Every IGBO MAN or BOY is always ahead of You,keep hating,I schooled in Benin, and I know how Bini Boys are useless and Lazy,We don't want them in Biafra!
To y1bos, everybody is always termed useless and lazy and they are the only hardworking ones and yet they have the highest level of criminal tendencies and they have brought more bad names to this country than anyone.

If being criminal minded is hardwork in the lexicon of y1bos, sane , honourable and God fearing ethnicities without a mentality of get-rich-at-all-cost, will rather embrace the laziness with their 2arms.

Bunch of clowns.

angry thanks for the clarification. ..but my question is why are the software owners entitled to part of the 1%...shouldn't they just be paid royalty and small maintanace feehuh?
It is called service charge because a financial service was rendered by the company and and labourer is worth of his wages.

Why are you be charged 65naira for usage o ATMs that is n that that your bank?

Why are the merchants being charged 1.25% when their customer use POSs?

Why are usually charged when you make transfers to other banks?

Those are all financial services you must pay for because financial institutions are not NGOs.

Also remember that the CBN, banks and NIBSS share your 65 naira, likewise POS charges and transfer charges, which is also applicable in this case.

It pisses me off when some id1ots hammer on freedom of speech and expression, as if rights and freedom are absolute!!!!!

There are responsibilities attached to rights and freedom and once you fail to live up to those responsibilities, your right ceases.

There is no constitution in the world or UN Charter that gives you the right and freedom to commit treasonable felony. There is no right in this galaxy that give you the right to preach hate and incite killing of others.

Once you have decided that is what you want to use your right of speech, freedom of expression an right of association for, then your right ceases in itself and the full weight of what is called Constituted Authority must be made to pound your head.

Jog from Aba to Timbuktu or do early morning exercise from Onitsha to Kandahar, that will not bring out the Ayatollah of alaigbo, the Lunatic Albino god of the igbos aka The Dilector, out of the dungeon of DSS.

Superstar, I respect the opinion of others but that should not be at the expense of wholesale lies being told against my person and utterances. You go and read the particular post to see if I ever made Kashamu a a SW leadership "benchmark" or "sullied" the name of men I have singularly always defended here.

If you agree I never implied that then do the right thing and speak to the person in the wrong and not me. I won't tolerate lies against me or anyone spinning what I wrote for their own need to play to the gallery. It is plain wrong and nairaland ERS should show the readiness to call a spade a spade here. No one is above criticism here or above the implied rules of our association which is that wrong against others is wrong . Anyway let us move on. I have made my point.
It's obvious you and Katz have your differences. However, that should not deter you from saying your mind the way you see things. In the nearest future, we might all realise you were right afterall.

I quite agree that Katz inferred things you were not saying, which might be due to how is mind processed the information.

We disagree to agree. We all want a better yoruba nation that ww can be proud of and that would be the envy of all.

We cannot tell who is reading our posts. One or Two of our leaders or aides can learn from it and can go ahead to make necessary reforms for our society. Let us keep saying things the way we see it. Blunt and bold.

Gbawe:
Thank you Dayo !!! The point I make about Kashumu et al is what you correctly interpreted because I wrote without any ambiguity that would lead anyone to believe I am "like a parent scaring children with bogeyman names". For this who truly know SW politics and are willing to say the truth regardless of whose Ox is gored, when has politics on the ground ever favoured the So Yinka type ahead if the Kashumu until Tinubu came along? This was my simple point till Katsumoto, for whatever reason, decided to lend wholesale misinterpretation to what I wrote.

This is why I sometimes stay off threads like this because they become an arena for for some to attempt to shine at the ezpense of others rather than an honest platform to use in seeing and saying the truth for the betterment of Yoruba land and indeed Nigeria.
You cannot stay off the thread Gbawe. You want the best for the yoruba nation, likewise majority of us ventilating here.

You have your opinion and others have theirs, whether based on prejudice or not. We all respect each others views. All of us cannot sleep and face the same side and likewise there is nobody that bears ''We''. Collective reasoning brings out the best out of a society.

Awolowo wasn't even a socialist like the Soviet type of socialism, the Lenins of this world, or the Karl Marx of this world. So he would've thrived in modern times since the most developed countries in the world in Scandinavia use the same model. And most European countries are welfare states.

Also, capitalism isn't the problem if well managed. But is Tinubu just a capitalist, or more of an emperor who thrives on nepotism and cronyism? - I'll let you answer that.
Awolowo was a socialist. He developed his form of home grown socialism that is not in any way like that of the Communist countries.

Tinubu is not an emperor yet. For now, he is just more of an imperial capitalist that might become a monstrous emperor, if care is not taken.

They said Tinubu is simply operating in a system he has no control of and we ask them Didn't Awo advocate federalism as the only basis for equitable national integration? Why hasn't the Messiah done the same?

Awo was a welfarist. Most of the companies Awo founded were not for personal gains but for the people.Odua Investment company is a testament to that. Can the same be said about the messiah? How many of us here have gained from Tinubu's businesses?

Is political presence at the national level an achievement?

If the messiah was that great, how come his policies, ideas, political success haven't impacted the average Yoruba citizen or the South-west?

The only person I can put in the same league as Awo is Lateef jakanade.
.
You should realise that the ideologies of the 2 men are different. Awo was a socialist, which is a typical yoruba structural orientation and ideology while Tinubu is a capitalist to the core.

The difference in ideology explains the achievements of both politically and in terms of visible development.

Will it have been possible for Awo to achieve some of his welfarist and socialist ideologies in modern times? I strongly doubt it.

Will Tinubu have gotten away with his imperialistic capitalist tendencies in the contemporary times of Awo? Capital N and O.

@ Gbawe,

What is your thought and possibly that of APC's on the restructuring of this country politically?

Tinubu and APC did not believe in the last National Jamboree/Confab (i did not either), is there any likelihood of APC organising a people oriented Sovereign National Conference devoid of ''No-Go-Area Clause''?
PoliticsRe: Yoruba Commonwealth and Politics by superstar1(m): 3:20pm On Nov 17, 2015
Politically, Tinubu did what was necessary to save the yoruba nation from the onslaught of a corrupt party. Maybe he did it to protect his personal interest too. Most likely yes. We cannot deny the fact that he seemingly saved the day.

Gbawe et al should realise that we yorubas are better than this and we are demanding for better governance and leadership. If Tinubu wants to be a leader, he should learn to be selfless now because he has the money and the influence already. I do not have any iota of respect for Afenifere (since the demise of Abraham Adesanya). In recent times, there is not a single instance anyone can point out to, that they put the yoruba nation ahead of their selfish interest. Not one. They have turned themselves to ''We vs Tinubu Group''. They can never be relevant in the scheme of things again, till when they reform themselves and renew their conscience and re-awaken the pan-yorubaism they were meant to stand for.

I will not hold Tinubu responsible for Governors that are not performing because you can only force a donkey to the stream, you might not be able to force it to drink the water.

In fairness, the PDP governors had access to more funds -- ecological fund, excess crude oil funds etc which the APC guys might have used more judiciously. However, my grievance with APC governors is why on earth will you put the state in so much debt and there is no development on ground that is commensurate with the debt profile. That is criminal and satanic. It is better for you steal public fund and not throw the state into the valley of debt, than for you not to be able to account for funds you borrowed in the name of the state. In the case of the latter, at least the generations yet unborn do not have a burden, while that it is the case in the former.

How can anyone then tell me an Aregbe is better then OGD, when I can see projects completed by OGD, though he was a looter?

As for me I am just waiting to see the miracle the synergy between the APC controlled central government and the states can achieve, before passing my final verdict.

Sir, I think the problem with these politicians is that: a lot of them don't actually go there to solve anything. More time they see politics as a business to maximise profits - and not a service to the people.

Once you have folks with a skewed mentality like that, and followers who don't really understand anything apart from praise-singing once loose change swings to their way - nothing is going to change. The whole country - leaders and followers - need a change of mentality/drive.

I agree partially with this. I continue to maintain that in a yoruba only nation, old feuds and rivalries will resurface. We are talking about a yoruba nation where osun and oyo had to be given separate states, where Ijebu agitates for its own state. The same Yoruba that the most it came to being unified was during Awo's time which ironically was also a combustible era.

I am for regionalism/conferedation. The most progress the Yoruba made was in the 12 years it was a separate region.
In as much as there will still be sub-unit of governance under the regional or confederacy system such as States, LGs, kingdoms or whatever we decide shall be our sub-units, i do not think we will not be able to manage our differences for the achievements of greater good of the yoruba race effectively.

Their sub-group is Okun family, a branch of the Igbomina group of yorubas.

Nigeria wont go far if the backup to oil are other mineral resources. The thinking should be more along creativity lines visavis Germany, Switzerland, korea etc
Yeah today's most valuable resource all over the world is the human capacity of any nation. That is the strength of Germany Korea, Switzerland, Israel and even India now.

As a Yoruba Nation we can never be found wanting in this arena. People on this thread have posted profiles of yorubas with incredible and rich profiles, both at home and in diaspora.

Before this can be tapped and harnessed effectively, a system of governance that makes us to be in control of our destiny must be in place first. How many of those YID (Yorubas In Diaspora) would like to come back and serve Nigeria in this messed up state. They might be more than willing to serve a Yoruba Nation/Region because that is their root, even if they will not be paid.
PoliticsRe: Yoruba Commonwealth and Politics by superstar1(m): 10:47pm On Nov 16, 2015
Katsumoto:
I don't share your optimism re dried up recenue. Just remember all those African states such as Mali, Burkina, Senegal that have no rich mineral resources. Also remember a perpetually poor man can handle poverty better than a man who was rich once.
We have untapped resources and even our human capacity is a resource on it's own. There is therefore a cause for optimism, rather than being gloomy and downcast.

We have Gas, Gold, Bitumen, Limestone etc, the baba of them all -- good and fertile land with huge untapped potential in tourism.

If Israel could have 1/5th of those, they would have turned that desert into heaven.

We need to find a way to decentralise government first and put a stop to this barbaric dishing out of ''Egbo 90 and Ewa 10'' that FG does every month for the states, like boarding house students. It encourages looting because it is a free fund and it also promotes laziness and mediocrity.

Katsumoto:
Exactly

Things are bad now with free money from the center. What happens when free money disappears??

Yoruba ronu
Necessity is the mother of invention. Dried up free funds will lead to deep thinking that will blow away mind to produce superlative ideas. failure to do so, is an invitation to annihilation of our nation or servitude to only God knows whom.

We are at that stage now.

Japan had to think out of the box, after the bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki.

Germany had to after world war 2.

As at 1950, China and the Asian Tigers were commonwealth nations of nobodies.

We need a leadership that can make us get our act together, galvanise us to make the necessary sacrifices for posterity sake and drive us to do the unthinkable and achieve the unbelievable.
PoliticsRe: Yoruba Commonwealth and Politics by superstar1(m): 10:21pm On Nov 16, 2015
Katsumoto:
So your position is that these governors should continue to borrow billions to pay salaries??

You continue to overlook my points.

1. Politicians in the US actually deliver which is unlike naija policians
2. The current situation isn't sustainable. We already have several states that can't pay salaries
3. There is wastage, mismanagement and corruption. Eliminating these would free up funds

Nigeria can not progress if things don't change. You can't expect things to improve while expecting the status quo to remain. It is that simple. There is no need to re-invent the wheel. Nigeria need only look at what obtains in developed nations. I don't buy all these 'Nigerian factor' excuses.

Otherwise lets just wait until things get really bad.
Something is certain. There has to be a paradigm shift. The model we are running it's obviously not sustainable. It can only lead to one thing and which is calamity that can result into all of us being ship away into slavery, if care is not taken.

Our leaders need to take the hard decisions for us to have a better tomorrow for ourselves and a greater future for our kids. The masses cum followers should also realise these are desperate times that calls for unusual and desperate acts.

Those desperate acts include cutting the civil service to reduce the over head cost, having a leaner, efficient and mor productive workforce, stoppage of stomach infrastructure, wasting of public funds on pilgrimage, construction of 1km of road for 1billion like in my state (Osun), nepotism. etc

We only need one God fearing, selfless and sincere creative brain to turn things around. Just 1. We need a ruthless and passionate leadership that will be fair and justice to all and also have the balls to do the unthinkable for us to achieve the unbelievable.
