performance, and it is immaterial whether he had good grade since the constitution did not specify any benchmark performance as essential. So I strongly believe that that for those who attended secondary school, a either a testimonial or certificate could stand as attestation of attendance, whereas for those who never attended a secondary school, but sat for private exams like GCE, a certificate would suffice.
in that regard, I do not really see the way the judge erred in his judgement, the constitution appeared to have a lacuna on
it meant by ' having secondary education up to school certificate level'. As it were today, a JSS 3 certification is a secondary school certificate level. I would have wished that had the litigants had enough time at their disposal, to proceed to higher courts so that so that the soundness of this judgement could be further tested.

This is an important judgement that has implication even on the contentious issues on PMB's certificate issues and many others.

but the judge went further to say that he noticed that a lot of discrepancies existed in the document submitted by Adeleke, but the court will not dabbled into what does not concern it, since an allegation of forgery was not levelled against Adeleke by the litigants in their prayers before the court.
Those who are following the case would realise that a new case has been filed before the court.
Politics / Re: Timi Frank Exposes Fresh Plot To Arrest Saraki by superpundit: 1:20am On Jul 26, 2018
SteveAde123:
PRESS RELEASE

TIMI Frank exposes fresh plot to arrest Saraki

Former Deputy National Publicity Secretary of the All Progreasives Congress (APC), Comrade Timi Frank, has raised an alarm over a fresh plot to arrest the President of the Senate, Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki, on the orders of the Inspector General of Police, Ibrahim Idris in connivance with the presidency.

Frank in a statement in Abuja said he has reliable information that the IGP has ordered operatives of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) to raid Saraki’s residence any moment from this night and effect his arrest.

He described the plot as an act of desperation and utter wickedness by the IGP who is overly eager to redeem his image following the failure of the police to prevent Saraki from attending the sitting of the Senate on Tuesday where 15 APC lawmakers defected to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Frank said that the Presidency is equally anxious to get back at Saraki over the defections and therefore has mandated the IGP to ensure his arrest and detention simply to embarrass him.

“Recall that the police on Tuesday morning laid

siege on the residence of the President of the Senate and that of his deputy in a bid to arrest and prevent them from attending plenary. Saraki was able to escape and presided over the Senate.

“Following the development the presidency summoned the IGP and after berating him for failing to gag Saraki, gave him a fresh ultimatum to arrest Saraki using every power at his disposal.

“This act of desperation by the IGP, backed by the presidency against Saraki is condemnable as it has no place in democracy.

“I hereby call on all Nigerias and members of the international community to rise in unison to condemn this act of tyranny and barbarity being perpetrated against the President of the Senate by the present administration using the police.

“As you read this statement the SARS may already be storming the residence of the President of the Senate and I want to call on

Nigerians to hold the IGP and the presidency responsible should any harm befall him following the plot to invade his residence in the dead of the night,” Frank said.

He added that Saraki is a respectable and responsible leader who cannot hurt a fly, saying all efforts being made by this administration through the police to tie the Offa Robbery allegations on him will once again collapse like the CCT trial.

“They are only out to victimize Saraki for being the only responsible voice in this administration. They know that their allegations cannot withstand legal scrutiny, therefore they want to intimidate, embarrass, arrest and treat him like a common criminal.

“But I am rest assured that their present satanic plot against Saraki shall be frustrated by God who has been standing by him in the last three years,” he said.

He called on Nigerians to pray for Saraki as he faces this monumental trial once again.

Comrade Timi Frank

Former Deputy National Publicity Secretary of the APC
Abuja.

if you Timi Frank is from Kwara State, you will not write that stupid thing just ascribed to you. Do you know how many people Bukola Saraki had killed in Kwara since he came on the politi cal scene in 2003? Do you know how much of kwara's wealth this criminal has stolen? this criminal is and his cohorts are what kwarans have lived with since 2003. he has been sponsoring cultism In kwara state since he became the governor. in one of those instances, he even used the power of clemency of his office as a governor to free in chief tug who was condemned for killing of another citizen. so you must be out of your mind when you say Bukola Saraki can not hurt a fly. Do you live in kwara? that is how you people mislead Nigerians. look, if Bukola has his way today, he will kill Buhari. he has a lot of blood in his hands. he killed a police commissioner, killed many civil servants. or can he deny those boys who did the offa robbery were not his boys? if he denies it to u Nigerians, he can not tell kwarans that. kwarans knows Bukola Saraki like the palm of a hand. Timi Frank or what does he call himself, as far back as 1990, check the records very well, Bukola wall already a 419. he had a case in igbosere magistrate court where himself and Gbemi were arraigned for duping a foreigner of 510000 dollars. not only that, history of criminality runs in the family. His father, Olusola Saraki was connected to deaths of many prominent Ilorin sons too numerous to mention. history has it that Olusola Saraki actually struck his wealth when he murdered Gobir, an Ilorin born federal permanent secretary whom he Olusola saraki was serving as a business front.
The greatest disservice PMB can do against the people of Kwara and Nigerian youths is to fail to destroy Bukola Saraki. infact he must use every extra judicial means if necessary to destroy the calamity called Bukola Saraki. if this nation makes a mistake and allow Bukola to achieve his inordinate ambition of rising to this country's leadership, even our unborn children will ask us question as to why we allowed this calamity to befall the nation. Goodluck Jonathan made this error, PMB must not make same.
for the records, I am not a follower of PMB and I ddnt vote for him in 2015 and will not vote for him in 2019. But he will go down in anals of history of kwara people if he helps to destroy Bukola Saraki and avenge the death of the victims of offa bank robbery. for Timi Frank, he should for another issue to employ in settling issues with APC and PMB, as the Bukola Saraki kite will never fly.

Family / Re: My Husband's Pride Wants To Ruin Our Home by superpundit: 2:47pm On Jul 15, 2018
HEseesall:
I had to open this account for anonymity
I'm in a dilemma, let me start like this, when i and my husband first got married we did a joint business that fetched us a huge amount of money, the aim was to build a house, when we got the money, he decided to use his' for his parents (i had no problem with that) then mine for what we wanted to use it for

Two weeks ago we had a major misunderstanding, it was soo intense to the extent that he told me to park out of the house, in the heat of things i told him that cannot be possible that the house is in my name, he was shocked, saying it is impossible we built it together that it's in his name, i had to remind him what happened then, he was furious saying it was wrong of me to use my name, that he cant believe he has been staying in a house that does not belong to him, he told his family what i did claming victim, then he packed out saying he wont come home till i change the name to his full name, i begged him to no avail, i dont even know how to tell my people, imagine if it was in his name, i and the kids would have been out of the house by now, he has requested for transfer from his office to another state cos of this, who does that?? He cant expect me to change it to his name.

Pls i need other advise to go about this, he is a good man but he feels his ego has been bruised, i need other options.

MODIFIED For those viewing this, i have made some clarifications down to page (1),

Sister don't be stupid by changing the document back to his name. He has lost his headship of the family long ago by trying to play a fast one on you, but he never knew you were wiser. For God' sake, how on earth can a man use his share of a business proceed on his parent and now rely on his wife's to build a house. A real man should be responsible for sheltering and feeding his wife. That is the ordinance of God. Any help that comes from a responsible wife should be welcomed, but honestly no man should make it mandatory on the wife.
For your husband, the fact that he doesn't even know the house was not in his name shows that he is not a responsible man. who supervised the construction of the house? abeg sister, don't be stupid. if you change the name, the man will one day chase u out just like he did in this instance

Politics / Re: Fayose Under Fire For Saying He Won’t Receive PMB Today by superpundit: 3:32pm On Jul 09, 2018

what is wrong about not receiving PMB. The custom of receiving a president when on a visit to a state is only tenable when the president is on official trip to the state. Even at that it is not written anywhere in Nigeria's law that a president must be received. In this instance, the president is on a private visit, and so the Governor has a discretion to receive him or not. it is in a lazy country that a president wants everyone to come and greet him, carry his umbrella, his bag and if possible feed him. Ekiti state is part of Nigeria and part of the president's jurisdiction. Does he need anyone to welcome him when on a tour of his jurisdiction? I remember late Bola Ige said he was stunned when as a Minister of state for Power, his staff brought him #300k as his tour allowance for touring power installation inside Abuja. He said he challenged them that is this how you people spend Nigeria's money. In any civilised work, a president making such political trip to a campaign rally like Ekiti would be asked to bear cost of fuelling for his aircraft and allowances for his aircrew. In Nigeria, we make thin God out of our leaders.

Politics / Oniyangi, The Emerging Dark Horse In Kwara Politics by superpundit: 11:43pm On Jun 15, 2018
It was Maria Isabel Aldinhas Ferreira who wrote on the role played by the ‘street’ as the ultimate locus of political expression and interaction when political institutions fail to respond to the community’s incorporated beliefs and deep expectations.

The emphasis in this thought is on the shift of the ‘locus’ from the ‘cabinet room’ to the ‘street’, when cabinet room outcomes no longer have positive impacts on the common man, when policy statements become attempts to placate the citizens than a move to serve them, when propaganda becomes the hallmark by color-coating system failures, and when share greed takes the order of the day at the cabinet room resulting in excruciating pains inflicted on the citizenry.

Politics / Kingibe Betrayed June 12: Why Give Him An Award? by superpundit: 11:02am On Jun 09, 2018
Nigerians easily forget history. or perhaps we do not care about things around us. The declaration of June 12 as the nation's new democracy day has been applauded by Nigerians across the nation. The government in recognition of the contribution and dedication of MKO Abiola to the course of democracy also gave an award of GCFR to him posthumously. an award was also given to Ambassador Babagana Kingibe. Ever since the announcement of the award, I have been at a crossroad as to what actually the purpose of the award. was it actually because MKO and Kingibe won the election or because they stood for the protection of the mandate Nigerians gave to them. I assume it is because of the latter. If I am right, then I do not think Ambassador Babagana Kingibe deserve the award for obvious reasons. history made us to know that Ambassador Kingibe abandoned the cause of June 12, abandoned the mandate given by the Nigerian people and proceeded to serve under Abacha's military government. Abacha was the one under Babangida's government that deployed the military to crush Nigerians protesting June 12 election on the street of Lagos. Kingibe picked up a ministerial appointment under the same Abacha. I am therefore surprised that Kingibe is offered an award for June 12. it shows that Nigerian government is a government that does not know it onions. it also shows that Kingibe is a man that lacks conscience and is ready to reap where he ddnt sow. Well he has even proceeded after that episode and in this government to play ignoble roles in government. what a shame.

@POLITICSNGR
Governor of Kogi state, Yahaya Bello has dared ex-president, Olusegun Obasanjo and his party, ADC to show the Nigerian public their presidential candidate.

While reacting to Obasanjo’s announcement on the transformation of his political movement into a political party, the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Bello said the APC is well prepared to slug it out with the new party in the 2019 general elections.

Bello’s challenge on Obasanjo was made at a stakeholders’ forum organized in Lokoja recently. He said;

"Let us see who they will present to contest against President Muhammadu Buhari, our God-given leader, whom US President Donald Trump, even referred to as Sir."

He added;

"We are going to retire these old and bad politicians in 2019. It is just like the President said, ‘if we don’t kill corruption, corruption will kill Nigeria.’ So also, if we don’t retire these old and bad politicians, good politicians will be sent away."

Ode, fool and idiot. Even President Bill Clinton address Osama Bin Laden as Mr Bin Laden. A police man in the western world will continue to address a suspect as 'SIr' even as the suspect approaches the gate of prison.

Bishopsgate:
The US mission in Nigeria has said all enquiries on the Tucson purchase should b3 addressed to the Nigerian Govt.

I had in the past mentioned that the figures did not add up and that we coughed up cash today to get even less value by 2020. What do you think?

"The Nigerian government is enmeshed in a controversy over purchase price of the aircraft which is meant to effectively decimate Boko Haram - Depending on the configuration, each A29 Super Tucano aircraft is reported to cost between $9 and $18 million Following the controversy surrounding the purchase of 12 A29 Super Tucano aircraft by the Nigeria government, the United States has rebuffed enquiries on the purchase price of the aircraft. The Nigerian government is currently enmeshed in the controversy over the manner of payment for the aircraft without appropriation by National Assembly, a development that stirred mutterings by legislators who want the president sanctioned over the issue"

there are several other charges such as cost of training the pilots because this is the first time Nigeria airforce will be flying american warplanes in known history, armunition for the jets, spare parts and so on
