European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Who Is The Best Premiership Player Ever? by suprted(m): 6:04am On Jan 13, 2009
@ow11

don't get me wrong, Bruce was great but he only did it for about two seasons before retiring. I picked Neville for his longevity and general consistency and his ability to change his game to keep up with the ever changing premiership (probably past-it now sha).
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Who Is Really The Best Player In The World by suprted(m): 3:56am On Jan 09, 2009
Xavi is probably the best player in the world at this time. but he will never get the accolades he deserves.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Who Is The Best Premiership Player Ever? by suprted(m): 3:46am On Jan 09, 2009
Ronaldo *hiss*.

he scored 31 goals in the premiership. which is not the record. fyi, its 34 goals in a season from shearer/cole. it's also a single season performance. let him do it for 3 more years before we include him in the same breath as others.

you can't say there was a best player ever as there are many positions. like shearer for instance scored a crapload of goals but does that make him a better player than paul mcgrath or roy keane who are amongst the best in their positions?

you should do it by positions.

My top 5 in each position

Goal
Schmeichel
Seaman
Cech
Friedel
James

Defence
Adams
McGrath
Stam
Ferdinand
G. Neville *no one else stands out

Wingers
Giggs
Beckham
Ronaldo
Pires
McManaman/Ginola (tie)

Midfielders
Vieira
Keane
Scholes
Lampard
Gerrard

Fantasistas/Trequartistas (Number 10's)
Bergkamp
Zola
Cantona
Sheringham
Le Tissier (he could be in the Strikers list as well)

Strikers
Henry
Shearer
Van Nistelrooy
Cole
Ferdinand/Yorke *tie Ian Wright just misses out.

I know people will probably disagree, but i think this takes history into account.

didn't zola and mutu play together. i thought zola had one season in the abramovich era.
RomanceRe: At What Point Does A Man Begin To Feel Smouldered In A Relationship? Abeg by suprted(m): 2:08am On Jan 08, 2009
it depends on the guy, but ask yourself if you spend too much time with a guy, he can become smothered.

he needs to feel free, do stuff on his own.  if your man has opportunity to do stuff with his friends, whereby you don't call him and let him be so it doesn't feel like you're keeping tabson him.  like if he's like im going drinking with my friends, don't call him or call him when you know the pub would have closed?

if you and him give each other some space, and he says you're smothering him, then its just an excuse for him to end things and itsd not your fault.

summary:  the important thing is space

on a serious note, there's no excuse for cheating.  if you're going to be a player at least be up front about it.

RomanceRe: Guys Are Always Too Quick To Assume That We Ladies Are Crazy! by suprted(m): 2:06am On Dec 29, 2008
I haven't read the entire thread but I have to say that Women are crazy.  But not for the reasons you mentioned.  In my opinion those reasons are not unique only to women but to anyone who has been the 'endee' in a relationship.   Any guy who has been dumped without closure will probably do something crazy or at least feel like to doing something crazy.  the fact is that most guys will keep their feelings hidden, because it is the manly thing to do, so they will do big guy and not freak out or try to get closure or whatever, but guess who suffers, the next gf.  and if you have to get them on a couch with a therapist talking candidly then you will see all the unresolved relationship neuroses men have.

anyway sha. i assume women are crazy, just because you mostly are.

here are some examples of your 'insanity'.
-you are attracted to guys who are a bit arseholish.  nice guys are fun to keep around, you can have nice conversations with them, but you dont see them as man enough for you.  so you hook up with the assholes.  and then whine to the nice guys about your bfs acting like assholes.  its not logical, but thats the way it is.

-you are upset about something that a guy has done.  but instead of confronting the guy, you sulk for 3 days.

-you are upset about something, and when the guy offers to help, you get upset.  turns out, and i learned this from a girl who was reading that venus/mars book, that you don't actually want help. you want someone to sit with you in your funk basically.

-(ok this one was from a girl who was just plain insane anyway) you hold grudges against us over things that happened in your dreams.  this one girl dreamt my friend was cheating on her with her best friend and didnt talk to him for their whole weekend away.  finally in the car on the way back home, she blurts out that she "knows what he's up to with that slut." despite the fact that my friend and her best friend have never really got on.

to be fair, maybe crazy is a bit strong, but you cant deny that your behaviour is often clearly illogical.  that said, i guess that's why we can't live without you  cheesy

TravelRe: Best Country In Europe! by suprted(m): 6:03am On Dec 06, 2008
Guys I will like to add my 2 cents to this and here it goes,
a wise person says that"In theory theory and practice are the same but in practice, practical and thory are worlds apart" what is my point:
in theory, Spain is a great place to live for a black person because it is sunnier, but then if sun is the only reason you want to live in Spain why not stay in Nigeria and have it double
in theory Switzerland is beautiful and has the best banks in the world but then in practice you have to have a good living for good banks and nice environment to make sense to you,
why am I saying this? well to be honest there are only 3 places to live for Nigerians, Nigeria , US and UK . in that order every other place "na manage" and that is coming from someone who has lived in Europe for 10 years.
officially there are 3 million Nigerians in the UK but the actual figure is likely to be up to 15 million why do you think that is?. most Nigerians in UK have very nice jobs, Doctors, lawyers,Engineer(I am one) ,nurses, e.t.c,most drive very nice cars, own multiple homes and believe me if you live in a few UK cities you always have Nigerians around you or within 1 hour drive. in 10 years I have never been asked for my "papers" even once on the street and I don't know who has.
the UK government has had to close 2 camps set up by thousands of immigrants trying to "escape" from France to UK in Calais. some hide under the train and die just to escape from France to London, why do you think that is?, so why compare France to UK?
Germany? forget, I only know one person who has a reasonable job in Germany. every other person is just trying so many other things, and believe me 90% of those who "attain" German citizenship end up in UK. thats why UK never joined the common border. I even know people who have white Germans mothers or father and yet they are discriminated against because they have half black blood, they had to move to UK .
Switzerland? if you want to live there you better bring your money because you just can't get a decent job there
Spain? how many Spanish are cleaners in UK?
need I say more?
but then what do I know? like someone on this site would say
enjoy
a few points from this.

1. i dont care if i go to a place where i never see another nigerian again. if i wanted to hang around nigerians all the time, there's a place for that, it's called Nigeria.

2. i beg to differ about switzerland. the only reason i am in England is because I am not fluent enough in any of their languages to get a decent job. if you speak fluent german, french or italian the world is your oyster. also it is easier to get a job from being a student than it was here until they did that IGS thing, and even then, my friend has spent the last six months in London looking for work.

3. those cleaners are latin american not spanish.

again sha, a lot of people have different experiences. just because i've never been hassled in a swiss airport doesn't mean it doesn't happen.

not picking on you anglobabe but you listed the most countries so i'll use yours.

The best countries in europe are

1.Norway---- lovely ,people are nice, great benefit from the Govt but cold---second langauge is English

2.Denmark , lovely but cold----second langauge is English danes are a bit racist

3.Spain---- the weather is great ,the people are nice and Costa del Sol is the best place to live for me. maybe cos of the costa del sol which is a tourist area that the people were nice but those people are the most racist in europe and they don't even speak second languages

4.Sweden--- lovely but cold, second langauge is English this is the best country in europe, i would seriously not mind living here, i actually don't mind the cold

5.Switzerland- lovely and the people are nice and friendly ----second langauge is English wrong, there is no second language, each region has it's own strong language. in large cities like zurich and geneva (esp) though, you might find some people who can speak english, but its certainly not a given. PS. the swiss are extremely racist as well, and it is the hardest country to naturalise into in europe, the whole canton or whatever takes a vote on your eligibility, imagine if you've annoyed somebody before

6. France - i like the southern part eg. Nice ,Villefranche and paris

7.) Italy- its ok but i only like Florence and Rome

8.) Malta - is interesting alot of history, nice weather and the people are friendly-- second langauge is English

9.) Portugal--- is lovely but they are racist and no jobs but i like the Algarve, english is spoken there i thought the portuguese were strict but they were actually far nicer than the spanish and english is spoken far widely especially in lisbon and the algarve

10.) Monaco --- its ok but too small and very strict

11.) UK --- accomodating but too much taxe and expensive overrated but people pick it because of the language

12.) Ireland --- is great so far nice place

13.) Germany--- is nice but racist a stereotype, they are not as bad as the french, spanish, italians or swiss

14.) Holland is great and welcoming.

I belieeve you don't know how to read and comprehend duh. I clearly stated in my text (that is if you have been smart enough to read all my post before hitting your key booard)that people who get the drugs have to voluntier and not just randomly picked because they have HIV.don't you know tthat PLWA also have the right to proper medical treatment anfd life?the fact that they are living with HIV/AIDS doesnt mean that they should be used as guinea pigs the fact that a person is living with aids doesnt mean that they should be killed or administered drugs that could cause them harm when its efficacy has not been proven you stupid.
It beats me when people just think they know it all.The point I am making is not that agbalaka has the cure all I just said people who do research most of the time sollicit for funds from people and other NGO's for example Cancer and premature deliveries.Have you heard about march of dimes?go google it up they openly ask people to donate and support research to prevent premature labour and birth. Its only in nigeria stingy people like you who want to chop alone and not help the cause complain when asked to contribute money.
i can read, i just have a bullshit filter set in. i can barely see your posts. but i do know that you never have mentioned volunteers before this post so you are a liar as well as an idiot.

secondly, its suprted.

thirdly, you most definately clearly didn't read my post. where in my post did i say that Abalaka's research should not be funded? you can also test on the samples last i checked. and if people volunteer, which lets face it, if i had aids and there was a potential cure, i'd be willing to do (all those experimental drugs for e.g. heart disease, you think they just worked by magic or you think people didn't sign up for clinical trials and studies) then its not so bad, again its not like he's going kidnapping people to experiment on. if he got the funding, he could even pay them for their time.

so let me get this, the cure for the greatest scourge of our time, something that if we had the cure for, we'd become international players, something that if a drug company got the patent for, their stock would go through the roof and no one is interested? the guy can't get funding? the guy has no one to blame but himself. you can't compare him to March of Dimes (not even sure why you brought this up) as March of Dimes has previous and is an organisation and this guy is a charlatan from parts unknown.

finally, i would probably take what you said more seriously if you used punctuation and paragraphs. because your posts are the internet equivalent of those drunk tramps yelling and wandering around outside most train stations in europe.

exbogus sports management is when you manage sportsmen, like as an agent.

it might be useful, in the sense of case studies. like how some of the well known agencies (in not just sports but also entertainment) operate maybe also some type of behavioural science since you're dealing with people. apart from that, don't know what research you could use.

we should talk about our fart confessions.

my worst moment was when i need to drop a little bomb. i went walking and thank you Jesus, the whole corridor was emprty. I let one out, living a little shake with relief, it was so liberating. I then caught a whiff. 'Shit, I said,' better leave the scene of this crime. I'm walking off into the distance like a hero. unfortunately, i walk past this girl, cue me praying like mad like the smell has dissipated. It hadn't, it had basically formed an invisible wall which the girl walked into like a crash test dummy. 'Suprted!!!,' she shrieked in a strangled voice with a look somewhere between disgust and horror on her face.

LiteratureRe: Wole Soyinka And Ernest Hemingway-or-john Grisham And Stephen King by suprted(m): 6:32am On Nov 22, 2008
grisham isn't high art.  it's populist. and has its place in society.

the likes of soyinka and hemingway (and you can't compare the two really since one to my knowledge doesnt do drama) are the kind of books that if we had to make a time capsule to be buried for a millenium, they would be in it as they represent our age's achievements.  they are our homer, sophocles and virgil so to speak.

edit- for me, if i were a writer, i would prefer to write like grisham, it seems more fun and i would like people to have fun reading my books not have them assigned as homework.

LiteratureRe: John Grisham Or Sydney Sheldon by suprted(m): 6:27am On Nov 22, 2008
meh. Sidney Sheldon's work is formulaic even if it is diverse. Nigerians like it because it is usually glamorous and rags-to-riches and we eat that shit. Plus its also dated which is kinda understandable since the man was in his 90s when he passed. For instance in his last book, the Model listening to Eminem. That just seemed like the editor went "Sid, its the 21st century, the (young, black) model won't be listening to Rachimminov's 5th Sonata" so they went for the most popular rapper/musical act at the time.

the person who said that Sheldon would smash the the runaway jury needs to chill. Sheldon doesn't write about normal people, he would have turned Fitch into a telenovela type caricature.

and who said Grisham only writes legal stuff. what of Skipping Christmas, The Painted House, The Broker and Playing for Pizza. Grisham is a bit hit and miss to be honest but when he's good he's very good.

I won't vote in the poll as I prefer Grisham but also as you can't compare them. A better poll would have been Louise Bagshawe and Sidney Sheldon. some of bagshawe's stories are very similar in style.

big ups for Ted. i should be getting his new book, Sinner for christmas grin

my favourite books though are blink and the circle triology. like one of the posters here, i got black and red. was running mental without white. when my sister now bought it for me like 2 months later i read it in like a day even though i had exams. i like how all black, white, red, showdown, saint, house are all kinda linked together.

house was a bit disappointing sha. its like that righteous kill movie. sometimes two superstars together doesn't always work. and i really do not like man called blessed. it's a disgrace to the book that came before it.

@ hannydarl, why can't he test the drug on anyone's kinsmen if they have aids? not to mention the fact that its not like he's going around killing people, most people volunteer. and surely, they could simply take samples from people and apply the substance to said sample and see whether it reduces the viral load.

i smell bullshit here. and most nigerians are gullible. just like how people believed in that head without the body around 13 years ago. the influence Nigeria would have worldwide if they had a cure, and the amounts of money we could make (and said govt officials could chop) just by selling or leasing the patent for it is out of this world.

thirdly, even if the nigerian govt blocked his research, you do know that if it is viable, other countries would have broken their backs to take him.

ugh. such stupidity.

on a final note, this new development is good, but would be very expensive, dangerous and the amount of people who carry the genetic immunity worldwide and then match the patient will be very small. not to mention that extracting marrow is bloody painful and i cant see most people donating it to a perfect stranger.

why I was even considering it, only God knows, when my attendance of a parish (that is pretty close with the london parish) back home is responsible for me almost losing my faith. i've seen far too many people from my parish at home, with their 'im here to front, look at my clothes am i not so much better than you' mentalitiies, at jesus house to want to have anything to do with them.

i'm not a fan of having outsiders attempting to control every aspect of your life. '
