Another lie from always lying iPods.

1. They lied about the Biafrau.d visa.

2. they lied about the Biafrau.d line that will be flying their gullible villagers from the land of gully erosion to obodo oyinbo,

3. They lied that they have a scheduled meeting with UN in June of 2015. Up till today, the chest beating lots have never deemed it fit to tell the world the outcome f their imaginary meeting with an imaginary UN.

4. They lied that AU invited to grace a session. Up till this moment, we have never seen any session of such.

5. They lied that Obama, Hollande, Cameron and Putin called PMB to warn him on Kanu's case. Up till this day, the Bleaching Yellow Pawpaw aka Our Dilector is still caressing bedbugs in kuje prison and eating uncooked beans.

Politics › We've Been Visiting Nnamdi Kanu In Prison — UK Govt by superstar1(op): 5:15am On Apr 03, 2016
The United Kingdom says it has been visiting the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, Nnamdi kanu, in prison.

A spokesman for the British High Commission, Mr. Joe Abuku, said this in an email sent to our correspondent on Friday.

Abuku said this in response to an email regarding Kanu’s letter to the High Commission.

The statement read, “We have provided assistance to Mr. Kanu since his arrest in October last year, including visiting him regularly in prison and attending court appearances in an observation capacity.”

The detained Biafran agitator, who is also a British citizen, had written a letter through his lawyer, Ifeanyi Ejiofor, that the British government should not abandon him.

He had said, “It is repeating the obvious to state that our client is a full British citizen, by virtue of which position he is entitled to all rights, privileges and protection, guaranteed under the British laws and conventions.”

He also argued that the President Muhammadu Buhari-led administration had violently abused his fundamental human rights through his prolonged detention in prison custody, adding that there was no way he would get a fair hearing.

Politics › Ambode: $1.65bn Lagos Lekki Seaport For Completion 2019 by superstar1(op): 10:33pm On Apr 01, 2016
Governor Akinwunmi Ambode of Lagos State has disclosed that the $1.65 billion Lekki Deep Seaport will be completed in 2019.

The governor spoke on Thursday at the formal unveiling of the Office of Overseas Affairs and Investment, otherwise known as Lagos Global in Lagos, Southwest Nigeria.

Ambode said that the efforts put in place so far have ensured that the state remains the desired business haven, attracting massive Foreign Direct Investments (FDI) such as the $1.65 billion Lekki Deep Seaport.

He assured that the seaport would be completed in 2019 and that upon completion, it would be the deepest seaport in Sub-Saharan Africa, adding that the Badagry Creek Industrial Park, a $1.3billion investment meant for completion in 2018 and the $12 billion Dangote Refinery and Petrochemical Park were among other investments coming to the State.

The governor reeled out the numerous investment opportunities that abound in the state to would-be investors in critical sectors such as Power, Agriculture, Transportation, Health, Tourism, Housing, ICT and Manufacturing, just as he assured that the state is open more than ever before for greater business.

Ambode, who was represented by the Secretary to the State Government, SSG, Tunji Bello, said in anticipation of the increased socio-economic activities, his administration has resolved to prioritise the achievement of the four pillars of the Lagos State Development Plan (2012-2015) which included economic development, infrastructural development, social development and security, and sustainable environment.

The Lagos Global, which is an initiative of the Ambode administration, is a one-stop shop designed to encourage ease of doing business and help to turn Lagos into Africa’s model megacity and global economic and financial hub that is safe, secure, functional and productive.

The Governor recalled his inaugural speech on 29 May, 2015, where he stated the commitment of his administration to make Lagos an investment destination of choice by creating a favourable environment for local and Foreign Direct Investment.

“As the world continues to acknowledge Lagos as a regional financial hub, we as government have demonstrated the commitment to strengthen this position through deliberate policies aimed at improving the business climate in our state.

“In this regard, we have successfully placed Lagos on investors’ radar by putting in place effective legal and regulatory frameworks such as the Land Reform Act, Double Taxation treaties, Limited Liability Reviews and the development of Free Trade Zones. Likewise, the on-going judicial reform is aimed at strengthening our laws for the protection of enterprise.

“Similarly, the conscious efforts of our administration at public infrastructure development and maintenance as indicated by an efficient Bus Rapid Transit(BRT), transporting over 200,000 passengers daily, functional Integrated Power Projects, enhanced security and access roads to sea and airports among others, have underscored our determination to make Lagos a functional megacity,” he said.

Special Adviser to the Governor on Overseas Affairs and Investment, Professor Ademola Abass said the office was created by the current administration to act as one-stop shop with the mandate of promoting foreign investment into the state and managing export our of the state.

He said the office also has the mandate to manage foreign investment transaction and ensure that would-be investors enjoy seamless and hurdle-free experience by providing first class service delivery to them right from the point of initial enquiry down to the setting up and running of businesses in the state thus eliminating difficulties and bureaucracies often associated with multi-agencies handling of investments.

Professor Pat Utomi, economic expert said the creation of Lagos Global was a major step towards transforming the state to modern city-state just like the advanced ones in the world.

He said Lagos economy must therefore be a 24/7 economy, and that the growth of the state requires significant cooperation from neighbouring states.

Utomi said Lagos offers hope for rapid growth of the country in the sense that it has the capacity to serve as the yard-stick to measure and encourage development, but that there has to be a concerted effort to make the state a more attractive idea of a developmental state, and that there must be a well done plan to round up everything that Lagos represents in terms of possibilities through a branding process.

From what you have typed you have made it clear you are in agreement that taxation is a necessary evil and a common practice.

What you are at odds with is what had been applicable beforehand, but according to this new government there is a change which would bring in accountability and true governance. Where the people are the bosses and would need max efficient use of public funds.

Maybe PDP would come along in 2019 and campaign to relief all taxes and give tax breaks to the middle upper class.

Someone complained of being charged for bank transactions 50 naira, and I'm amazed because every time I use an ATM machine I get charged about 10 cents and I have a bank levy of 23 euro or so yearly. If I own a cheque book that's another matter.

If I use my bank card abroad on certain ATM machines or POS it's a 2-4 euro charge
Stop wasting your precious time lecturing some of those clowns.

Someone was complaining about his ban bank charges one day and was misyarning about how that cannot happen in America. I looked at him from head to toe and shook my head. Bank of America charges $12 monthly as maintenance fee, for using human teller to deposit or withdraw you will be be charged $8, while using your ATM Card on other bank's ATMs is $2.50. Copy of your statement of account is $3-5 per copy.

Nigerians are just funny. They want the best of services but they are looking for NGO to render such to them.

How is payment of VAT or Payee or land use charges double taxation? They all served different purposes. Our VAT is one of the lowest in the world. Payee is being paid all over world.land use charge is being paid all over the world under different nomenclatures.

I will rather pay more tax, which will reduce my disposable income if i am assured of good roads, electricity, good hospitals, potable water, security and better education.

The cost of providing all that on my own out weighs the tax i should have paid in multiple folds.

Bros we are not talking of PDP/APC. Students abroad are suffering and dropping out of school because of PMB policies. Those with politicians fathers are living large. It is only those with civil servant fathers or on Government scholarships that are facing the hardship. Let me tell you this some of us careless the religion, tribes or what ever of the president. We demand for policies that has human face.
It is obvious that you are being selfish here and you careless about the others staying in the country.

Your country is broke and our ability to earn foreign exchange has dwindled because of the fall in oil price. That has made the available USD within the countries to be lower than usual and the demand is still the same or it has even increased. Towards the tail end of last administration, looters converted their loots into Dollars and either wired it abroad or kept it home. The late economic polices of the govt and passage of budget also impacted on the confidence of foreign investors in our economy. There was a huge capital flight before election of 2015, because investors were not sure of what we happen to Nigeria and they have not returned ever since(the better for us). All these contributed immensely to the availability of dollars within the economy.

Where do you want govt or CBN to get USD for your school fees, to the detriment of the manufacturing sector that might need raw materials for the goods they produced within the country? Majority of them have started sourcing for local content as raw materials. When the desirable becomes unavailable, the available becomes the desirable. The products of all imported items have sky rocketed. The better for us. We are gradually turning back to our made-in-Nigeria.

Your country is wasting a whooping USD20bn annually on school fees payment!!!! People are now paying for elementary school fees in dollars.

The children of the people lounging overseas are majorly children of looters and God help them if the hands of the law gets to their parents. The hardship and uncertainty is palpable, no doubt, but we are simply paying the price our stupidity of yester years.

Though most banks are still bidding for school fees payments for people outside the country. They cannot guarantee immediate success but they always keep bidding till your request become successful.

I will advise you to tell your parents to go to bank and collect dollar denominated credit card and let them send it to you. With that, you will hedge against this temporary madness.

The country is on the right path and things can only get better. We are making the hard decisions we should have taken at least 7-8 years ago, if not 20..

You seem not to understand the situation. Nigerians having paying taxes before now but what have they gained from it? For example, Nigerians have been paying light bill for light they did not consume so why will they not want to pay SMS tax? They issue is that govt has been taking the citizens for a ride. If you give me 24hrs light like you have in Europe and tell me to pay whatever tax, in fact i will be tge first person to go and pay because I'm seeing the result. If i was govt, i will first of all earn the trust of citizens with the little i am getting before asking people to pay more.
I disagree.

The only people paying tax are the people with gainful employment. and corporate bodies. Even the corporate bodies under report their performances.

At best, others pay levies.

Nice question.

We can contribute 20bn per month for govt as at today because there is no one on planet earth that can dispute the fact that we have strong men of integrity and worthy character as Number 1 and 2 citizens of this blessed country. Once you get the leadership right, all other things will fall into place with time.

Taxation should not be our problem, Our problem should be for every increase in taxation, the govt must enter into social contract that is legally binding with its people, clearly stating what will be done within a time frame and if not done, the people also have the right to stop paying. Simple.

That is building of trust between the governed and the governors.

Just 1 week outside the country will show you how much taxes people outside the country pay every month, why their govt does not joke with the welfarism of their people, while things appear to be working and why their populace are very much interested in their politics and governance matter.

Can you imagine one id1ot of a politician coming to my hood to be doling out public money after all and sundry have been taxed and he will not be stoned or lynched to death?

I might be wrong. but we have taken this route that has led us to nowhere severally and it is better for us to change our tactics.
